Best Bertrand Duchaufour fragrances

What an impossible task! Recommending only three Bertrand Duchaufour fragrances? Before we get to Steven’s video, I will share excerpts from my interviews, as well as more about his career.

Bertrand Duchaufour Traversee du Bosophere

A postcard to Michelyn that says “With all my best and to the next time we meet in New York. Big Kiss, Bertrand”

Bertrand Duchaufour who grew up in Nancy, France, is one of the most prolific and talented perfumers of the last 20 years. He is best known for L’Artisan Parfumeur, Penhaligon’s, as well as for his work for Eau d’Italie, Neela Vermeire Creations, Comme des Garcons, Amouage, The Different Company, Aedes de Venustas, Naomi Goodsir, MDCI and too many more to name. I met Bertrand Duchaufour four times. The first in 2008 at Henri Bendel’s (since closed) for the launch of Fleur de Liane, just after he joined L’Artisan Parfumeur as “perfumer in residence.” The second was two years later, also at Henri Bendel’s for Traversee du Bosophere. I wrote in my interview, “The first thing you notice about this man, unarguably one of the world’s greatest contemporary perfumers, is his composure, his unpretentious manner and individualism no matter his surroundings. Throughout the interview you will see a recurring theme of his perfumery as his challenge and the exploration of duality in order to amplify a concept or an accord. I have called Bertrand the ‘Rockstar’ of Perfumery on several occasions; I amend that statement… he is the fragrance world’s most intrepid explorer, always his own man, requiring no entourage, flattery or handlers as he pushes the boundaries of 21st century perfumery.

In 2010, he composed Sartorial, which is my favorite Penhaligon’s. It’s difficult to choose a favorite among Bertrand Duchaufour Fragrances. In our series Modern Masterpieces we chose L’Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu  from 2004 where he worked with former Creative Director Nick Steward now of Gallivant)  to compose a perfume inspired by the intense scents of West Africa and was added in 2019 to the revised Michael Edwards Perfume Legends II: French Feminine Fragrances. 2011’s Trayee for Neela Vermeire Creations was also included as a CaFleureBon Modern Masterpiece.

The next  two times I met Bertrand Duchaufour it was Esxence 2015 for the launch of I Miss Violet from the Different Company and later in 2016 also at Esxence for Project Renegades, along with Mark Buxton and Geza Schoen and  I believe it was the first under his own signature.

I once asked M. Duchaufour what makes a great perfume…his answer, “I am sure of one thing; time is the best judge of a fragrance”.Michelyn Camen, Editor-in -Chief

Three Bertrand Duchaufour Fragrances (chosen by Steven)

Amouage Jubilation XXV for Men:  On its 25th anniversary in 2007, Amouage launched two celebratory eau de parfums created by Bertrand Duchaufour. Jubilation 25 for Women and  Jubilation XXV  for Men. Frankincense weaves throughout and orange and a trio of spices including coriander, cinnamon and clove finish the opening stages of Jubilation XXV. Rose and sweet guaiac wood are precisely balanced so that each enhances the trail of incense. A resinous amber at the base is joined myrrh, opoponax, real ambergris, and musk which take Jubilation XXV into its deep rich dry down. –Michelyn

Incense Avignon by Comme Des Garcons is one of the finest ecclesiastical expressions of the note of incense. This frankincense-based perfume is grounding and meditative. It wafts generously off the skin, and it is sure to induce a calming and pensive state of mind. This fragrance is meant to evoke the feeling of being in a Roman Catholic church, and perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour for has recreated the experience with absolute perfection. –Steven

Ambrosia Imperiale by Navitus Parfums is truly unique and beguiling combining a ripe banana note with spicy rum and whipped cream. Vanilla in the base is delicious and smooth while the gourmand texture overtakes our senses in the most positive way. (it was one of Steven’s top ten of 2023)-Steven

I love that as an artist of perfumery, he is so passionate about his craft and really commits to thinking outside the box, resulting in an immersive journey, not simply a fragrance.

I have been CRAVING Ambrosia Imperial so much. If it is my lucky day and I am the winner, this would be my #1 choice.

  • LATONYA GIPSON-BOWMAN says:

Bertrand Duchaufour, his fragrances are simply beautiful. Watching the video Steven did Talking about jubilation 25 I actually made my ex-husband purchased this fragrance it’s that good.
In the article Michelin mentioned that Bertrand Duchaufour, was the Rock star of perfumery and I can see that.
I also love his quote that time is the best judge of a fragrance.
I would absolutely love to add another one of his fragrances to my collection.
    Thank you for the opportunity.

I love the way Michelyn describes the church like qualities to avignon. I love that perfume. Steven is always great about describing perfumes top to bottom. I loved his review of jubilation xxv. I’d love to win and live in Indiana.

  • Ramses Perez says:

I do agree with time being the best attribute a perfumer and someone who appreciates perfumes can have. Many times I have tried a fragrance and at first I didn’t like it, it then grew up on me later and I appreciated it much more. I own Amouage 25 and yes, it’s a masterpiece. It’s one of my favorite fragrances and I wear it all the time. I was influenced by Steven to get it and not regret it (a blind buy). I don’t own any fragrances with a banana note so I’m dying to try Ambrosia Imperiale and hopefully win it. What I learned truly it’s how many fragrances Bertrand has created, I had no idea he did Sartorial for Penhaligon’s. Cheers from NJ.

  • Jubilation 25 woman is a masterpiece and so opulent! I own many Duchafour creations and would love to add this to my collection if I win!

  • My wife loves Ambrosia Imperial and I love Jubilation 25, needless to say we are huge fans. We’ve only sampled the two but we will add them to our collection one day.

  • I absolutely adore Mr. Duchaufour’s comment about time being the best judge of a fragrance! It is so true. He is a true master of this craft and has created so many wonderful and iconic scents. I love CDG Avignon and certainly agree with Michelyn’s comments on it’s churchy vibes. It’s such a stunning frankincense – pure, relaxing, and with that somber yet interestingly cooling feel. Great Stuff. I had not heard Steven’s talk about it before so I was happy to hear his take. I have not tried either of the other two scents, though Jubilation XXV has been on my “must try” list for ages. I haven’t forgotten about it…my list is just so dang big. lol. Ambrosia Imperiale sounds very interesting too. Banana is a note that we don’t get to experience all that often, but I imagine the pairing with the rum is quite nice. I’m thrilled to see Michelyn say that it’s truly unique, as we all know how exciting it can be to discover a scent that really stands out and evokes something new. Steven then said it’s a beast of a fragrance as well, and I’m known for liking my powerhouse fragrances. Best of luck to all. I live in NC, USA.

  • When Steven mentioned banana note in the fragrance… I had to get into the giveaway. I LOVE that note, yet it is rarely used. The more banana the better! I can only imagine how nice and tropical this must smell. And the whipped cream. Oh my! Banana split floats dancing in my mind!

  • Kelly Atwood says:

I loved reading about Bertrand and his creative approach. I adore SO many of his fragrances but have yet to smell Ambrosia Imperiale!

  • sofiascents says:

I heard many times about Bertrand Duchaufour, but never got a whiff of his creations. Lately, Ambrosia Imperiale has piqued my interest – sounds like my kind of scent! Excited to explore the world of Duchaufour’s fragrances.
    @sofia_fuschia

  • I enjoyed reading about the four times you met M. Duchaufour throughout the years. I miss Henri Bendel’s!
Like Steven, I also love the frankincense in Avignon. And I love Jubilation XXV. It’s almost impossible to name my favorite Duchaufour fragrances because there are so many of them. Adding to the ones above, I would name Copal Azur, Mohur, Trayee, and Amaranthine. I’m sure there are others. I would love to try (or win) Ambrosia Imperiale. I’m in the US.

  • I really liked when Duchaufour said “I am sure of one thing; time is the best judge of a fragrance”. I anlways enjoy watching Steven’s reviews for he is very thorough, informative and educational.

Steven makes me crave for Ambrosia Imperiale. I have never smelled the note of banana in a perfume but he caught my attention when he said banana and rum. Yum! I have couple of Navitus perfumes and all of them makes my mouth water. I would love the opportunity to try Ambrosia Imperiale!

I love this quote by DuchaufourI when asked what makes a great perfume: “I am sure of one thing; time is the best judge of a fragrance”. I believe this to be so true in my experience.

Love Stevens description of Ambrosia Imperial, banana dipped in rum, wow, sounds amazing!

Jubilation XXV sounds interesting with that frankincense note which looks like it would be right up my alley.

Another frankincense fragrance is Incense Avignon. I went to catholic school as a kid and vividly remember that incense smell from church. This would be an interesting one to get my nose on.

I liked the post on instagram.

  • Oh my goodness so many favorites!! Oud for love, Oud Shamash from the Different co, Bombay Bling and Ashoka for Neela Vermiere, Kyoto from Comme de Garçons, Copal Azure for Aedes des Venustas and Aedes des Venustas for L’Artisan lol and I could keep going easily! And this one from Navitas must be amazing – I am a bit burnt out on gourmands but I know Bertrand will not be cloying and foolish but will deliver intrigue and art. Cannot wait to try it!
I’ve liked ÇaFleureBon for a long time on IG. Name is simone.samba there
    thank you from California

  • I think L’Artisan Parfumeur Al Oudh is a creative masterpiece. He has created so many more I’d love to try and probably own. New Jersey, USA

  • thee_boy_wonder says:

The fragrance that AI the great worked on sounds so interesting! Jubilation for the win tho!!! Steve thanks for highlighting the deets, I didn’t know that he was the nose behind some of my favorite scents!

  • Aeternitatis says:

Bertrand Duchaufour has some iconic fragrances in history, my favorite ones are Avignon and Timbutko (5 stars from Luca Turing). One thing specific about him is that he used too many ingredients in his perfumes. In one interview he said that the perfume is like a canvas, and you add things until you reach the final result. I see that in Ambrosia Imperiale, he used a very rare banana note. He used banana note in Aurore-Nomade by different company, which is one of my favorites. Very curious to try this one.

  • Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Bertrand Duchaufour, Michelyn. I love that he possesses such humility with his craft, all too much I find Perfumers having a sense of arrogance, and I believe his true focus being on his passion and not requiring much to do so but his love for his creations. I believe that translates into his amazing body of work.
Steven, those three selections are wonderful and with this draw Ambrosia Imperiale excites me the most. You have such great taste and hearing you speak so highly of this one makes me crave it. I am loving any essence of banana in fragrance as of late as well.

  • I did not realize Mr. Duchaufour was instrumental in creating fragrances for so many perfume houses! L’Artisan is one of my favorites.
The description of Ambrosia Imperiale by Navitus Parfums sounds so incredible. I would definitely choose this one if I am selected as a winner.
I live in the USA – Pennsylvania.

  • Margaret Tolliver says:

I only Ambrosia Imperiale but wow! I can’t get enough of this! It’s amazing the thought process is so complex, interesting that history itself is a component in developing fragrances.

  • What a task, to recommend only 3 fragrances by Bertrand Duchaufour!!! His career is remarkable , cooking so many successful, beautiful and popular fragrances , from Jubilation XXV from Amouage to Timbuktu , Noir Exquis from L’Artisan Parfumeur , Trayee from Neela Vermeire all i see are Michelyn favorites. Indeed he’s a rockstar , and I love the answer he gave Michelyn about what makes a great perfume , time is the best judge of everything, from culinary to fragrances.
☆ Amouage Jubilation XXV is just great. Smells a bit like a mix between BlackBerry crumble traybake and BlackBerry Swirl Muffins with honey butter both with cinnamon. Can’t help it- Pastry Chef in me goes forward ‍each and every time. My favorite Amouage. I don’t smell rose in Jubilation XXV, but Michelyn do.
☆ Incense Avignon from Comme Des Garcons is one of the most famous incense fragrances, dry and evocative.
    ☆ Navitus Parfums Ambrosia Imperiale
It sounds delicious fruity amber with banana soaked in rum ,caramel and whipped cream.. beautiful.
My favorite Bertrand Duchaufour fragrance? It has to be one of:
    ☆ Jubilation XXV from Amouage
☆ Trayee from Neela Vermeire Creations
☆ Baklava Royale from Navitus Parfums
Being a Pastry Chef I’d absolutely love to win Ambrosia Imperiale , a dream for gourmand lover like me
Appreciate Michelyn introduction and sharing her Bertrand Duchaufour memories, the mini reviews, and the giveaway campaign

  • Ooooh, Bertrand Duchaufour is everything! A true legend in perfumery. To experience a BD banana rum is heaven adjacent. Steven paints a delicious picture of Ambrosia Imperiale, along with the other two featured perfumes. I live in NY.

  • neal_buatti says:

The totality of a perfumer’s work can come down to one fragrance. Bertrand Duchaufour will always be remembered for his work on Jubilation 25. A masterpiece.

I have liked and followed the IG page.
I live in the US in the state of PA

  • If I have to summarize the amount of pleasing to the eyes and mind Bertrand Duchaufour flashbacks by Michelyn and Steven , I’ll start with what Michelyn said about how impactful he has been for the whole industry . His work with different brands during the years made him a legend, explorer pushing the boundaries of 21st century with so many fantastic creations, and many more to come.
I have a feeling I’m one of the few fragrance enthusiasts who never smelled Jubilation XXV. Amouage fragrances are just different, in my opinion they often smell different on different people, Sunshine Man for example, no wonder Michelyn and Steven are not quite the same page about Jubilation XXV. Resins and spices with signature incense, i guess it’s time to sample Jubilation XXV and also Jubilation 40.
Incense Avignon I own , it’s not as scary as some believe, it’s a wearable incense for cold Winter and Fall days.
I’m on a diet right now, and the soaked in rum banana, vanilla cream and caramel puts Ambrosia Imperiale is in a drool worthy category. Maybe the long months of low carb diet amplifies the feeling , but I’m literally drooling at the moment .
Aubade (Lyrik) , The Embrace and Navus are the Navitus Parfums fragrances I own , winning Ambrosia Imperiale would be a dream come true
Thanks for the great read and video, and for the draw

  • I first became aware of Bertrand Duchaufour through his work with L’Artisan Parfumeurs. I’ve tried several of his L’AP creations including Traversee du Bosphore and Dzongkha. Truly the work of a master nose. I’ve not tried Navitus Ambrosia Imperiale but the gourmand banana, rum. vanilla and whipped cream blend sounds delicious. Good to know it was one of Steven’s top ten picks! I’m in the US.

  • olfactoryatlas says:

I have yet to try a single Navitus but I am very intrigued. I do want to try Amouage also.

  • hippononamus says:

Timbuktu was my gateway into niche fragrances. I’d gotten a sample from Aedes when I was first dipping my toes and it blew me away. I had to have a bottle and Bertrand quickly became one of my favorite noses, with Dzongkha and Kyoto. I appreciated Michelyn giving a bit of history on his career and introducing two I wasn’t familiar with. As Steven gives Jubilation XXV such high regard as his top fragrance and I’ve never tried it, that’d be my choice. I’m in the US and follow you on Instagram @ryanjonesphotos

  • I must agree that choosing 3 Bertrand fragrances is impossible. There were some in Michelyn’s list I didn’t realize were from the “Rockstar”. Love that picture, but how dare Geza squish that gorgeous hair. Love that Steven brought up that Avignon is rooted in the history of humanity. What a compliment, I love my bottle of Avignon. After his description I must get my nose on Jubilation 25. Not sure if it will be my taste, but his enthusiasm makes me at least want to test. My favorites from Bertrand are Chypre Palatin, Avignon, Mechand Loup, Eau d’italie and Or du Serail. I am still sad that I didn’t get Traversee du Bosphore so if you are reading this…….please release this again. I am a subscriber of Steve’s YouTube. I have heard such good things about Ambrosia Imperiale. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Regis Monkton says:

I appreciate Michelyn’s introduction: it’s a reminder to me that I should try to at least sample Bertrand Duchaufour’s fragrances he created for L’Artisan Parfumeur, Penhaligon’s, Eau d’Italie, Neela Vermeire Creations, Comme des Garcons, Amouage, The Different Company, Aedes de Venustas, Naomi Goodsir, and MDCI. I’d like to try Ambrosia Imperiale by Navitus Parfums. It sounds like a unique, interesting gourmand, one that I could like, and I hope to win a bottle of it. I liked the post for this on Instagram (my I.G. name is @regismonkton). I live in the U.S.A.

  • I appreciate Michelyn ‘s comment that this perfumer does not create to please the masses, but pushes the boundaries to explore new territory in this art form. That is something I respect and admire. And I think Steven’s review confirms that Mr. Duchaufour’s individualism and expertise have stood the test of time – which, in Mr. Duchaufour’s own words, is the true test of great perfume. Thank you for this generous draw. I live in NH, USA.

  • I enjoyed how Steven described Ambrosia Imperiale as having the banana note combined with rum. Such a scrumptious combination being a big fan of the gourmand genre. I was transported to a beautiful sunny day on a lush island sipping on a tropical drink. Comme Des Garcons known for creating very good incense based creations, Incense Avignon portraying being in a Roman Catholic church, utilizing frankincense with its lemony and piney facets sounds amazing. The significance of the XXV in Jubilation XXV for men to commemorate Amouage’s anniversary which I never knew about. Sartorial is one of my faves from Penhaligon’s and composed by Bertrand Duchaufour and interestingly one of Michelyn’s faves and that’s pretty cool in itself. Thank you for the opportunity. New York, USA. Followed on Instagram, Frankieg74.

  • Thank you Michelyn for the intro and Steven for the video reviews. Out of the 3 fragrances, I’ve only smelt Jubilation 25 which didn’t work for me as well as a couple of Bertrand Duchaufour’s other creations that I’ve worn (my favorite from him is MDCI Chypre Palatine followed by Mure Et Musc for L’Artisan Parfumeur), Thank you for the kind giveaway. I’m in TX USA

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the nice video Steven and writeup Michelyn.

Michelyn’s writeup highlighted a lot of the great scents that Bertrand has created. Sartorial is such an elegant barbershop fougere, Timbuktu and Trayee are legendary in their own right.

I’ve had a chance to smell Avignon and it is such a beautiful and peaceful scent.

I have not had a chance to smell Amouage Jubilation XXV, but it’s close to home for me.

Would love to win a bottle of Ambrosia!

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • Interesting survey of Duchaufour’s work. I’m not sure I’ve tried any of his perfumes, but I enjoyed clicking through into the interview and review of Timbuktu. And I love that quote Michelyn included at the end of her intro; time surely is the best judge, though not too long! Steven’s thoughts on Incense Avignon really jumped out for me. I love that ecclesiastical incense smell—it’s very nostalgic, with a unique complexity, like the lemon-pine smell of frankincense. I should seek out a sample.

I’m in the USA. I’m @mmerline on Instagram and like @cafleurebonofficial.

  • I had never pinpointed his style as highlighting dualiry, but it’s interesting to think of that when considering some of my favorites by him: Aedes de Venustus, Seville a L’aube, Avignon, Eau d’Italie..and I would LOVE to try Ambrosia Imperiale, and see what the hype is all about. Sounds delicious!

My favorite takeaway from this article is Bertrand’s quote on what makes a great perfume…his response: “I am sure of one thing; time is the best judge of a fragrance”.

  • Out of all Bertrand Duchaufour fragrances mentioned my Michelyn and Steven I own 5 , Penhaligon’s Sartorial, L’Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu, Amouage Jubilation XXV , Navitus Parfums Absolutio , and Neela Vermeire Creations Trayee .
Rockstar contemporary perfumer who proved himself during the years, there’s no type of fragrance he can’t make
Jubilation XXV is everything Michelyn and Steven said it is , and more. I can’t believe it’s 15-16 years old now . I like the smokiness, the patchouli, the oud, the honey sweetness, and everything else in its sophisticated character. Can’t say I can detect rose through .Usually I’m not into overhyped things in life , but everyone is now talking about the new Jubilation 40 on all platforms, Cafleurebon, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and so on .
I love incense fragrances when the note in blended with other notes , and not super forward, not sure how I feel about Comme Des Garcons Incense Avignon
Sensual, deep and rich cold weather fragrance done right ✅ , Navitus Parfums Ambrosia Imperiale sounds great. Coziness, positive emotions , romantic occasions all are part of the festive sensation coming from the boozy banana gourmand made by Bertrand Duchaufour
    Exciting giveaway, USA

I loved Michelyn’s passion and introduction to this perfumer. Steven is always so knowledgeable and passionate about perfumes. I’m in the US.

  • I happen to own a number of Bertrand Duchaufour fragrances, his compositions always seem to please me. Michelyn’s introduction had a quote from Bertrard which pointed at time being the best determination on the quality of a fragrance, I found that interesting.

Steven’s reviews were also very interesting. I particularly enjoyed how he described ambrosia imperial as a “banana soaked in rum”, it sounds delicious.

    I live in CT, US.

  • foreverscents says:

I like how Michelyn amended her appellation of Bertrand Duchaufour from “rock star” to “world’s most intrepid explorer.” Michelyn’s introduction also made me want to explore L’Artisan Parfumeur, a house that I haven’t really explored.
Steven’s reviews made me excited to try Ambrosia Imperiale and Jubilation XXV. I have tried Avignon and it is most definitely a masterpiece. I always enjoy Steven’s enthusiasm for perfumes he loves.
My favorite fragrance created by Bernard Duchaufour is Sartorial. I feel so put together when I wear it.
    I live in the USA.

  • I once asked M. Duchaufour what makes a great perfume…his answer, “I am sure of one thing; time is the best judge of a fragrance”. –Michelyn Camen, Editor-in -Chief

Great question, and excellently put answer ! In every industry ,fashion or perfumery there’s trends that come and go, and some that become classics. I’m digging Mark Buxton, Michelyn and Bertrand Duchaufour styling by the way.
Not sure if Trayee is my favorite Bertrand Duchaufour fragrance, but it’s my favorite by Neela Vermeire Creations, the sweet and spicy cloud is so comfortable. Timbuktu is also my favorite L’Artisan Parfumeur, I’m with Michelyn again.
Guaiac wood, frankincense and patchouli , and some honey , Jubilation XXV is upscale nighttime fragrance , with Middle Eastern flavor. The Jubilation 40 is a bit better, but not by a lot in my opinion.
Both Penhaligon’s Sartorial and Comme Des Garcons Incense Avignon i haven’t smelled in many years , and don’t remember well, mediatative fragrances i like.
What I like about Navitus Parfums Ambrosia Imperiale other than that it’s made by Bertrand Duchaufour, are the aged rum, caramel, spices and bananas. I also look not just for quality fragrances, but quality fragrances that do perform, and Navitus Parfums fragrances all deliver
Thank you Michelyn, Steven, Navitus Parfums

  • Lisa Collins says:

I like Bertrand Duchaufour’s Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo – Tuscan Cypress. I was impressed with just how prolific Duchaufour has been in his career according to Michelyn. Bananas? Really I loved the way Steven described the scent…This is Bananas!

  • Love the sounds of Ambrosia Imperial. Enjoy all the videos on your page! Keep making them!

  • Sherin Thomas says:

Jubilation 25 woman is a masterpiece and so opulent! I own many Duchafour creations and would love to add this to my collection if I win

  • Like Olya said in her best of 2023 fragrance industry is growing at the speed of light , and Bertrand Duchaufour is part of the ever growing process. I like the unpretentious manner and individualism, and exploration of duality Michelyn told us about , when she was describing his work.
Neela Vermeire Creations Mohur Extrait i adore , fantastic jammy rose, lactonic almonds and resins , with top quality sandalwood , a gem I wear on special occasions alone , Trayee I’ve never smelled.
Jubilation XXV is like Scheherazade story in a bottle , fruity , resinous and smoky .
Comme Des Garcons Incense Avignon is a cold and linear Incense fragrance
Banana soaked in rum, whipped cream and caramel…sold .I own Navus , XO Brandy, Absolutio , and Vivamor , and I’d absolutely love to win Navitus Parfums Ambrosia Imperiale
Neela Vermeire Creations Mohur Extrait is my favorite Bertrand Duchaufour fragrance
    Thank you for the opportunity

  • I enjoyed learning about Bertrand Duchaufour’s history of perfumery. “He is the fragrance world’s most intrepid explorer” is an apt description! Steven’s review of Ambrosia Imperial really does make it sound like the most unique, delicious gourmand. A rare note of banana, plus rum and whipped cream… and it has staying power! Very impressive. NY, USA. Liked on Insta: @candy_hxo

  • If i was in Michelyn and Steven shoes, and i had to pinpoint 3 Bertrand Duchaufour recommendations… I would’ve freaked out because of the next to impossible task. I own maybe 20 of his fragrances, and considering the fact how a lot of brands don’t like to announce the perfumers I’m sure I’ve smelled a lot more of his creations. It would be great if you review the one Hernando Courtright spoke so highly about Cafe Tabac by Aedes de Venustas.
In my opinion Bertrand Duchaufour is not just a contemporary perfumer, he composed vast variety of different stylistically fragrances, one of the greatest perfumers ever, top 5 if not top 3.
Unfortunately Timbuktu and Sartorial are not as good as before, especially Timbuktu.
Jubilation XXV is a timeless fragrance, I do own the vintage non magnetic cap , also Jubilation 40 opening to me is very different from its predecessor, to me it’s very herbal , medicinal and heavy on the bay leaf , to my nose there’s no rose in both. When it settles down the magic happens
Comme Des Garcons Incense Avignon is Incense lovers dream
Most bananas in perfumery are either super artificial, or too green, I wonder what kind of fragrance Bertrand Duchaufour composed, a stunner i believe . So bananas, rum, caramel? I’m all in for Navitus Parfums Ambrosia Imperiale
Two days in a row I’m wearing Bertrand Duchaufour gems , yesterday Trayee , and Or du Serail by Naomi Goodsir is what I’m wearing right now, both are of the best Bertrand Duchaufour fragrances
All profiles I already follow, @waltherp99bg
    Thanks a lot

  • I’m fortunate enough to have a bottle of Jubilation XXV, and while the notion of bananas certainly has me curious, I’m not sure it’s something I’d wear. That said Incense Avignon features frankincense which is a favorite note of mine, I feel certain this would be another of M. Duchaufour’s I’d enjoy. I was recently in Denmark and picked up a few bottles from his creations for Alûstre, and think that’s a remarkable series as well.

I loved learning about Michelyn’s introduction to Bertrand Duchaufour and Steven’s reviews of the three Bertrand Duchaufour Fragrances. Bertrand Duchaufour is a brilliant and talented perfumer with so many amazing creations. Jubilation XXV and Incense Avignon are a testament to how great he really is. I loved learning more about his past growing up and France and some of his earlier creations that got him established as a perfumer. I would love to try Navitus Parfums Ambrosia Imperiale which sounds like a gourmand lovers dream. My favorite perfume from Bertrand Duchaufour is Jubilation XXV. I like and follow @cafleurebonofficial My instaname is @michaelprincefragrances I am from the USA.
