CHANEL Chance Eau Splendide Review (Olivier Polge) 2025 +A Bubbly Giveaway

When a new CHANEL fragrance is announced, the world takes notice. Just in time for spring, we are being introduced to a new perfume in the brand’s Chance line: CHANEL Chance Eau Splendide. Perfumer Olivier Polge has created a rosé raspberry accord that brings a bubbly sense of playfulness and charm.

Red fruits and violets are the opening notes, as I spray Chance Eau Splendide for the first time. The aldehydes and ionones of this combination are delicate, giving a clean floral violet scent with undertones of orris. This quickly leads into a full fruity bouquet of raspberry, peach, and red berries. The overall effect is warm and vivacious. Perfumer Olivier Polge

As time passes and the fruity burst of the opening settles on my skin, I begin to appreciate the floral nuances of Chance Eau Splendide. Here is where I find the fragrance most interesting, as the rose and geranium combine in gauzy layers of fruit, floral, and camphor valences. This is a perfume of sweetness and cherished moments that I will be wearing to baby showers, picnics, and garden parties all season.

As evening approaches, I am left with gently powdered, iris-inflected musk and warm cedar on the skin. Splendide indeed.

I absolutely love the Eau Tendre version so I’m very interested to see how the florals compare in this new one. I do live in the contiguous US.

  • I love, love, love a violet note. This mixed with raspberries sounds exactly what is needed now – a perfume of sweetness and cherished moments indeed. Thanks so much for the opportunity to get this under my nose. I’m in the US.

  • Hm, based on the notes and the description, Eau Splendide sounds rather similar to the newest La Vie Est Belle flanker, L’Elixir… both are new releases with raspberry-violet openings, rosy hearts, and cedar bases. Though, the Lancome leans warmer with cocoa butter and leather, so the Chance Eau Splendide is likely fresher and more airy, perfect for daytime and the coming warm weather! Would love to sample! From the contiguous US

  • This sounds like a lovely effervescent spring-time scent. I have enjoyed sampling Chanel Chance in stores but have never explored any flanking expressions. I love the idea of the “gauzy layers,” I imagine the different notes rising and falling and wrapping around you and trailing behind you like a light scarf fluttering in a spring breeze. Sounds like a delightful must-try! I am in MA.

I love the Chanel Chance flankers, so I’m really curious how this new Eau Splendide twists the familiar formula. I’ve seen renewed interest in berry scented fragrances such as raspberry lately, so I’m sure the reception will be quite positive. Thanks for the review! I’m eagerly awaiting its release and can’t wait to try it out for myself.

  • I LOVE raspberry and violet! So excited to get my nose on this one! I really enjoyed the detailed description of the scent journey.

  • Those raspberry and violet top notes sound absolutely divine for spring and summer wear, and I’m always on the hunt for fragrances with sophisticated red fruit accords that aren’t overly sweet or juvenile, so I can’t wait to sample this once its out! I live in the contiguous US

  • I love the impression of red berries on skin, that dries down to softness and powder. People do take notice of new Chanel scents. In maryland

  • As someone who has loved the delicate, feminine Chance eau Tendre and the crisp and sparkling eau Fraiche for years, this new eau Splendide sounds much more vivacious and playful with red fruits, violet, and that rosé raspberry accord- seems perfect for outdoor wedding season here in the south! (US)

  • I don’t own a single Chanel perfume and I have a collection of over 50 bottles. I’ve even tried the exclusif line. I did love the pure garden perfume (not the EDP). I am hoping to love this one. I love powdery, raspberry and iris. Thanks for the chance to try this. USA.

  • Oooh I will always want a violet fragrance! Always! This sounds so cheerful and effervescent. The camphor touch sounds unique for this type of fragrance. Thank you for decanting for that lucky winner! I am located in the U.S.

  • Gosh, the rose and geranium with camphor, powder, and berry sounds so playful and elegant… perfect for both professional settings and casual weekend outings! I love a versatile scent that works beautifully for daytime special events without being too heavy or overwhelming, and this sounds absolutely perfect… thanks for the decant! From US

  • I love the Chance line but do not own a bottle of any of them. This sounds bright, girly and I love raspberry and violet notes. I live in the U.S. in Washington State and would be grateful to win a bottle.

Living in the perpetual humidity of summer in the south means I need fragrances that maintain their complexity and don’t turn cloying in the heat, so the iris and cedar base makes me think this should work great! I do live in the contiguous US.

  • I like that sounds of delicate florals like geranium and roses.perphaps it’s like the diptyque geranium but I’m guessing more sweet and girly with the fruits. I’m mostly a fan of warm Woody, forestry and floral gardens and I know Chanel makes the most universally loved fragrances in their collections. I hope I can try the sample I from fort Lauderdale Florida

  • I adore a prominent violet note since it works so well with my skin, and this in particular- as bright, fruity, and powdery as Rachel describes- sounds like it would be a beautiful addition to my growing collection! NC, USA

  • majohnson25 says:

Wow “gauzy layers” of floral and fruit accords sounds absolutely magical for spring evenings, and I’m looking forward to testing this on my skin when it finally arrives at my local boutique

  • A raspberry-rose-violet floral sounds fun and lively, but the twist of geranium is the most interesting part of this composition, balancing out the opening and bridging to the cedar-musk base. Rachel described it as “gauzy layers”, which sounds lovely.

  • I’ve always enjoyed Chance and its flankers. Chance Eau Splendide sounds beautiful with its notes of raspberry, violet, and iris. I’ve been loving iris fragrances lately, so I would love to try this one! Like Rachel, I can see myself wearing it for picnics and garden parties this spring.

Thank you, Rachel, for the great review and the giveaway! I am located in the contiguous USA.

Olivier Polge creates such lovely compositions at Chanel (and earlier!) that balance innovation with the house’s classic DNA. I’m excited to experience how the raspberry accord develops and transforms throughout its wear time, as strawberry and some other fruits can come across quite juvenile IMO. • Sounds like a more juicy, playful Chance that should work for daytime picnics and evening gatherings through the summer! Perhaps leaning into the Delina dynamic with sweet fresh red fruit and roses atop powdery musk? Though the camphor is certainly an interesting wildcard! Thank you, Rachel, for the decant! Located within the contiguous US.

  • Ooh, the “warm and vivacious” description matches exactly what I look for in a signature fragrance to complement my outgoing personality 😉 so this sounds like just the thing… can’t wait to experience it firsthand and hopefully add it to my collection
    US

  • Ooh I love a good raspberry note! The one raspberry perfume I have, by 100 Bon, is a pretty basic raspberry gourmand (though I love it), so I would be interested to try how it pairs with the peach and orris. I am from New England, USA.

  • A sweet fizzy raspberry breeze, delicate flowers, and a hint of icy camphor… I so appreciate the evolution of a well-crafted perfume, so I’m most interested in seeing how those delicate floral nuances develop between the airy fruity opening and the powdery musk drydown. I can’t wait to sample this!
