Best Fall fragrances 2021 niche and designer

The summer of 2021 was one to remember…or maybe forget. The world experienced the wrath of the weather gods, with torrential rains, hurricanes, hail, wildfires, tornadoes, flooding, wicked winds. record breaking heatwaves, extreme variances in temperatures. All this was compounded by Covid Delta variant, political unrest and too many late night zoom meetings. Now that  Autumn is here, we breathe a collective sigh of relief. The first of our two-part series Best Fall Fragrances 2021, (part 2 is September 22, 2020 the Autumn Equinox) when the days grow shorter and the hot breath of summer is finally gone.

Arcimboldo, Giuseppe Autumn, 1573

Arcimboldo, Giuseppe Autumn, 1573

Ole from Ramon Mongal
is a euphoric fruity experience that perfectly matches autumn’s exuberant explosion of colors. Sweet Majhūl dates, round-cuts of sunny pineapple floating in nectared juice, and wild red raspberries flow from a purple cornucopia, in delicious and mouthwatering waves. The heart of the fragrance is deep and woody, with a crown of dark orchids woven around the restrained aristocratic sensuality of jasmine. In the dry down, we are greeted by the dense and dark green needles of fir balsam, in juxtaposition to an unexpected fresh and airy layer, a combo that creates a woody, strong, and piercing energy that provides the counterbalancing yang to the fruity sweetness yin, and makes the fragrance completely, thoroughly, and joyfully unisex.

Top notes: Date, pineapple, raspberry; middle notes: Jasmine , orchid, cedarwood; base notes: fir balsam, musk, vanilla

“The sun sets,

relentlessly red –

yet Autumn is in the wind “-Haiku, Matsuo Bashō, (loose translation by Michael R. Burch)

The mornings are fresh again with a slight chill in the air, and the late afternoon rays from the slanted sun carry a distinctive golden hue, and a longing – for what? The summer that was?  The winter that is yet to be?   Autumn is here!  Hermetica Redmoon is a sleek, modern fragrance with a warm, sultry presence that is perfect for this time of year – it shines with a bronzed garnet glow off the skin like the late September sun, effortlessly alluring and chic.  This perfume is a short set of notes – a trio of vetiver, pink pepper, and leather – but much like the seemingly austere Haiku, reveals a complex cascade of emotions, depth and intensity. Hermetica Redmoon is one of my favorite Autumn fragrances.

Complementary notes: saffron molecule, bergamot essence, mandarin essence, mate absolute, violet leaf, jasmine absolute, cedarwood essence, lily of the valley, myrrh essence, musk molecule

Terram DSol best autumn fragrances

olfactory peregrination by Cristian

‘TERRAM’, or as D:SOL founder Dennis Werner so aptly describes it, “the silent path” is the fragrant welcoming of a dual sunset: the one at the end of the day, and the “sunset” that heralds the end of summer. It is the most melancholic of the current three offerings from D:SOL, and I find it to also be the most evocative. Resoundingly cinematic and nostalgic in a mythological way. Perfumer Marie Urban Le Febvre brings together notes such as Galbanum, Pink Pepper, magnolia, benzoin, Patchouli, Vetiver, Musk, Cedar among others, to create a fragrance that is dark and nostalgic. ‘Terram’ is an ode to a sun-kissed epilogues and a sweet welcome to autumn

best parfums de marly fo rfall 202

Like a cinnamon-spiced cider enjoyed on an autumn evening, certain aromas are innately tied to the changing of the seasons. Whether the occasion is pumpkin picking at Donaldson Farms in Hackettstown, NJ or simply raking leaves in the backyard, warm feelings towards the autumn season can emerge in an instant.  Once emerged, there are several fragrances that provide the perfect olfactory soundtrack to accompany the poignant sensation. One such fragrance is  Parfums de Marly Ojaan by Perfumer Shyamala Maisondieu, and this perfume is an appropriate pick for autumn with its resplendent tones of cinnamon, honey, and vanilla. The prolonged sweetness is possible due to sweet resins like labdanum and benzoin, which also enamor us with their balsamic warmth. Patchouli and musk in the dry down of the perfume secure the long-lastingness of the fragrance to create longevity that surpasses the amber-hued sunsets of fall.  Oajan is a blanket of warmth and comfort when the temperature starts to drop.  Notes: Honey, Cinnamon, Osmanthus  Amber, Labdanum, Benzoin, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Davana

Book Garden, Gina Litherland, oil on wood, 2000

Autumn in New England is so glorious that folk travel from all over to luxuriate in its splendor. ‘Leaf peepers’ who dwell in more temperate climes miss the diversity of our dramatically changing seasons, and nature pilgrimages are prevalent during this particular season. It’s my favorite, admittedly – the bracing winds, poignant embrace of Indian summer, with its warm days and cooler nights. I relish nothing better than to scuffle along and pounce upon crackly piles of multi-colored leaves. Oh, the soft sweaters and scarves! The luxury of a lit fireplace, hearty soups and breads, stews and cassoulets of every sort, mulled wines and cider! Dipping temperatures fill me with the desire for particularly opulent perfumes to accompany fall’s mercurial light and endless burnished hues as they mirror rich earth pigments. One such fragrance for Fall 2021is by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz of DSH Perfumes, created in 2017. It felt bespoke at once, as if Dawn had read my mind… FOXY was inspired by Roald Dahl’s charming story about that cunning fellow, The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Dawn has captured Farmer Bean’s apple whiskey and his wife’s “famous apple ginger snap’; each of the boozy accords are playful and elegant. She pulls out all the stops when it comes to animalics: costus, castoreum, cumin, ambergris, French beeswax and her own sable fur accord. Indolic jasmines, carnation and heady orange blossom flesh out the heart, which is speckled with spice and white thyme. FOXY is further grounded in amber, labdanum, leather, mitti and oak – but a mere listing of notes cannot properly convey the mischievous sumptuosity of this naughty swaddling perfume. Notes: African stone tincture, apple whiskey, ginger snap accord, peach skin accord, white cognac, ambergrisbrown oakmosscastoreumcostus, cumin, fossilized amber resinFrench beeswaxlabdanumleather, mitti, sable fur accord, benzoin, white oak, carnation, grandiflorum jasmineJuhi jasmine absoluteliatrixSpanish orange flower absoluteorrisspice notes, white thyme

Autumn in Central Park, NYC

Autumn in Central Park, NYC by Hernando©

For me, Autumn resembles the composition of a fragrance. The top note is the evanescent heat of September transitioning with the sun setting earlier in the sky and shadows growing longer on the ground. This initiates a sense of comfort, warmth, and reflection. The middle note presents the ardent turn that October delivers. The richness of leaves changing colors, cooling temperatures, and darkening nights turning us inward, both mentally and physically. The base note leads into November’s falling leaves, grey skies, and brisk air you can see exhaling. My fragrant transition from Summer to Fall is Coromandel Eau de Parfum by Chanel. It’s both earthy and elegant, sexy yet sophisticated, sensual but cozy. And, I adore its deep rich patchouli note. A masterpiece by Jacques Polge. Notes: Bitter Orange, Citruses, Neroli, Patchouli, Orris, RoseJasmineAmber, Benzoin, Musk, Incense – Hernando Courtright, Senior Contributor and Brand Ambassador

Mona di Orio Ambre best Fall fragrances 2021

Mona di Orio was able to take familiar notes in perfumery and color out of the olfactive lines. With Mona di Orio Les Nombres di Orio Ambre she does just that…but with a delicate hand. It’s at once demure and strident, vintage and modern, powdery and smoky, familiar yet foreign. Ambre hasn’t gotten the love of many of her other perfumes, which makes me dig in my heels and love it even more. I love it for its wearability, its creamy heart of ylang-ylang tinged with a dusting of dolor. I love Ambre because it transports me to the woods of the Forêt de Fontainebleau as the sky begins to darken and the air is filled with a strange resinous scent reminiscent of honey. Bathed in benzoin and enveloped in Madagascar vanilla, I open my eyes and return home. –Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

NOTES: Atlas cedarwood, ylang-ylang from Comores, benzoin, tolu, vanilla absolute from Madagascar.

  • Hi I Live in the USA, Iowa. I Would Love to win a bottle of Oajan I’ve loved pretty much every fragrance from their house so far. Very good list im looking forward to reading the next one.

  • mohamedtarek89 says:

Hi, I love Oajan, although most commonly I find myself reaching for his brother Carlisle for fall, the notes of apple with vanilla is literally everthing I look for in Fall season.
I would love to try Ole from Ramon Mongal.

    I live in Kentucky

  • This fall list is full of unexpected scents Not a hint of pumpkin spice!
I am in the US and would LOVE to win
    Hermetica Redmoon
    Parfums de Marly Oajan
    Ramon Monegal Ole
Parfums Mona di Orio Les Nombres d’Or Ambre

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  • I live in Louisiana, USA, and while it will be a few months before it feels like fall, I’m excited that it can at least SMELL like fall! I’m most excited about Ole by Ramon Mongal and Parfums de Marly’s Ojaan, although all of them have a quality that sounds appealing!

  • I’d love to win the perfumes de Marley, the Foxy, or the Redmoon. I love fall scents when things start to darken up and scents become richer. In maryland.

  • Of course I adore my Oajan in the autumn – and quite a few others from the PdM range – but Michelyn’s description of Mona di Orio’s Ambre really intrigues me. Loving the “dusting of dolor” quip. I wonder if it’s the ylang that gives the benzoin a honeyed effect? Sounds delicious. Would love to win both. As for Coromandel edp – a SUPERB choice. The autumn scarf superstar. MI, USA.

  • Wow, this is awesome. I can’t wait to break out some fall scents! If I were lucky enough to win, I think I’d have to go with Oajan first, and then Redmoon, and Ole. Would be happy with anything of course! Thanks for the draw. From Indianapolis.

  • I love amber and it’s perhaps in my top three notes in perfumery, so Ambre from Mona di Orio is the natural choice for me.
Thank you for the draw! Europe

  • Part 1 is a great read, I love hearing about the newest scents of the season. Hopefully Part 2 will be as informative.
I live in UK and I would be extremely happy to win any of the scents.

  • Incredible choices folks! I can’t wait to see part 2. I feel like these choices are a little more lively than some fall selections of youtubers. Solid choices! USA

    I would choose:
    1. PDM OAJAN
    2. D:SOL TERRAM
    3. REDMOON

  • I would LOVE to win, in decreasing order of preference :
    1. Parfums de Marly Oajan (what a lovely bottle)
    2. Parfums Mona di Orio of Les Nombres d’Or Amber
    3. Ramon Monegal Ole
    4. Foxy (because of the name, long list of notes, DSH, and Ida’s review)
    5. Hermetica Redmoon

Thanks for the draw!! I am from USA and also a Redolessence subscriber.

  • I liked the description for Terram and I feel like this one will be a winner to me!

Europe. Thanks!

  • I like that this is a list of fragrances I wasn’t expecting, I don’t own a single one. I’m in Indiana, where we look forward to the coming fall so we can escape the summer humidity of the midwest. And it happens to be my favorite season for fragrances. I’d be grateful to win any of them, I’m interested in these in this order:

    Terram
    Oajan
    Ole
    Redmoon
    Ambre
    Foxy

  • Wonderful article.Love the Fall pictures and fragrance suggestions.. They all scream FALL. I’m most interested in Redmoon. The notes sound beautiful. Thank you for this Chance.. USA

  • Fall is my favorite fragrance time of the year!! I can’t wait to try these perfumes. I would like to win one of the following:
    1. Oajan
    2. Les Nombres D’Or Ambre
    3. Ole
    4. Redmoon
    5. FOXY

Thank you for this draw! ~Indiana, USA

  • I read your autumnal-inspired musings with giddiness and glee…Autumn is my favourite season, I feel so alive! Your descriptions rang jubilant and I can’t wait to revel in the cooler temperatures and the falling leaves. It’s actually still pretty hot and summery where I live, which is fairly annoying. I really wish I could take a stroll along New England forests, the picture painted by Ida sounded heavenly. I also loved the cheeky reference to The Fantastic Mr. Fox, an ingenious and thought provoking animation (you should all watch it!). Please count me in for the draw of OLE by the lovely Mr. Ramon Monegal, I’m a sucker for grown up fruity perfumes. Greetings from (too) sunny Greece!

  • Yay! Fall is the BEST season and I LOVE fall scents! If a lucky winner, I would be happy with any of these! If one must choose, I would take Mona di Orio Les Nombres di Orio Ambre. The neo-vintage feel of Ambre sounds lovely! I have not experienced this house & would greatly appreciate the opportunity! Thank you, CaFleureBon, for the wonderful list to explore! ❤️ USA

  • OMG I would looooove to snuggle up with Foxy this fall!!! I’ve been really wanting to try DSH and I’m more an animalic than a gourmand lover. Fall is such an atmospheric and richly sensual season with a bit of melancholy. Looking forward to part 2 also. In US.

  • Love fall & all that comes with it!!! I can’t wait to pull some fall/winter fragrances & this review has me even more ready. Yes the summer of 2021 was definitely one to forget but fall is almost here hopefully that means brighter days to come!? #1 Parfums de Marley OAJAN Europerfumes Redmoon Parfums Mona di Orio after #1 not in any order. Thanks Cafleurebon love everything y’all do for us fragrance lovers!! Good luck everyone!!! USA & love your summer to fall fragrance!!

  • Oh, this list! I confess I have been clinging to summer, but these descriptions have me finally looking forward to the scents of fall! I live in the USA and would be thrilled to win Ole, Oajan, Foxy, or the Mona di Orio scent.

    Cheers!

  • It is so much fun to read the editors’ choices for fall fragrances as temps start to cool a bit along with why. While I’d be happy to try any of these, I’d chooseParfums de Marly Oajan first, thenRamon Monegal Ole. In NC USA

  • I enjoyed the diversity of the fragrances presented in this extensive review. If chosen as a winner in the giveaway, my choices are:
    Parfums de Marley Oajan
    Ramon Monegal Ole
Thank you for the opportunity. USA

  • Fall is my favorite season…and I love fragrances that reflect and enhance it. Here in Oklahoma, fall usually arrives far too late. But, out of the blue, today was a beautiful fall day. We’ll go back to a few more weeks of unpleasant heat, I fear. But today’s weather was perfect for reading this Part 1 of your fall fragrances list. I would love to win any of:

    Les Nombres d’Or Ambre
    Ole
    TERRAM
Oajan (I’m also a Redolessence subscriber)
    RedMoon
    Foxy

    They all sound wonderful!

I live in Oklahoma, USA (as I’ve already mentioned)

Thanks, as always, for the generosity of the draw!

  • The theme I noticed among the choices of the contributors is that they prefer warm, woody compositions during the fall season. It makes sense as we usually associate trees with golden leaves with the season. My choice for the draw may be Mona Di Orio Ambre, Ramon Monegal Ole, or Parfums de Marly Oajan. I am in US.

  • Brad Woolslayer says:

Fall is such an amazing time to experience a new fragrance. RedMoon sounds really interesting, and I’d love to win that bottle of RedMoon. I live in Maryland USA.

  • For me, as I’m sure for majority of people, autumn marks the transition from summer lighter perfumes to deeper, heavier and more complex ones which I love. Spicy scents with rich, comforting notes like tobacco, leather, tonka bean and incense is what usually I start wearing in autumn.
To be honest I would love to win any of the perfumes mentioned above as I don’t have anything from these brands in my collection. If I have to choose “TERRAM” D:SOL MMXVI sounds amazing and “Ambre” Mona di Orio also. Many thanks
    UK

  • Autumn is by far my favorite season and this article is perfect. I loved everyone’s fragrance picks and photos; they are all beautiful. The haiku included by Cynthia is nice. Steven’s comments regarding pumpkin picking and raking leaves are the epitome of autumn spirit. I absolutely love PDM Oajan and it would be amazing to own a bottle of it. I also really enjoy Mona di Orio Ambre and completely agree that it doesn’t get the attention it deserves; it is lovely. The combination of tolu balsam, benzoin, and ylang-ylang is very comforting. I love evergreens, so Ole and Terram sound very nice. While I’m personally not a fan of strong animalics, Foxy sounds intriguing and I do love Dawn’s creations. I will list what I would love to win in order of interest: PDM Oajan, Mona di Orio Ambre, D:SOL MMXVI Terram, and Ramon Monegal Ole. I will NOT enter for DSH Foxy and Hermetica Redmoon. Thank you for the article and the giveaway. I am located in the USA.

  • Thank you so much for this article, I must admit I am not familiar with the majority of the fragrances listed so I appreciated it even more, it’s always a pleasure to expand the knowledge about perfumery, there is so much to be learnt that one lifetime seems not enough! I also love this time of the year, also because September and October are really nice here in Milan, the weather is much cooler, the air is fresher and less humid and the colours are vivid. If I were the lucky winner I would go for Terram, then Olé and Les Nombres d’Or Ambre. Greetings from Italy

  • First the light is slightlly changed in the end of summer,i can almost smell the change in the air, later the fall brings the rich colours and the crave for comforting warm and deep fragrances supported by the crispier air. For me Ramon Monegal Ole,D:Sol Terram,Mona di Orio Les Nombres d’Or Ambre can be a choice for autumnal days, any of them since i haven’t tried any of them yet. Thanks for this draw and the reviews, from EU!

  • Fall is the best time of the year to wear perfumes. Thank you for the brilliant inspiration of what to wear in the upcoming months. I hope to win and wear one of you recommendations. I would like to enter the draw for:
    1. Mona di Orio Ambre
    2. Ramon Monegal Ole
    3. D:SOL Terram
    I live in Denmark, EU.

  • I’ll tell you a secret – even though I love reading reviews and interviews on Cafleurbon, my favourite articles are seasonal lists. Why? Well, because perfumes are inherently personal, our tastes are linked with our experiences in life, at least on subliminal level. The scents of our mothers and fathers, the scents from our hometown, our first love and so on. And reading the lists, I always get a sense of different, very different tastes from cafleurebon reviewers. I think part one is exquisitely different – Steven’s Oajan is very different than Terram, for example! I loved it! As for perfumes, I’d like to win Les Nombres d’Or Ambre since I Love the house of Mona di Orio, but I would very much like to try out Terram and Ole, since I’ve heard great things about both of these perfumes! I live in Croatia, EU.

  • Fall is my favourite season and I love transitioning from summer scents to fall scents. I’ve been recently wearing L’air du desert marocain which I adore. I love amber scents for this period as well.
From this list, I’m drawn to
    Ole by Ramon Monegal
    amd
    Ambre by Mona di Orio.
Many thanks for this fantastic draw. I live in France, the EU.

  • From all the reviews, I think the one that sang to me was Michelyn’s on Mona di Orio’s Ambre.
It looks like an easy to love take on amber, very warm and cozy.
    Thank you for the draw!

  • olfractalinfemme says:

So many facets of fall in the article. I love to read the many olfactory interpretations of its shining leaves and crispness. Two suggestions captivated me, Ole by Mongal with its rich fruit, and the cinnamon vanilla of Ojaan by Parfums de Marley. Autumn has not yet come to my corner of Maryland, USA, but I welcome its perfume.

  • This list has an inspired me to try a whole bunch of different scents this fall. I have a much bigger collection of summer fragrances than anything else so my fall collection is definitely lacking. I would love to try any of the following:
    Hermetica Redmoon
    Parfums de Marly Oajan
    Ramon Monegal Ole
Parfums Mona di Orio Les Nombres d’Or Ambre.
I live in the US. Thank you guys for always hosting stuff like this!

  • Bryant Worley says:

I thought that this list was fantastic, fit VERY WELL with the “Autumn” theme, and were descorted in such delicious detail that I want the 5 that I qualify for:

    1. Parfums de Marly Oajan
    2. Parfums Mona di Orio of Les Nombres d’Or Amber
    3. Ramon Monegal Ole`
    4. Foxy
    5. Hermetica Redmoon

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • Thank you for your fall recommendations, it’s my favourite season! Sitting on the early afternoon balcony right now, with sun and a bit of wind and Baraonda on my skin, it’s lovely. I’m most interested in Terram and also in MdO Ambre. I’d love to win these to Germany, thanks for the draw!

  • I loved reading the editors’ choices, from nostalgic and a bit gloomy perfumes to sweet and enveloping or resinous and woody. Each with their own appeal and personality.
I would LOVE to win Terram – with its nuanced, evocative nostalgia, this description spoke to me the most. But Ramon Monegal Ole sounds wonderful also: playful fruit on a layer of deep woods and orchid and then finally fir and resins. Talk about a combo!
So my choices would be Terram or Ole.
    I am in EU.
    Thanks!

  • Danny Constantinescu says:

Autumn is my favourite season and the perfumes your editors have chosen are all superb, however I for one am not drawn to Terram, which is most appealing to me, the description of its nostalgic, dual personality makes it extremely attractive and intriguing, this would be my one and only choice from the list. I live in London, UK.

  • Danny Constantinescu says:

  • It’s rich, sweet and spicy perfume season! <3 I love your list! So many beautiful mentions! What an incredible opportunity! I would definetly choose … 1) Oajan, 2) Ole, 3) Terram 4) Redmoon. I live in the USA

  • The part about the New England fall sounds like a delight. I hadn’t thought of Cassoulet in a long time. Such nice choices from the looks of the notes. I am going to wear Coromandel today and dream of winning Ole or Oajan!! Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • I live in Connecticut and it’s rainy and humid so I wish fall would come soon
    Each writer wrote so beautifully
Mona Di Orio ambre was like a poem as was Hermetica using the haiku
    Those are my two choices

  • Great selections! As much as I hate autumn and don’t want summer ever to end, this reminds me what I like about this season after all: my perfumes.
I am from EU, and would love to win Les Nombres d’Or Ambre or TERRAM.

  • Changing to the Fall season is exciting. What I liked most about this article is the descriptions of the weather changing and the reminder of some fragrances I’ve tried and new ones to be explored. It definitely put me in the mood to wear a Fall fragrance today whether or not I should is another question. 🙂
    I would love to win:
    1) DSH Foxy
    2) PdM Oajan
    3)Romon Monegal Ole
4)Mona Diorio Les Nombres d’Or Ambre

Thank you for the giveaway. In the USA.

  • Great selection of Fall fragrances in this article. I would like to win D:SOL TERRAM as it comes from a new niche house I haven’t tested yet. They have an interesting concept. I am located in EU.

  • Autumn is already here, rainy days and chilly weather – perfect time to relax, enjoying a hot tea and reading a great book, but also wearing the perfect perfume to match that mood.
I think that Mona di Orio’s Ambre is the missing piece here, that would make the setting complete for me.
    Thank you! European reader

  • whimsical diva says:

Hi – I absolutely love Mona di Orio. Definitely one of my top 5 fragrance houses ever. I own the Vanille and the Tuberose, and would love to win a bottle of the Ambre.

    I live in the US.

  • I loved Hernando’s description of Autumn as a scent that moves from the hotter days of September on to the falling leaves of November. I can see some scents as winter or summer, autumn and spring are trickier.

I would love to win either the Oajan or the Ole.

I am in North Carolina, USA.

  • What beautiful fragrances were chosen by the authors, but the review of Steven Gavrielatos evoked a greater response from me. I would love to experience that American fall atmosphere with picking leaves and getting ready for Halloween by picking pumpkins.
I also really liked Hernando Courtright`s comparison of autumn with a fragrant composition, when the top notes are the warmth of September, the middle notes are October, which prepares us for the severity of the November cold. And I agree that Coromandel is perfect for fall days! And, of course, Michelyn Camen described the creation of the Mona di Orio brand very beautifully. Amber also transports me to a dark forest, permeated with resinous conifers and warm smells from trees. Warm amber soothes me.
I got a real aesthetic pleasure reading the authors’ essays, thank you for your work!

I would like to get acquainted (and win) Ole and especially Les Nombres d’Or Ambre!!

    Location: Wisbech, UK

  • Very interesting choices! Sadly I dont know most of them. The on eI know, and where I agree with the suitability for autumn is Oajan.

Would like to win: D:SOL TERRAM

    Living in Germany, EU

  • redwheelbarrow says:

Wow these all sound fantastic. I’m not a fan of the colder months but I do prefer the colder weather fragrances so it’s some comfort. The only one on this list I’ve tried is Coromandel which I’m ready to start wearing again. I was first interested in Ole from Ramon Mongal because it sounds like the uplifting matched with the woodiness would be a great transition from summer to fall. I’ve also never experienced a fragrance with a date note. Oajan is a fragrance that has been on my to-sample list for some time and it sounds divine. And I love your description of Foxy with the apple whiskey note! Also I went through quite the Roald Dahl phase as a child. At this point I don’t think I could possibly choose between which I would want to win. I love these lists. They always show me how much sampling I should be doing. Thanks for the draw, from the US.

  • I love these picks for autumn. Amazing notes I also love love as soon as fall starts nocking. I additionally am happy about the perfumes presented here since most of them I didn’t try (and some of them didn’t even know about) so it was very nice discovering them. Since I’m in Illinois US I think my first pick would be Parfums de Marly – Oajan and second Ramon Monegal – Ole. And finally third pick is the amazing DSH – Foxy.

  • Great reviews, fall and winter are my favorite seasons so it’s not hard to agree with most of these choices of perfume. I’d choose to be entered for
Parfums Mona di Orio Les Nombres d’Or Ambre (I love her also under-applauded Dojima, and the 2 seem like they have some notes in common)
Hermetica Redmoon (big fan of the Hermetica samples I’ve tried so far. the texture of the alcohol free base is really satisfying to apply)
Parfums de Marly Oajan ( sounds truly delicious)
    I live in the USA.

  • Great selection for Autumn/Fall! It is a fantastic season where I can enjoy my stronger fragrances in the cooler weather. Oajan is fantastic. I highly recommend it myself!

I would love to win D:SOL TERRAM!

    Greetings from the UK!

  • What an awesome giveaway!!! Thank you so much. A great way to say hello to fall. I would love to win the following:
Parfums Mona di Orio- Les Nombres d’Or Ambre
    Ramon Monegal Ole
    Parfums de Marly Oajan
    Redmoon
    I am from Springdale, Arkansas.

  • Great choices for fall! To my nose, fragrances for fall are richer and more luxurious with additional complexity. I would love to win any of the following:
Parfums de Marly Oajan, Parfums Mona di Orio of Les Nombres d’Or Amber, Ramon Monegal Ole, D:SOL MMXVI, Hermetica Redmoon

    I’m in MD, USA.

  • Oh gosh… for me the summer of 2021 is one I’d rather forget but I will always remember it. It goes down in history as one of the worst summers ever personally. As I wait to welcome fall weather, I am dusting off the perfumes I’ve neglected. The warm golden smells of the season are my favorites, and they sit particularly wear and feel so comforting and right when the days start getting shorter.

I’m in the USA and I’d be excited to win any of these:
    Parfums de Marly OAJAN
Parfums Mona di Orio Les Nombres d’Or Ambre
    DSH Foxy

    Thank you! 🙂

  • It’s already feeling chilly and I’m looking forward to sniffing my fall fragrance collection. Thanks for everyone’s suggestions! If lucky, I’d choose Ambre or Redmoon. Mich USA

  • I seem to have trouble deciding on scents during these transitional months, even though autumn is probably my favorite season of the year so, this article really helps give me good ideas of the best types of scents to choose. I’d love Ole by Ramon Monegal, Foxy by DSH or Amber by Mona di Orio. US

  • I like that every single perfume in this list, except Oajan, is new to me. Not your typical top fall list ! But what I will remember is this beautiful metaphor about fall being like a perfume composition. So poetic and so true at the same time. If I’m lukcy enough, I would like to win Mona di Orio Ambre or Ramon Monegal Olé. I’m in EU (Romania). Happy fall to everyone!

  • I loved the variety between the choices. Definitely something for everyone. Ive not tried these but they sound amazing. Terram is particularly interesting but not for U.S. so If I was to win id choose:

    Ramon Monegal Ole
Parfums Mona di Orio 75 ml of Les Nombres d’Or Ambre
    Parfums De Marly Oajan

Thanks for the generous draw from CT USA

  • I liked Michelyn description of Mona di Orio Ambre and as I do not have much experience with this house, I wish to get my nose on Ambre now. Thank you! I am in Europe.

  • Fantastic descriptions and a good selection to choose from! Thank you! I live in the EU and would like to win

    D:SOL TERRAM –

sounds interesting and I really like their visuals. Checked out their website, too.

  • wandering_nose says:

Part one is a very sophisticated, non-obvious set of choices, I am grateful to have had the chance to read the opinions and fantastic descriptions from the CaFleureBon Contributors. I would be absolutely delighted to win Mona di Orio Ambre. Based in Ireland, EU

  • I enjoyed the different types of fragrances and the opportunity to know about brands I have never experienced. I would love to try Les nombres d’or ambre, Redmoon, Oajan, or Ole. Actually, I will like to try all of them.
    Greetings from Columbia, Maryland.

  • These are great choices for fall I was glad to see Oajan there no one writes about
Also the Hermetica red moon, ole and Mona di Orio ambre seem like I would enjoy each
Would love to win any of these three
    USA

  • I love the autumn season; there is a little bit of melancholy that the summer is over again especially on rainy days, but when it is sunny, slightly chilly and all the leaves have shades of reddish brown it is at its most beautiful. I tend to get a bit more adventurous with perfumes and like the more smoky ambery fragrances. I have not yet tried any of the fragrances in this Part I, but really like the sound of Parfums Mona di Orio recommended by Michelyn, because of the amber smoky notes. Also really like the sound of Ramon Monegal’s Ole with the fruity top notes described by Nicoleta. Marit UK

  • Mazikeen Smith 24 says:

Wow! These fall fragrances are great. Uniqueness and pleasant notes complimenting each other to bring warmth and comfort this fall season. My top picks are Parfums de maryly Oajan, Coromandel by Chanel, and Mona di Orio Les Nombres di Orio Ambre. As my love for vanilla will always be first. These three I can definitely tell that I’ll love them even though I havent tried them yet. Super stoked on Oajan because of cinnamon, honey, and vanilla <3
    Cheers from South Carolina, USA

  • WeAreScentient says:

Nice selection as usual, I’m all about the DSH Foxy and have a mini sample that I keep for feeling foxy 🙂 If I could win it I would.
    but my choices are
    D:SOL TERRAM
Parfums Mona di Orio – Les Nombres d’Or Ambre
    & Ramon Monegal – Ole
    Im in Dublin Ireland

  • Aaaah, fall. We just hit sweater season and I am feeling the need for heavier foods, coziness and warmth. Everything is bathed in the wonderful yellow of the sun, that is unique to autumn – it’s warm enough to let you know it’s there but still chilly that you don’t get hot and sweaty. Leaves turning yellow as a fitting response.

I really enjoyed reading about Foxy because DSH is such a creative soul

To be honest, I would be perfectly happy winning any of the fragrances available to folks in the US

    Cheers from WI, USA

  • I do not like the Autumn and the Winter, too cold for me. But I very like autumn and cold weather perfumes. These are sounds really good from the list. I would like to win Parfums Mona di Orio 75 ml of Les Nombres d’Or Ambre, Ramon Monegal for 50 ml of Ole and D:SOL TERRAM. Thank you for the draw. I live in Europe.

  • Fall is my favorite season and I am so looking forward to the cooler air, wanting to be outside, the fashion, and of course the cozy scents. I would love to win, Ambre. Texas

  • What a beautiful draw! Enjoying all perfumes’ description and about association with fall.
Especially I like Oajan with its balsamic warmth and patchouli.
    I love fall !!
    I would like to win:
    1. Parfums de Marly Oajan
    2. Parfums Mona di Orio of Les Nombres d’Or Amber
    3. Ramon Monegal Ole
    4. D:SOL TERRAM
    5. Hermetica Redmoon

    US

  • Such a wonderful lineup, and the very descriptive fragrance summaries are always appreciated. DSH – Foxy would be my first choice (I absolutely loved Roald Dahl’s work growing up, and still do), but I would also be thrilled with either Ambre or Terram. Located in California, US.

  • MarkMarkMark678 says:

Fantastic list! I wouldn’t have imagined the Ramon Monegal as a fall scent but yeah, I think it could work.
    I loved Cynthias line of:
“The mornings are fresh again with a slight chill in the air,“
It reminds me why I love fall so much.

I’d be happy with anything from this list, but if I were to choose, id choose in this order:

    Ole
    Parfums Mona Di Orio
    Red moon
    Oajan
    Mmxvi

  • I love, love, love this review! This week has been very rough with midterms, and reading this has just been so uplifting. As for the fragrances, they all sound so lovely. I love fall for many reasons, but most importantly it marks a shift in fragrance choices. I love gourmands, so Oajan from Parfums de Marly sounds so gorgeous, but this list of Fall Fragrances brought so many new brands and fragrances to my attention. If I am chosen, I do not have a preference. Thank you so much for this post. Kind regards from IN, USA.

  • Wonderful article and reviews! I thought part one of Best Fall Fragrances 2021 was very well written, with some incredibly interesting perfumes chosen that I had not heard about. I was particularly intrigued by the review of Oajan, and the incredibly transportive description of pumpkin picking, spiced cider, and leaf raking that Steven brought into his exploration of the fragrance.

I live in the continental US. I would love to win any (and all!) of the fragrances in the following order of preference:

    1. Parfums de Marly Oajan (I’m also a Redolessence subscriber)
    2. Parfums Mona di Orio of Les Nombres d’Or Amber
    3. Ramon Monegal Ole
    4. Foxy (because of the name, long list of notes, DSH, and Ida’s review)
    5. Hermetica Redmoon

    Thank you!

  • Mona di Orio’s Ambre has some of the notes that I absolutely love for the fall, when the weather starts to become chilly and you wear perfume to add an extra layer of warmth and mystery.
    Thanks. Europe.

  • I love Autumn just an excuse to bring out my Spicy and resinous fragrances. If I am successful I would love to win any from Parfums Mona di Orio 75 ml of Les Nombres d’Or Ambre, Ramon Monegal Ole or D:SOL MMXVI, we D:SOL TERRAM. Thanks a million from the United Kingdom

  • A beautiful piece I was really impressed by Oajan just because of the Apple and Spices just a absolutely majestic scent. If I am lucky to win I would love to win any from Mona di orio les nombres de ors ambre, Ramon Monegal Ole or D sol terram. Thanks a lot from the UK

  • My favorite autumn scent is Guerlain Mon Exclusif & MFK Grand Soir. I also love that this is not only my perception of autumn, *the mornings are fresh again with a slight chill in the air*. Even if we are talking about hot days, you can sense that the mornings are a little bit different since late august.

    My picks:
Parfums Mona di Orio 75 ml of Les Nombres d’Or Ambre
Ramon Monegal for 50 ml of Ole

Thank you for the chance, I live in Europe.

  • I love wearing perfume in the Fall. Sun still warms your skin but there’s a crispness in the air that makes fragrances come alive. Great suggestions on what to wear in the upcoming months. I would be delighted to win any of the following:

    2. Ramon Monegal Ole
    3. D:SOL Terram

    I’m from Ireland. EU

    I’d love to win
Parfums Mona di Orio 75 ml of Les Nombres d’Or Ambre

    Or Ramon Monegal Ole.

  • What.a wonderful selection of autumn scents! Many of them are new to me, this part of the year is great, after a brutal summer here we can finally catch a break. I love the choice of Coromandel. Really like that one and patchouli in general is a good option for fall.
I live in the US and my options are:
    Redmoon
    Mona di Orio Ambre
    Oajan
    thanks!

  • I haven’t had a chance to try any of the fall fragrances on your list so far. According to description and notes, the couple attracted my attention and I would like to try Mona di Ombre Ambre and Ole Ramon Mongal. I’m live in Germany

  • Sandro Mateush says:

Very beautiful photos and a charming article!
I love autumn for its harmony with a scents. Fragrances are intertwined with air and the environment and create an amazing picture.
    Unique time for unique fragrances.

I’d like to take a part in the draw:

    3. D:SOL TERRAM

    I’m from EU, Ukraine, Kyiv.
    Thank you!

  • I think that this Best Fall Fragrances 2021 article is a good way to discover some fragrances which I can like, and to be reminded of ones which I’ve already heard of. I am a subscriber to Steven’s channel. I hope to win: Parfums de Marly “Oajan”, D:SOL TERRAM, Ramon Monegal “Ole”, Parfums Mona di Orio 75 ml of Les Nombres d’Or Ambre, 100 ml bottle of RedMoon, or DSH Perfumes “Foxy”. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • Thanks for the hard work to all contributors. My favorite of your recommendations are:
    1. Oajan Parfums de Marly
Steven is correct saying ” certain aromas are innately tied to the changing of the seasons”
I have sampled / smelled all Parfims De Marly fragrances , excluding Oriana. My favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance is by far Habdan , Oajan is my second favorite.
    2. Olè Ramon Monegal
Why we’ve never met before? I will order a sample next week. Pineapple, dates , cedar tamed down by balsam fir? Come on…
Enjoyed Nicoleta review so much, I feel like I just opened a can , and out of it positive emotions busted right into my face
    3. Ambre Mona di Orio , like Michelyn said is smoky, and familiar, and a bit vintage cozy fragrance.
    4. D:SOL Terram is mixing best of both worlds, masculine and earthy woody aromatic, with resins and 98% dark chocolate. Modern and appealing to different demographics
Coromandel is still good, and seductive , but it’s not what it was before …
If I win I’ll pick either Oajan , or Olè
    Thanks a lot
    USA

  • Although Parfums de Marly Layton gets all the glamour, to my nose Oajan is the unsung hero. A true sort of hidden masterpiece that’s perfect for the cooler months. Would love to win Parfums Mona di Orio Les Nombres d’Or Ambre and Ramon Monegal Ole. VA, USA.

  • I love fall! I’m in CA, so we don’t get much of what you’d think of as fall but I still roll out the fall fragrances in September! I love the phrase “olfactory soundtrack” and our fragrance choices really do set a mood for the day and hum along with us, don’t they? I’d love to try any of these but if I only chose one it would be the Parfums Mona di Orio Les Nombres d’Or Ambre. “Bathed in benzoin” sounds like heaven!

  • I see Cafleurebon is on the Fall train already 🙂
    – Oajan is cozy , and cuddling fragrance
By the way , Delina Exclusive , my favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance
    – Ole sounds so cheerful, positive and truly full of joy , and genuine emotions, it’s like a remedy for the horrendous weather on the outside .I own 10ml decant, Mon Patchouly , top quality creamy floriental , with slightly churchy incense nuances. Same quality I’m expecting from Ole
    – TERRAM D:SOL MMXVI Woody , piny , with dark chocolate kind of patchouli. I like how different the scent is , and Cristian crane origami.
    – Mona di Orio Les Nombres di Orio Ambre
“modern, powdery and smoky, familiar yet foreign”
Thanks for sharing your Fall choices ,and cheers with Pinot Noir , I’d prefer to get Oajan or Ole
    USA

  • Wonderful pictures and fantastic descriptions with autumn feelings and scents! Sunray through the yellow autumn leaves, aw…
I live in the EU and would like to win AMBRE by Mona di Oro or D:SOL TERRAM. Thank you!

  • In my opinion the best fragrances here are
*Ole is full of the joys of life , untroubled and sparkling. It’s fruity, slightly green and with right amount of sweetness. It’s also interesting how it was created, I remember it was related to a famous Spanish artist
*D:SOL TERRAM is classically structured , and well made woody aromatic , bottle fits the fragrance very well.
    *Oajan
Back in the days , when I was younger I considered and gourmand fragrances way too feminine. Now I think otherwise , and I do enjoy them a lot . Oajan smells like the Fall itself
My favorite PDM is Layton Exclusive , and i’m happy to own a bottle. Thanks Steven for the suggestion
*Mona di Orio Les Nombres di Orio Ambre
I know nothing about the house, I like how Michelyn described Orio Ambre
    Oajan or Ole please
    Thanks
    USA

  • Such a pleasure to read
I had to read twice all the reviews. I’ll go with
    1. Ole Ole Ole
I’ll make sure to get a sample. Nicoleta take on reminded me of making, and later eating Pineapple and Raspberries upside down Cake , while sitting on the grass beneath a pine tree. The mix of all those things is how I imagine Ole would smell.
I happen to have one Ramon Monegal bottle called Bravo. Smells like a hookah to me , I love it.
    2. It’s a toss up for me between Herod and Oajan, for my favorite Parfums de Marly fragrance. Oajan is…. how a nice bakery should smell
    3. Dark Chocolate Honey and Pine Nut Wedding Cake , with pine honey in it. Cristian take on D:SOL TERRAM reminded me of the whole thing.
    4. Mona di Orio Ambre , for the rare occasions when i have to wear a suit.
    I’d love to win 1.Oajan 2.Ole
Appreciate sharing your part 1 Autumn choices, and the giveaway campaign

  • Very interesting choices!!
Love Oajan and Mona di Orio Ambra!
But liked Ole Monegal description – deep and woody, with a crown of dark orchids woven around the restrained aristocratic sensuality of jasmine” – sounds beautiful! Need to try it.

    1. Ramon Monegal Ole
    2. Parfums de Marly Oajan
    3. Parfums Mona di Orio of Les Nombres d’Or Amber
    4. D:SOL TERRAM
    5. Hermetica Redmoon

Hermetica Redmoon, Ole Monegal, Oajan PdM, Terram D:sol
    Ambre Mona di Orio
    US

  • Awesome choices guys One by one
-Three years of my life I’ve spent in Spain , mostly in Seville Spain, capital of Andalusia Local girls are really hot,but overly jealous , and a bit crazy . Ole i imagine being made by the image of of a beautiful Iberian woman, passionate, but short tempered , the one you definitely don’t want to disappoint, and make mad
    – Oajan is my favorite Parfums de Marly, it’s full , balsamic sweet oriental I enjoy a lot .
    – Grown up , and polished woody and balsamic fragrance, my thoughts on D:SOL TERRAM . Not for US based subscribers unfortunately
Compliments are really important to me, and if you’re like me, Ole and Oajan will get you noticed , smelling amazing of course.
    Overly exciting giveaway, USA

Autumn is my favorite season because 90% of my perfume collection can be worn now, can’t wait! This 1st part made me remember how much I love Oajan and ambery fragrances. I would like to win Ramon Monegal Ole, Mona di Orio Ambre or D:SOL MMXVI. Thank you for this chance!
    EU here 🙂

  • The description of Parfums De Marly Oajan is what I have in mind when I think autumn! I would love to win that, if chosen. I can’t wait for the weather to cool a bit so can start wearing the heavier scents. Greetings from Texas!

  • Great selection for fall season. my picks will be as follow
    Parfums de Marly
    RedMoon
    Ramon Monegal Ole
    D:SOL MMXVI,
    Parfums Mona di Orio

    I am in CA USA

  • Thank you for another beautiful list to usher fall in. I see beauties in here that I would probably have never heard of and I’d be stoked to win any of the following:-

    1. Parfums Mona di Orio – Les Nombres d’Or Ambre
    2. Ramon Monegal – Ole
    3. DSH Perfumes – Foxy

Thank you for the kind draws. I’m in USA

  • Ambre Mona di Orio I own, nice one Michelyn It’s everything you said it is. The one thing I would add , is that I think it’s a vintage kind of fragrance.
I’ve been a Chanel girl all my life, I remember Hernando Courtright sharing his love for Coromandel a couple of times during the years, here on Cafleurebon. EdP is a good fragrance, but the vintage Les Exclusifs Coromandel i find vastly superior.
    I’m interested in:
    1. Olè , Passionate dance , dates , fresh pineapples, Ole is so festive, so cheerful.
One of my favorite fragrances is Impossible Iris – Ramon Monegal. Sweet fruity-floral that always makes me happy , I do think Ole will be just as good , why not even better?
Thank you Nicoleta for sharing your thoughts in such a nice way
    2. Parfums de Marly Oajan is transitional weather fragrance , it shows that the cold , rain and nasty weather conditions are here
It’s my favorite Parfums de Marly by the way, but Delina Exclusif is breathing in its neck all the time.
    3. I don’t know D:SOL MMXVI and the perfumer Marie Urban Le Febvre
TERRAM drew interesting olfactory image in my mind, I always end up my morning jogging with small block of Lindt chocolate
Parfums de Marly Oajan/Ramon Monegal Olè would be fantastic
Thanks for the hard work, and the draw
    USA

  • Is it just me, or the Fall came way too fast? I’m going with the picks of
    -Nicoleta Tomsa
There’s something really nostalgic in her review , good old pre-C…d days with expensive hotels , luxury restaurants , passionate events , going to the cinema every week, i miss those days .
At the same time it’s nice to see Ole clicks with Nicoleta in a really nice way. Dates and pineapples i love , and i wonder how good the blend is , with the white flowers , cedar and the raspberry . Such a welcoming gem
    -Cristian Marianciuc
Interesting fragrance, no doubt. Patchouli, vetiver and dark chocolate , classy and elegant scent is what I’m expecting from D:SOL TERRAM
    -Steven Gavrielatos
Oajan is a true modern day classic
    -Michelyn Camen
Mona di Orio Les Nombres di Orio Ambre , smoky amber , with madagascar vanilla
    If I win – a) Oajan, b) Ole or c) Ambre
    Thank you all

I live in New York, USA, and while it will be a few months before it feels like fall, I’m excited that it can at least SMELL like fall! I’m most excited about Ole by Ramon Mongal and Parfums de Marly’s Ojaan, although all of them have a quality that sounds appealing!
