Phoenicia Perfumes Narcissus Greenlight Extrait (David Falsberg) 2024 + Rare Groove Giveaway

Phoenicia Perfumes Narcissus Greenlight Extrait

Narcissus Greenlight Extrait is a perfect moniker for this perfume as from the instant it leaves the sprayer there’s a stunning glowing green citrus and mossiness that feels like lights are shimmering with a green hazy glow. Luscious lemon feels creamy and tart with bergamot teasing out darker tones while sketching soft woods around you. Soft stems greens grow through cool dewy mossy hay like Jonquille; its more astringent green tones cleverly are picked up on by elemi and petitgrain, foreshadowing their emergence later in the dry down. Its soft focus honeyed floral haze though captures the bright tones of the citruses making them golden as more of its complex florals bloom into this seductively heady bouquet.

David has brilliantly enhanced the complex floral facets of the Jonquille/narcissus using bright and darker shades to make this floral feel like a lover embracing you wrapped in a fur and not much else with sandalwood and oud along with the mossiness of the narcissus itself giving a very seductive feel to how this perfume smells and wears. If Butch Fougere was a like David dropping a secret edit of a house track, he’s back at the decks again pulling out a rare disco groove, one that’s dripping in the slink and funk only Prince could dream of. Narcissus Greenlight Extrait’s opulent florals and purring animalics create a slinky sexiness that moves like a panther on the dance floor.

As the narcissus unfurls in Phoenicia Perfumes Narcissus Greenlight Extrait you get this fleshy thick and bitable tuberose, that’s also sleek and seductively smooth. It purrs with dirty whispers of champaca in a soft narcotic haze of orange blossom. A soft wink of blackcurrant fleshes out the florals as civet licks the petals into a velvety haze of pleasure. Narcissus Greenlight has a deliciously luxurious vintage feel of fur, yet those citruses still keep that green disco ball lights shining way into the dry down. More florals blossom around the stunning narcissus with jasmine sambac teasing with its darker leathery side as ylang ylang gives a subtle slinky feel. Civet leans florals this hard to describe grace, it fleshes them out and gives them this hypnotic purr of desire, that pinch of magic pulling things into focus while softening others so they melt into this luxurious sexy softness. You know that one carefree person on the dance floor, moving like no other, locked in and blissed out, that all eyes are drawn too.

You can smell the greenery from where all these stunning florals are blooming from, with that bitter petitgrain working as a clever foil against the bouquet of blossoms letting their sweeter side out. A soft smokiness enhances the green glow giving a hint of mystery as to what’s behind these seductive florals, even though it’s already teasing us with the smooth naked skin combination of sandalwood and tuberose. Narcissus Greenlight Extrait ‘s flirty side is gets demure as rose lends its elegance to the bouquet. That slight retreat of desire opens up with a window of voluptuousness with Jasmine getting darker, winking with indoles as Thai ouds stone fruity warmth adding to this round full feel. Soft salt musks give some of the darker tobacco like tones a moreish addictive feel with the jonquille feeling darker as ripe hay with oud gives deep woody waxy nutty aromas. The tuberose reveals its true nature, shedding its modesty and embracing the luxurious, smooth and lightly waxy essence of sandalwood, as the vibrant greens fade into a darker, more seductive realm. Phoenicia Perfumes Narcissus Greenlight Extrait is a heady mix of luxurious florals with a vintage charm letting narcissus’ complex beauty dance under a glittering green disco ball.

  • Slink and funk and flowers and green? LEAD ME TO THE DANCEFLOOR. Even if there dancefloor is as close as my own kitchen. I’m currently on a sandalwood kick and am relatively new to the oud party. (Happy to be there.) This sounds like a beautiful femme fatale drydown after a light, airy top note experience. My favorite disco track is, “I Love the Nightlife”. I would love to try this; thanks for the fun review and opportunity to win. I live in NY.

This fragrance is very mindful, very demure. Kidding. My favorite disco track is of course Last Dance by Donna Summer. Looking at the notes J described it perfectly as I could have imagined it, a mix between florals (and lots of green touches) and adding the animalics with the civet and ambergris. This won’t be for everyone as it’s a very complex fragrance with lots of different facets throughout its life so it’s best to sample it and going on that journey from beginning to end, strap in for a while rides I’m located in the USA

  • David Furman says:

This has a lot of sweet and funky elements going on. Bright green runs the opening and I picture it as bright and zingy. I love oud and it’s a winner and truly shines in the base. The sandalwood is probably done right and smooths out the over all composition. Would love to own this bad boy. From Jacksonville, NC.

  • Wow, this review just kept me saying wow, and wow, and woah… I think I would really enjoy this scent, especially since I’m a homebody and pj’s and reading in bed by 9p…all the notes sound scrumptious and lovely. I have been enjoying murder on the dance floor, Troye Sivan’s Got Me Started, but my fav is I Will Survive… thanks! I’m in the us

  • Oh my goodness I L O V E LOVE L O V E this perfume!!! It’s just sooo sexy gorgeous stunning intriguing beguiling mesmerizing! I Love his Deep Musk and Atmos Extrait too… come for the Ouds and stay for the musk, chypres and florals! Amazing perfumery. Well I want to win this as mine is getting scarily low but wow if I don’t someone is in for a stunner!
Thank you for the generous give away. I am in California.

  • Pt. 2 Oops! My favorite disco track is Chic by Le Freak!! And Bee Gees are a no go for me because they gave my nightmares as a kid after watching their movie on TV where they appeared to be ripping off the Beatles but in too tight jeans and hairy bare chests and his shrill Oooh Aaah Oooh scared me!! I never got over my Bee Gees phobia. Besides they aren’t disco.
I do have an amazing Bollywood soundtrack album that is all disco. That’s my favorite disco of all time… but for now, the classic Chic.

  • I love the way J describes the different facets of this scent as different lights and textures. Biteable, slinky, and a waxiness sound like such a tactile combination! Sounds almost transformative. I think for a disco song I would go with Chic by Le Freak!

  • Hez Binkowitz says:

David really worked his magic in this fragrance. It’s a masterpiece. You can see in the note breakdown the quality of materials used, but what a lot of people may not know is how selective David is when it comes to finding the best quality of his material. Meaning, he considers every aspect of the materials from the year they are produced, to the quality of the sources, to the ideal maturation to get the best results from them. It’s really incredible the amount of effort, knowledge and dedication he has to sourcing his materials.

J captured Narcissus Greenlight Extrait perfectly. I really enjoyed reading this.

Please exclude me from the giveaway as I am fortunate to have this fragrance already. I just wanted to share because I am a Phoenicia Perfumes mega fan. David is a good friend and mentor to me, but I was actually a huge fan of his before we ever met. His fragrances and experiences inspired me to want to be a perfumer, and his support and mentorship helped to make it happen.

Thank you J and Cafleurebon for sharing this beautiful article.

  • I have sampled some of David’s oud-centric perfumes in the past and really appreciate his attention to detail, highlighting the unique facets of each unique material. But I have yet to try any of his floral-focused perfumes and would love to be able to call Narcissus Greenlight Extrait the first! J’s review reads like disco poetry. I’d love to experience the luxuriousness of real narcissus on a dance floor of greens, oud, sandalwoods, and other animalics.

As for favorite disco track, it’s gotta be I Feel Love by Donna Summer. I can’t think of another song that STILL feels like it came from the future (even decades later)! Best wishes from NJ!

  • Never heard of Phoenicia Perfumes somehow. Nor have I tried a jonquil perfume. But I love white and yellow florals both pure and sweet and dark and animalic; seems like you get both here. My favorite disco song is “Got To Be Real,” a love song and a dance song but hauntingly uncertain. I’m in DC.

  • This sounds like the type of floral I might really enjoy. “A soft smokiness” jumped out at me, as that’s a quality I tend to look for in most any scent family. I’m an orange blossom fan and appreciate when they just ride that line between yummy and well, a little dirty. My favorite disco track is “Miss You” by the Rolling Stones (if that counts…I consider it one). USA

  • Well I am definitely intrigues as to how the grenade plays against the animalistic. I am sure the is depth and complexity there. What draws me most is the narcissus. Would love to sample this. I live in the US and my fav disco song is Funkytown.

  • Wow let’s break it down on the dance floor. Sounds like it smells fantastic can’t wait to try it!

  • Wow! This truly sounds like a unique fragrance. I’m most familiar with the narcissus note in Chloe Narcisse and Guerlain Vol de Nuit, but it sounds like David treats it quite differently here. The sharp green citrus and moss is refreshing counterpoint to the luxurious florals and civet. The woody, musky base seems to ground and soften the composition. J’s review is so descriptive and effusive, I really want to try this! Favorite disco track is Sylvester’s You Make Me Feel Might Real. MD, USA

  • J’s review of Narcissus Greenlight Extrait beautifully captures the fragrance’s journey from its radiant green opening to its deeply seductive base, showcasing the complex layers of citrus, florals, and soft woods. The detailed descriptions of the narcissus, smoky notes, and touches of oud and sandalwood create such vivid imagery, almost transporting me into this lush, intoxicating scene. I’m especially intrigued by the way he describes its vintage charm mixed with a modern, green disco vibe, making it a fragrance I’d love to experience firsthand.

  • What an evocative and sexy review! I love all the sensorial references (lick, bite!) – this fragrance sounds like an erotic dream come true. The disco connection seems perfect with all this talk of sweet/naughty – disco has always struck me as sensual which makes sense considering its origins in the free love era. Beautiful review.
My favorite disco track would have to be “Hot Stuff” by Donna Summer!
    I live in the U.S.

  • David Falsberg has truly captured a mesmerizing blend with Narcissus Greenlight Extrait. For me, The evolution from the vibrant green glow of citrus and moss to the intoxicatingly rich narcissus and tuberose notes is incredible. The interplay between bright citruses and darker, seductive animalics creates a unique, almost hypnotic experience I haven’t seen anywhere. I love how it evokes a vintage allure while remaining fresh and opulent. The soft smokiness adds mystery, and that final embrace of sandalwood and oud feels like a lavish touch that lingers beautifully. An absolute masterpiece that’s both sultry and elegant under the green disco lights! Looking forward to the chance to experience this stunning creation firsthand—fingers crossed for the giveaway! NY, USA.

  • Oh wow, I haven’t heard of this brand before, so I’ll definitely have to look into them. Narcissus Greenlight Extrait sounds like a wonderfully decadent dance of sultry florals. I really like the idea of the green hues as a veil over all the floral components. The inclusion of an indolic jasmine and jonquille has certainly piqued my interest as they are two of my personal favorite florals. They’re just so dang addictive! My favorite disco track is He’s the Greatest Dancer by Sister Sledge. Nile Rogers absolutely killed that groove. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • Fun review! I haven’t tried one of David’s perfumes yet, but he seems to do remarkable things with natural materials, with Narcissus Greenlight wrapping its florals in a green haze, “slink and funk”. The combination of vintage furr-like textures and citrus-spiked green tones is particularly intriguing. This sounds like a must-try for anyone that enjoys indolic florals. I’d love to try it.

I’m in the USA. My favorite disco track is Glass Candy’s “Digital Versicolor”.

  • FragranceIsMe says:

J, your article has my head spinning like a disco ball. The journey that this Phoenicia creation offers seems well worth the trip back to lit up dance floors, white suits with black shirts, and sweaty bodies dancing the night away. From the citruses, to the florals, to woody, warm, seductive drydown, I am so excited to get my nose on this fragrance. My favorite disco song for the moment is “Everyone’s A Winner” by Hot Chocolate 🙂

  • Narcissus… love the blooms but the scent of the fresh flower is distinctive and strong to say the least! However the concept as executed by David sounds so intriguing! Funk! Animalics!

I live in the USA. Thanks for the giveaway. My favorite disco track is I’m Every Woman!
