Fall 2015: CHANEL Les 4 OMBRES Multi Effect Quadra Eyeshadow 254 Tissé d’Automne (Review, Photos, Swatches)

CHANEL Les 4 OMBRES Multi Effect Quadra Eyeshadow is 254 Tissé d'Automne

What would a new beauty season be like without a new CHANEL collection to obsess over? The theme this season is LES AUTOMNALES “The Fall” which sounds better in French but states exactly when the makeup will look its best.

For fall 2015, CHANEL Les 4 OMBRES Multi Effect  Quadra Eyeshadow 254 Tissé d’Automne is the surprising star of the line.   With 90 degrees weather ahead for the foreseeable future weeks there is comfort in just looking, let alone wearing them. Chanel Tissé d’Automne is well named; as each color is reminiscent of leaves turning. Last year CHANEL reformulated the quads and the textures are creamier, much more pigmented with less fall out. The colors themselves are multi dimensional and complex.

LES 4 OMBRES CHANEL 2015 EYESHADOW QUADRA 254 TISSE D'AUTOMNE

I am going to tell you straight out, before the review, usually  shades of green make me look sallow and sickly. There are two in Tissé d’Automne  and I was surprised how well they suited my warm complexion.

SWATCH TISSE AUTOMNE FALL 2015 EYESHADOW LES 4 OMBRES QUAD CHANEL

From Left to Right: #1, #2, #3 and  #4

#1 (upper left) is a medium  golden khaki  with a soft shimmery finish. I use this at the outer corner of my eyes as an accent, but if you love khaki tones it is a great lid color

#2  (upper right) is a pale neutral to cool pink with shimmery finish and excellent pigmentation; a little goes a long way, so my advice is not to use a heavy hand. This is a great color to accent your brow bone, to sweep lightly at the top of your cheeks as a highlighter and to accent the inner corner of your eyes.  In the pan it has a hint of peach but it really is a true ice princess pink on my eye, It can be used alone or …

#3 (lower left) layer it over the multi dimensional neutral bronze.  This shade is really versatile, and on my eye shows a bit of a pink under tone, which is why it works so well with #2.  It performs like a duochrome and the color changes from warm to cool, sometimes a bit coppery, then warm  taupe or  verdigris depending on the lighting.  It looks more copper in the pan. I have used this all over the eyelid up into the crease. It is the workhorse of the quad. I am glad I photographed it before wearing  because it already has a dip.

#4 is the darkest charcoal green.  A fancier but more accurate name would be obsidian. It has a little less shimmer than the other shades and looks wonderful worn wet as a liner on the upper lid or smoked out.

FALL 2015 CHANEL 254 TISSE D'AUTOMNE EYESHADOW FALL 2015

Chanel Tissé d’Automne doesn’t duplicate any color I own. So if you are afraid of green, take a leap. This is one gorgeous quad. For reference I wear Nars Barcelona,Kat Von D Lock It foundation in Medium 57 or 58 (depending on the selftanner) and Kevyn Aucoin The Airbrush Foundation in SX09. The colors may look different on you depending on your complexion.  Yes, you should buy  Chanel Tissé d’Automne  available on chanel.com for $61. It really is easy going green.

Disclosure: I received the quad from CHANEL, opinions my own.

  • I was just checking for reviews of tisse d automn because I didn’t think I could wear green.
Going to Neiman’s tomorrow I think I have to have it. Have you tried the new eye pencils? I am going to bookmark your site, I really like it

  • The quad looks beautiful and the color combination is great.
I will have to test it now. And I hope it would look great on my skin tone.
You made it sound like a must have!
