Jovoy Paris and Musk will forever be linked to ÇaFleureBon. In 2021, Founder François Hénin and the team at Jovoy” and our editors and contributors curated The Make it Musk Box,14 musk fragrances- from soft and subtle to potent and animalic that highlight the many facets of musk. Sr. Editor Nicoleta Tomsa chose Jeroboam Flora, and said of perfumer Vanina Muracciole  “she is a virtuoso musk alchemist.”

 In Karl Topham’s Esxence 2023 report he noted one of the trends was the link “between outer space and olfactive exploration”. Karl wrote, “Jovoy Paris Musc Pallas is a study in magnifying the marriage of different musks, the combination of  bergamot, ambrette, iris, peach, sea spray, red and white musks, tonka and a unique twilight ingredient …” In Greek mythology, Pallas was most often described as a dear friend of the goddess Athena, a warrior and was the daughter of Triton and granddaughter of Poseidon…perhaps that’s why there is a sea spray note in Musc Pallas.-Michelyn Camen, Editor-in Chief

    From Steven`s YouTube review I liked that he showed how beautifully perfume is presented: the box, the bottle and the sprayer are so high quality. Most of all I like the combo of pear-like vanilla and clean musk. And it was curious to know that this type of iris used in the perfume is neither lipsticky nor starchy but clean and tranquil-like. This definitely sounds like my cup of tea. Knowing that this perfume is clean but not soapy makes me even more intrigued. Seems like a modern clean peachy vanilla musk which will be suitable for any gender. This is so good.

    I’m ashamed to admit it, but I haven’t tried any of the Jovoy Paris’ perfumes. So this would be nice to start with Musc Pallas!

    I found her introduction very intriguing and filled to the brim with interesting facts regarding this beautiful fragrance. For me Steven’s review was very professionally made and it was also really informative. I don’t really have a favorite from Javoy Paris because I hadn’t had an occasion to try something from this house but if I had to buy something from them maybe for like a present for someone I’d probably go with Musc Pallas.     I like Michelyn’s connection of the notes of the scent to the mythological allusions of its name — the sea spray note being associated with Pallas’ aquatic ancestors, and the invocation of outer space as well, the deep sea and outer space both being some of the deepest unknowns in human knowledge. As for Steven’s review, it was lovely as always; I’m glad he addressed the iris as I tend to dislike the more lipsticky end of the spectrum there, so I’m curious about how the iris in Musc Pallas behaves. Overall, this sounds like a really beautiful, serene, thoughtful scent! I don’t have a favorite yet but am looking to sample more Jovoy scents 🙂 I live in New York, in the US!

    The combination of all the musks certainly sounds very enticing to me. The sea salt note may throw me off for a loop but in combination with all the other notes, it adds to the exotic nature of the fragrance. I do like what Steven said that’s not gourmand, I already have enough of those. I’m a quiet, subtle person myself so I think I will like this one a lot. I also like that this one despite all the musks is not animalic, not one of my favorite type of fragrances. My favorite Jovoy fragrance is still Psychedelique. Cheers from NJ, USA.

    I have and love Fire at Will from this house. Steven’s review made me think that I must try this fragrance because I love vanilla and musk and I am just starting to get into peach and iris…especially the type of iris that Steven described.

    Michelyn says Pallas was the daughter of Triton and granddaughter of Poseidon, hence, a sea spray note in Musc Pallas. Steven says Musc Pallas has ambrette note that may sometimes like pear but this composition is not gourmand in a typical sense. He also mentions the inclusion of iris though not the starchy kind. I am in US. My favorite from Jovoy is Rouge Assassin.

    Michelyn has a beautiful way with words and descriptions of fragrances, always allowing you to look at a fragrance from a unique perspective. “The link between outer space and olfactive exploration” gives fragrance lovers hope for perfumers to push boundaries while still making the fragrance wearable and smell good. Steven mentioned this to be unique but also versatile, while being a summer scent. The notes sound excellent as well with iris being a favorite note.

    I only own one Jovoy so far and that’s Psychedelique.

    The sweet, cozy properties of Musc Pallas I find suitable for rainy days, or for the times I’d like to be alone on the porch drinking tea and reading a book.
    What I find appealing in Steven review , and Michelyn intro was the Greek mythology connection, the soft clean type of musc and the comforting feeling in Musc Pallas.
    Les Jeux sont Faits is not just best smelling Jovoy, but it also gets me nice amount of compliments too.

    I like the usage of different types of musks (red/white) and the supporting notes there to help round out the composition. A heavy musk scent with iris/ambrette could be spectacular. Jovoy Private Label is my favorite from the brand. US-CA here.

    Both Michelyn and Steven’s intro and review definitely did their job in making me want to try this fragrance! The imagery used makes it sound so alluring, the myth of Pallas, the constellation/outer space aspect, the sea spray homage. I’ve enjoyed trying musk perfumes of all kinds, but I can’t say I recall one with a sea spray note. I’m very intrigued! The praise heaped on Ms. Muracciole for her talents with musk confirmed my desire to seek this out. Steven’s presentation of packaging and mention/testing of the atomizer is always appreciated, as well as his dissection of the notes. I feel like musks can be a bit hard to describe aside from animalic ones, and his “clean” and “pear-like” aspect of ambrette descriptors help to form a scent-picture in my mind of the perfume. I was appreciative of him highlighting the fact that it’s not soapy in any way but “clean” and that it’s an important distinction; he is correct because they can be two completely different things even though they sound related (I’m ok with soapy in certain instances). I’m already a fan of a few Jovoy scents, particularly Private Label and Psychadelique. Thanks for the chance! I’m in the US.

    Thank you Michelyn for introducing me to this perfume – it would go under my radar for God knows how long if it wasn’t for this article and I believe that would be such a shame as I loooooove the notes!
    Thank you Steven for further introduction, I appreciate your impressions, especially the part where you describe it as smooth, silky, creamy, but not gourmand, unisex, clean iris, not lipsticky.
    Unfotunatell, I still don’t have a favorite Jovoy Paris perfume as I never tried any, so this would be a perfect place to start that voyage. 🙂

    Michelyn reminds us what Nicoleta Tomsa said about Vanina Muracciole being a virtuoso musk alchemist and I agree, an relating to the title of the post she is a Musk Godess (I love my Comtoir Musc Cristal) and in Pallas she magnifyies the marriage of different musks. Steven introduces us Musc Pallas as a soft, silky and velvety scent with a great balance with its ingredients, very subdued, melting them in an harmonious way. This is its triumph! No soapy, even with the Iris present! As Steven I have no favorite of Jovoy but I tried a beautiful gourmand citrus Cecile Zarokian one: Remember Me. I live in Spain, EU

    Jovoy Paris Musc Pallas is one I’m just certain I would love wearing. In Michelyn’s introduction I love hearing the reference to Greek mythology and why the possibility of the sea spray note was brought in this fragrance. I would love to get my nose on the combination of these different muscs, sounds simply divine.
    In Steven’s review I found it interesting how the opening was vanillic but not gourmand. The smooth and subtle sweetness in the opening sounds very appealing. I like how the Iris is not a lipstick version but more of a clean vibe.
    I do enjoy wearing fragrances that are not too intense for work, and this sounds like one that would work well in the office for me. Interesting how this fragrance isn’t animalic considering I find fragrances such as this usually to be so.
    Smooth, clean, and tranquil as Steven said, this really seems pleasant. I really like that it doesn’t have too strong of a projection but still captures longevity.

    My wife and I both enjoy musk based fragrances. Natural peach, vanilla, iris, and fresh opening are very alluring to each of us. We currently own a few Jovoy Paris creations. They are Psychedelique (one of our favorite patchouli creations…period), Remember Me, 21 Conduit St., and Private Label. All are of the highest quality and lovingly unique. Musc Pallas would be eagerly and warmly welcomed into our collection.

    I loved Michelyn’s introduction providing context about the house of Jovoy and Musk, about Vanina Muracciole and the link to Pallas, Athena and the god of sea.
    Steven is as always extremely helpful by breaking out the perfume in different notes and explaining its evolution: he made Musk Pallas sound extremely alluring, having soft notes like vanilla and iris, but not becoming gourmand, and also having the marine note which in my opinion is a very unique addition to a musky/floral perfume.

    Can’t say I know much of ancient Greece, but if you’re a fragrance enthusiast you know Jovoy.

    I am a hugae fan of Jovoy Paris, being Incident Diplomatique my favorite one yet. I think that Musc Pallas is surely a great fragrance. I love that it has subtle sweetness and the musk and the iris. I also found very interesting is that this is a very quiet fragrance and not a loud perfume. I would love to try it.

    A skillfully executed marriage of fine musks can only be a good thing, and if Vanina Muracciole is at the perfume organ, it can only be magnificent. Thank you Michelyn for putting the new musk fragrance in context – the connection between CaFleureBon and Jovoy Paris is truly special. I like the way Steven presents Musc Pallas as fluffy, silky and powdery – that’s how I imagined it from the very first moment. That is my favorite kind of musk! I also appreciate that Steven emphasizes it is not too much in your face, it is subtle and refined, and gives off a tranquil vibe. One more great thing I learned from Steven is that the longevity here is really good despite the rather delicate sillage. I love that Musc Pallas is a versatile fragrance, for any gender, age or occasion. I would be delighted to envelop myself in this fluffy and powdery loveliness.     I used to wear Body Shop White Musk back in the day and I still enjoy a well crafted musk fragrance. Jovoy Paris Musc Pallas sounds like the ultimate musk perfume and Vanina Murricole seems like the person to compose it. The twilight ingredient also has me intrigued. Steven as usual is indispensable in describing the fragrance as he finds the musk to be clean and the iris to be subtle. MD, USA

    Psychedelique and Ambre Premier are the best Jovoy fragrances, both are in my possession.I have to say Psychedelique is beyond gorgeous, one of the best dark chocolate patchouli scents ever.Ambre Premier is amber , candied orange , rose , vanilla and musk.

    Jovoy Musc Pallas sounds amazing! I love that Michelyn got a seaspray note from it, but instead of being harsh like some other oceanic fragrances, Steven described it as being silky and smooth.     I found the connection that Michelyn described between CaFleureBon and Jovoy in curating the The Make it Musk Box to be very interesting, especially the inclusion of Jeroboam Flora by perfumer Vanina Muracciole, and wonder if the CaFleureBon Box helped inspire Jovoy to partner with Vanina to create Musc Pallas. With Stephen’s review, I found his thoughtful description of the silky, clean, elegant use ambrette, iris, vanilla, and muscanone in Musc Pallas both interesting and engaging.     Love the notes in the fragrance and how Michelyn links the sea spray note in the fragrance to Pallas which is part of the name of the fragrance to the Pallas who in Greek Mythology was good friends with Athena who was daughter to Triton and granddaughter to Poseidon. The play of different muscs in this fragrance is so great to explore. Love Steven talking about how the scent is clean, smooth and not loud scent. I have not had the opportunity to try any Jovoy scents so I do not have a favorite at the moment. I live in the USA.

    Musc Pallas I think is kind of different compared to most Jovoy Paris fragrances, easier to wear and more cozy.
    Karl Topham take on the fragrance , with Michelyn help made me think of being in Greece with my girlfriend , making Peach Cobbler and drinking bergamot juice.
    I do have a few favorite Jovoy fragrances:
    ☆ Fire At Will smells like classical Almond Flour Vanilla Cake , with toasted Brown sugar , and Raw almonds on top .
    ☆ Incident Diplomatique is special occasions only perfume.
    ☆ Ambre Premier smells like Caramel Rose Wedding Cake with Peaches , with real rose water in it.

    Thanks for highlighting your 2021 Make it Musk Box—it gives a sense of how much breadth can be found in that category. And Karl’s quote really has me thinking about what notes read as musk in a perfume and the various ways they intersect. Reading the notes list, I didn’t know what to expect from Jovoy Paris Musc Pallas, but Steven pointed out that this fragrance is a subtle, pleasantly sweet take on musks, focusing on the smooth aspects of musks without getting animalic. It sounds like an ideal warm-weather office fragrance.

    I’m in the USA. I haven’t tried any Jovoy Paris fragrances.

    I’m interested in trying “Musc Pallas” for multiple reasons, e.g. I can like musk fragrances which are as Steven says “smooth, clean, tranquil” and I think that it’s interesting that perfumer Vanina Muracciole is described as “a virtuoso musk alchemist.” I’ve been very intrigued to try something from Jovoy Paris (especially “Psychedelique” and “La Liturgie des Heures”) but I haven’t had a chance to yet.     There are actually 8 mythical figures in Greek mythology with the name of Pallas ,the two most famous are by far Pallas the Giant who during the Gigantomachy was not just killed , but also flayed by Athena , and Pallas the Titan .
    In the daughter of Triton story, he in fact becomes Athena foster father, and raises her together with Pallas, his own daughter by making them fearsome fighters. In a friendly duel between the two Athena unwillingly kills Pallas due to Zeus mockery.
    In the fragrance wold Jovoy Paris is literally The GOAT place, the epitome of niche fragrances with the knowledge and service like no other. I even had the absolute blast of meeting Francois Henin at the first Jovoy Paris boutique.
    I’m familiar with all Jovoy and Jeroboam fragrances, excluding Floro ,and if I have to rate my favorite ones not counting Jeroboam:
    1. Les Jeux sont Faits
    2. Fire At Will
    3. Ambre Premier/Psychedelique
    Musc Pallas is comforting, and easy to wear clean musk fragrance, on top of iris and peach.

What I found interesting about about Michelyn’s introduction was learning that Jovoy Paris Musc Pallas combines so many different musks, from ambrette, to red and white musks, and to even unique sea spray note that evokes a musky salty ambergris vibe. Most musk fragrances only feature one type so this sounds very intriguing.

    What I found interesting about Steven’s review was how he described the fragrance as smooth creamy and “delectable” although not sweet. I have not come across many creamy or gourmand adjacent musks so that definitely sounds like something I want to try. My favorite Jovoy Paris perfume so far is Fire At Will! I live in the US.

    Greetings everyone
    Walking into Jovoy in Paris is like waking into Victoria and Albert Museum in London, you’ll be fascinated by the sheer amount of elaborate fragrance brands, just like in Victoria and Albert Museum by the amount of elaborate jewelry from all over the world.
    I like how Ms Camen and Mr Gavrielatos described Musc Pallas , inviting and relaxing fragrance , and to my liking the musk in not from the more animalic varieties, but from more pure ones.
    I do live in Paris for quite some time now , of course I’m aware of Jovoy boutique, and Jovoy and Jeroboam . I bought multiple fragrances from them, almost all in person, as well as 2 x Jovoy, and 1 x Jeroboam . N1 is Incident Diplomatique

    Jovoy Paris is by far the best fragrance boutique i’ve ever been to-no US boutique comes even remotely close , or it will ever be.
    When and delightful musky and powdery iris meets Greek ancient culture , then Musc Pallas comes to play.
    I’m more than happy to have my favorite Jovoy – Remember Me , and my second favorite Incident Diplomatique.

    I love Michelyn’s introduction and Steven’s review of Jovoy Paris Musc Pallas. A high quality Musk fragrance that is all about musk that incorporates all types of musk from the fresh and clean varieties all the way to the other end of the spectrum. But is also adds sweet peach, ambrette, creamy iris, bergamot, and vanilla but it has a smooth, unique, tranquil, unisex, and subdued fragrance according to Steven. My favorite Jovoy fragrance is 21 Conduit St. I am from the USA.

    It’s interesting to see the focus between Outer Space and the explorations of different olfactory profiles.and the use of different kinds of musk to achieve this.

    It’s intriguing that the iris in this fragrance does not smell lipsticky. It’s also nice to see that this is a subtle fragrnace, that is sweet without being a gourmand.

    I love Remember Me Jovoy from this brand.
