October is the month when the team at CaFleureBon starts reaching for their gourmand perfumes; the equivalent of Halloween candy for our nose. The first gourmand perfume to become a best seller is Thierry Mugler Angel which was created in 1992 and as Ermano Picco wrote in our Modern Masterpieces  “After ten years of rejection, finally master perfumers Olivier Cresp and Yves de Chirs accepted the challenge and composed a perfume that smelled like FOOD. Thierry Mugler Angel is a pampering scent with an overdose of patchouli wrapped in an unusual amber accord based on ethyl maltol. The molecule itself smells of candy sugar, strawberry jam, caramel and chocolate”.  Ralph Schweiger wrote in our interview of his first scent memories “I recall flavors better: the red currant in the garden, grilled chicken, creamsicle-like ice cream and all these other crazy sweet things you eat as a child”
