Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum Review (Roja Dove) 2021 + Unravel the Mystery Draw

Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum review

Painstakingly handcrafted, comprised of rare and exotic materials—this is the expectation engendered by the word “luxury,” and Roja Parfums is a luxury perfume house. Roja Parfums fragrances are poured into striking glass bottles, topped with bespoke, 24 carat gold-coated caps, and nestled into handmade, silk-lined boxes. Founded in 2011 by British perfumer Roja Dove, Roja Parfums is renowned for using highly sought-after ingredients such as Rose de Mai and Jasmine de Grasse. “I believe a perfumer is a poet or a storyteller who creates the tangible from the intangible, abstract images that strike at our core,” explains Roja Dove via the brand website. “We are painting pictures but we just don’t use paint. We are telling stories but we don’t use words. Instead we allow raw materials to express our ideas, our vision, using the language of perfume. ”

In the United States, this fragrance is called Creation-E Essence de Parfum, but in Europe it is called Enigma Essence de Parfum. The star of Creation-E Essence de Parfum is jasmine, a flower often used to represent hope, love, and/or spirituality. After a sharp, bright burst of bergamot and geranium, Creation-E Essence de Parfum settles quickly into a darker jasmine that is rife with dense, damp, and animalic indole. As the fragrance opens further a ripe peach emerges, all furry velvet skin and sweet juices.

Though the indole at first suggests a fragrance that will have enormous sillage and projection, Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum is harnessed, tamed, and gentled by its heart notes. Rose de Mai, heliotrope, orris, and sandalwood step forward to temper the soaring jasmine with a creamy, slightly powdery softness. Underneath that jasmine, rose, and lingering peach, the core of Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum is a salty ambergris and musk. The base notes showcase the spotlight-stealing jasmine even as it is softened by a powdery rose. It brings to mind the 1953 classic “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” which paired the ambitious and effervescent Marilyn Monroe with a sultry and fiercely loyal Jane Russell.

Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum is both opulent and ambiguous. It is familiar but at the same time strangely exotic, sensual but also aloof. It wears closer to the skin, but it is not a skin scent. Though it is very long-wearing, Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum remains a powdery, softly floral. It’s an enigma. As the Roja Parfums website suggests—“unravel the mystery.”

Notes: Bergamot, geranium, rose de mai, neroli, jasmin de Grasse, ylang ylang, heliotrope, peach, patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, orris, ambergris, musk.

Disclaimer: A bottle of Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum was provided by Eden Square for this review. My opinions are my own.

  • Who would not want a luxury perfumes. The main thing I get from this is the center stage is se for jasmine note. I like the sound of an exotic enigma of a parfumes.I don’t have a favorite Roja perfume, definitely like to get the chance to wear this one.

Love the house , and have many of they re offerings , creation e being my favourite one . Would love to try this one out , new york , usa .

  • After reading Dalya’s article, I loved the way she conpares the base notes of Roja Parfums Creation-E to” Gentleman prefer Blonds”!Very Creative. The Blond and Brunette, Jasmine and Rose. The notes of this fragrance are amazing. I hope I can try it! California

  • AleksCipri says:

I was always very interested in trying Creation-E. But after Dalya’s review I think I would actually prefer Creation-E Essence. I really like that bergamot and geranium opening settles into indolic jasmin combined with rose and my favorite… peach. I’m glad that you can smell peach. Sandalwood, orris and musk in the base are of course alway an amazing combination. All of it just sounds so lovely. I’m from Illinois, US.

  • Such an opulent house with creative offerings. I have seen several interviews online and Sr. Dove does indeed to be a kind soul with a deep passion for fragrances. I enjoyed the article above which describes his creations as stories without using words… this is the main reason that I love wearing fragrances. Florals are my favorites, especially more complex ones that tell stories, and Creation-E Essence de Parfum sounds like it is definitely my kind of perfume. My favorite from the house so far is Elysium. Thanks for the generous giveaway. Ky, USA

  • I haven’t read many reviews on these Essence de parfums but I do love Jasmine. My favorite Roja Parfum is Scandal

  • GennyLeigh says:

Sounds like a classic bombshell perfume with the rose/jasmine/patchouli blend, the juiciness of the peach and the powdery heliotrope. The orris and the ambergris are the exotic twists for me. The bottle is striking. Favorite Roja Parfums is Pour Femme. Commenting from MD, USA.

  • I’m intrigued about the indole jasmine even if it is tempered by the sandalwood and accompanying notes. Sounds lovely as most Roja fragrances. My favorite Roja is Elysium.

  • KMBfragrance says:

Then enigmatic and animatic facets of this fragrance sound fascinating. I haven’t yet experienced any Roja Parfums, but I would love the opportunity. Writing from Missouri, USA.

  • Great review! I am intrigued by the indolic nature of the jasmine, as I am sure Roja is a master of utilizing this note in all the right ways. I love how Dalya describes the fragrance in the context of a film, because that helps to envision what it might smell like. I would love to try this out! Matt, New York, USA

  • I absolutely love Jasmine and with the peach makes this fragrance sound divine. Roja is nothing but quality. Indiana USA

  • I recently purchased a sample of Creation-E Cologne and absolutely love it! This formulation sounds amazing as well. The jasmine and sandalwood combination as mentioned in the review would surely be a favorite. Elysium is my favourite this week. Cheers.

  • Thank you Dalya for that wonderful ode to luxury perfumery. I’ve loved the two that I’ve tried from this house and they exude luxury and excellent blending. So far my favorite is Elysium and Creation-E Pour Homme. I’d love to try Creation-E Essence de Parfum and experience those soft powdery notes 🙂 Thank you Euro Perfumes/Eden Square for the giveaway and I’m in USA

  • This is so interesting–I’m still grasping what powdery/orris notes are, so this is another good exercise in understanding. I love scents that are described as intimate and sensual, and that’s what this sounds like. I’m also very intrigued by different uses of ambergris–what a fascinating ingredient. Salty peach, indolic florals–it just sounds divine to me! Portland, Or. Thank you!

  • Dalya really made Creation-E Essence De Parfum sound beautiful. The jasmine supported by the numerous other florals and peach drying down to sandalwood, vanilla, orris, ambergris, and musk sounds like an amazing combination of notes. I really liked this part of the review as well, “Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum is both opulent and ambiguous. It is intensely familiar but at the same time strangely exotic, sensual but also aloof. It wears closer to the skin, but it is not a skin scent. Though it is very long-wearing, Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum remains a powdery, softly floral. It’s an enigma.” It really does seem to be interesting and mysterious and I’d love to try it. So far I’ve only smelled the Parfum Cologne line from Roja and some of then only briefly but is say my favorite is Creation-E Parfum Cologne. Thanks for the generous draw, from CT USA.

  • From reading the review Creation E seems like a whirlwind of different experiences, it seems the fragrance takes you on a journey of its own and i would love to hop on. I have only tried Great Britain from Roja Parfums and have still yet to experience more from the house to pick a favorite.
    From Va, USA.

Wow, this sounds amazing, I love jasmine when it is combined with rose. I have never tried Roja 🙂 I am in USA

  • kramerongo says:

I like dark jasmin with neroli and add musk that will make it dark with sweet at the dry out, perfect for gentleman or lady. My favorite most be Creation E among many Roja frag that is fantastic. I am in CA USA

  • Nice to see a fragrance that is more about you than everyone else. Good for those days when you are not interested in impressing anyone else, but if they get close, will know you are wearing something special. I have not tried any Roja yet.

  • What an intriguing scent description. I adore ambiguity, and luxury, so I am very interested in Creation-E Essence. I have never tried anything from Roja Parfum. I am in the US.

  • The thought of jasmine scented flowers has me craving warmer weather. I loved the pics of Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner and Elizabeth Taylor. Mich USA

  • Thanks for clearing up the Creation E/Enigma mystery. It was probably only me who wasn’t clear on that. I love the bottles!!! I’d love to win this, purple is my favorite color. My local stockist only carries a few of the line, fortunately I am leaving for Florida and Neiman Marcus is on my list to go try to find my big splurge scent for my upcoming 60th birthday. I wonder if this would have been Marilyn’s signature scent. My favorite from the few I have smelled was Sweetie Aoud and Amber Aoud. Thanks for the chance. USA.

  • Ohh this appeals to me very much so. I haven’t had the opportunity (or the funds ) to get any from them although did recently get a 7ml of Danger essence pour femme and really like it! Would love to discover this one, what really grabbed my attention in this article was the idea of it being an enigma as the euro name suggests. Being compared to one of my favorite Marilyn movies helps too! Thanks! NY, USA

  • What a beautiful bottle Creation E Essence perfume comes in, plus Dalya’s review paints it as a luxury perfume, with such lovely notes. Unfortunately, no experience with Roja Parfums, yet, for me. I like the fact that it’s made with very high quality ingredients, but like exquisite paintings, the prices of Roja Parfums are also at the high end for many. Would love to win this draw, to try out a truly luxury perfume. Appreciate the review and a generous draw. Writing from the USA.

  • The women Creation-E Essence de Parfum seems like quite a different composition from the men one. Here the star is jasmine and it is sensual composition. I am in US

  • chrisskins says:

I am weeping jasmine tears of joy that a Roja Dove is being offered today. His blends are sublime. In a weak, wonderful moment, I ordered his body cream last year. So wonderful, I put a dab on Saran wrap so my neighbor could have her own glorious moment with it. I love Fetish. I live in the USA.

  • Amazing description ! Thank you Dalya!
Rose de Mai, orris, and sandalwood, than jasmine with a creamy softness, peach- all together will be perfectly beautiful, as almost all Roja perfumes.
I love Roja Parfums, and especially I love PDLN 3.

  • I’ve been wanting to try something from Roja Parfums since I started to hear about them but, right now, I can’t afford anything from them. I’m under the impression that Roja Parfums might produce some of the best fragrances ever, but I don’t know that right now. I’m interested in trying the high-quality ingredients that they use, like, e.g. the Rose de Mai, heliotrope, orris, and the Jasmine de Grasse. I live in MD., U.S.A.

  • Definitely Roja perfume is on of the luxurious brand and I tried several ones before. Jasmine in Creation-E is looks perfectly placed. And honestly didn’t know that any one used Lasmin de Grasse, it is surprising to me. And combination it with sandalwood and musk is interesting. I like Elysium, but still don’t have favorite Roja perfume, and love to try Creation-E. From CT, USA

  • My favorite Roja is Fetish. Beautiful leather Chypre. Creation E is an easy to wear everyday fragrance with depth. Dalya Azaria gave an excellent description. State Texas or Puerto Rico.

  • animalic jasmine is one of my new obsessions — so yes, please. so far my favorite dove scent is the wonderful diaghilev …

    ~harper (usa)

  • I’m very curious about this one as all Roja creations are surprisingly awesome. The notes are so nice and the description makes me think that this has what it takes to be another reference fragrance for the perfumery world. I love Amber Aoud from Roja, the best amber I have smelled until now. CA, USA

Thank you for the great review Dalya.

Roja certainly does put a lot of effort into their bottles. This fragrance certainly sounds like a fragrance of contradictions.

I’ve only had the chance to smell Roja Vetiver Cologne.

    Cheers from WI, USA

    Dalya, Hello!

What I like about Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum is this: “After a sharp, bright burst of bergamot and geranium, Creation-E Essence de Parfum settles quickly into a darker jasmine that is rife with dense, damp, and animalic indole. As the fragrance opens further a ripe peach emerges, all furry velvet skin and sweet juices.”

I have yet to try a Roja, so I don’t have a qualified favorite, but I’m looking forward to trying Amber Aoud, Danger Pour Homme, and Chypre Extraordinare.

I live in Waldorf, MD, USA.

  • forrestanez says:

This fragrance sounds wonderful! I have never had the pleasure of smelling anything from Roja Parfums. I love smelling jasmine and ylang ylang on my wife and it is also some of her favorite notes in perfume. I would absolutely love to win this for her as a birthday gift. I am sure she would go wild.

  • Creation-E is a super interesting name for sure, and the Roja brand matches the luxury with their fragrances. I’ve never tried Roja (far out of budget), but I would love to get my hands on one.

  • What I love about Dalya’s review was the note that this fragrance is familiar but at the same time strangely exotic. It sounds lovely. I don’t have a favorite Roja so this could be the one! USA

  • Because of Dalya take on Creation-E Essence de Parfum , and the peach and almond notes, I imagined making and eating Peach and Almonds Upside down Cake, and sitting next to a bouquet of Jasmine flowers.
Since I’m a traditionally trained in Paris Pastry Chef, I can’t help but being heads over heals about Sweetie Aoud , fragrance made to mimic the smell of French Pastry Shop, and particularly freshly baked croissants 🙂 Creation-E is my second favorite Roja Dove.
Appreciate Dalya review, and the giveaway campaign

“In the United States, this fragrance is called Creation-E Essence de Parfum, but in Europe it is called Enigma Essence de Parfum.”

Actually all over the world the fragrance is known as Enigma, not just in Europe. Some other company owns the rights of “Enigma” name here.

“The star of Creation-E Essence de Parfum is jasmine, a flower often used to represent hope, love, and/or spirituality. After a sharp, bright burst of bergamot and geranium, Creation-E Essence de Parfum settles quickly into a darker jasmine that is rife with dense, damp, and animalic indole.”

Thankfully I get something different. I had to order samples from Europe, because of the C… situation a lot of fragrances are coming to US later than usual , and I’m not a patient person. On my skin jasmine is present, but it’s supportive, and not the main player on the field , it’s also clean and not dirty, and indolic.

“As the fragrance opens further a ripe peach emerges, all furry velvet skin and sweet juices.”

Yes , the peach to me is really sweet, and juicy. It’s also sugary and borderline gourmand. It could be my body chemistry, but I also perceive nutmeg and cinnamon .
Roja Dove fragrances I’m a fan of- at the moment I own 2 bottles, both vintage Enigma Pure Parfum , and Bergamot Extrait.
Already follow all the profiles on Instagram, plus @hauteparfumerie .
    Nice opportunity, thanks

My favorite Roja Dove fragrances are Vetiver Pour Homme Parfum Cologne , and Creation-E Parfum .
Essence de Parfum feels sexy , juicy fruits on top of sandalwood and jasmine.
    Exciting giveaway, USA
    Regards

  • I only know 3-4 Roja fragrances . My favorite one is Elysium Pour Homme Parfum , but at the end I got the Cologne version. I prefer both the bottle and the smell of the Parfum. I’m not cheap by any means, still I have to admit price difference between the two is quite big.
I’ll gladly wear Creation-E Essence de Parfum , you can’t go wrong with sandalwood, rose and slightly funky facets from Roja Dove.
    Thanks for the draw

I have not yet tried any Roja creations. I didn’t realize that Creation-E Essence de Parfum goes by a different name in Europe!! I’m a huge fan of jasmine, and I’ve been noticing that many of my favorite fragrances contain peach. This fragrance sounds like a beautiful one, and I would love to try this one. Thanks for the informative post! Located in the US.

  • IvanVelikov says:

Creation-E Essence de Parfum attracts me the sandalwood, iris , ambergris and musk notes. Soft florals are suitable for business occasions.
Roja Dove sure knows his job , no wonder almost all fragrance enthusiasts puts him on such pedestal , it’s not just Dalya .
My favorite Roja Dove is Amber Aoud Absolue Precieux. Mesmerizing scent , but the price tag for 30ml bottle is the staggering €990 , not sure what the US price is, I guess the alternative in $.
It’s out of my reach for now , let’s put it this way.
Elysium Pour Homme Parfum Cologne is my work horse , and Creation-E , boozy and sweet goodness, my date scent.
    Thank you all

  • Creation-E sounds delightful! I love jasmines, in all their glory. In particular, indolic ones tend to get some hate for their “dirty” connotations but I find that alluring and sensual, so this sounds right up my street! The way that peach, musk, and ambergris are used to wrap up and soften the jasmine seems that the fragrance will leave a gentle but memorable trail, which sounds lovely!

I would love to try this – thanks for the draw! KY, USA.

  • Top notch elegant floriental I don’t know, but I’m eager to try . Also voluptuous , juicy sweetness , heliotrope and rosy , sounds awesome.
All Roja fragrances I have smelled are deep , and never linear , my expectations of Creation-E Essence de Parfum are really high now , I’ll definitely sample it.
Risque for men is in my possession – phenomenal scent , and the best Roja Dove fragrance i’m familiar with , and one of the best fragrance i’ve ever smelled. It’s marketed for men only, but it’s 100% unisex to me-as a woman i don’t have a problem wearing it.In US is known as Creation-R….don’t know why. Maybe it’s the same thing like Enigma -> Creation-E.
    Cheers from VA

  • Adventurous, classy ,different fragrances with its own DNA , and look , in my opinion Roja Dove is literally the epitome the niche, and high end perfumery. I expect no less from Creation E Essence de Parfum.
The one Roja Dove I have the pleasure of owning is Elysium Pour Homme – the blue bottle, but because of Dalya excitement I really want to try the whole Essence line.
Thank you Dalya for the fine work, and Europerfumes and Çafleurebon for the draw.

What appeals to me about Roja Parfums Creation-E Essence de Parfum based on Dalya’s review is the beautiful presentation and quality ingredients that Roja is always known for. Dalya is a very talented blogger and reviewer in describing this fragrance. I am from the USA.

  • Somehow I have never tried a Roja perfume. Jasmine is a favorite note of mine, and I would love to see how Roja Dove makes it opulent, something I feel his perfumes are known for. The rose and peach notes also sound divine. Thanks for the draw and the review!
