Ajne Yuzu : A Cure for the Summer Time Blues + “Walking on Sunshine” Gold Pendant Draw

It’s not fun when the sun is shining and you can’t enjoy the beautiful weather.  You feel lethargic, tired or just plain out of sorts. Yes you have the summertime blues.  Ajne natural and organic fragrance Yuzu is my favorite from the line thus far, and considering I love this line, that is saying a lot.

The bright opening of Yuzu feels as if I am inhaling liquid sunshine. Ajne Yuzu is better than an Rx or any pill for  relieving temporary  stress.  Its main component Yuzu fruit is a hybrid variety of mandarin and papeda, which has been used in both Japanese and Chinese medicine for hundreds of years to  relax the mind  Bergamot oil from Calabria is a  used in the composition and along with the pink grapefruit, and lime,  there is an instantaneous  mood lifting quality. Yuzu  is bright, sweet (but not too sweet) with a hint of green brought on by the cypress and juniper, so it’s never cloying

According to Jane Hendler the perfumer behind the Ajne brand, Yuzu strengthens The Solar Plexus Chakra (located and inch or two above the navel). This Chakra is the focus point for our power and will. Our sense of power, ego and authority, as well as self-control and discipline are centered here.   The color is gold.If lately you have been indecisive, lacking motivation and control over yourself, this is a perfumed anecdote in a pendant.  All in all, a ‘glowing  SOLAR review”.

I suggest if you have a bad day, or feeling demotivated, just take a sniff from the flacon. Jane sent me this beautiful golden pendant to share with one reader. Please leave a comment on the summertime blues  and for extra credit  your favorite Ajne perfume to be eligible or one you would like to try. Draw ends July 15, 2011

  • Summertime Blues for me is when i have to spend long hours at work when i would rather be outside enjoying the sunshine. My favorite Ajne fragrance is Lakshmi, its a warm beauty and i adore it.

  • Yuzu sounds delightful! While my blues tend to hit me harder in the winters, the stress-relieving properties would be amazing in the midst of house buying. And there is nothing like a little citrus and green to cut through the summer time heat!

Thanks so much for holding the drawing. The pendant is beautiful as well!

  • Maybe there IS a cure for the summertime blues. It sounds cool and refreshing. Yuzu, cypress, and juniper were made for each other.

  • Sounds beautiful. I love the pendant, too. I am obsessed with citrus – must be a reason for that!

I’ve had those days mid-summer, the air conditioning is not working, my parents are not taking the heat well, and when I walk from a 73 degree room at work to 105 degrees outside.

  • That’s a gorgeous pendant.
“The bright opening of Yuzu feels as if I’m inhaling liquid sunshine.” That’s definitely what’s needed to cure the “but the calendar says it’s summertime” blues over here on the Pacific Northwest where waiting day after day for the sun to actually appear or stay for more than a day is becoming ever more de-motivating. My Solar Plexus Chakra could use a boost.

Thank you to Jane at Ajne Organic Perfumes and to CaFleureBon for this lovely draw opportunity.

  • Summertime blues for me is when it gets just so hot and there is no rain in sight–I need a pick me up with something refreshing and anergy boosting like Yuzu!

  • kastehelmi says:

The summertime blues is having to move into a new house in hear and humidity that makes you sweat before you even walk outside! What is summer when you have to tie a million loose ends instead of going swimming, picking berries, hula-hooping….

That pendant is honestly one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I’ve seen in ages–and a perfume too! It’s so gorgeous I could wear it everyday–very 1930’s, woowow!
And Yuzu sounds like a treasure to wear, citruses so robust you can wear them in winter?

  • Yuzu sounds tempting..
sumertime blues?- when I think it will be over soon, that time flies by…
    that pendant looks fantastic…

  • Yuzu is such a fresh and cheerful note that this sounds perfect. I coloniali do a splash water with it in, and I have a sample of Yuzu Rouge that always perks me up.

Favourite Ajne may now be Printemps, though was previously Calypso – flittersniffer for a reason!

  • The only one I have tried so far is Nectar, and it’s simply gorgeous. I would love to try Yuzu. I usually love yuzu based fragrances and it’s a perfect note for hot summer days.

Please, enter me in the draw. Thank you!

  • Juniper, citric notes, Cypress? Besides veytver – which I prefer on hot an humid days – these are my favorite summer notes. Carons Yuzu ist also a nice take on the yuzu fruit.

  • Summertime blues: When I wake up at 5:00am and the house is 80, the humidity is 80 and it is 80 outside! I would love to try anything from this line, the Yuzu sounds wonderful.

  • kastehelmi says:

Oh yes, Lakshmi looks wonderful for the roses!

Yet probably Sublime would be a first choice as a “soft citrus floral” or Printemps for the lime blossom…it’s very hard to tell from the descriptions alone which would be best for my skin if I could try one….

  • It is so hot and dry here in Texas, I can’t even go into my pool until the sun goes low. I know, I sound like a moaner! I love Ajne and own the lavender one and white flowers. My 20 year old daughter put on the white flowers and said “This smells good!!” I would love to try ALL her perfumes!

  • Love that adorable pendant! I’m having a bad case of the summertime blues myself. The weather has been beautiful here lately, and as I work full time I don’t get out much to enjoy it (sob). So we try to get to the beach on the weekends if the weather permits.

I’ve never tried an Ajne perfume, but Yuzu sounds yummy and perfect for hot summer days.

  • summertime blues is 12 hour shift in the ER with no windows while feeling the heat and the humidity rolling through the never ending openning doors. My favorite Ajne perfume is printemps.

  • my favorite is lakshmi. summertime blues don’t exist for me except when I sense fall beginning. summer is my favorite time of year.

  • Awwww…thanks Michelyn:) My fav is deLavande…it makes me feel so calm (something I need lately)

  • Michellle Hunt says:

Hmm, the summertime blues might just be humidity induced grouchiness. Certainly a lovely citrus can help lift you from these blues!
I have not had the opportunity to sample any other of the fragrances, but Vanille sounds lovely too!

  • I have tried nothing from the line, but Yuzu sounds divine. I love a bright cooling citrus. The pendant is lovely!

  • I haven’t tried any of Ajne’s scents as of yet, but Lascaux sounds really rich and outdoorsy, and the story behind it is great!

  • Yuzu absolutely sound good for summer. Talking of solar plexus chakra, it plays vital role in all ailments related to abdomen. I also practice yoga mudra for solar plexus chakra which relaxes me deep down to my nerves.
