XERJOFF Kobe Review (Jacques Flori)  + Holy Neroli! Draw

Xerjoff Kobe review

collage of Xerjoff Kobe (luckyscent©), neroli, orange blossoms and pettigrain (via pixaby)

The House of Xerjoff has grown substantially since 2007, when it released Homme. I interviewed Sergio Momo, the founder of Xerjoff in 2011 and asked him about the core values of his brands. Sergio Momo wrote “Xerjoff is all about NATURE and ITALIAN CRAFTMANSHIP. The intent of Xerjoff was to use the best of what the world and nature has provided us and combines this with what man can achieve. Italians have for all of history, taken pride in craftsmanship

As Sebastian addresses in his video, Neroli plays an important role in Xerjoff Kobe, (from the Shooting Stars Collection and composed by Jacques Flori in 2009)and is supported with resins, oud and dry woods. Neroli is the floral essence distilled from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree.  For me it’s as if the entire bitter orange tree, its branches, fruit, blossoms and leaves are blended and a thread of smokiness from the oud that hints of Middle Eastern Bazaars woven throughout. The scent of neroli is powerful, floral, powdery, light and green with spice notes.  Throughout history, aromatherapists and herbalists have long known that neroli and orange blossom alleviate insomnia, anxiety and depression. In effect, it is the “Xanax” of perfumery and Xerjoff Kobe is well-suited for these unsettling times. -Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

  • Sebastian says Kobe opens with big orange juicy note and eventually sweetens over time, with neroli appearing later and defining the fragrance. Michelyn explains how aromatherapists and herbalists have long recommended neroli for its anti-depression and anti-anxiety effects. I am in USA.

  • Sebastian’s always nails the fragrance and its note breakdown. Ive purchased alot fragrances based on his reviews and Kobe will be in attendance soon enough! The introduction was fantastic and well put together.

  • Neroli is my favorite scent in a fragrance and this seems to be the epitome of Neroli I would love to have this be a part of my everyday wear fragrance collection!!!

  • Liked Michelyn’s review of Xerjoff Kobe when she says “Throughout history, aromatherapists and herbalists have long known that the flowers of bitter orange tree, especially neroli and orange blossom alleviate insomnia, anxiety and depression. In effect, it is the “Xanax” of perfumery and Xerjoff Kobe is well-suited for these unsettling times.” Yes, even though spring is around the corner, the specter of Covid-19 is getting many people down, and a splash of neroli and orange blossom is what one needs right now. Glad also that Xerjoff Group support hospitals battling Covid-19.

Sebastian’s reviews are helpful as they bring perfumes to life, without actually having experienced them. Practical details, and down-to-earth reviews of his are very useful. In a few minutes, one gets a good idea of what to expect.

Thanks for the draw – writing from USA.

  • salosaunders says:

I love how Michelyn describes the smoky note as reminiscent of a bazaar, that’s incredibly evocative. I learned a LOT from Sebastian’s review, and I’m so happy to be a new subscriber to his youtube channel. For example, I had no idea the difference between neroli and orange blossom is the distillation process. Also, pettigrain is the green leaves of the orange tree? Wow. Thanks for all your knowledge in describing what seems like a fabulous scent. I live in TN, USA.

  • I enjoyed how Sebastian explained his personal connections to the smell of orange blossom and why it is so important to him. Michelyn discuss’s the other uses for Neroli other than just perfumery. Either way i’m very interested in trying it as it would be perfect for spring.

  • Sunny Chaudhary says:

Michelyn explanation on how aromatherapists and herbalists have long recommended neroli for its anti-depression and anti-anxiety effects made me think of this perfume in a totally different way. More of a soothing cyrup then perfume.

And as per Sebastian, Kobe opens with big orange juicy note and eventually sweetens over time, with neroli appearing later and defining the fragrance which is quite interesting for me and want me to try it.

    I am from Atlanta-GA

  • From Michelyn I really was impressed she interviews Sergio Momo and explain s what Neroli smells like as well as noting that xerjoff is giving back to charities for helping with corona virus
From Sebastian’s review it’s stellar and explaining even more calling xerjoff Kobe a Neroli bomb

  • Kuztomized says:

Great review as always, makes me want to try this scent. Also appreciated the description of the notes. Never knew what petitgrain actually is until now.

  • Jossue Corrales says:

I would love to have Kobe in my collection, and now after watching Sebastian’s video, I can’t wait to have one despite it is very expensive for 50 ml. I’m a fan of neroli and citrus fragrances. Excellent review!

  • I liked how Michelyn described neroli and orange blossom as the ‘Xanax’ of perfumery. Like how Sebastian describes the explosion of neroli as powdery, and the idea of the whole orange tree coming alive. Live in California.

  • Joseph Pledger says:

I love sebastian’s delivery as usual bit the neroli in this has me super interested. I love xerjoff and would have no other way to try this. Thanks for the entry 🙂

    Virginia USA

  • I like that Sebastian has more than one bottle of this!!!! And also his mention of orange blossom water. I use it on my face! Thanks for resurrecting the quote from Xerjoff, Michelyn. I’m in USA and don’t own a Xerjoff in my massive collection. There are things missing for sure. I love neroli.

  • Shamrock1313 says:

Michelyn’s into is perfect for a great house like Xerjoff. Sebastian’s review was on point (always are). Kobe is such a beautiful citrus fragrance. Big fan of Nio, Starlight, Uden and Richwood.
    Pennsylvania USA

  • I love Sebastian’s detailed description of how multifaceted and alive the orange fragrance is. I love it when a scent is so holistic! I will have to try cooking with Neroli! Sounds lovely! I had forgotten that Neroli is good for depression and anxiety! Exactly what we need in our lives right now! How wonderful that Xerjoff is donating their proceeds to help with the victims of Coronavirus! I love in New Hampshire USA. Thanks so much for this opportunity!

  • Sebastian says Xerjoff Kobe is a Neroli bomb! I’m a big fan of neroli fragrances. Would love to have this in my collection.

  • Natalia306 says:

Living in Italy for 5 years and visiting Sicily during spring-summer I really get to know how magical, strong, sharp, heavenly clean , fresh, aromatic, fragrant (citrus=agrumi) Italian neroli and orange blossom flowers are! Smell like Paradise to me!
Yes, it’s perfect for spring, Sebastian! Thank you for your perfect review! Thank you Michelyn Camen for your very nice introduction: Sergio Momo, bravo to your creative “House Xerjoff is all about Nature and Italian Craftsmanship!” Bless your Beautiful Italy in this difficult time, love this country with all my heart ❤️! And I more than agree with Mishelyn that” In effect it is the “Xanax” of perfumery and Xerjoff Kobe is well suited for these unsettling times”. Also “Kobe” Xerjoff lovely remining about my happy time in Beautiful Italy! It’s my favorite house, “Kobe”, I can only imagine how much I Would love because :”Throughout history, aromatherapists and herbalists have long known that the flowers of bitter orange tree, especially neroli and orange blossom alleviate insomnia, anxiety and depression”!!!
    Florida, USA

  • I love Sebastian’s comparison of the fragrance to the scent of the entire bitter orange tree, encompassing the branches, fruit, blossoms and leaves. Neroli makes me happy so I absolutely believe it’s an anxiety reducer. I always wanted to try a Xerjoff fragrance. I’m in MD USA.

  • Sebastian’s review really piqued my interest in this fragrance. He truly knows his stuff when it comes to describing fragrances. This fragrance sounds like a beautiful Neroli scent. Michelyn’s introduction was very informative and interesting as well. I appreciate the attention to detail in describing this fine Italian fragrance. I’ve never tried anything from this house before but I’d love to. Thanks for the great review and the great giveaway. Commenting from Kentucky USA.

  • twiggy3634 says:

I like that Sebastian shares more about cooking and unique ingredients in his home town. And I got a chuckle from Michelyn’s “xanax of perfumery” comment lol what a tagline! Cheers from the USA.
P.S. I love that Xerjoff is taking action to fight the coronavirus, bless them.

  • Yes, I agree, orange is a fantastic aromatherapy scent. Kobe sounds like it’s unisex and a nice neroli fragrance. Thanks for another fabulous draw! Mich USA

  • deftorexia says:

I love Sebastian’s reviews. I’ve been following him for quite some time, and he is one of the go to reviewers whenever I want to find out about fragrances. Xerjoff Kobe is a fragrance I’ve been looking into for a while, and I think he nailed it with his review of this awesome neroli fragrance. Seems so refreshing for this time of the year in Texas!

  • I never get tired of neroli and I appreciate learning about fine perfumes. I love the thought of neroli being the “Xanax” of perfumery!

  • Joshteriyaki1 says:

Sebastian always gives great reviews always very descriptive. The notes in this sound great would love to get this. “Throughout history, aromatherapists and herbalists have long known that neroli and orange blossom alleviate insomnia, anxiety and depression. In effect, it is the “Xanax” of perfumery and Xerjoff Kobe is well-suited for these unsettling times”. Really liked this part very fitting from Michelyn Camen.

  • I’m a big fan of Xerjoff fragrances for a long time and was so excited to see a giveaway on Sebastian’s channel for Kobe. I like that Sebastian focused his review on the feeling that the fragrance gives you while wearing it since it is so hard to describe just the ingredients and understand the scent profile. I like that Michelyn mentioned that Xerjoff will donate profits of its fragrances to benefit Italian hospitals.

    I live in the USA

  • Love neroli and Sebastian’s expression of how he likes it and passions for how it encompassed the essence of the tree and flower. “all about NATURE ! ” this is the essence pure smelling fragrances . Cant wait to try this.

  • Richard Biddle says:

Michelyn’s intro describing neroli and orange blossom to alleviate anxiety is quite interesting. I can visualize the concept coming to life, as citrus, sunshine, and relaxation can all be found during summertime. Also, she mentions “unsettling” times. The Coronavirus and the political divide these days make this statement quite fitting. As for Sebastian’s review, his description of the freshness of orange blossom and neroli combined with oud wood sounds heavenly. His comments on the trio of freshies from Xerjoff makes me anxious to try all three. Thank you!

  • loveflying says:

I enjoyed both Sebastian’s and Michelyn’s because of their description of this perfume containing all parts of the orange tree. It is also good to hear that the fragrances has staying power. New york city

  • Michelyn’s description of orange blossom used calm and relax “unsettling” times is quite interesting, especially given the current political divide and the coronavirus pandemic. Sebastian’s description of the neroli and orange blossom paired with oud wood makes this scent intriguing. Also, his description of the trio of summer scents from Xerjoff sound amazing. I’m from the Bay Area, CA – USA.

  • I always knew neroli had something to do with citrus but never looked in depth as to what it really was. The introduction laid it out nicely, how it is a mixture of all these different components of a bitter orange tree- the leaves, branches, flowers and fruit- blended together. I also like how Sebastian described it in his review- like an orange tree come alive and the neroli exploding!

  • Love the description of the notes of this fragrance. As always Sebastian’s passion is contagious.I can almost picture that scent with my brain. Such a delight on this otherwise sad day and no access to testing in our area….

  • Hashim Madani says:

Love the powdery element Sebastian mentioned and I also love the smokiness and oud notes described in Michelyn’s intro. Can it beat the all-too-familiar rose & oud combo? I believe, if anyone, Xerjoff can pull it off. VA, USA.

  • alialdujaili says:

This review explains a lot for me as some depth in this fresh perfume referred to the Oud note that I originally haven’t caught when I smelled Kobe but kept wondering what are those notes that gave depth to it. Xerjoff is one of my favorites houses I have tried Nio, Uden, and Lua from shooting star line and liked them all.

    Arizona, USA

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Enjoyed Michelin’s characterisation of Kobe as the Xanax of perfumery and Sebastian’s characterisation of it as an orange tree come alive. I would like to get my nose on this gem. I appreciate the opportunity for this giveaway. -Virginia, USA

  • I don’t own an neroli based fragrances that last longer than an hour. Sebastian says this one may do the job. It would very interesting to try

  • I thought it was interesting that Michelyn describes Kobe as a whole bitter orange tree mixed with smoke of oud. I liked how Sebastian linked Neroli to his heritage. Thanks for the chance to win this bottle. I would love to wear this fragrance.

  • I think its great that Xerjoff made a perfume that is floral and citrus based that has sillage and longevity. I didn’t now that neroli and orange blossom were used to alleviate insomnia, anxiety and depression. Thanks for the review and the giveaway! Texas, USA

  • Fernando Arroyo says:

Really nice review about a great house. I love the part where Sebastian compare Kobe to a whole orange tree, he got me there.

  • David Romel says:

Thanks to Michelyn for the description of what Neroli actually is. I knew it was centered around an orange scent, but didn’t know that it was specifically from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. Once again Sebastian does a terrific job of reviewing a fragrance! He always makes me want to run right out to purchase and to add another bottle to my collection! US – Ohio

  • I was raised in the country with fig trees on one side, pistachios on the other and orange trees across the street. I use to walk through the orange trees to get to school. The smells of an orange orchard is one of my fondest memories. When Sebastian mentioned that they use the whole tree in this fragrance I was captivated and immediately intrigued. My grandma use to pluck the leaves of the orange tree and rub it in her hand and have us smell it. I now do this with my kids. The fun fact Michelyn discusses about how the scent of orange can alleviate depression in my life has been very true. Nothing picks me up quicker then the scent of Neroli. Thank you for your consideration in the drawing.

  • Michelyn’s intro was so good unfortunately Sebastian’s review couldn’t match it… Sebastian really emphasized the neroli in this scent and I would love to smell its intensity

  • deportedfob says:

USA entry, I really enjoyed learning more about the petitgrain note in Sebastian’s video about Xerjoff Kobe and the psychological benefits noted in Michelyn’s intro is quite interesting, never knew about those things before

  • Nio is a stunning fragrance. Looking forward to trying KOBE! Neroli is the most magical of scents and if Sebastian says it’s a Neroli bomb, I’m in!

  • McKay Carlson says:

I’ve had the chance to sample Nio and Uden. They are both are amazing! Kobe sounds like another fantastic offering!

    Cheers!

  • Andrew Mattox says:

Xerjoff Kobe is the xanax of Perfumery haha that’s a great comparison. Sebastian’s review on Kobe is detailed and accurate. I highly value his opinions!!!

  • Holy moly neroli (sorry, couldn’t help myself)! As always, love Sebastian’s reviews, I love neroli, ob and petitgrain. I think a neroli scent with longevity and bright juiciness would be wonderful. I’m pleased to find out that xerjoff is contributing to hospitals in Italy, i have family in ivrea and are keeping up with them online. Thank you for the draw, I’m in the us.

  • As always, Sebastian gives us much information regarding the notes and how they go together to create the fragrance. I love neroli as a note, so this is going to be one that I must try. Thanks to both Sebastian and Michelyn for great reviews and thank you for a most generous draw. i’m in the USA.

  • I love how Sebastian and Michelyn paint the picture of this fragrance. I only have a tiny little sample of this and the neroli and orange blossom smell so realistic together. Would definitely like to own a bottle for myself!

  • Loved this from the introduction: In effect, it is the “Xanax” of perfumery and Xerjoff Kobe is well-suited for these unsettling times. I enjoyed how Sebastion described this as a neroli bomb. Would love to win this one, since the name of the fragance is the same as mine. Cheers from Oregon!

  • Wilson Siavichay says:

Xerjoff is one of my favorite niche houses, I don’t have the opportunity to buy a full bottle, just samples some of them, and Kobe is one of my favorite citrus fresh perfume, is awesome, so citrus, refreshing, floral and Mediterranean, I wish to get a full bottle one day.

  • simmonesong says:

I was very intrigued by Sebastian’s review because he goes into such thorough descriptions of the individual scents that compose the fragrance. It was poetic and beautiful the way he described the orange tree “coming alive,” with the tree leaves (pettigrain) and the orange blossoms being represented, and with the additional woody notes of the rosewood adding support. And of course he does a great job of pointing out that neroli is the shining star of this perfume, and gives a bit of cultural information on that scent.

With Michelle’s introduction I enjoyed learning that neroli is the “Xanax of perfumery”—that was something new I learned today.

I had the privilege to try a sample of Kobe and I can honestly say it’s beautiful. So well blended and rich, giving me dreams of sunny, warm and fruitful gardens.

  • I really enjoyed how Sebastian explained his love of Neroli and orange blossom as well as that this fragrance is as he put it the “orange tree come alive”! Also the fact that it has great longevity is a huge bonus. In Michelyn’s intro I liked how she explained the Oud in the fragrance because in the past when I’d looked up the notes it threw me off a bit. Also I suffer from anxiety and insomnia and normally diffuse lavender to try to help but with what Michelyn said about Neroli or Orange Blossom was great to hear I’ll need to try that! But is love to just be able to spray on Kobe! In CT USA. Thanks so much for the generous draw!

  • I had no idea that neroli and orange blossom alleviate insomnia, anxiety and depression until I read Michelyn’s intro. As usual, Sebastian does a great job of educating us on how the individual notes are created and where they come from. He is such a good teacher when it comes to the science and art behind the fragrances. This one sounds very interesting to me. I live in IL, USA.

  • Osama Mohamed says:

I love about this perfume that it’s all about the orange tree, the fruit , the leaves and the nerolis. Shout out to Seb ….

  • I’m in the US. I would’ve been grabbed just by the Xanax of perfumes line. With how tumultuous things are at the moment, I feel like my perfumes are such a wonderful respite. Always curious to match my experience to Sebastian’s.

  • I am such a big fan of the Shooting Stars collection. I have never tried Kobe before but i am sure it’s amazing. Very nice review, it makes me so interested in trying it and i also liked Michelin’s intro. I appreciate a lot the fact that all revenues from the sales of Xerjoff Universe will be donated to the “Specchio dei tempi” foundation. Thank you for the draw!

  • Amanda32828 says:

I have always being a fan of Neroli and citrus notes. I don’t know what is it exactly but I’m totally drawn to them. They always make me feel rejuvenated and energetic.
I totally appreciate and value the commitment of the Xerjoff Group to supports hospitals battling to contain the coronavirus in Italy; that’s just priceless to me since I have several friends living there and the news are really alarming and worrisome to all. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway. I’m commenting from Orlando, Fl.

  • Sebastian does it again – breaking down the fragrance notes in very easy to relate fashion. This does sound amazing and just the fact of it being in the same grain as Uden has me yearning to try it out. Michelin’s introduction also gives great info on the fragrance and Sergio Momo’s vision and inspiration. Thank you for the review, the introduction and the giveaway. I’m in USA

  • TE Withrow says:

I liked best to know that Neroli and orange blossem alleviates insomnia…and is the “Xanax” of Perfumery. That’s very interesting!
Sebastian is always so knowledge explaining fragrances!
    I am from Illinois, US.

  • From this post you will understand I’m not familiar with Xerjoff fragrances. I am subscribed to Sebastian channel so when I saw the name of the video my first thought… they named a fragrance after Kobe Bryant. Yes, I did. I don’t own many niche fragrances because of the price but I do own Jo Malone Orange Bitters and Orange Blossom and I love both. I love watching Sebastian because I always learn something. I did not know that petitigran was the green leaves of the orange tree. I am excited to try Kobe I find it interesting that they use the fruit, flower & leaves of the tree.

  • I would like this neroli bomb supported by the likes of oud. If wearing this can alleviate insomnia all the better. US

  • Sebastian has been my favorite fragrance reviewer, the way he describe the each notes makes me feel that Kobe fits my personality and the weather in Orlando.

  • Cristina Arcellana says:

I’ve been watching Sebastian’s reviews and trying out some of the fragrances and am always happy with them, thanks…Sebastian. I’d like to try this one too!

  • I freaking love neroli! I loved Michelyn’s educational touch to this review. Well done! I’d really like to try this beauty. USA

  • Harrisongs says:

Michelyn’s intro is really interesting casue the interview as well as the neroly role discovered by aromatherapists and herbalists. Sebastian’s video is awsome, I’m really interested right now about Neroli fragrances ad specially the mixed of ingredents of this scent.

  • Michael Werno says:

I loved Sebastian’s description of his personal connection to neroli. Also I found Michelyn’s take on neroli and orange blossom as the “Xanax” of perfumery quite interesting.

  • Cameron Poynor (Camcam JuicyPop) says:

I’ve been watching Sebastian for so so long and I literally trust him, as everyone should, when it comes to what scent to buy. I’ll have to save a for a bit to try some quality Neroli, but if Sebastian says I should then Neroli I’m coming! Plus the fact it’s like “Xanax” as a perfume then I must get some, because I have some insane anxiety, and to know that a scent could calm me. Wow. Thanks and Love you Sebastian!

  • I’ve seen a few reviews on this and they all seem to mention how it starts super juicy, which I love. I looked on Fragrantica to refresh myself on this and saw the comparison to NPA, which is a perfect summer for the approaching seasons, and I’m sure Xerjoff’s take on neroli is incredible! I love likening neroli to the “xanax” of perfumery due to neroli and orange blossom’s healing effects! I’m in PA in the USA

  • Sebastian says you have to love Neroli to love this in your face Neroli fragrance! I Neroli and this is supposed to be a Neroli bomb, Neroli, powdery, woody, I would love to try this fragrance that is so highly recommended for Neroli lovers by Sebastian! I love Michelyn’s intro learning the vision of this brand ans and their zeal for Italian craftsmanship, this is a great line! I live in the USA

  • anchordaddy says:

Sebastian describe the orange blossom and neroli very well.
Thanks as always for such detail review.

  • i ♥️ neroli & the description that xerjoff kobe is the entire tree sounds fantastic! it’s on my list period. sebastian’s review was enjoyable & on point per usual. & as a fan of citrus fragrances, i also watched his older vid on xerjoff. many thx!

  • I find Xerjoff to be one the top 5 brands of high end perfumery. One of my the first niche purchases was Lira early 2012… early March I think.
Doesn’t matter is you like safe , daring or sweet, Xerjoff portfolio is big , and you’re covered .
Kobe attracts me bitter , powdery, fruity facets and the right amount of woods .
As I said Lira was my first Xerjoff purchase, and I still love it, but it’s not my favorite one, not anymore, Cruz del Sur II is , followed by Golden Dallah and then comes Lira.
Michelyn shared really nice information about neroli and orange blossoms.
    Wonderful giveaway.

  • IvanVelikov says:

The history, and the story behind Kobe was captivating.
Xerjoff sure are both high end, and at the same time up to date brand. I find it important to be well in touch with the modern day era , virtual reality presentations is not something you can see every day. I do remember Sebastian said it in one of his videos on YouTube.
You don’t need aggressive fragrances all the time.
For close encounters, or a walk in the park with my 4yo niece , or at work with customers Kobe would work on all occasions. Multifaceted fragrance I’d love to win.
For clubbing I have Lira , my favorite Xerjoff .
    “Xanax” comparison was funny 🙂
    Fantastic draw. In USA

  • Napoleon1805 says:

What I liked a bout Sebastian’s review is that he didn’t fucking compare neroli to Xanax. What I found interesting about Michelyn’s introduction is nothing. The requirements of these giveaways are fucking asinine, just like Michelyn’s intro.

  • Interested in the giveaway! I live in Seattle, Washington USA. I love citrus, mandarin orange, neroli, and orange flower fragrances. What I enjoyed most about Sebastains’ video was his story and personal connection to neroli fragrances and his nostalgia when smelling/wearing Xerjoff Kobe. What I find most interesting about Michelyn’s introduction are the therapeutic uses of the aroma of orange flower/neroli and certainly, living in Seattle in a COVID hotspot it would be helpful to enjoy those calming, Xanax-like effects right now. 😉 Thank you for the article, and video ÇaFleureBon and Sebastian! Jackie

  • Great review, Sebastian as always!!
I liked Michelyn’s description of neroli ingredient.
I find Kobe has little bit similarity with Neroli Portofino. I like Kobe very much. USA

Love Neroli. Sebastian mentioned how Neroli is so powerful that it extends to the base and mixes well with oud. Xerjoff Naxos has been one of my favorite and this one could be my Xerjoff Spring/Summer fragrance.

Love Neroli. Sebastian mentioned how Neroli is so powerful that it extends to the base and mixes well with oud. Xerjoff Naxos has been one of my favorite and this one could be my Xerjoff Spring/Summer fragrance.

  • It’s cool to see Sebastian break down the notes and how some of them relate/originate from the different parts of an orange tree. The introduction makes this fragrance seem very uplifting by saying it’s perfect for “these unsettling times”. The contrast definitely makes it sound pleasant. I live in Minnesota in the U.S.

  • I have never tried any Xerjoff fragrances. So impressed that this is a brand with a cause. Thank you for your support to Specchio dei tempi. Now back to the fragrance, I love citrus with some bitterness and then the woody/oud dry down. Longevity is phenomenal. Michelle nails its description as xanax of perfumery. We all need uplifting fragrances in times like this. IL, USA

  • I enjoyed how Sebastian explained the orange blossom breakdown, with the distillation process and the leaves of petitgrain all added into Kobe. I have only had the chance to sample Nio which is also a beautiful citrus. I also found Michelyn’s introduction to be interesting regarding the neroli a d orange blossom to be the Xanax of perfumery. US.

  • JungleJuice says:

Being raised in Beirut Lebanon where Sebastian also was, I can relate to his love of neroli and orange blossom.
The Orange blossom and Neroli concoction is always a winner for me when choosing a spring/summer fragrance. Absolutely love it and would love to try KOBE.

Sounds like an amazing fragrance. When Sebastian said the fragrance was like the orange tree come alive, I was locked in for the rest of the review.

Xerjoff is a brand that I have been interested in for quite a while. This is one of the brands that has so many I would like to try, but unfortunately, have not had the chance to. That will change in the future, because so many amazing fragrances (so I hear) come from this house. 1888, Damarose, Lira, More Than Words, Naxos, Nio, Kobe, Don….. shall I go on?!?! These are all on my list to try and that will definitely be happening in the near future. Sebastian, as always, has such great taste, and it is no shock that he already owns a 100mL bottle of this. I have heard nothing but great reviews on Kobe and have wanted to try it for, what seems like, ages! I love the fact that it is an orange blossom/neroli bomb. I love a good citrus fragrance, but I really enjoy when they are done with a twist… something not on the same level as most citruses! Kobe, like the yet-to-be-released “The Orange Tree” by Sarah McCartney which I have had the privilege of sampling, sounds like it would be right up my alley! I LOVE “The Orange Tree” and will be purchasing a full bottle when it is officially released. Kobe sounds divine and one I really need to look in to. Thank you Sebastian, for yet another wonderful review! I love your reviews and enjoy hearing your take on fragrances, especially ones that I am really interested in! Since you have had this since 2014, you have had quite some time with Kobe, and hearing that you really enjoy it makes me want to try it even more! That was a nice tidbit of info about Neroli, Michelyn… thanks for the short medicinal history… the “Xanax” of perfumery is definitely what the world needs right now! Very fitting! Thank you EuroPerfumes, as always for your generosity and for this amazing opportunity! It is appreciated more than you know! Thanks again Sebastian, for your review, and for your excellent taste in scent! Thank you Michelyn, for everything you do and for bringing us this awesome draw! Sending comments from Delaware, US. Good luck to all…. this one is a treat!

  • Very interesting note from Sebastian! I didn’t expect Neroli to be a bomb really, as must of the time it seems to be used in a softer fragrance. Out of curiosity, I went to Saks and gave it a try and—wow! It’s just as he described, totally in your face. Very uplifting scent as Michelyn explained its positive effect on the perfume wearer! I’m in the USA, please put me on the giveaway list, thanks! (:

  • Michelyn had me with Italian craftsmanship and Simon had me at Neroli bomb!! I love Naxos and Lira but would love to have a spring/summer option from this awesome house.

  • Somehow I thought Xerjoff to be other than Italian, perhaps Middle Eastern, but it makes sense to me now that it’s all about nature and Italian craftsmanship.

Bergamot, petitgrain, and neroi are heavenly together. As a child I loved to put twigs, leaves, and blossoms from backyard citrus trees – tangerine, orange, lemon. and lime – in a jar to make my own citrus “perfume.”

Rosewood is a wonderful base for citrus. Years ago I wore a Dior scent, perhaps Eau Fraiche, that had rosewood. I loved it. Thank you, Sebastian, for recommending Kobe for Spring. It sounds perfect. And thanks to CaFleureBon and Xerjoff for the generous draw. I am in the US.

  • Italian craftsmanship as per Michelyn’s her intro is why I think we are all so drawn to Xerjoff perfumes. Sebastian’s description of Kobe as being a balance of juicy orange and bitter petitgrain makes this a must try as well! Regards from the USA.

I am not sure I can smell the difference between neroli and orange blossom but it is one of my favorite flower smells. Sounds like beautiful combo with woods/oud! Could use some Xanax effect haha. I live in CT.

  • I loved Michelyn’s description of netoli aspects. I love Sebastian’s video very much…and find statement of “Xanax” of perfumery very interesting. I love Xerjoff, especially Zefiro and Mefisto.

  • Does this scent have a synergistic effect with actual Xanax? Asking for a friend. Ah neroli, it’s love or not love; waiting for the true love. This sounds lovely. I live in NYC.

  • Amirul Azley says:

Neroli smells heavenly and the way Sebastian broke the note from Kobe down made me gushed. Can’t wait to get a chance to own Kobe.

  • Sebastian says, ” the orange tree comes alive” I love his enthusiasm and love for this fragrance. I also liked Michelyn’s words on the aspect of neroli to alleviate insomnia, anxiety and depression. This sounds amazing. USA

  • Thiago Vidotto says:

Orange trees bloom every summer in Brazil, where I was born. I miss smelling this scent in the air so much that I am obsessed with orange and neroli fragrances. It helps quite a lot when I am missing home. I would love it if I could try Kobe.

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always appreciated for his detailed breakdown of a fragrance’s profile. Here with his review of Kobe, he doesn’t disappoint and I’ve become more intrigued by this fragrance. I love neroli, with Arabian Oud Ultimate and JPG Fleur du Male being some of my favorites featuring this note. The benefits of aromatherapy have long been known, as Michelyn so saliently points out, with not only neroli and orange blossom having a calming, therapeutic effect, but many other botanical essences, such as lavender. Overall, I think perfumes have the propensity to allow us to draw on inner strength, to find that calmness needed during turbulent times. Thanks so much for review Sebastian and Michelyn! I’m in Oregon, US.

I love his accent and the colorful way he remembers the smell of orange blossoms from his youth. I could almost picture being there. Michelin’s introduction was surprising because of the information provided about neroli as an anti-depressant. I never knew that, but it makes sense. It gives me such joy!

  • When I think about Xerjoff pictures of Mefisto always comes to mind. Being a barber my love for aromatic and citrusy fragrances comes naturally. Lavender is prominent, but don’t push it into mature territory. Super classy, yet not overly aggressive fragrance, exactly what I expect from More than Kobe , yet for a different time period. Mefisto is more dressed up day time occasions scent, but Kobe feels a bit more casual.
Oh’ I also want to try the new Mefisto version called Gentiluomo, and the two coffee ones. Such a nice draw, I’m so pumped. Thank you

I love neroli, Xerjoff, and Sebastian’s videos. I haven’t had the chance to try this one but Sebastian makes me think I must (although all of his reviews get me excited about the fragrance he’s reviewing)! It’s so wonderful that Xerjoff is giving back to the community. Thank you for the draw. I’m in the US

Wow Xerjoff giveaway. I have such respect for the brand.
I’m really vain, and wearing Xerjoff is a special experience . I feel untouchable like Eliot Ness .
The two in my possession are Lira and Opera . Love them equally.
Kobe I have not smelled, but I can relate to because of how fresh and zingy it is.
I’m so excited for this giveaway. USA

    ……
Props to Xerjoff for giving back to the community in Italy , in such…. bad times.

  • Sebastian gave a good idea of what to expect, and Michelyn’s description made me want to try this. You are both so good with words. US

  • Haven’t smelled this yet but heard good about it. I like that it opens up with a juicy orange citrus. Thanks for the draw, Ca

  • I like the comparison Mickelyn made “Xanax of perfumery”. I’ve always enjoyed neroli and orange blossom and find them to be very calming.

I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews! Before today, I didn’t know what pettigrain was, and to have him explain how much orange is is this fragrance was enlightening. It would be interesting to be able to sample this to get a sense of how orange-y this fragrance really is.

Thanks for the review! I am a subscriber in the USA.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. I love neroli and that this fragrance has neroli that lasts and blends with the dry down. Thanks for the review and the draw, I’m in the US.

  • Bryant Worley says:

What I enjoyed about Sebastian’s review was the informative nature of it, a li ong with his enthusiasm. And as a person who just suffered through 2 nights of insomnia, I appreciated Michelyn’s pointing out that “throughout history, aromatherapists and herbalists have long known that neroli and orange blossom alleviate insomnia, anxiety and depression. In effect, it is the “Xanax” of perfumery and Xerjoff Kobe is well-suited for these unsettling times.”

  • Sebastian is just a awesome reviewer as he describes this shooting star Neroli fragrance as a powdery Neroli bomb with oud and woods in the base. I love Michelyn’s introducing the history of Xerjoff. Thanks for such a great draw. I live in USA.

  • Michael Prince says:

Sebastian, I loved your review on Xerjoff Kobe. Like Sebastian, I am a huge fan of the Orange Blossom and Neroli combination. I also love that combination along with the bitterness Petitgrain to balance out the sweetness. I wasn’t aware how Orange Blossom was a natural treatment for stress and anxiety. Aromatherapy works and this is just evidence of that. I would love to win this fragrance. I am from the USA.

  • Cristina Arcellana says:

Sounds like this is a lovely fragrance to wear,Sebastian can really describe how it smells, he makes you want to want it and I do!thanks..

  • patrick_348 says:

I liked Michelyn’s information about how neroli has been used for therapeutic purposes, and I liked Sebastian’s description of how Kobe starts out bitter and gradually becomes sweeter, something which sounds appealing to me. I am in the US in NC.

From Michelyn’s Introduction: I was surprised when Michelyn mentioned that the Xerjoff Group is donating their revenues for a great cause.

From Sebastian’s Review: Its great to hear that this scent is long lasting, especially since Neroli and Orange Blossom are the main players hear. It got me really excited for this giveaway.

  • Oh my gosh, that is so incredibly generous of the Xerjoff Group, offering revenues from the sales of “Xerjoff universe” will be donated to the “Specchio dei tempi” foundation. This is such a frightening time.
As for the fragrance, it sounds so beautiful. I love neroli scents. I find it very uplifting and soothing. My only Xerjoff fragrance in my collection right now is Golden Dallah.
    I live in the US.

  • Sebastian’s review was excellent and I enjoyed his description of the notes! I am a huge fan of neroli and I love that this fragrance includes all parts of the tree (fruit, flower, and leaves). I also love that you get the burst of orange in the beginning and that it gets sweeter over time. I did not know that neroli is used for insomnia and anxiety. Thanks for the generous giveaway and I live in the US!

  • Cooking with orange water? Now you’re on my turf . I’m not surprised Sebastian mentioned it, because traditionally a lot of Syrian and Lebanese traditional desserts contain orange water, butter cookies, sherbet, quite often is paired with dates. He said he’s originally from the region.
Kobe description reminded me of me eating Whole Orange Cake using entire orange, peel, and the leaves too .
The best Xerjoff is Italica, whiteout any doubts! Exclusive to Harvey Nichols , and they do not want to ship it to US . On top of all it’s not even available at xerjoffuniverse , which was a shock to me.
Smells very, and I mean very similar to a traditional Toffee Almond Cake with spelt flour, unsweetened cocoa powder , almonds , buttermilk , strong brewed coffee, dark rum , bittersweet chocolate , salt. It’s a traditional Italian cake. I’m pretty sure the cake was the inspiration behind Italica. One of the best realistically smelling gourmands , and top 3 gourmands in my collection, and I have over 80.
It’s really hard for me to get it , because I had to find someone to get it for me in UK , and bring it to the States.
    Sensation fragrance.
Appreciate Sebastian review, Michelyn aromatherapy intro , and the giveaway campaign.

Sebastian mentioned the bitterness and powdery facets of the fragrance; Michelyn the smokiness of the Oud. Wow! Now I’m intrigued. Never have I try a smoky powdery neroli fragrance, sounds essential for spring. Need to know!

  • “The intent of Xerjoff was to use the best of what the world and nature has provided us and combines this with what man can achieve”… I’m a big fan of Citrus fragrances. Sebastian explains in his review that the fragrance uses the whole orange tree including the leaves. Sweet and bitter combined in a nice way. I’ll love to smell this one.

  • Almost all Xerjoff fragrances are multifaceted , and Kobe is no exception. Fresh and bitter, going to woody and smoky base , undoubtedly a stunner . I have to check it out.
Relaxing properties , and benefits of Neroli I was not aware of.
Proud of owning Naxos 1861. Generous giveaway, thank you. USA

  • “Xerjoff Group supports hospitals committed to contain the coronavirus. The revenues from the sales of “Xerjoff universe” will be donated to the “Specchio dei tempi” foundation”

    Admirable gesture , Applauds !

Enjoyable review as usual. I just love Sebastian passion for high quality fragrances . Kobe Words is gorgeous indeed. Zesty fresh and green to the max.
Xerjoff i find to be one of the best niche brands ever created. Of course I can’t say i love all they got , but undoubtedly blended well colognes, variety is pretty big, so every fragrance lover should be able to find pleasing to his taste fragrance. At this moment I own 6 Xerjoff bottles .
My favorite Xerjoff is Mamluk .
“a thread of smokiness from the oud that hints of Middle Eastern Bazaars woven throughout”
I personally do not perceive even slightest traces of smokiness in Kobe.
Last time I’ve smelled it was a few years back, with older presentation.
To all Cafleurebon crew and readers , stay safe and healthy.

  • Reminds me of the days when I had a bitter orange tree in the yard. When in full bloom I would gather a bunch of the flowers one simmer them on the stove permeating my apartment with the lovely smell.

I found both Sebastian’s and Michelyn’s insight to be very interesting and informative. I personally refer to fragrances as aromatherapy and in Michelyn’s introduction it mentions how neroli and orange blossom have been long known for possessing such qualities.

  • Sergio is a great influencer and I do take his advice and knowledge to heart..Xerjoff is a quality fragrance I own one bottle and I’m enjoying very much looking forward to purchasing more in the line..
