Laboratorio Olfattivo Underground Vibes is the latest release from the Extreme Collection. Master perfumer Antoine Lie takes us back to nights of underground parties and illegal raves on the outskirts of the city, deep in an industrial area where fun and mischief are afoot. About a decade of my life was spent in bars and clubs, along with the occasional warehouse party and memories flooded back while wearing Underground Vibes. So pack up your brain and pay close attention, Underground Vibes is gonna take you to another dimension.

Antoine Lie Atelier Fragranze Milano

Master perfumer Antoine Lie of Atelier Fragranze creator of Laboratorio Olfattivo Underground Vibes via the brand.

Cool musky sharp green aromatics with a black pepper spice feel cold in the still air of the night with whispers of alcohol swirling round pine trees. Underground Vibes smells like trouble and fun. It also might be the most realistic weed accord I’ve smelled, it’s nothing like those rhubarb or grapefruit sour bitter zingers from the 2000’s, this smells like you could get some knowing looks. The whiskey note gives Underground Vibes an ethereal feel, a vertically of excitement, it’s not obviously a high end peaty whiskey more your every day go too but there’s some subtle Oakwood barrel notes with a gentle smokiness with juniper giving shaper green bite. This isn’t about being classy this is all about having fun and any booze will do. It gives off a wild spectre of fun as it merges with the danker greens of the hemp essence and soft dark leather aromas.

Underground Vibes captures that rush of cruising round waiting to get the final address of the secret location. Is it a farm somewhere on the outskirts of the city or in an empty warehouse deep in the middle of nowhere? Nothing is letting us know right now as Underground Vibes journey expands slowly like the night unfolding around us. This is pre-party fun driving round with friends, the windows down, weed, booze and smoke blurring with the cold air as the music pumps out over the car stereo. Underground Vibes lingers in the air around you, leaving a trail for others to follow.

(Track to play for the opening is Just by Bicep.)

 Rock and roll perfumes

Underground Vibes leads us deep into the industrial part of the city, its dark with only some street lights a glow as the aroma of cool cement with scattered green weeds takes over. The boozy fumes and the weed accord soften into a translucent vaporous veil, a deep neon green that lingers over a much darker heart. Its feels like you’re among tall buildings finding your way into where the party is happening. Antoine Lie conjures these ghosts of old raves in a beautiful way in Underground Vibes. Underground Vibes shifts from being a realistic perfume to one that is more hauntological, it envelops you and those near in blur of old memories playing out in a wonderful narcotic fun haze.

Photo by Vladyslav Tobolenko on Unsplash

Dank cypriol and gasoline whisper of dangers lurking in the shadows around the edges of this old warehouse, the aroma of a generator burning petrol to keep the music and lights pumping. Immortelle and orris whispers of warm bodies and cool skin moving all dancing as one, the subtle body warmth with cool sweat from dancing all night, there a warmth of clothes too, cotton and leather notes weave through the darker elements. Sweeter notes peak through Underground Vibes dark aura, adding a smooth creamy woods with just a hint of sour, the taste of lips from kissing after drinking and dancing all night. This is a long set, with some beautiful rough earthy oud and patchouli edges that slip into those softer facets. The Vietnamese oud gives Underground Vibes a deep full feel with complex earthy aromas along with a rich floral sweetness that mixes in beat with the darker elements.

(Tracks to play while in the mid section, start out with some early Prodigy, Out of Space and then some harder techno, after transition into some deep house for the early morning vibes, I was listening to DJ Sprinkles remixes while writing, but some mixes by Optimo or Horse Meat Disco always go down well.)

Underground Vibes’s very late final dry down takes you to the chill-out room as the sun comes up. Soft leather chairs feel smooth and luxurious with the scent of cool earth rising up from rich Indonesian patchouli. The dark energy from the opening has faded like the night and leaves you feeling mellow and smooth, nicely relaxed as soft creamy woods and orris lounge round together in a loving bond. A soft purr of animalic desire seeps out from the oud over the bodies of the dancers, they’re stained with memories of narcotic delights letting the ambient music play out over them.

(Tracks to play for the final dry down, Susumu Yokota anything from Grinning Cat.)

Laboratorio Olfattivo Underground Vibes is a mood and memory you can wear. Antoine Lie has composed an evocative perfume that feels like the ghosts of past wild nights are dancing on your skin

Notes: Juniper Berries, Hemp Essence, Whisky CO2 Extract, Cypriol, Cement Accord, Immortelle Absolute, Gasoline Accord, Orris Butter, Vietnam Oud Essence, New Caledonian Sandalwood E.O., Indonesian Patchouli E.O.

  • Always looking forward to trying anything from Antoine Lie! Interesting notes there and I am kind of intrigued of the outcome. Immortelle, cement accord, gasoline together with hemp, oud, sandalwood and whisky… definitely not something you encounter easily in the world of perfumery. Thank you!

  • I love fragrance ls that pain a scene. especially a complicated scene like night life. a mix of industrial notes like gasoline to point to edges with black pepper and whiskey accord. loved J’s review..

  • I’m excited to participate in this amazing giveaway! Thank you for the opportunity to win the Laboratorio Olfattivo Underground Vibes — it sounds incredibly unique and captivating. I’d be thrilled to experience this fragrance and celebrate the moment with style. Fingers crossed and thanks again! I live in Greece.

  • A scent that reminiscences and reflects 90s rave culture, Underground Vibes smells like trouble and fun put together; it takes you on a journey of attending underground raves, traversing industrial areas in the dark, derelict warehouses, writhing bodies dancing in harmony to melodic, visceral, deep bass beats. Musky notes, sharp green aromatics, cotton, leather, Hemp essence, concrete accord and gasoline accord bring and edge while soft creamy woods, orris and its sweeter notes balance it out.

It evolves from being a realistic perfume into one that is more hauntological, a narcotic-like haze; a roller coaster-like experience that goes from an intense frenzy to a more Zen and mellow ending that is smooth. It is a mood and memory you can wear.

It’s very smart to match each facet of the fragrance with some tunes to go along with. This is one of those scents that are aptly named because it’s exactly what you can expect to find. Notes like hemp and gasoline really detail what an underground night may entail. It’s a daring, obscure night indeed when you can experience cement paired with a whisky accord and maybe the house took some liberties with the notes but that’s what the underground gives. It’s secretive, exclusive and welcoming to those who dare spend a night out. I want to feel the underground vibes myself. I’m located in the US.

  • What really pulled me into J’s article on Underground Vibes was how it spoke to the emotional side of scent. A fragrance can echo a mood, a memory, or even a beat. As someone who connects perfumes to music and feeling, this one hit different. Antoine Lie’s creation isn’t just about smelling good; it’s about capturing the pulse of a rave, the tension of concrete tunnels, and the warmth of sweat and whisky in dim light. It reminded me of the way certain tracks like deep house or ambient techno can wrap around you and shift your whole vibe.

J’s writing didn’t over-intellectualize it, which I appreciated. It felt like a fellow scent lover just vibing with something raw and unexpected. The notes such as juniper, cannabis, and immortelle felt like a playlist for the skin. It’s not a crowd-pleaser, and that’s the point. It’s niche, it’s moody, and it’s got soul. That’s what made me want to smell it for myself, especially with the hope that I might get lucky and win the giveaway. Scented regards from NY, USA.

  • The evocative journey through underground raves, with realistic hemp, whiskey, and gasoline accords blending into a hauntological haze of memories and moods – paired perfectly with music suggestions. I live in Poland, EU.

  • Antoine Lie is one of my favorite perfumers. What I liked about this underground vibes is how the writerused his own past memories as a dj and going to bars and raves.

  • J’s review completely pulled me in — the way he describe the mix of smoke, music, and cold night air has me fascinated. I’m especially intrigued by how Underground Vibes blends whiskey, leather, and weed accords to capture that raw, late-night energy. It sounds like a scent that’s not just worn but “experienced”. – USA –

  • Love the descriptions and the musical pairings! This sounds like a fragrance I could get into but hopefully not into trouble while wearing it. The notes are everywhere but sound like they just work together. USA

  • What sparks my interest the most is the promise of a “hauntological” perfume – this idea of it being a ghost of a memory. I’m fascinated by scents that are more about capturing a transient feeling or a specific, fleeting moment in time than just being a beautiful composition. The journey from the anticipatory, cold-air-and-whiskey car ride to the sweaty, gasoline-laced warehouse and finally to the mellow, sun-up chill-out room is a narrative you rarely find in a bottle. Specifically, the “most realistic weed accord” comment is a huge draw. I’m so tired of the rhubarb-and-grapefruit approximations. The idea that it’s paired with a non-peaty, almost utilitarian whiskey and cool cement sounds incredibly atmospheric and raw. It doesn’t sound “pretty”; it sounds authentic, gritty, and alive with the energy of those wild, forgotten nights. It sounds less like a perfume and more like a time machine for a feeling. Incredibly compelling. I am from the EU

  • AromaAdventurer says:

Reading this felt like unearthing a forgotten relic from a past life. J’s description of Underground Vibes is profoundly compelling, not just for the notes, but for its ambition to bottle a specific, fading cultural memory.
What truly captivates me is the promise of a scent that isn’t afraid of its own shadows. So many “dark” or “edgy” perfumes feel like a costume, but this seems to authentically channel the gritty, textured reality of those nights—the cold industrial air mixing with the warmth of bodies, the slick of gasoline underfoot, and the hazy, narcotic veil of smoke and booze. The mention of a “translucent vaporous veil” of neon green over a dark heart is a stunning olfactory image.

  • FragranceFrenzyS says:

My interest is immediately piqued by the structural ambition of this fragrance. The way J describes it as a linear journey from sharp, boozy greens through a narcotic heart to a creamy, earthy dry-down is incredibly appealing.
I’m particularly drawn to the promise of the cement and gasoline accords acting as a stark, industrial canvas for the more organic notes of hemp, immortelle, and oud. It suggests a perfume with real intellectual weight and texture, one that prioritizes atmospheric storytelling over mere wearability.

  • That scent did recall some memories! I’m curious about those details you didn’t include here, J!
Can I have the same, please? I’d love to jump back to the 90s for a few moments. Please let me win this to Germany, thank you for the draw!

  • I just tried it recently and it’s wild!
The boldest release of the house so far…
“Underground Vibes smells like trouble and fun.” – perfect description.
    Greetings from Germany.

  • What a bold and electrifying fragrance concept! ✨ “Underground Vibes” feels like the perfect soundtrack to wild nights and whispered secrets. Thank you for the chance to enter this giveaway — I’d love to experience the journey and make memories with this scent. #GiveawayEntry #WildNights

  • What an exciting duo! “Underground Vibes” sounds like that cool, modern mood I would reach for on city days, while “Wild Nights” feels tailor-made for after-dark adventures. Antoine Lie’s work always grabs me for the way it balances edge with elegance, so I’m especially curious to try these. Thanks for the generous giveaway.. please count me in. I live in the USA.

  • Kensolfactoryodyssey says:

What sparks my interest about Underground Vibes is how vividly it seems to recreate the pulse and atmosphere of those lost nights—smoke, sweat, and neon memories blending with the promise of something just a bit dangerous. That mix of whiskey warmth, green bite, and ghostly rave energy feels like a time capsule bottled up for the senses. I live in the Bay Area, USA.

  • This made me laugh because I’ve definitely had a few nights that sounded a bit like this, minus the warehouse part. I love how the scent was described as both wild and nostalgic. The weed and whiskey combo sounds like chaos in the best way, but somehow it still feels like something I’d actually want to wear. I live in the EU.

  • What really gets me is the “whiskey and weed” part. Not as separate notes, but how they’re supposed to blend together into that hazy, fun pre-game energy. I’m so tired of clean, safe scents. I want something that feels alive and a little bit reckless. This sounds like it has a real story to tell, and I’m curious to hear what it would say on my skin. Sounds like a proper adventure.

  • wonderscent.mari says:

J’s description totally hooked me, i can almost imagine myself dancing all night, being hypnotized by the music and the whole atmosphere, in these crazy and fun night parties. So captivating while reading this review and also the music choices!
I love perfumes that can bring you into a imaginary scene, or tell a story. I am fascinated by the vibe and the mood of Underground Vibes, it brings you into a narcotic almost ecstasy stage while the notes dancing on your skin, just like in an ambient rave night party. I am very intrigued by the dark cold energy of the opening, black pepper, whisky, sharp green weedy aromatics and the smokiness of juniper. Then moving into an industrial scene, feeling and smelling in the air the dank cypriol, gasoline, cement, all these notes awaking the senses of this set while the creamy woods and the warmth of orris and immortelle balancing the awakening energy of the opening. A very intense evocative journey with a mellow and smooth ending as J describes “A soft purr of animalic desire seeps out from the oud over the bodies of the dancers, they’re stained with memories of narcotic delights letting the ambient music play out over them”.
Can’t wait to get my nose on this and transported into this underground party.
Thank you J for this fascinated review and the generous giveaway!

Antoine is my favorite perfumer and this sounds awesome. It sounds cool green and musky. I’d love to win this and live in Indiana.

  • I find Laboratorio Olfativo to be a quite interesting house to follow and Antoine Lie is a very gifted perfumer. On top of that sharp green aromatics with a touch of oud seems right up my alley. I would love to try this!
    Greeting from Germany!

  • What really captivates me about Underground Vibes is how Antoine Lie has managed to capture something so specific and atmospheric—not just a “dark” fragrance, but an actual narrative you can wear. The idea of a realistic weed accord paired with everyday whiskey, cement, and gasoline is bold and unapologetic. It refuses to be pretty or safe, which is exactly what draws me in.
J’s description of it shifting from that anticipatory, cold-air energy of the drive to the narcotic haze of the warehouse, and finally melting into that mellow chill-out room as the sun comes up—that’s storytelling at its finest. It sounds like the kind of scent that doesn’t just smell good; it makes you feel something, like you’re actually there in those forgotten moments.
The “hauntological” quality really resonates with me. There’s something special about a fragrance that prioritizes authenticity and atmosphere over wearability conventions. This seems like it has real soul.
I’d love to experience this journey firsthand.

    Greetings from the EU!

  • I like the gasoline accord in perfumes because it sparks something primal in me, a mix of danger, nostalgia, and fascination. There’s something magnetic about that sharp, oily bite that cuts through the air like static before a summer storm. It reminds me of garages and road trips, of freedom and rebellion, of machines humming with life. I’ll have to check this one out!

  • Thanks for the edgy and evocative review! Laboratorio Olfattivo Underground Vibes by Antoine Lie feels like a secret after-hours scene where whiskey, juniper berries and a transparent gasp of cannabis smoke merge with the grit of concrete and the pulse of sub-bass. The contrast of a mineral-cold undercurrent with warm woods and oud gives it that “wild night that sticks with you” memory—raw yet artfully crafted. I especially loved how the review described it as “a mood and memory you can wear.”

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Antoine Lie has bottled a whole rave with this one.
The inclusion of Cement, Gasoline, and that realistic Hemp Essence is pure genius and incredibly daring. This sounds like the ultimate “mood and memory.” Must try! Greetings from Romania!

  • In the long long ago 1900s, 1990s to be more precise, I had a friend who would put on raves. J’s review reminds me so much of those days. The joys of an ill-spent youth. I would love to try this memory in a bottle. I am in the US.

  • Aaah, the good old times, when I was young. It all seems do far away, and now, reading about Underground vibes, I want to be young again, looking for trouble and fun :).
Master Lie rounded up not only a very interesting mix of notes, but also emotions and memories.
As a fan of the brand, I’m sure this new release is a banger.
    I’m in EU.

  • Well you had me at Antoine Lie! And what a perfect perfumer for a fragrance like this, as usual he uses familiar notes in an innovative way to give us otherworldly yet strangely familiar scents! Or at least that’s how I think of his work. This looks like no exception to the rule. I would love to try this! I am in California. Thank you

  • I remember those days mostly in Philadelphia clubs like Shampoo one that the name escapes me and Egypt. They were the edgier places to go. I remember the club kids in new york and partying until the morning. I’m an accountant and a mother now but those were some good times. I think it’s epic to have a fragrance inspiration of the club rave scene. I am curious how Underground Vibes gives late night club scene. I love an orris note and i’m curious how the whiskey was done. This sounds so fun a piece of the past the cold air as we run from the car to the club. The sounds the feel. I am definitely interested. I’m in Pennsylvania USA

  • Wearing Underground Vibes sounds like a night and following morning spent raving. From the weed and whisky opening with some swirling smoke to the gasoline and cement notes with dark earthy greens and finishing with a leather and woods inflected lounge, the scent takes you on an olfactory journey. There’s obviously a lot of thought that went into this scent and I appreciate the unique spin on an industrial inspired fragrance. MD, USA

A fan of Antoine Lie (recently, Mxxx., Ambre Suprême, Altesse, etc.) and Laboratorio Olfattivo (Oud in White) here. I chuckled when I read “Underground Vibes smells like trouble and fun.” It evokes a great night out with mates; and imagine the synergy if you and your mates all wear Underground Vibes. But alas, I will have to experience vicariously through wearing the perfume. I live in NE, US.

  • This sounds like something I’ve once lived in another life that has me curious to try just to see if it can take me back to that point in time. Hemp, whisky, concrete, and gasoline. Antoine Lie always find a way to create something unusual and interesting. I look forward to checking out the author’s suggested soundtrack to this fragrance later! I’m in the USA

  • goknitintheocean says:

Very fun to suggest tracks to listen to while experiencing fragrance! I aspire to do this more regularly. I am a big fan of Rosamunda from Laboratorio Olfattivo, and so this feature caught my eye. My mileage with hemp or weed notes has varied, but I’m always eager to try something new and Antoine Lie is a great place to start. Thanks so much; I am in NYC/USA.

  • J really makes this one sound like a journey! I love all those dark notes, too. Am I shallow if I say that I also love the bottle? I’m in Oklahoma, USA.

  • rachel wiener says:

Antoine Lie is one of those perfumers that, even if I don’t always love his creations, I always find them worthy of smelling. I love the smell of weed even though I don’t always enjoy the effect and have never found a perfume that captures what I like about it. This sounds like a transportive fragrance and I have fond memories of nights like this. To revisit those memories through event would be wonderful. In Brooklyn, NY

  • I’m intrigued by the hyperrealistic weed accord used here—”nothing like those rhubarb or grapefruit sour bitter zingers from the 2000’s”, paired with booze and smoke, and later receding into the smell of the factory rave. Love the whole concept of Laboratorio Olfattivo Underground Vibes; impressed it captures the scene so fully, but also that it manages to do so while smelling great. Would love to try this. Great review!

I’m in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway.

  • ericwaynebiscuit says:

I mean, come on, a new Antoine Lie fragrance piques my interest on its own, but to add in this moody, industrial weed smell and I’m fully invested. Very curious to smell this next to Serviettet’s Sour Diesel which also has weed + gasoline accords, granted, SD feels like it’s doing what J specifically says Underground Vibes avoids; that tart, rhubarb grapefruit weed combo.

    I’m in VA, USA.

  • foreverscents says:

J’s review made me think back to my underground party days. I definitely enjoyed the wild nights. Maybe wearing Underground Vibes will help me re-live those debauched times. I am here for the weed accord–that I still occasionally partake in. I also love a good gasoline note. I love the work of Antoine Lie, especially Rien and 8 88.
    I live in the USA.

  • crownroyale47 says:

What really grabs me about this review is how vividly it recreates the energy of late night adventures and those unforgettable warehouse party moments. I like how the writer describes the scent as a mix of excitement, danger, and nostalgia, because it makes Underground Vibes sound like an experience rather than just a perfume. The realistic weed note, the boozy warmth, and the gritty city atmosphere all make me curious to smell how those elements blend together. What interests me most is the way the fragrance seems to shift from raw, wild fun to a calm early morning come down, almost like wearing a memory from start to finish. I’m in the United States, New Jersey.

  • I’ve been dying, actually dying to try anything from this line!!! Whatever I research looks like absolute artwork through fragrance and it seems to be able to transport you into a world beyond imagination. These notes and the article have me so so intrigued!

  • “Trouble and fun” ha! That phrase sealed the deal…I can’t wait to see what this one smells like in person. Seriously, I can’t wait see what scent memories this one unlocks!

I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway.
