We always feel privileged to be the first announce an new Nicolai Parfumeur Createur fragrance, as we have the upmost respect for the “First Lady of Niche” Patricia de Nicolaï and have done so since 2014 after I first interviewed Mme. de Nicolaï in celebration of the brand’s 25th anniversary
An excerpt: “Eau de Toilettes and citrus fragrances are very easy wear. Much loved during summertime, they seem more suitable than powerful and often heavy ‘eau de parfums’. You really feel refreshed wearing citrus notes and they make us feel happy. Citrus fragrances are very easy notes to wear. Much loved during summertime, Colognes and Eaux Tu Toilettes seem more suitable than powerful and often heavy ‘eau de parfums’. You really feel refreshed wearing citrus notes and they make us feel happy.”

Via email, I asked Madame de Nicolai about the inspiration for Nicolai Parfumeu Createur Riviera Verbena and she kindly replied:
“The French Riviera is a wonderful inspiration for any perfumer who is looking to personify in its creations. At the end of the wintertime, when you have a stroll in South of France, you are immediately seized by a whirlpool of fantastic scents! Besides, don’t we say that the boundaries of the country of Grasse are flowers? It is this emotion – in this springtime and luxurious atmosphere that exalts senses – that I wanted to recreate with Nicolai Parfumeur Createur Riviera Verbena.”
Notes: Petitgrain citronnier essence, lemon essence, mint essence, thyme, cut grass, verbena, calone, jasmine absolute, rose, vetiver, patchouli, musk
From the brand: Head to the French Riviera for a stroll in the lush gardens of the Mediterranean on the first sunny days of spring. In the shade of palm trees, the dazzling freshness of lemon mingles with fresh mint leaves and lemongrass. It is in this colourful picture that a green and slightly acidic verbena emerges. The sea spray, joined by the scent of thyme from the scrub and a delicate fragrance of jasmine, splashes it at the water’s edge.
