Make Me A Fragrance That Smells Like Love Quote

In 1947, the perfumers Paul Vacher and Jean Carles were asked by designer Christian Dior to “make me a fragrance that smells like love”. The result was Miss Dior. So what does love smell like?  We chose three Valentine’s Day Perfumes for 2025 that speak to love and feelings that come straight from the heart – Michelyn Camen –Editor in Chief

Best Fragrances for Valentine's Day 2025

3 For Valentine’s Day 2025 (image by Steven)

Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir (Harry Fremont and Jacques Cavallier) Part of the Private Blend collection in 2007 Noir de Noir is a memorable rose-patchouli fragrance that smells wonderful for Valentine’s Day. Tom Ford Noir de Noir is a study in contrasts- woody, floral, sweet, spicy and flavorful. Rose, saffron, and truffle enhance the blend and (I have the original bottle) lasts through the next morning. A great choice for Valentine’s Day 2025 (or any day really). – MIchelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Notes: Saffron, truffle, rose, patchouli, tree moss, oud, vanilla

Strangelove NYC MeltMyHeart (Christophe Laudamiel): This fragrance lives up to its name. It is my number one choice for Valentine’s Day 2025, because wearing MeltMyHeart REALLY melts my heart (and anyone around me every time I wear it). The dusty cocoa¸ an overdose of buttery orris (one of the most expensive ingredients in the world) and ylang feel plush and creamy and are intertwined in a sensual (sustainable) oud embrace. More important than pleasing others, it reminds me that I wear perfume for myself. I feel more “me” wearing it, and that is everything you can ever want.-Michelyn

Notes: orris butter, dark chocolate, ylang, oud

Navitus Parfums Amour Infinite (Bertrand Duchaufour): This is Steven’s recommendation for Valentine’s Day 2025. Amour Infinite is a modern and elegant fragrance that exudes romance and sophistication. Be unique and unforgettable as you experience the luxurious blend of ingredients infinitely enveloping you in a cloud of love and passion. –Steven Gavrielatos

Top Notes: Italian bergamot, red fruits, pomegranate, pineapple, grapefruit, orange blossom, honeysuckle, rose and jasmine; Base notes; white chocolate, Madagascan vanilla, heliotrope, driftwood and sandalwood

These three fragrances are good fragrances. I especially love love Amour Infinite, and I always look forward to Steven videos. His expertise in fragrances are top tier and I especially love to learn how to PRONOUNCE the fragrance brand and the name of the fragrance.

  • Love the articles! Being a newbie to the fragrance world, these articles have been fascinating to read and have helped strengthen my knowledge of the field. Of course, along with the articles, have been watching Redolessence on YouTube and I enjoy them very much.

Keep up the hard work and will of course continue to support!

Steven, did an Amazing job describing these fragrances. And reading the descriptions in Michelyn’s review..Smelling beautiful and delicious is definitely something us fragheads want to do on VDAY…So i would love to win this bottle. I live in Orlando Florida, USA

  • When I think of Valentines day scents I think of either something with rose and a little sweet or dark and sexy. Steven has a way of describing scents that make sense. He’s very knowledgeable and I appreciate that. I also like that his channel caters to both men and women. I agree with Michelyn that you wear a scent for yourself and how it makes you feel. Compliments are nice but a scent you love can make you feel beautiful sexy and confident.

  • I have only recently become interested in fragrance on a deeper level and have been amazed by the beauty and complexity that is available! I find a lot of fragrance content on YouTube can lean very gourmand and or vanilla heavy and I’m personally not a gourmand / vanilla fragrance lover which is why I have been loving Steven’s content! He is so knowledgeable and passionate about fragrance and it really makes watching his videos that much more enjoyable!! Happy Valentine’s Day ♥️

  • Tom Ford’s Noir de Noir is my favorite one from the list. Every year I look forward to Steven’s video on valentine’s list and he nails it every time. I’d like to try Amour Infinite. I live in USA.

  • I love Michelyns comment, “More important than pleasing others, it reminds me that I wear perfume for myself.” It’s so true! I don’t wear fragrance for complements, I wear it for me. I appreciate Steven’s review. We all need a good V-Day fragrance whether we’re at single, coupled, or grouped. I’d never heard of “MeltmyHeart” by Strangelove nyc, I’m intrigued. Thank you for the thorough review of Tom Ford Noir de Noir.

I have really enjoyed Steven’s video specifically on brands, note breakdown and even how to apply them. I’ve never heard of the navitus brand or the melt your heart and I’m curious to learn more about this brand and test them out. I have 2 Tom ford’s for myself & 1 for my husband. I work at salon and part time at Sephora a year now and have gotten more introduced to some great designers slight leaning niches but I have been opened up to an entire new world relating to perfumery through Steven’s channel.

I really liked the description of Amore Infinite. My husband and I will celebrating our first Valentines day, this year, as a married couple.
He usually “hates” my perfumes, has not liked a single one to date, LOL, but I shall be try and get my hands on a sample of Amore Infinite, and hope it sways him around 😀
We live in Sydney and shall be going to The Botanic Gardens of Sydney, this scent will be perfect 🙂
Have a wonderful day everyone 🙂

I do agree with Steven that the main reason these fragrances are so expensive is because of the quality of the materials. Yes, some may say Tom Ford is a bit overpriced for what it is but can’t deny it’s an iconic and high quality fragrance. Amour Infinite is a beautiful bottle, highly suited for Valentine’s Day as the color it’s a blend of pink with red tones; announcing what one can expect from it. StrangeLove NYC is a house I’ve heard of (because of their price) and MeltMyHeart does seem to be of the utmost quality specially because of the arte orris butter. Indeed these are three fragrances that give off a Valentine’s vibe and like Michelyn said, fragrances that smell like love in the end. I’m located in the USA and thanks to Navitus for the generous giveaway, yet again.

I enjoyed the way that Steven was passionate about the fragrances and was able to articulate his passion so well without it coming across insincere , I’m genuinely so happy I came across the Redolessence YouTube channel and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the channel.
I also enjoyed the brief history behind the Miss Dior in Michelyn’s intro.

May the odds be in my favor as I’d love to get my nose on this fragrance.

First of off I just want to say I look forward to all your videos I’m always looking forward to your thoughts on fragrances, I am a tuberose lover, I also know that you also like tuberose ,so finally I know someone that actually likes that it makes me so happy… Much love and Respect in all you do, keep bringing us happiness

  • BeckaBella3 says:

Always a pleasure hearing Steven describe fragrances. Amore Infinite sounds so beautiful and elegant, definitely calls to me the most…would love to get a bottle of this luxurious sounding fragrance;) California, USA.

  • While I do love to turn heads and be complimented on smelling nice, like Michelyn, I wear perfume for myself. Even when I’m not going anywhere, I don whatever fragrance to suit my mood… And after Steven’s Valentine’s Day recommendations video, I’m in the mood for love! Steven had mentioned Amour Infinite in a previous video and the presentation has me obsessed! Plus, pomegranate, red berries, and rose sounds right up my alley. Noir de Noir sounds lovely, too. Especially with how much Steven seems to like it lol. Is this unisex? He said that he’s worn it so I’m not sure if it’s masculine or unisex. MeltMyHeart’s pricetag would explain why I’m not at all familiar with it lol But given the notes listed I understand why. Michelyn, you had me at “sensual oud embrace”.

  • Shontel Bordelon says:

I love Steven’s description, “it’s illustrious, it’s beguiling” and “fragrance has no gender”…. perfectly said. I’d love to try this fragrance. It sounds amazing!!

  • Joel Teppang says:

Noir de Noir is interesting. I love Rose & Patchouli fragrances but the addition of the truffle note makes it very unique. I’m wondering how it compares to Black Orchid edp? Well, we’ll see I guess….

  • I am a new subscriber to your channel and have really enjoyed your content. I really enjoy they way your describe the fragrances, the notes and how they make you feel. You have such a unique connection to the fragrances. I really like the videos of the older perfume fragrance that you still revisit on occasion.
