New Fragrance: Maiyet X Barneys New York (2014) by Ralf Schwieger

maiyet x barneys new york perfume 2014

Master Perfumer Ralf Schwieger of Mane has been the nose behind all of the successful Barney’s New York Exclusive Limited Edition Perfumes which partner with fashion and jewelry designers, including L’Wren Scott  (2012), Greg Lauren (2013)  and Irene Neuwirth (2014).  For Fall 2014,  the retailer debuts Maiyet X Barneys New York,  a collaboration with  Maiyet, the  Manhattan-based design house that  supports niche artisans in Kenya, India, Peru and Colombia, established by former human rights lawyer Paul van Zyl and co-founder Kristy Caylor.  Featuring notes of Namibian myrrh, Indian sandalwood and jasmine, Indonesian patchouli, and Italian bergamot, the scent is composed with ingredients  from exotic locations and is homage to the Maiyet woman. The sweet and nutty hints of Namibian myrrh were harvested in partnership with Mane’s Kustha Project, an organization promoting economic empowerment through fair trade and labor.

Maiyet X Barneys New York is available online and in store 100ml/$195.00

  • Yep I need to have this one in my collection, the notes sound amazing and just like the rest of the Barneys collaborations I imagine this to be a winner!

i recently acquired L’Wren Scott…it seems all Barneys exclusives have been created by only Ralph Schwieger..

  • This sounds fantastic, especially for the cooler weather ahead. For some reason, i can detect myrrh better when it’s cold.

  • Cynthia Richardson says:

Aside from the exotic appeal of this fragrance, Barney’s social consciousness is commendable. This would be a good purchase for Barney’s upcoming Love Yourself event.
