Best Winter Fragrances of 2024

Best Winter Fragrances for 2024 image by Steven (Left to Right: INeKE Jaipur Chai, Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee, Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Cuir Cuba Intense

December 21, 2024 is the official beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere-the winter solstice and the longest night of the year. For this curation we chose the Best Winter Fragrances for 2024 that were smoky, spicy, and wonderfully warming. Although it was difficult to choose only three, we find ourselves returning to each, year after year. Here are Steven’s and Michelyn’s co-curated choices for three of the Best Winter Fragrances for 2024.

Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee (Bertrand Duchaufour): One of the three inaugural fragrances from the independent brand headed by the brilliantly talented Creative director Neela Vermiere, who grew up in India. Trayee, whose Sanskrit name refers to the first three Vedas (the oldest, most sacred books of India), is one of the most transporting and complex incense fragrances, I have experienced. Trayee is a CaFleureBon Modern Masterpiece) and is one of my favorite winter fragrances, twelve years since its debut in 2012. Perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour uses a high percentage of natural ingredients: cardamom, clove, elemi and ginger which create a sweet-spicy cloud. Creamy jasmine blossoms dipped in golden amber swirl around Laotian oud and incense. Steven picks up the green notes (the vetivers, patchouli, basil and ganja effects?), but I don’t pull that on my skin. Deeply contemplative and comforting-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Top notes: blue ginger from Madagascar, elemi oil, cinnamon bark, ganja effects, blackcurrant absolute, basil,  Heart notes: Sambac jasmine absolute, Egyptian jasmine absolutecardamom absoluteclovesaffronsandalwood, Base notes: Javanese vetiver, Haitian vetiverincense, Mysore sandalwood oil, patchouli, myrrh, vanilla, cedar, amber notes, oudh from Laos, oakmoss

Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Cuir Cuba Intense (Patricia de Nicolaï) 2014:  One of the most interesting and inspiring perfumers I have interviewed as Editor-in-Chief of ÇaFleureBon is Patricia de Nicolai, who I always refer to as “The First Lady (Boss) of Niche”. For those not familiar with her lineage Madame is a grand-daughter of Guerlain’s founder, Pierre Guerlain, and a niece of Jean-Jacques Guerlain. Here is what she had to say about one of Cuir Cuba Intense: “Although I hate smoking, I have always loved the scent of tobacco leaves used in the making of cigars.’ explains Madame de Nicolaï. ‘When I was a child, at my parents’, I appreciated when I was asked to go and collect the cigar box’. What a pleasure to open it and to smell these scents…It was a fragrance that really transported me! Many years after, I have found this scent in my lab thanks to the tobacco leaf absolute, starting point of Cuir Cuba Intense.”Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

P.S. Later on I found out that it is composed of 90.9 % all natural ingredients. -Michelyn

Notes: Aniseed, Liquorice, Sicilian lemon, Spearmint, Sage, Lavender, PelargoniumYlang-ylang, Magnolia, Coriander, Tobacco, Hay, PatchouliCedarMusk, Civet.

Joyeux Anniversaire to Patricia de Nicolaï, whose birthday is today 12/5/2024

INeKE Jaipur Chai (Ineke Ruhland) 2019: Ineke Ruhland is a classically trained (she taught marketing to Givaudan’s Yann Vasnier at ISIPICAartisan perfumer based in San Francisco and Jaipur Chai is to date, her first gourmand fragrance. Jaipur Chai is a cozy scent with traditional chai tea spices of cinnamon, cloves topped by frothy steamed milk. The ginger smells freshly ground and along with pepper adds piquancy so that the perfume never smells like it is from Starbucks. Rounded with rose wrapped in suede, and polished by smooth woods –  the perfect scent to spritz during a blustery, freezing night when the lights are flickering and icy snow is piling on top of the window panes. –Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Notes: Black tea, cardamomginger, cinnamon, pepper, cloverosecedar wood, guaiac wood, vanilla, cream, suede, musk.

Although it wasn’t planned, each of our perfume picks for winter 2024 are owned by women!-MC

  • Jaipur Chai Sounded super cool, because I never knew steamed oat milk was a scent until Steven listed it.
But cardamom, ginger and cinnamon sound like a cozy warm winter vibe scent that will boost my collection for the winter time.
    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
    USA

  • Jaipur Chai sound wonderful, and I appreciate knowing that it is not Starbucky in scent as that can get cloying quickly.Thank you to the brands for offering the giveaway. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada where it is cold enough to pull out all the winter scents

  • AromaDulce73 says:

Warm, resonance & green sounds really nice. Wouldn’t mind trying Trayee.

Jaipur Chai sounds nice as well with the cinnamon & clove.

Cuir Cuba Intense would have been my choice out of 3 because of that tobacco.

Creamy jasmine flowers together with natural ingredients such as cardamom, cloves, elemi and ginger, which create a sweet-spicy cloud, have become a very interesting fragrance. I am from EU

  • Amazing reviews as always!
Based on the notes, I like Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Cuir Cuba Intense the best, but based on reviews, I would choose Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee! After all, it’s one of Michelyn’s favorite winter fragrances, twelve years since its debut in 2012. Also, Steven finds it beautiful and complex, warm, resinous and green. That sounds amazing!

My choice would be Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee. I am somewhat adventurous when it comes to fragrance however, I have great respect and admiration for fragrances that have proven themselves time after time, keeping fragrance connoisseurs’ devotion.

  • These are a wonderful collection of perfect winter scents. I’ve never smelled any of them. Though I am a big fan of Neela Vermeire fragrances.

I absolutely love the notes of Jaipur Chai and would choose that one, if I win. I love fragrances with ginger (Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit is one of my faves!). But the addition of cinnamon, clove and black tea makes it sound like the coziest perfume!

    I live in the USA.

  • I liked both Steven’s video review and Michelyn’s review. I have never tried these three perfumes, so the descriptions sound alluring while the scents seem cozy and interesting. I do hope that I will win Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee as both Steven and Michelyn described it as complex and complex screams my name. I like fragrances which develop through time and depending on the weather or skin chemistry you can catch different notes. Jaipur Chai also sounds lovely! It has three notes that I simply adore – cinnamon, ginger and milk. There is something about lactonic fragrances that just makes me happy.
    I live in Bulgaria.

Many thanks for this opportunity. <3

  • I would love to win Trayee. I loved Steven’s video reviews because of how engaging they are and they are incredibly helpful when I want to chose a fragrance. I loved how detailed and creative Michelyn’s reviews were they were also very helpful and I saw an interesting perspective on more winter fragrances and particular notes. I live in Trzebnica, Poland, EU.

  • What inspired choices for winter-perfect, cozy scents. There are so many fragrances out there, but each one chosen by Michelyn and Steven for this year’s “best winter fragrances” is a winner.

When Steven sprayed that flacon of Trayee, I wanted to push my hand through the computer screen to get some droplets on my wrist! I absolutely love cardamom and ginger, and with jasmine at the heart, this sounds incredible.

However, it’s the Jaipur Chai that really pulls at my heart. I am drinking a cup of chai right now, so with Ineke’s fragrance, I can get those delightful chai spices (with the touch of rose that Michelyn describes as “wrapped in suede” – how lovely) to last well beyond my cup of tea.

And thanks for the convenient links to the discovery sets!

Please enter me into the draw for Jaipur Chai. I remain in Chicago, USA.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the nice writeup and video.

Michelyn’s writeup on Ineke Jaipur Chai is spot on. It absolutely does not smell like a Starbucks Chai Latte, but rather a more realistic chai with softer edges.

I really liked Stevens take on Trayee. I’ll always wanted to try this fragrance. Would love to win it.

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • your.solar.engeneer says:

The 3 co-curated fragrances by Redolessence and Michelyn Camen are leaning on the smoky , resinous and spicy side. I often reach for such fragrances myself during this time of year. Nicolai Parfumeur Createur i know , the two other brands Neela Vermeire Creations and Ineke are new to me.
“The First Lady (Boss) of Niche” ? Wow . Exactly like Patricia de Nicolai hate smoking but love the smell of tobacco leaves. Ineke Jaipur Chai is Indian chai with cinnamon and cloves
With the high percentage of natural ingredients, lots of spices, resins and ginger Trayee intrigues me the most . The sweet-spicy cloud with or without Redolessence thoughts of green notes is truly comforting .
    Good times continue, thank you

Jaipur Chai with Cinnamon, Cardamom and steamed milk sounds comforting and delightful to me! I’ve never had a fragrance with that combination. It would be wonderful to have the opportunity to wear this scent! Thank you giving us the chance to be in this giveaway! Thanks ÇaFleureBon and Redolessence!

  • So I had no idea Nicolas’s Cuir Cuba Intense had such a high amount of naturals! Although I know she often uses quite a bit and her work is so much better for it! I’m so curious to try it now.
I love Ineke and Neela’s work with Ashoka being my favorite Neela Vermiere and Gilded Lily by Ineke Ruhlamd being the other. What a tough choice!!! I dont have a full bottle of either actually. I guess Trayée will be the move if I’m so lucky.
    Excellent winter choices!!!
    I am in USA.

  • Ramses Perez says:

This is how you know different people experience fragrances in different manners. Steven gets some green-ness from Neela Vermeire’s Trayee while Michelyn gets more of the sweet-spicy combo. One must really try the scent on YOUR skin to get the full experience. These are 3 very unique choices as I have not had the chance to try them but Inhave seen other videos about them. Nicolas Parfumeur’s Cuir Cuba Intense is a fragrance I must try as I’m Cuban myself and do also happen to love the smell of tobacco despite not smoking and we love a brand that uses mostly all natural ingredients too. Ineke’s Jaipur Chai is for the tea lovers to wear on a cold night like the ones we’re currently have in the northeast. A great list and with a varied selection covering tobacco, spices/sweet and tea fragrances. Women have been pushing the envelope and being creative and innovative in perfumery so it’s great that the minds behind these fragrances are all women. Another great selection of scents. I’m located in the USA.

  • What a tough choice! I’ve sampled — and like — Jaipur Chai. And I’ve never gotten my nose on Trayee…or any of the other Neela Vermeire perfumes. And yet, both Steven and Michelyn make Trayee sound so intriguing…especially since they emphasize different aspects of the fragrance. (I actually watched Steven’s video from about a year ago in which he just reviewed this fragrance alone…and there he seems more in line with Michelyn’s take on it.) Both seem to emphasize Trayee’s harmonized complexity. At any rate, though I’m tempted by Jaipur Chai, I think I’d go with Trayee if I had the choice. I’m in Oklahoma, USA.

  • fresh_and_clean says:

    Howdies from Germany
I first watched Redolessence video and then went to Michelyn Camen written review, and after Neela Vermeire Creations part I realized they are not on the same page when it comes to Trayee. According to Michelyn the fragrance is a complex incense with sweet-spicy cloud, but to Redolessence is more resinous and quite green too.
Smoking is a habit I genuinely don’t understand yet at the same time like Patricia de Nicolai I really like the smell of tobacco leaves . Don’t know what tobacco leaf absolute is but I know i need to try Cuir Cuba Intense.
Ineke Jaipur Chai is Indian chai tea rounded with rose and wrapped is suede.
Because of the high percentage of natural ingredients, famous perfumer like Bertrand Duchaufour and the deeply contemplating part I’d choose Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee
    Thank you

  • What an incredible curation of winter fragrances! Michelyn’s written reviews are so vivid and immersive, they almost make me feel like I’m experiencing the scents firsthand. The way she described Trayee as a “CaFleureBon Modern Masterpiece” really caught my attention—incense, oud, and the perfect blend of spices sound like pure magic for cold, introspective nights. It’s fascinating to learn about Neela Vermeire’s connection to India and how it’s woven into the fragrance’s story.

Steven’s video reviews are always so detailed and thoughtful. I love how he dives into the composition and really breaks down the layers of each fragrance. His passion for Trayee and its complexity shines through—I appreciate his take on the green notes that didn’t stand out for Michelyn. It’s cool to see two perspectives on the same fragrance!

If I were lucky enough to win, I’d choose Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee. The blend of cardamom, Laotian oud, and amber sounds perfect for creating a cozy, meditative mood during long winter evenings. Thanks for this amazing giveaway and for sharing such inspiring reviews!

I am from the EU, Germany

  • Oh I loved both reviews, I own and love Trayee and totally agree on what Mychelin is saying about it, I also don’t pick up the green notes what Steven mentions, maybe it’s a male-female skin chemistry difference?

Anyways, if I won, I would choose Jaipur Chai, which I have tested in the past and ended up on my whishlist but never managed to make its way in my collection.

    I live in the EU

  • I’m really interested in Trayee, in a time of my life where I’m being attracted by notes that before I couldn’t stand, like incense or strong spices. I think that’s the beauty of the life, in constant mutability as we collect new experience.
    I’m from Italy

  • I have been meaning to try Neela Vermeire’s Trayee for a long time, and Michelyn’s review only fuels that desire. I’ve been a long-time admirer of Bertrand Duchaufour
(Dzongkha remains one of my all-time favorites) and Trayee’s inspiration from Indian rituals and its intricate composition of resins, florals, and spices promises an unforgettable olfactory journey. Nothing more wonderful than cozying up in a cloud of spiced warmth while the cold wind blows outside. Thank you for the opportunity to participate!
    Based in Spain (EU)

  • Great choices for winter! Stephen really sells the complexity and uniqueness of Trayee in his review. I’m curious about how the green notes would play against the warmer spices and resins (although Michelyn notes she doesn’t get the green notes on her skin – that makes me even more curious about this complex fragrance!)
Winter has suddenly arrived in the eastern US and I’d love to try Trayee for these cold months! Best wishes from NJ, and have a wonderful holiday season!

  • Leonardo Cisneros says:

    Hello,
I’m interested in the ingredients of fragrances like Jaipur Chai, that would be my choice if I get lucky.
    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
    Montreal, Canada.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Another great video by Steven. It appears each of these fragrances have something special to offer for the season. All seem to envelop one in a comforting vibe. I’d be happy to add any of these 3 to my collection. However, the one speaking to me right this moment is Neela Vermeire’s Trayee. This would be my choice, should I win.
    USA

  • Michelyn mentioned Bertrand Duchaufour, one of my favorite Perfumers. I learned that he uses
natural ingredients in his fragrances. Steven said that a darker richer fragrance would be nice in the colder months and I agree. Trayee definitely is a wonderful scent to rock in winter. I do spritz it often when its cooler outside. If lucky, I’d choose Jaipur Chai. Thanks for another awesome draw. MI USA

  • Thank you for this generous opportunity! Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee has been on my wishlist for ages, as I’ve heard incredible things about its complex and evocative composition. Living in the Romania / EU, it’s so rare to find her fragrances locally, which makes the discovery set such a great idea for exploration. I’d love the chance to experience Trayee and other masterpieces from this unique line. Fingers crossed!

  • To wear a fragrance every winter for 12 yrs is really something! That’s why I would love to win trayee. Also Bertrand Duchaufour is my favorite perfumer. Ashoka is my favorite from the brand Neela Vermeire
    Eu

  • Winter is definitely the time for smoky, spicy warming fragrances. Excellent choices as always but I’m most drawn to Neely Vermiere Creations Trayee. I appreciate the high percentage of natural ingredients used in the formulation. It’s interesting that Steven experiences the green notes (vetiver, patchouli, basil, ganja effects) on skin more than Michelyn does. MD, USA.

  • The written reviews make Trayee seem the best fit for me, as I adore incense notes and that warm cloud of spices sounds like the perfect scent from September through Spring! I do like a tobacco scent, but strong scents don’t work well on me and Steven did scare me off Cuir Cuba a bit! The Jaipur Chai does tempt in the warm spices, but milky notes can go weird on me, so again, Trayee sounds like the magic, based on both reviews! I live in the US.

  • Eris.can.swatch.kaos says:

What a gorgeous list! My choice, though hard to pick one, would be Jaipur Chai by Ineke. Steven’s mention of the steamed milk accord really got me interested, it’s more than just a spicy fragrance. The note breakdown listed is a blend of perfect-for-me notes and I can’t wait to smell this. My birthday is coming up on Solstice, I might have to indulge. I’m a Redolessence subscriber and follow Cafleurebon and Steven on ig. I live in Oregon.

  • rachel wiener says:

I have a sample set form Neela Vermeire and the first I drained was Trayee as it was my favorite. Glad to hear I’m in good company with Michelyn and Steven. It’s so interesting to hear how the perfume shows different facets on each of their skins! I appreciated how Steven highlighted the perfumer Bertrand Duchafour and mentioned some of his other masterpieces. He really is a genius. Obviously I’m picking Trayee. In USA

  • I was reminded by the written portion Trayee is composed of a high percentage of natural ingredients. The video introduced me to Cuir Cuba Intense. I’ll look into a sample. For the draw I choose Trayee. US

  • Well, if Trayee is one of Michelyn’s favorites AND it sounds wonderful, AND Steven loves it as well (I watched his full review as well) worth all the warm cozy notes and complexity, I would love to win Trayee. I will need to order a sample of Jaipur Chai now (perhaps the sample set) and would love to try Cuir Cuba as well. I love winter scents, and have Stash Double Spice Chai tea on hand all the time. Thank you for the generous draw and the lovely reviews. I’m in the us

  • My first introduction the world of niche perfumery was from watching reviews from Steven’s Redolessence YouTube channel and discovered cefleurbon from his recommendations.

The Cuir Cuba was an immediate fascination. I’ve had a new interest in leather scents (Hermes Barenia, Tom of Finlan) and, agree, I am not a smoker, but find I love tobacco notes (Etat Libre Jasmin Et Cigarrette). I love herbal, wood, and unique so the aniseed, liquorice, sage, hay, cedar, and civet make me very curious.

It was hard to pick between Cuir Cuba and Trayee. I enjoyed Steven’s brief overview and also watched his more in depth review of Trayee. As a woman I am not limited by fragrances that may be perceived as masculine and am very interested in Trayee. The balance of spice and woods fascinates similarly with my I interest in herbal, unique scents. The vanilla makes me curious as it sounds like an incredibly layered and elegant scent. All in all – thank you for the introductions and love the content and education!

  • What a beautifully curated selection of winter fragrances for 2024! Michelyn’s written reviews are always evocative and transportive, and Steven’s video reviews perfectly complement the descriptions, adding a personal touch. I especially loved the backstories behind these perfumes—Trayee’s connection to the Vedas, Jaipur Chai’s cozy gourmand character, and the nostalgia of Cuir Cuba Intense evoked by Patricia de Nicolai’s childhood memories. While all three are intriguing, my favorite would have to be Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Cuir Cuba Intense. Its combination of tobacco leaf, spices, and natural ingredients is truly irresistible, perfectly embodying winter warmth and elegance. I hope to win Cuir Cuba Intense, which will be my happy vibe this winter! Greetings from NY 😉

  • Since Michelyn considers Tryaee a masterpiece and a farovite for her for winter, this would be my choice. I’ve smelled Cuit Cuba which is very nice, but I’d rather smell that on my husband. I love Betrand Duchafor. One of my favorite perfumers also. I didn’t realize until Steven said that Trayee has a bit of green. Nice that Steven this of this first when the winter turns cold. I must try that Jaipur scent, Steven doesn’t lead us wrong. Thanks! USA.

  • A tough choice, but I’m feeling a bit safer today, so I choose Jaipur Chai. Ineke is such a special perfumer, as is Bertrand Duchaufour. I love both cozy and green, but the way Steven inhaled the Jaipur Chai, I just felt it. And Michelyn made me yearn for a snowy night, and a feeling of peace with Jaiper Chai, a favorite book and a loyal dog. I live in NY.

  • This is a great list, though of these, I’ve only had the chance to try Jaipur Chai. I noted Michelyn’s comment about the green notes in Trayee; interesting how much skin can change the way a fragrance wears. Steven actually highlighted Trayee’s green aspects in his review. I’m particularly intrigued by Cuir Cuba Intense, for its rendering of unsweetened tobacco, a scent I’ve wanted to experience in a fragrance for a while. Steven pointed out that hay notes can smell autumnal—I agree, though I hadn’t made that connection.

I’m in the USA. If I were to win, I’d choose Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee. Thanks!

  • Bette Matsen says:

Just discovered your Youtube channel today. I’ve been on a discovery of new perfumes lately (budget allowing) due to my sister-in-law’s influence. Based on the description Neela Vermeire’s Treyee sounds wonderful with the warm, spicy notes. Sounds like a winter sleigh ride or relaxing by a cozy fire. Jaipur Chai by INeKe on the other hand seems perfect for a Christmas Party – especially with steamed milk notes. Thank you for your reviews as they give a novice like myself information on scents and what would best suite my personal style.

  • This is my favorite time of year for fragrance since I tend to love heavily spiced formulas. I have tried each of these, and own Jaipur Chai (thanks to this very giveaway a few years ago). Trayee is the one that is calling me most this time around. I like the idea of it providing a contemplative aura, as Michelyn mentioned, and the tantalizing fruits Steven spoke about make it sound quite lovely. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA..

  • foreverscents says:

I always enjoy Michelyn’s seasonal recommendations. I haven’t tried the three that she recommends, but I enjoyed reading her enthusiasm for each. I was especially interested in what she wrote about Trayee. I have only trued Bombay Bling from Neela Vermeire Creations. It is exuberant! The incense and spice notes in Trayee sound perfect for this time of year. Steven also mentioned its green, wood, and resinous notes.
Cuir Cuba Intense and Jaipur Chai also sound perfect for the season, for the colder months when coziness is welcome. The spiciness and warmth of both appeal to me.
I would choose Trayee if I were the winner of the giveaway.
    I live in the USA.

  • I found it interesting that Steven felt greenness in Trayee, but Michelyn didn’t. I’m curious if it’s a difference in perception or in the way the perfume sits on their respective skins.

Thank you for this giveaway (I’d like to enter, please) and for your reviews, as always!

    I live in Texas, USA.

  • Respect for the fine cold weather picks
Cuir Cuba Intense is one of my husband’s favorite fragrances, reading Michelyn Camen reviews and watching Redolessence video made me want to smell Trayee and Jaipur Chai as soon as possible.
Both fragrance are somewhat similar, with distant Indian connection between them. Trayee is more spicy , more resinous and there’s incense, one of my favorite notes, Jaipur Chai on the other hand is more lactonic and there’s suede leather.
I like when incense fragrances are more complex, just like in Trayee, there’s a lot of different spices, a touch of sweetness and even jasmine.
Thanks to Michelyn Camen and Redolessence i know Neela Vermeire did a splendid work , Trayee would be fabulous
    Thank you kindly, from EU

  • Trayee is charismatic fragrance , warm , creamy and even dark . The cardamom, vanilla and jasmine, natural ingredients , Bertrand Duchaufour too are Trayee most appealing features
Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Cuir Cuba Intense I like for its thickness , tobacco and Patricia de Nicolai making it on her own.
The brand of Ineke I’ve never heard before Jaipur Chai feels like a cup of tea I’d like to drink if I’m walking on the outside in January.
I thought about it and if I happen to be the winner I’d choose Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee
Thank you Michelyn Camen and Redolessence for the reviews ,and of course for the generosity

  • IvanVelikov says:

It’s freezing on the outside, warming Winter fragrances is exactly what we all need right now.
Trayee is my favorite Neela Vermeire fragrance, I’m pleasantly surprised it’s part of Steven and Michelyn Winter picks. The sweet and spicy cloud is so comfortable. It’s a bit strange Steven is not getting a lot of sweetness in Trayee, but his skin is different than mine i guess because i don’t smell the green notes.
Ineke Jaipur is tea wrapped in rose , and steamed milk fragrance.
I’d tuck my scarf under the collar of my suit , spray some Trayee and be found of the experience , my choice.
Thank you Michelyn , Steven , Neela Vermeire, Ineke

  • I’d say Massive YES to uniqueness , upscale niche and indie perfumery, daring Winter approaches mixed two native to India , and one to Cuba aesthetics . All Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee , Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Cuir Cuba Intense and Ineke Jaipur Chai I’ll gladly wear , both quite impressive. Trayee is made by Bertrand Duchaufour, it’s smoky resinous , there’s ginger and certain level of complexity and refinement , my choice.
    Thanks a bunch

  • Hey , I first discovered and already sampled Neela Vermeire Creations fragrances watching Redolessence videos , and now he and Michelyn Camen are including Trayee in their list of favorite cold weather fragrances wow
No wonder Neela Vermeire grew up in India, and the fragrance name refers to the first three Vedas , Trayee smells like Indian spiced chai tea with milk mixed with incense con burning. Not only smells fantastic, but like Redolessence said it’s very strong too. There is someting slightly grenn i agree , but a grenn fragrance ? I don’t think so , more incense heavy like Michelyn Camen said
Patricia de Nicolai needs no introduction , The First Lady (Boss) of Niche , Cuir Cuba Intense is high quality tobbaco scent
Ineke Jaipur Chai seems like a next of kin to Trayee, more woody spiced chai tea and milk fragrance
My pick is Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee
    Thank you, and fingers crossed

  • Days are short, nights are long Winter is already here
Every time I’m thinking about independent business owners I remember the framed quote on the wall at the barbershop I was working as apprentice
“To be successful, you have to have your heart in your business, and your business in your heart” .
The 3 female owners , Neela Vermeire, Patricia de Nicolai and Ineke Rühland may very well have the same quote hanging somewhere in her office .
Trayee symbolizes the pristine quality of the ingredients, the uniqueness and opulent feel. Comforting spicy fragrance, with incense and jasmine , all dipped by Neela in golden amber.Bombay Bling i own.
INeKe Jaipur Chai very spicy tea fragrance, milky and cozy , and Cuir Cuba Intense a tobacco that resembles opening a cigar box form Patricia de Nicolai youth.
Trayee I’d love to win , If you happen to read the comments, please stay independent Neela.
    Thanks to all involved

I found it interesting that Steven picked up more of the green notes in Trayee, while Michelyn honed in on the spicy ambery aspects. I’d choose that one to find out what facets show on my skin. I’m in the U.S.

  • Neela Vermeire i believe is one of a kind person. LOVE Bombay Bling, and original Mohur, and now thanks to both of you I’m pumped for Trayee too. Smooth, balsamic fragrance with cardamom and incense , sounds fantastic. Every single aspect of the fragrance has its own place, nicely blended and adding to the whole picture .
The First Lady (Boss) of Niche Patricia de Nicolai created liquorice and tobacco, earthy and classy fragrance called Cuir Cuba Intense
Jaipur Chai is fresh ginger, tea, steamed milk and woods , cozy tea fragrance.
I believe Trayee would be a great fit for me.
    Thanks for the draw

  • Michelyn and Steven take on Winter Fragrances
☆ Patricia de Nicolai Cuir Cuba Intense , the First Lady of Niche is sweet and green at the same time tobacco with licorice
☆ Speaking about Trayee, i really wonder why Steven is not picking the sweetness, like me and Michelyn do. Not a gooey sweet gourmand of course, but I think it is a really milky fragrance, that smells really similar to Ras Malai , traditional Indian dessert. Lactonic without a doubt I believe , yet spicy and calming. As a long time Pastry Chef, I’m absolutely sure Neela Vermeire told Bertrand Duchaufour to create a fragrance that would smell like Ras Malai. From the original line of fragrances I love all , but mostly Bombay Bling, Mohur Extrait and Trayee. I agree with Michelyn, samples are a bit complicated to aquire
☆ Ineke Jaipur Chai is a comforting fresh ginger spicy tea for the freezing weather.
Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee I’d like to win the most
Appreciate the two reviews, and the giveaway campaign

  • There are two fragrances in your Best of Winter list I’m familiar with Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Cuir Cuba Intense and Trayee Neela Vermeire Créations.
Cuir Cuba Intense made by Patricia de Nicolai is not a simple fragrance , there’s tobacco, hay , lavender and cumin.
Trayee in my opinion is multifaceted resinous fragrance, with incense, ginger and unlike Michelyn and Steven cassis is also available in the composition. Personally I don’t smell green notes
Tea and fresh ginger, with rose wrapped in suede? Jaipur Chai sounds quite nice
    My choice is Trayee
    Exciting giveaway, USA

There are not one but two refined reviews reads here, one written and one YouTube video , there are stories , Indian and Cuban adventures and pleasures, Neela Vermeire, Patricia de Nicolai and Ineke Rühland ambitions and dreams turned into reality , and I’m loving it.
What i enjoyed overall is the two tones of “Best Winter Fragrances ” ,the half read , half video grabbed my attention right away.
Both Trayee and Jaipur Chai are unbelievable aromas similar to a medley of the best spice and chai bazaars and shops in India.
Patricia de Nicolai childhood story is dear to my heart because other than vintage watches and fragrances I also collect handcrafted leather cigar cases and wood humidors. I’ll sample Cuir Cuba Intense too
    Trayee please

    Thank you so much

  • Neela Vermeire Creations Mohur Extrait i adore , fantastic jammy rose, lactonic almonds and resins , with top quality sandalwood , a gem I wear on special occasions alone , Trayee I’ve never smelled. The creamy jasmine , together with the spicy ambery , and incensy base i find attractive.
Michelyn -> creamy jasmine, sweetness, golden amber
Steven in not picking all 3 , calling Trayee a green fragrance
Isn’t Evening Edged sweet enough to be called a gourmand, maybe not.. Jaipur Chai name speaks for itself
    Trayee please
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • Cuir Cuba Intense i believe is spicy green aromatic tobacco created by Patricia de Nicolai
I really like ambery and spicy fragrances with burning incense like Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee , ginger is a welcomed addition too.
Jaipur Chai is relaxing fragrance, gourmand for those who don’t look for juvenile gourmands.
Deeply contemplative and comforting description sealed it , Trayee would be my choice if I happen to be the winner.
    Much obliged

  • I’m so digging two way reviews on Cafleurebon , brilliant idea i believe. Two fragrance journalists are adding depth and if not different opinions, at least different nuances , the most intriguing part of Cafleurebon Best Winter Fragrances essay. The main differences on Redolessence side are the oud and green tones in Trayee , both are lacking in Michelyn Camen take on the two fragrances. On Michelyn side is the creamy jasmine, lacking in Steven’s take on the fragrance.
Licorice and tobacco sounds unique Cuir Cuba Intense is fragrance for grown ups
What a gem Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee is, unique and posh all together , with ginger and resins creating a sweet cloud
Ineke Jaipur Chai steamed milk and spicy tea is smooth
Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee intrigues me the most
Thanks for the 3 two way review , and the giveaway
