Commodity Fragrances Juice Expressive (Nathalie Benareau) 2024) + Redefining Juicy Giveaway

Commodity Juice Expressive

Commodity Fragrances Juice Expressive by Olya Bar.

I really wanted to redefine what a juicy scent is. Juice Expressive centers on succulent, vibrant fruits, but the ingredients I paired them with make this scent unique. Bulgarian Rose and fresh Cyclamen add bloom and breath rather than classic floral facets. Amberwood brings modernity and depth, elevating the idea of juice as we know it. Juice Expressive is an explosive, colorful, unconventional twist on the juicy, fruity fragrance profile.”—Nathalie Benareau of Symrise.

Commodity’s latest release, three years in the making, is a mouthwatering cocktail that arrived just in time for the summer season. Originally founded in 2013, the brand underwent a complete makeover and was reborn under the creative direction of Vicken Arslanian, founder of Europerfumes and owner of Twisted Lily, who relaunched the Commodity brand to new heights as DTC and then in Sephora stores across the US and the world. With engaging ad campaigns and a strong community behind the brand, anticipation for the new fragrance built up fast. After a series of tantalizing teasers, the long-awaited fragrance, Juice, was finally launched.

The brand was brilliantly rebuilt around the innovative concept of Scent Space. This unique idea allows consumers to control their scent’s projection and the space it occupies. Each Commodity fragrance is available in three different Scent Space classifications: Personal, Expressive, and Bold. Each classification is accentuated with different notes to achieve the desired effect, keeping the core DNA but altering the fragrance just enough to give each space its unique facet. The Expressive collection strikes a perfect balance of longevity and projection, making a statement without overpowering any space—noticeable by you and those around you.

You might wonder why it took three years to release a new fragrance. Initially, the team aimed to create a “non-floral floral,” but none of the perfumer submissions quite hit the mark. The search continued until they received a submission from perfumer Nathalie Benareau. Her creation, which was fruit-forward yet had a floral backbone, finally felt right. Commodity Juice was born—a tart and delicious  fragrance cocktail bursting with vibrancy and optimism from the first spritz, or rather, sip, as it feels.

Commodity Juice opens with ripe strawberries and sweet raspberry pulp, creating a delicious prelude to Bulgarian rose. The tangy rhubarb adds a slightly green note, while cyclamen provides depth and a touch of acidic piquancy. I’m quite addicted to the fizzy, effervescent effect, which makes this scent feel like a refreshing summer mocktail that you would serve in a sugar-rimmed glass with a splash of sparkling water, some delicious raspberry pulp, and a slice of bright red strawberry for garnish. Its structure shifts between fruity and floral throughout. The dry down reveals a soft, long-lasting trail of skin-like amberwood, that is modern, airy, and warm.

With numerous launches every year from prestige, niche, and indie fragrance houses, only some truly stand out. Commodity Juice Expressive hits every mark, making it the perfect celebration of summer’s bounty; it feels playful and grown-up, modern yet timeless, and, like all good things in life, was well worth the wait.

Notes: Raspberry, Strawberry, Bulgarian Rose, Cyclamen, Rhubarb, Amberwood.

I’ve been so looking forward to this release, but have yet to purchase. Its not that I don’t want to, I just have had other priorities. This reviewer does a fantastic job explaining Commodity’s brand and scent spaces, it is an inviting joy to explore. I can’t wait to get my hands on Juice! I live in Oregon.

Commodity is a house I’m aware of, I see their fragrances everywhere but not sure I haven’t dug deeper into them. I was aware of the 3 different versions and I love that concept as you don’t always want to wear the most powerful fragrance you have. I wasn’t aware that Juice took this long to make but based on the article, it was worth the wait and everyone seems to be happy with the final result. Having a fruity fragrance that’s not overly fruity but has some nuances and floral backdrops is unique indeed. We’re so used to Erba Pura and its million clones, this is a welcoming release in the community. I’ll be sure to try it the next chance I get, not just juice but Milk and the other releases from the house. Cheers from the USA.

I have been wanting to try Juice! I like how it’s described as a mild tail with strawberry, raspberry and sparkling water. The rose adds a nice balance to the fruit. My favorite Commodity scent is Milk which is amazing in winter. Juice seems like a perfect summer scent. Great addition to the Commodity line!

  • I’m not normally a fruit person, but the combination described here with the florals and other notes sound like it’s a wonderful summer scent even for the likes of me! I like Commodity Rain a lot, but I think my favorite so far is Wool.

  • If there was ever a marketing campaign that truly made me salivate, it was the social media campaign for Commodity Juice. It’s clean yet tantalizing imagery made my mouth water. Olya’s review has now increased my thirst for it exponentially. I’m a huge fan of raspberry and rose so I’m happy to see them at play, but I’m most excited over the addition of strawberry into the mix. Though there are certainly scents out there that use strawberry, it’s not all that common and I imagine it would increase the juiciness of the fragrance by quite a bit. Everything about this one sounds great – the fizzy effervescence, the bitter tones used to balance the fruity sweetness, and the back-and-forth tango of fruits and florals. Juice looks like it could be the next big hit for the brand and I would be most honored to give it a shot. My favorite from the house is Gin, followed closely by Moss and Gold. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • Ooh I love the idea of a strawberry rhubarb freshie with cyclamen (a favorite flower) and the classic Bulgarian rose giving some nuance. I suppose you’d need a bit of amber or you’d simply pop fizz away! lol sounds yummy! I am in US and grateful for the chance to win.

I love Commodity’s concept of Scent Space in their fragrances. I have their complete discovery set, and it has been so fun exploring their nuances. My favorite is Commodity Gold Expressive. I am excited to see Juice added to their line, and their personal twist on a fruity floral sounds deliciously fun. I am in the USA.

  • kellyatwood says:

Ooooh I’ve been wanting to try this one and my local Sephora doesn’t have it to sniff! I love a rhubarb note sooo much, but honestly, I’m most excited to try layering this with Milk, which is by far my favorite from the Commodity lineup.

  • My favorite Commodity fragrance, which is the one I own is Vetiver. There are a few more I want but have yet to purchase. I love mocktail type fragrances for the summer months and this sounds perfect. Can’t wait to add more Commodity fragrances to my wardrobe.

  • AromaDulce73 says:

This sounds like a summer hit. I don’t have any strawberry forward fragrances in my collection. I am a fan of fruity fragrances so I would to try this one out especially for the summer time.

I haven’t really tried any other Commodity fragrance. If I win it would be my 1st real experience with this house.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

I have had my eye on this one because I’ve been really craving juicy, fruity scents. I love the addition of rhubarb here as it’s one of my favorite notes in warm weather. This sounds like it was so appropriately named too. I also love the idea of scent space and think it’s such a clever idea! Thanks for the draw, from the US.

  • jlsteckley says:

I really liked reading about the commodity brand and their vision for this fragrance before its release. A really interesting read. As for my favorite, I really like Moss- if I had to pick one. But really the entire Moss line and Milk line really resonate with me.

  • Commodity Gold is one of my most complemented fragrances. Commodity Juice Expressive sounds like a fun summer scent to wear. The sweet berries are ably supported by the tangy green rhubarb and soft amber wood. MD, USA

  • David Furman says:

Commodity juice, that’s one unique name. To go along with that a special concoction of sweet berries and a gourmand that takes a break from the usual coffee and vannillic notes. I imagine this being somewhat linear but a photorealistic treat the entire journey. Don’t think it would be a challenging wear and I think it’s quite youthful and a pick me up compared to it’s industry counter parts. From Jacksonville, NC.

  • Thank you for this wonderful giveaway opportunity! Olya’s review of Commodity Juice Expressive is truly captivating. The idea of redefining a juicy scent with an unconventional twist using vibrant fruits, Bulgarian rose, and fresh cyclamen sounds incredibly intriguing. I love how this fragrance balances fruitiness with floral and modern notes, creating a refreshing and effervescent summer scent. The innovative Scent Space concept is fascinating, allowing customization of the fragrance’s projection. While I haven’t tried a Commodity fragrance yet, this review has certainly sparked my interest. I’m based in Nashville, TN, USA, and would be thrilled to win this beautiful perfume!

  • Shelley87 says:

This seems like the perfect fruity floral summer scent. I love that Commodity produces three different types of the same scent: bold, expressive, and personal. I know Commodity hasn’t released any new scents in three years. I am excited to try this one.

  • I love all kinds of berries in fragrances, this is right up my alley. Love to try this. From PA,USA

  • I find commodity to be an interesting concept house, the idea of all of these ways of expressing scents is truly unique. In maryland.

  • Anne Marjorie René says:

Olya sold me at the refreshing summer mocktail . I’ve never had a commodity fragrance before but I’d love to try this one

  • What sparks my interest about Olya’s review were its scent note which are strawberries, raspeberry pulp and Bulgarian rose. A fruity mix with a hint of floral. And also the way their fragrances were classified. Great approach for a perfume of this brand. It’s my first time hearing this brand, but i would love to try it if im given a chance to win. Im from California USA

  • Michelly03 says:

Love Commodity Gold. I enjoy fragrances from all genres (understatement) but lean to more of the amber , synthetic molecules, and fruity ones. The sandalwood gives a cozy serene sense of well being that just makes me feel …aaaahhhh. I’m excited to try Juice- it sounds like the addictive mouthwatering fruity experience I keep looking for in a perfume.

  • I’ve been so excited about this launch! I’ve been waiting for them to create a fruity composition. I really love all Commodity scents but they definitely needed something more playful. This is the most creative quote – “I’m quite addicted to the fizzy, effervescent effect, which makes this scent feel like a refreshing summer mocktail that you would serve in a sugar-rimmed glass with a splash of sparkling water, some delicious raspberry pulp, and a slice of bright red strawberry for garnish.”!! Who wouldn’t want a summer scent that invokes this?!!

My favorite Commodity scent is Book Expressive.

    I live in the US.

  • WillRhodes says:

Juice is one of Commodity’s best releases (next to Nectar, in my opinion) and the expressive version is my favorite from the three as I get the juiciest raspberry and strawberry. It’s mouthwatering and delicious and I would wear this all year. I really do love the unique approach of this line offering scent spaces as many love a fragrance profile but often desire different levels of how concentrated and deep/light the notes are. Really genius!

  • I love the perfumer’s description of Bulgarian rose and fresh Cyclamen adding “bloom and breath” to a fruity “non-floral floral”. Paired with an “Expressive” or “Bold” class, Juice sounds like a fun summer wear, effervescent tartness highlighting the berries while making it easier to wear in high heat.

    I’m in the USA.

  • I love the description of the notes and the explanation of how the fragrance is fruit forward with a floral backbone. The mouthwatering description of the fragrance and the fizzy effervescent effect that makes the fragrance smell like a summer mocktail. Love scents that make me feel and smell like I am on vacay. Also Olya description of the scent as playful but grown-up and modern yet timel, that is the kind of fruity floral that I love! I am from the USA

  • FragranceIsMe says:

Every once in a while, there is a fragrance that comes along and just makes me salivate. This is one of those fragrances. “Juice” has me all “JUICED UP” with it’s wonderful notes. Looking forward to experiencing all this latest creation from Commodity has to offer. 🙂

  • roxhas1cat says:

Fruits and roses sound like a great combination, especially the raspberry. I did not know that this line came in various strengths. Happy to see Olya says this hits all the marks. I’d love to win. this. Thanks to Europerfumes for this kind offering. U/SA.

  • I have been watching this fragrance since it was announced and I have been excited. Commodity’s relaunch has to go down in the history books. I love how they offer the different variations on the scent with tweaks on the notes for each version. This scent I just know is perfect for the summer with ripe strawberry and sweet raspberry that Olya mentions. Now this rose mixed with it is just what it needs and I want to experience it. Olya also mentions how it transitions from fruity and floral as the dry down happens and that’s something I know would be perfect on a good summer night out.

    I live in Dallas, Tx.

My favorite Commodity Fragrance is Milk

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

I have heard so much about this fragrance and would love to win a bottle of this one. I’m not picky so anyone would work for me. I just want to try the JUICE.

  • wallygator88 says:

    Thanks for the review Olya.

Super interesting set of notes. I love the idea of a non floral “floral” that is juicy. In particular the use of rhubarb and cyclamen to create that acidic, fruity mid and backbone to complement the rose and the fruit makes this fragrance very appealing.

My favourite Commodity fragrance is Orris.

    Cheers from WI, USA
