A Tree Grows in Japan: “Tree House Candle” By Byredo

I love candles and home fragrances. They don't get the same respect as a new fragrance, in most perfume blogs. I met Ben Gorham of Byredo several years ago and would like to give his new Tree House a climb.

The new candle Tree House was created for Byredo's Japanese launch at specialty store Adam et Ropé Biotop, Tokyo.

Tree house fragrance notes caught my attention: Pimento, Bamboo, Hay, Labdanum, Myrrh,
Blond cedarwood, Guaiac wood, Sandalwood, Leather

The store's courtyard houses a Takashi Kobayashi tree house in a grand camphor tree which has been there since the store opened over 20 years ago. Because of their constant exposure to rain and the fact that most tree houses are built with scraps of various woods they all smell quite unique.  This tree house became a very visual reference for the candle. It was also based on the idea of Japanese woods, which is a theme that flows throughout Biotop

Editor's Note: I also like to see the sight of  things growing and natural  beauty after the Japanese earthquake.
