Jaimie Alexander at The Golden Globes 2016 Gown by Genny Milan and Makeup by Jeffrey Paul
One of the standout looks at the Golden Globes was Jaimie Alexander (she stars in the Tv series Blindspot). She absolutely killed it in a gorgeous plunge neck emerald patchwork gown designed by Genny of Milan. If this doesn’t put the designer on the fashion map it will be a surprise. Jaimie wowed and proved that showing skin can be both classy and elegant. I loved the pockets which added both a practical and an eccentric design element and her simple swept back hair showed her bone structure to perfection.
Jaimie Alexander looked polished and gorgeous with subdued smoky eyes, glowing skin and pale pink lips
But it was her understated smoky eye, pale pink lip and glowing skin that wowed me. I turned to her makeup artist Hollywood Jeffrey Paul for the complete product breakdown. “Jaimie and I decided to make it elegant, and a bit dramatic. She has the most beautiful light eyes, her eyebrows are strong and her porcelain skin really is flawless, so I wanted to enhance rather than change her features”, Jeffrey explains.
Skincare: Don’t underestimate the power of prepping the skin, even when it is as great as Jaimie’s. After cleansing Jeffrey applied Kiehl's Since 1851 'Turmeric & Cranberry Seed' Energizing Radiance Masque that exfoliates and rejuvenates the skin ($32/2.5 oz) followed by Kiehl's Iris Extract Activating Essence Treatment which hydrates and refines the skin for 24 hours ($45). He used Kiehl’s cult fave Ultra Facial Cream ($26.50/1.7 oz) to soothe and bring out Jaimie’s natural glow. Its lightweight texture is instantly absorbed and Jaimie’s skin looked radiant. Under her eyes Jeffrey applied Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado ($28.00 /.05 oz) contains Vitamin A, Avocado Oil and fatty acids, providing intense hydration to the delicate eye and a great base for the eye makeup later on.
Eyes: Key to Jaimie’s smokey eye was to add drama without it looking overly made-up. Dior 5 Couleurs Khaki Design palette ($60) enhanced her eyes, keeping them the focus and went well with her jewel tone gown. Jeffrey then used Dior Shows Color and Contour pencil ($33) for added emphasis and a bit of depth, Jeffrey used IT Cosmetics Liner Lover in Black which has a fabulous gel formula, really black color, no tugging and stays put without smudging. ($24). Lots of mascara to pop the eyes!!! He used IT Cosmetics Tightline Waterproof Full Lash Length Black Mascara Primer which is a real gamechanger as it is a mascara, eyeliner and primer in one ($24). Jeffrey wanted Jaimie’s lashes to look luxurious and used IT Cosmetics Super Hero Mascara which boosts volume, lengthens and defines. ($24.00). Strong Brows frame the eye, create symmetry and finish the look so Jeffrey enhanced Jaime’s arch with IT Cosmetics BROW POWER® Super Skinny in Dark Brown ($24).
Face: Jaimie has beautiful skin so Jeffrey used concealer and highlighters in lieu of foundation; he applied IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer in Light (24.00), which has full coverage and is anti aging, evening out any imperfections. To brighten, Jeffrey applied IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Hello Light. Jaimie has amazing cheekbones and Jeffrey used the new for Spring 2016 Diorskin Nude Air Glowing Gardens Illuminator in Glowing Pink.
Lips: Jeffrey was conscious of feathering and slip so he the YLBB pink tone was accomplished with IT Cosmetics aptly named YLBB® Your Lips But Better Waterproof Lip Liner Stain ($20) which is a multi tasker that colors, lines and hydrates over Kiehl’s No Shine Moisturizing Lip Balm ($9.00)
Body: Wearing such a low cut gown and showing a lot of skin calls for even skin tone and “sometimes the body can look a bit different than the face”, says Jeffrey who gave a quick brush over her shoulders with Kiehls Skin Tone Correcting & Beautifying BB Cream with Vitamin ($47).
So that’s the way to get Jaimie’s Golden Globe Red Carpet look at home and the bonus is that the prices are so reasonable.
