Lilac perfumes sometimes are  perceived as “girly”, “old fashioned”, and not suitable for men. However, for millennia, men in both Eastern and Western cultures, have worn floral perfumes without hesitation. In the language of flowers, Lilacs symbolize the emotion of “love” and often represents spirituality, a universal theme. According to Creative Director Christopher Chong of Amouage :“We first launched in Russia and in the UK (March 2016), before the world wide release.  Lilac Love is the first of the new collection The Secret Garden Collection. It has a totally different DNA  than the rest of the Amouage family”.

The DNA may be different but it IS Amouage, so there is exceptional longevity, powerful sillage and Lilac Love is composed of beautiful ingredients; a photorealistic lilac accord and mouthwatering gourmand notes such as cacao. Marketed as a distinctly feminine fragrance Sebastian Jara of the YouTube Channel Looking Feeling Smelling Great, and founder of a popular Facebook Group,  has the opinion it can be worn by men, and he wears Lilac Love often. His review of this beautifully composed perfume which was in collaboration with Nathalie Lorson and Elise Benat of IFF.

  • Great video! The description of the heart notes sounds wonderful. I love gourmand and flower scents so this is must sniff for me.
I’ve never tried any Amouage perfumes.
Thank you for the draw! USA

  • fazalcheema says:

I will admit I am one of those who find lilacs girls. i only have one lilac perfume in collection which is Malle En passant. Sebastian admits it has quite realistic lilac note but he also says it has gourmandy aspects as well and there are some other contrasting notes. plus Nathalie Lorson worked on it so that also is a plus. My fav. Amouage is Gold for Women. I am in the US.

  • Romany Gerges says:

I Love Amouage, I have most of their famous fragrances, I would love to try this one, I love floral fragrances, Ex “Lyric man” I love it. would really love this one. Flowers combination in this fragrance is amazing, I feel like i can smell it even though i never did. I hope i can win this bottle. Thank you Sepastian, Keep up the great reviews. your my favorite.

  • I watch Sebastian all the time, and I generally trust his perception of
a fragrance. I am interested I his assertion that this is a realistic Lilac/gormand. I wouldn’t think to put those together, but I have been wanting to try this one. I love my sample of Jubilation 25; it’s my favorite from the line I have sampled.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  • !!! This is intriguing. I rarely have worn lilac, and when I have it was always a Soliflore so I am very interested to see how this accord plays with others! Lol the Cacao really is a surprise and I would love to see how that develops in the fragrance. I can picture the vanilla with the lilac but not yet the cacao. How exciting. Of course I adore patchouli so that is no problem. I am a person who enjoys the longevity of a scent and I’ve never tried anything from Amouage, so it would be just awesome to win this draw. Thanks so much for offering. And yes, I am a floral fan, I tend to be drawn to roses, Indian magnolia, and JASMINE. Lovely!

  • I love Amouage. I’m a guy but i like florals, especially lilac, plus gourmands. I’m in Brooklyn, New York. Thanks.

  • I have no lilac perfumes, but I love how Sebastian describes the layering of notes. It’s hard to pick a favorite Amouage perfume, but Gold Man would be my sentimental favorite, as it was my first. I am in thm4dfe US.

  • Trenton Lenz says:

Amazing Vid by Sebastian, been a fan of what he does for a while now, and he always reviews the best fragrances! I dont have floral fragrances as of yet, and this would be a steeple of one if i could get my hands on it!

  • Lillyhollowayblog says:

This was my first exposure to Amouage perfumes andI must say I can see why men as well as women would want to wear it. It’s gorgeous and I would love to own a bottle of it. I live in the US.

  • I am not in USA and obviously don’t qualify for the draw, but still wanted to drop by, because – LILAC!! My favorite one is En passant, but I used to like Jo Malone’s “White Lilac and Rhubarb” and “Jardin Clos” Diptyque, both (sadly) discontinued. My favorite Amouage is “Epic Woman”.

  • pianomanmiller says:

Incredible video by Sabastian as always! He always does a fantastic job of bringing out the true nature of different fragrances. I’ve always loved the smell of lilac. Reminds me of some classic barbershop scents. My favorite fragrance from Amouage is probably Jubliation 25, just a masterpiece! I live in Texas.

  • Wow lilac from amouage niche Parfume.. I wish I can smell n spray to my body ..I live in Philadelphia

  • Patrick Echevarria says:

The one flower note that I truly adore is Ylang ylang and Sampaguita(Philippine Jasmine). These two has a fond childhood memories in me because we had them in out garden back home and I could smell it almost everyday. Lilac is something I’m not too familiar so it would be interesting to see if this can be for men too. For sure my wife would love it Would love to try this one too!

  • Francisco Salazar says:

Great review like always love to win the bottle for my mother to give to her for Christmas.

  • Jonathan Gozdziewski says:

Thanks for the opportunity! I am a subscriber to Sebastians channel and he has some of the best reviews! Including this one! This sounds like a very nice fragrance I would be interested in smelling on my wife!
I love his indepth words on what this fragrance turns out to be.
I would love to win this for my wife as she needs some niche frags!
I live in Baltimore Maryland. Thanks!

  • This looks like a beautiful scent and your review really makes me want to sample it. The combination of lilac and cacao sounds intriguing.
Dia is my favorite Amouage fragrance.
Thanks! I live in the U.S.

  • Christine Witkowski says:

I’ve been looking like crazy for a great lilac scent and would be thrilled to win this! (Illinois)

  • Hi, I’m a longstanding Amouage fan. My favorite Amouage depends on the day! I’m going to try to answer this without becoming stressed…. I’ve always loved Dia and Gold year round. Epic and Memoir are strictly cold weather loves. Interlude and Honour are mood scents. When Lyric calls to me I MUST wear it….aahhh Jubilation 25 is glorious…I prefer the old Ubar in the funky bottle over the current…..Fate and Beloved…. wow, I’ve been wearing both of them a lot lately….wait, what was the question? yeah, you can see how this is going to go. Today’s answer is …probably….Jub25 extrait…..whew. ok, that was easy….
As for this video…. I like your videos. I watch, I rarely comment…as you might have noticed I tend to ramble a bit. 😉 I had a small sample of this a few months ago…I liked it quite a lot but the bottles are out of my reach currently. It’s interesting that to you it’s primarily a lilac accord scent….I got the barest whiff of lilac. To me it’s primarily a heliotrope scent with just enough vanilla to keep it teetering on verge of dessert without ever quite taking the plunge. The other florals mentioned were entirely subdued and the patch barely registered. The sandalwood I think grounds the vanilla to keep it from going too far into gourmand territory. Anyhow That’s what I remember from my generous 5 drops from a popular sampling site (yes, that was a tiny touch of snark) …I would love to be considered for your bottle draw. Now go forth, and continue to smell fabulous. 🙂

  • Eric Meyers says:

Sebastian makes lilac seem almost spiritual. Would love to find a floral that I could love

  • Deborah Lane McGuire says:

I enjoy Seb’s reviews because they’re always to-the-point. I own a handful of Amouage samples and decants, my favorites to date are Fate and Memoir Woman. Thank you for the draw.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews, tgis review gave me a glimpse into what the fragrance consists of this notes, the beautiful combination of lilac and cacao bean. His description of the fragrance scent reminds him of a delicious flower, which sound great to me beacause I really love sweet scents and this scent seems like it would be the perfect floral fragrance for me, not to heavy on the floral but a great combo of floral and gourmand sweetness! I have never tried a Amouage fragrance, and I would love for this to be my first foray into the Amouage line.! Thank you for the giveaway!

  • From Sebastian’s purple shirt to the opening picture of Christopher Chong I knew I needed Lilac Love. Thanks for reminding us that flowers have a language and aren’t for women only. Based on the lilac and cocoa notes I already ordered a sample but want the whole bottle
My favorite Amouage is OpusX and jubilationXXV

  • I love Sebastian’s channel! I think flowers and sweets go together perfectly! Every note in this perfume sounds wonderful to me. Lilacs are a favorite of mine. I asked for one when I was a child a a birthday gift. My favorite Amouage is Gold Woman. I am in the US.

  • I have always loved floral fragrances even as a teenager I would buy good ones for my mom hoping she would like them but she preferred resinous perfumes so I got the bottles all to myself :). I have two Amouage in my Scentbird queue: Reflection Man and Interlude Man. I’m anxious to try them.

  • Elizabeth T. says:

Fantastic review! Sebastian does a great job giving the background of the firm before going on to describe the scent. Delicious lilac and baked cocoa? So creative and yet it sounds like the two play really well together. I would be delighted to try this! My favorite Amouage is Sunshine Woman (though I really like Dia as well). Thank you for the review and fabulous draw! USA

  • I am in the USA and I am a subscriber to Sebastian’s youtube channel. He does a great job describing the scent and I’m intrigued to see if some of my male friends would enjoy this fragrance. Lilac and cocoa sound like an interesting combination! As for Amouage, my favorite is probably Memoir Woman. Thank you for the review and great video!!

  • Sounds like an intriguing fragrance. I really like Amouage. I’m a huge fan of cacao. Be interested in giving this one a try.
    Dallas, TX

  • Amazing video. I liked Sebastian’ s suggestione for men. I do like lilac as a flower, not always as a perfume, but this Amouage sounds fantastic. I wear their Musk attar and love Memoir woman and Fate woman. Thanks for the draw!

  • I am intrigued to see if the scent would work for me. I do happen to like Pinaud Lilac Vegetal aftershave.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian’s review of this fragrance…I’m not too familiar with the lilac accord, but I’d welcome the chance to GET familiar with it…furthermore, the middle and base notes sound like they’d really round this scent out beautifully. I have limited experience with Amouage, but what I’ve used, I really love. Thank you…

  • Richard Potter says:

Great review, Sebastian. I love Lilac, my favorite being Ineke’s After My Own Heart. I would love to try this one. I adore florals. I’ve been wanting Opus X.

  • If Amouage has done lilac i’m sure it’s done right. I like lilac in perfume, not so much the actual flower. Probably I’m allergic to what’s in the flower. I’d like to win this because Amouage and Mr. Chong have put out some great fragrances. One of my favorite from the house is Lyric Man. usa

  • I really enjoyed the video review – what a lovely fragrance! The combination of lilac, almond, and cocoa (and the other notes) sound absolutely heavenly. Lilac is one of my favorites, when I was young my grandma had some gorgeous lilac bushes and we’d gather armfuls to scent our house. Peonies are a close second favorite. So far I’ve not had the good fortune to try any Amouage but would love to try this one. I live in the US. Thanks for the amazing draw!

  • Enjoyed the informative review and the fragrance sounds great. There aren’t too many lilac perfumes, so would really love to see how it is and win a bottle. My favorite Amouage is Reflection Man. I can provide an US address.

  • I would never have thought to put lilac in a gourmand fragrance! I love lilac (En Passant being my favorite) and also gourmands so this really piques my interest. As always, Sebastian knows his notes and houses – his description of the ‘milky lilac’ sounds delicious! My favorite Amouage is probably Beloved. I’m in the US and would love to win this scent! Thank you and thanks, Sebastian, for the review!

  • Loved the description of the scent. So far, I love Dia and Interlude Woman from Amouage. I would love to try this as lilac is a flower that is a personal favorite. I live in the USA. Thank you for the giveaway and thank you for the review.

  • Lilac is perfect- in Greece it’s called Pascalia and is the floral symbol for Easter- Thanks for the review!

  • It sounds like it smells delicious. I hope to be lucky enough to win and try it :D. From Texas

  • As always Sebastian, awesome givaway and review,
I love amouage , good quality, I love Journey Man and sunshine man beautiful frags,
I would love to try this one, I love gourmand ones.
    Houston,TX,77036.

  • I truly love to push the envelope of masculine vs feminine because I think what smells great is for all. I appreciate that Sebastian is willing to take on those barriers as well and what he has and is doing for the fragrance community is nothing short of a blessing to all. Thanks so much!!!

  • doveskylark says:

i like wearing florals with leather perfumes. I’ve been layering jasmine with perfumes like Knize 10. I would love to see how lilac would work. I didn’t know that fragrance couldn’t be extracted from lilacs.
One of my favorites from Amouage is Lyric Man.
    I live in the USA.

  • Upandarmani says:

This fragrance sounds really intriguing. I have never really tried floral, but his video makes me crave the scent! I would love to win this scent and treasure it!

  • Nice review ! I just love a good lilac perfume so this sounds really interesting. Sebastian did a great job describing this fragrance.
I live in the U.S. and Interlude is my favorite Amouage.
    Thank you for the draw

  • I’ve been wanting to try this fragrance since I first saw the bottle and articles about its release. I feel about floral the same as Sebastian, as I’m more into the resinous, ambery, and dark scents. It’s time to explore the florals and why not start with the best of the best, Amouage Lilac! I love the perfume house and have my holy grail, Fate, and Ubar, which I love with passion!

  • Great review. This perfume sounds amazing. Like Sebastian, I have had a hard time with floral, but I lean towards Lilac, Gardenia, and Jasmine perfumes. Amouage was one of the first niche houses I explored and is still one of my favorites. If I had to choose a favorite, it would probably be a toss up between Memoir and Fate. Thank you for this opportunity!

  • Great review! I just started exploring niche and Bought Reflection man from Amouage a month ago and have abou 15 ml left. Everyone at work loved it and ended up decanting it. I would love to get my hands on another Amouage. I don’t think I can rock a female frag but all the ladies at work would love to get their hands on a decant from this house.

  • Delicious flowers………why not. I love gourmande scents and Amouage does such an amazing job with their creations. SebastIan loves it at all its levels so it must be a winner. Did not know about the lilac fact and extraction. Interesting. I look forward to the rest if the secret garden. My favorite Amouage is Journey Woman. I live in the U.S. Thanks so much for the draw.

  • Hikmat Sher Afridi says:

WOW!!!!!………. the secret garden collection with totally different DNA from the rest of Amouage family. When its Amouage then its SUPER and MASTERPIECE. Amouage never disappoint the wearers.
Jara review staples this fragrance. I have many flower perfumes in my collection. A floral perfume that has gourmand taste is really interesting. My favorite from Amouage is Interlude.
Thanks for the generosity & opportunity to participate in the draw by giving my relative address residing in NY.

  • Love the review, as usual. I love lilac and have wanted to try this fragrance since it was launched. It sounds lovely. Thanks for doing this generous giveaway.

    -Bryan from VT

  • Nahanni Riversong says:

How delightful to have this new Lilac Love release in the collection of Amouage… I grew up playing underneath many lilac bushes and have been hunting for a truly wearable and enjoyable Lilac fragrance. One of the trickiest scents to mimic. I am certain this will be a good one. Thank you for such a wonderful and generous giveaway. Crossing my petals to win this beauty.

  • I love the Amouage line. Haven’t tested this gem!
    Thanks for this brilliant review!
    Las Vegas nv.

  • I wanted to try Liac Love before this review, but now I REALLY want to try it. Sebastian Jara’s assurance that it really does smell like lilacs is music to my ears, because I too love the smell of lilacs, but have yet to find a lilac perfume I really love. They tend to be a little too high-pitched for me to actually enjoy wearing them, and while I would not have dreamed up a gourmand lilac, maybe this will indeed be the one for me. My favorite Amouage is either Lyric Woman or Opus I, depending on the day. I am in the US.

  • I’m a lilac lover, and I enjoyed watching the description of this one. “milky lilac” sounds great.
I haven’t tried any Amouage perfumes. Thank you for the chance! US resident

  • laureneboucher says:

This was great! I will definitely be watching more of Sebastian’s reviews. I love the idea of a lilac perfume. I’ve never had one before but the smell of lilac is lovely. I would be interested in finding out how it works with the other notes. I live in the US. Thank you for the draw!

  • Wow. Fabulous review! Would love to win this perfume as Lilaces are one of my favorite flowers and it brings back memories of the huge bush of lilacs in front of my home as a child.
All the notes sound amazing, especially the Gourmand twist. My favorite Amouage scent is Memoir Woman, especially the body Creme. I am subscribed to Sebastian’s channel and live in the U.S.
    Thanks for the generous giveaway!!

  • Great review! I’ve been looking for the right lilac–and I think the gourmand pairing might do the trick. It’s hard to choose a favorite when it comes to Amouage, but I think I’d have to go with Beloved Woman! I’ve been wearing it often.

    Thank you!

  • I and my wife are eager to get this one , I am a huge fan of rose-based fragrances and the notes of this one seem awesome!!

  • Thanks Sebastian. Anything described as a flower that becomes delicious sounds good to me:)I haven’t met an Amouage fragrance that i haven’t liked yet. Im in the USA

  • I love how beautiful Sebastian described the heart notes. Lilac and cocoa combo sounds appealing. Dia is my favorite Amouage fragrance.

Thank you for the draw! U.S.

  • Lilac plus gourmand notes sounds incredible! The only lilac fragrance I’m particularly familiar with is En Passant, so I’d love to expand my horizons. I didn’t realize that lilac is one of those flowers whose smell can’t be captured. I’m in the US, and my favorite Amouage is Lyric Woman. Thanks!

  • Just finished watching Sebastian’s review & had to give this a shot =)
I’m very partial to perfumes that are loaded with Heliotrope looking very much forward to trying this.
The Secret Garden is an absolutely enchanting idea for an fragrance collection.
Orris is another note I adore in a dry-down, Lilac love sounds superb!

  • Always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. The groumand ascpect of the fragrance intrigues me. I’m a huge floral fan but don’t think I’ve tried a scent that is lilac dominate.

Would love to win this bottle Amouage is my favorite house. Favorite Amouage is Gold Man.

    I’m in the US.

  • Boogabonkayelly says:

Hello! My husband is a huge fan of Amouage and I enjoy quite a few of his fragrances. I don’t usually enjoy florals (especially Rose), but the way he described this made me want to smell it as he talked about it. He made me really interested in what it could smell like with Lilac and cacao together. Thank-you for this giveaway!

  • glitteralex says:

While I normally wear Dia, anything with Lilac will always tempt me. Thank you, Sebastian, for your suggestion that florals aren’t just for women!

  • Lilac perfume reminds me my childhood. I have huge Lilac trees around my house. I don’t know this perfume smell like rear Lilac. I’m starting to buy Amouage perfume. If I chance to win to have giveaway perfume I’m very thankful. However, Nice review. Thank you

  • Frank Santana says:

Amouage is such a classy perfume house, I’ve never had the pleasure of smelling any of the ladies perfumes and it would be awesome to win this beautiful perfume for my wife for Christmas.

  • Thank you for the good review. I haven’t tried it before
And really want to own this bottle
