“A tale of transformation that began in the delicate moment between night and dawn when the Croatian landscape emerges from darkness to a palette of enchanting colours.” Quote from the brand.

Eveilleur is a new perfume brand founded by Dajana Jukić and the first to be created in Dalmatia (Croatia). For her first triptych, DSCVR ME! I am, Not Innocent, she enlisted master perfumers Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson to translate the beauty of the Croatian landscape olfactively to bring her vision to reality. This journey is centered around raw materials indigenous to this region.

The name, concept and presentation have been chosen to reflect a joyful and unique approach. The vibrant frosted glass flacons, dragonfly motif cap, high quality 3D gloss branding on the box show an eye for detail which makes éveìlleur stand out from the crowd of brands vying for attention in an overly saturated market. The question for me was, would the scent itself grab my attention?

éveìlleur DSCVR ME was the first in the collection to be created in collaboration with Olivier Cresp (Firmenich) and is described as “A stormy voyage into the unknown… the scent bathes in its own shadow, demandingly selfishly beautiful, crashing wildly from its peak.” A tribute to the Adriatic Sea, éveìlleur DSCVR ME is a vertically structured scent which is complex in nature and transforms wildly through wearing it.

Opening, DSCVR ME reminds me of crashing waves against rocks. There’s energy to the perfume from the beginning. This is courtesy of a blend of bergamot Italy Fraction Essence and eucalyptus buds which seem to create a freezing foam like fizz. Whilst it is evident from the top the central theme of the composition is immortelle (everlasting absolute) a compelling floral ingredient given its complex nature it has a resinous quality which not only underpins the scent but also allows other ingredients to complement it. Its slightly animalic and salty skin-like quality fuses beautifully with the freshness of Calone.

As it transitions éveìlleur DSCVR me shifts gears with the introduction of Lentisque Absolute MD in the heart. It has a calming yet malevolent duality, being both balsamic and chocolatey which was very unexpected, brooding, as if one is within the eye of a storm. These aspects work well with oak moss in the deep base of the perfume, Ambrox and musks are utilised in concert to push it to the edge of being wearable yet truly challenging and interesting. What I “discovered” is that  DSCVR ME is not a typical marine scent, it treads a different path; a perfume of freedom, power and unique style. Those searching for a fragrance which goes off the well beaten track, éveìlleur DSCVR ME might just be for you.

Top Notes : Bergamot Italy Fraction Essence, Eucalyptus Buds, Everlasting Absolute
Heart Notes: Salty Watery Accord , Jasmine Absolute, Lentisque Absolute MD
Bottom Notes : Ambrox®, MusksOak Moss.

The imagery and the bottle describe exactly what the fragrance is about which is the feeling of being by the coastline. Not a cray complicated note breakdown yet direct enough to transmit the meaning the owner of the brand wanted to put out. I’ve never been to Croatia but it’s in my list of places to visit and Incan only imagine what the breeze and other aromas at the coastline feel like. This one doesn’t look like it goes on the marine/fishy way but rather still gives the sensation of the sea combining the right notes. This is certainly a house to watch for in 2025 and beyond. I’m located in the USA

  • I love the idea of a scent inspired by the Adriatic Sea and the Croatian coastline—it’s such a fresh perspective. The way Karl describes the perfume as “selfishly beautiful” and stormy is so intriguing, especially with those unexpected notes like Lentisque Absolute and the salty skin-like quality of immortelle. It’s not often you hear about a marine scent that’s this bold and complex. Definitely adding this to my must-try list—it sounds like a real adventure in a bottle!

I love aquatics, and I think one that is inspired by Croatian landscape and with ingredients indeginous to the area makes this fragrance very intriguing. I live in Maryland USA.

  • Karl describes the scent as a “stormy voyage into the unknown,” evoking the untamed spirit of the sea and the tranquility that follows a storm and I personally found that very interesting. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • The Croatian coast is on my bucket list of places to visit. Several of my friends who have visited have raved about the relatively unspoiled beauty of the area. DSCVR ME sounds like a wonderful representation of the Adriatic with its mediterranean elements of florals and citrus and marine accords, oakmoss, ambrose and musks. MD, USA.

The fact this is not a typical marine scent has definitely piqued my interest. The owner Dajana has definitely picked the right perfumers for this composition. Thanks a million from the UK

  • As soon as I read Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson helped create DSCVR ME, I was immediately intrigued. Described as “a stormy voyage into the unknown”, my interest is peeked even further. The combination of eucalyptus and bergamot sounds invigorating, while the immortelle must really add complexity to the scent. I really loved Karl’s comment about the Lentisque Absolute having a calming yet malevolent duality. As he mentions, DSCVR ME really sounds like an interesting take on a marine scent. I would love to own a bottle! Thank you, Karl, for the great review, and thank you to éveìlleur for the generous giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • I’m a HUGE fan of eucalyptus and Lentisque and love oak moss, immortelle and bergamot. I am not a fan of Calone but with these other notes and the way it’s described I am super interested to try it. Plus the first fragrance house from Croatia? I’m all for it! Such an incredibly gorgeous country. And we can put our faith in Cresp and Lorson certainly,
