Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool Review (Marco Genovese) 2025 + Desert Dates Giveaway

Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool

Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool by J.

Moroccan Medjool is the latest release from Electimuss London’s Explorer Collection. This time, perfumer Marco Genovese, the perfumer behind the stunning Black Caviar, amongst others, takes us from under the early morning stars and leads us on a new adventure as the sun rises over the desert. It sparkles as it opens, feeling like a gem uncovered from the desert sands. A rich juicy blast of citruses feels like dancing light rays with alluring fruity facets creating a transportive sensation. You can feel the zing of the grapefruit zest with lemon getting creamy as it melts into a cool morning desert breeze conjured by an aromatic cardamom. It shimmers in greens, yellows and golden tones slowly revealing florals and soft spices, but not before a rich plump date appears at Moroccan Medjool’s heart fleshing out this treat.

Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool wears like a mirage, it’s composed in soft semi-transparent layers that flow over each other creating a hazy allure. A soft fruity aroma captures your attention and beckons you closer to where the citruses sharpen and are tart, This sets the scene for a banquet of rich sweeter facets and working as a clever counter point by making the sweet materials have a darker depth. Grapefruit grows rich and darker as deep caramel and silvery honeyed tones enter the scene. The date of the name, Medjool, shines here as its deep caramel sweetness is revealed, as if you have plucked and pulled apart one of these plump and juicy dates.

Medjool dates are my favourite kind, it’s a refined delicate yet deep and delicious caramel with a stone fruit aroma, and here in Moroccan Medjool it’s embellished with a bouquet of stunning flowers. Rose and jasmine petals adorn these delicious dates, the rose is fragrant, honeyed with ylang ylang giving a delicate silky feel to the rose’s petals while carnation adds a gentle soft fuzz and whisper of spice. The jasmine though has other ideas. It embellishes the sensual plump fleshy feel of the dates, giving off purring indolic desires. As you taste more of the dark caramel dates this dank jasmine rises up in a rather seductive and intoxicating manner. Both the rose and jasmine are here in abundance, but Moroccan Medjool is balanced with those sweeter tones making it feel opulent.

All through the wear Moroccan Medjool has this mineralic sand like feel, it lingers at the edges, as if the presence of the desert sketched around you. Elements of the grapefruit’s biting zest and cardamom’s aromatic spice began this adventure, foreshadowing the cashmeran that’s revealed as Moroccan Medjool dries down. Hints of this are also revealed in the carnation, giving you that soft sensual feel as if you’re touching the petals of the flower, though it’s cashmeran that’s bringing the desert warmth to the composition. It thickens up the translucent feel of Moroccan Medjool with a spicy musky warmth making the sunrise with a woody floral undertone summoning all those beautiful flowers as they merge into a mirage like bouquet. Some soft woody pencil shavings with dry sandy facets again work as a stunning counterpoint to the dark caramel of the dates.

Moroccan Medjool took me a back, the first time I wore it, it’s just before the final dry drown as the dates and flowers merge into one that’s sent my mind racing, I’ve eaten something similar to how this smells, dates adorned and enriched with rose, I can’t quite remember where or when, but each time it reaches this point that hazy memory of enjoyment is triggered. There’s a lovely saltine too, an umami that makes all the sweet florals smell more appealing. Under this date and floral caramel is a dusting of vanilla with a shimmer of veramoss’ cool icing sugar oakmoss fizz and sweetness. Again, it’s those clever translucent layers working and flowing over each other conjuring this complex dark musk that seems to glow like honey yet feels dry like the desert, while also giving you this rich gourmand dessert. Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool is dreamy to wear, as if you’re moving closer to a tempting fantasy that is harder to grasp growing darker but making you keep wanting more.

Notes: Date, Grapefruit, Lemon, Cardamom, Bergamot, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Jasmine, Carnation, Cashmere Wood, Ambergris, Oak Moss, Vanilla and Caramel.

This new Explorer Collection I feel is what Electimuss was missing. Not a house known for being straight up gourmand or fruity with their releases, they’re venturing into new territory and it’s paying off! Moroccan Medjool, and I’m writing this as I am physically in Marrakech, does give a very Moka feel. Dates, spices and a dusting of sweetness is how I’d described Morocco to be. Exploring new territory through fragrances and then comparing them to the real life experience it’s truly magical. I’m located in the USA.

  • J’s review of Electimuss London Moroccan Medjool captivates with its vivid, poetic imagery, painting a sensory journey through a desert sunrise. The description of the fragrance’s evolution from the zesty sparkle of grapefruit and lemon to the rich, caramelized depth of Medjool dates adorned with sensual jasmine and honeyed rose creates a compelling, almost tangible experience. The way J weaves in the mineralic, sandy undertones and the mirage like layering of notes makes the perfume feel both exotic and intimate, evoking a memory of indulgence that’s both elusive and alluring. It’s a beautifully crafted narrative that makes you want to smell the fragrance yourself. I live in Poland, EU.

Hello from Greece! J’s review of Electimuss Moroccan Medjool was absolutely captivating — I was transported by the image of a cool desert morning, unfolding into layers of citrus, spice, and finally the warm, caramel-like sweetness of Medjool dates. I especially loved the description of jasmine and rose adding sensuality and depth to the composition. I’ve tried and enjoyed Electimuss Amber Aquilaria before, but now I’m truly intrigued by Moroccan Medjool. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  • Ah yes – the increasingly popular, stunning bottled excellence that is Electimuss. I am incredibly impressed by their fragrances, their storytelling, and their ability to convey more than just olfactive excellence with each new release of theirs. From the marketing I see on my Facebook feed, to the packaging, descriptive nature of their matrials, and finally, to the scents themselves. Trajan and Imperium are two in my regular rotation, and Medjool is one I have been aching to try. And what I love about J’s review, and what I hope to experience in the fragrance, is how a scent can be more than just a “gourmand”, but actually transport you to a time or a place when you experienced that food. I hope to also experience “hazy memories” when smelling Medjool, and I had to leave my post dripping with as much anticipation as possible, because even though words can’t be as delectable as a fragrance, I’ll do my best to make them so.

  • I’m a huge fan of rose fragrances, and I don’t think I’ve smelled something described as desert like. Very interesting to think about a sweet fruit, rose, and mineral scent. Considering J described it as “umami” I’m thinking this is a very layered and deep scent. Great review. USA

What appeals to me about this fragrance is dates!! I always have them in my fridge and I rarely go long without indulging. Carnation is one of my favorite flowers! My grandparents used to live where dates grow and I have fond memories of date shakes. Medjool is the perfect date as it is the absolute best. My favorite of the brand is Persephone’s Patchouli, the pomegranate, honey and sandalwood are so darn good. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Loving the idea of a date noted fragrance. The accompanying notes make this all the more appealing. No, I don’t have a favorite from the house. US

I have yet to try anything from Electimuss London, but this travel set seems a nice and fun way to discover some of their creations. Looking at the scent profile of the three, I think I would enjoy all of them, but Caspian Cherry would be the favorite.
    Thanks! EU
