Roja Parfums Parfums de la Nuit #3 Review (Roja Dove)+ Elizabeth Taylor’s Birthday Draw

Roja Parfums Parfum de la nuit review

The Parfums De La Nuit Collection explores the way in which our true primal urges rarely surface during the day, yet can emerge from the shadows as the sun goes down.–Roja Dove

Last year I met with Roja Dove and fell in love with Parfums De La Nuit #3, which like Sebastian, ranks at the top of “my must have Roja Parfums.”

Tom Crutchfield, the Business Manager of Roja Parfums at Bergdorf Goodman in N.Y. told me that amber (labdanum) is a key ingredient in each of the  fragrances in the Parfums de La Nuit Collection and  that Roja Dove had envisioned the amber color of the sky just as the sunsets as the aura around each perfume.  Parfums de La Nuit #3 represents “exoticism” (Sr. Editor Ida Meister called  #1 “louche and lavish” in her review last year; Roja Dove writes that #1 represents our “inner predator”).

Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift in A Place in the Sun

Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift in A Place in the Sun, 1951

February 27, 2020 is Elizabeth Taylor’s birthday and the day this video review of Roja Parfums Parfums de la Nuit #3 Review airs. I am a huge fan of hers as is Tom and we both agreed that this unisex fragrance is perfectly suited  as a tribute to her exotic beauty- from her teen years to grown woman.

Elizabeth Taylor's perfumes

So together we chose a Liz Taylor film which best represented Parfums de la Nuit #3’s sensual allure, “A Place in the Sun”.  Co-starring Montgomery Clift it is an Academy award winning movie and the dramatic story of a tragic love triangle; ithese two Old Hollywood movie stars that were among the sexiest in the 50s’. The movie also is a foreshadowing of Elizabeth Taylor’s future (she “stole” Eddie Fischer, Debbie Reynolds husband and was married to him in 1959). You can read my 2016 tribute to Elizabeth Taylor here.  – Michelyn Camen, Editor-in-Chief

Sebastian loves #3 so much it would have made his recent Top Ten Roja parfums video

Ida’s storytelling is so enjoyable and puts you right there in the past.
Sebastian’s reviews are always in depth and really explain the nuances of a fragrance.

  • Thanks, Ms Michelyn, for reminding me how much I miss watching the fabulous Elizabeth Taylor’s movies. The notes Sebastian mentioned sound sexy. I’m interested in how the cistus note plays with the rose. Thanks for another fabulous draw! Mich USA

  • Love how Sebastian has broken down the notes.Glad it’s not a Rose based fragrance and the rest of the notes are so intriguing especially the cumin with labdanum. Looking forward to smell it and fingers crossed for the draw. Reader from Los Angeles, CA, USA

  • Sebastian’s review really piqued my interest in this fragrance. He truly knows his stuff when it comes to describing fragrances. The more he talked about it the more it sounded like a beautiful scent. I would love to give it a try. Michelyn’s introduction was very informative and interesting. It made think of walking through a rose garden at night. Very alluring to be sure. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor film is Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Thanks for the great review and the great giveaway. Commenting from Kentucky USA.

  • MemoryHunter says:

Washington State USA- when he mentioned that it was the best use of cumin he’d ever smelled, I knew I had to try to win! Elizabeth Taylor was a spitfire and I’ve loved every movie she was in.

  • If it makes it to Sebastian’s top 10 I definitely want to try! I do like the idea of rose leather and cumin. So curious. USA

  • Denise Dobbins says:

Where do I begin? Sebastian was so excited to bring this review to us, his many, many subscribers and I too, am excited to possibly win a bottle of a magnificent fragrance by Roja Dove. The notes sound exquisite and I’m sure it smells divine.
Thank you Sebastian and greetings from Georgia USA

  • Ms. Meister does a wonderful job of taking us back to a more simple life where love and innocence was so much more meaningful than today. Sebastian’s description of Roja’s de la Nuit #3 highlights leather, cumin, and envelopes a sexy, erotic scent reminiscent of the days of old.

  • Sunny Chaudhary says:

Essentially this is a beautiful, tart rose fragrance. It sits atop leather of the styrax variety. Lots of other stuff going on, but can be distilled down to rose and styrax essentially. Also, its stunning. I tried a 2ml decant and fell in love with so a 50ml would be wonderful

As usual the description of notes by Sebastian is perfect and Michelyn introduction was informative and intresting as I was feeling like am in a rose garden on a full moon night!

    Thanks for your giveaway.
    I am from Georgia USA

  • Love Sebastian’s reviews, sex in a bottle definitely sounded intriguing. The labdanum and benzoin are notes I definitely enjoy. Would love to win a bottle of this! I live in California USA.

  • Wow Sebastian really loves Parfum decks nuit 3 and thinks it’s so sexy. I really enjoyed how Elizabeth Taylor was chosen and put in the intro
    Favorite movie Cleopatra

  • Christopher Carr says:

Hello sebastian sir, hope you are well as well as everyone in the comment section. Great review. This is one of my favs from roja, literally poor me could only afford dua inspired version exotic 3. But hope I can win a bottle. I would like to be added to win. Thanks and have a good rest of your day.

  • Thank you Sebastian for the Great review and also Roja Perfumes for Reintroducing the Cumin not as showing off how sexy it can be when do right! I think Liz Taylor and The Great Montgomery Cliff would love to wear this fragrance in a Passionate love scene…I’D WATCH

  • I love Roja fragrances …..I havent tried La Nuit 3 and would love to win this giveaway….Thanks for the generous giveaway! TN, USA

  • Robert D Duncan says:

I just discovered Roja Dove and love the ones I have smelled be great to give it for my son for his birthday.

  • Liked the comparison to the movie in the intro, and Sebastian’s description of the various notes (as well as his assurance that the cumin doesn’t smell like BO). I do not have a favorite Taylor movie.

  • Michelyn’s introduction is spot on! I LOVE a Place in the Sun. Also my FAVORITE Liz Taylor movie! A Place in the Sun is a crowning achievement for director George Stevens. Under his guidance actor Clift and actresses Shelley Winters and Elizabeth Taylor have come through , in my opinion, with the most compelling performances of their careers. Also really I respect Sebastian reviews. Especially his review of this fragrance, his excitement and knowledge of this fragrance are mesmerizing! Thanks for the opportunity to win this giveaway! From Illinois-USA

  • I have a couple of Roja Parfums in my collection, but unfortunately not any from the de La Nuit Collection. I found it interesting from the introduction that Amber (labdanum) is a key ingredient in the series, as I love the smell of Amber in a fragrance. Sebastian always has great videos and reviews and I look forward to watching them! Commenting from Ohio, USA.

  • Rutger Faber says:

Love how Sebastian’s review and explanation about the sexiness of the Roja De La Nuit 3 fragrance. It reminds me of a famous quote from Elizabeth Taylor:

    Pour yourself a drink,
    Put on some lipstick,
    and pull yourself together.

I love Roja Dove and his fabulous parfums. I would be stunned if I win this sexy bottle of De La Nuit 3.

  • Paul Burgess says:

I’ve never watched a full length film of Elizabeth Taylor. With that said, I have many memories with her though. She was my late mother’s favorite actor. As a kid, my mother used to make us watch black and white movies with her too often then not lol. She would say, “pay attention, this is what true class looks like!” I never understood what she meant as a child but as I got older, I longed for a woman with as much elegance as Ms. Taylor from “A Place In The Sun.”
Sebastian is my go-to reviewer for new, unique and classic fragrances. His taste and view point are par none. The way he describes fragrances are spot on I trust every review he posts because I know they are honest, from the heart and genuine.
I recently have gotten into the house of Roja Parfums and have become an immense fan. The quality and vision of these creations are heavenly. I love everything about them. I would love to be chosen so I can smell just as glorious as Ms. Taylor looked and felt in her films! Thank you 🙂

  • Gabriel Garcia Leyva says:

    Great review spotlight Sébastien.
And also tip my hat to the cinema classics, labdanum and rose are one of my favorite scenes, such mastery from Roja dove.

  • What a great article. Whenever someone asks a questions about Elizabeth Taylor movie, the answer is always “Cleopatra”! This release looks amazing and I hope to get my nose on it. I don’t think I have ever seen Sebastian so excited. High praise.

  • Haven’t seen any Liz Taylor’s movies. Nice of you to make this giveaway on her birthday. Sebastian is always detailed with his reviews. For him to say this is a phenomenal release is huge! I would love to get my hands on this luxurious fragrance. Can’t afford to buy one with this hefty price tag. Love anything rose plus the soft, sexy and smooth leather in the drydown. Rose complements the leather. If it is an absolute gem for Sebastian, then it is a must to try. IL, USA

  • Once again! Another great review by Sebastian. A educational tour de force on a stunning fragrance.
Michelyn’s introduction is a great way to link the past with the present, reminding us of a moment in time when beauty and elegance rule the day. Elizabeth Taylor movie performances moves you every time you watch one of her films, Cleopatra is one f my favorite movies by the great actress and its no surprise, a fragrance would evoke the passion and raw emotion as Elizabeth taylor did.

  • Fellow Pisces from Illinois. Loved Michelyn’s use of the old film poster, the typeface, the color scheme. And I always enjoy Sebastian’s enthusiasm for cumin notes!

  • Thank you Michelyn for brilliantly comparing a beautiful actress to a fragrance, I can’t say I’ve ever seen that. Although I have yet to try la Nuit 3, the fact that it is mentioned in the same sentence as Taylor piques my interest. As far as Sebastian’s review he does a wonderful job, as always, bringing this fragrance to life. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is Cleopatra, who else could’ve played that part?

  • I loved from the intro the description of “the amber color of the sky just as the sunsets as the aura around each perfume.” Understanding the art behind developing fragrance lines is always interesting.

Sebastian always does a great job of providing detailed breakdowns of notes and helps educate his audience about the differences between ingredients. His passion is easy to notice and makes me want to experience fragrances he loves.

I have not seen many Elizabeth Taylor films to be honest, but I have to go with Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Movies that cause a stir tend to get my interest! IL, USA

  • Sebastian always brings such enthusiasm to his reviews. I’m impressed he considers de la Nuit#3 in his top picks. I love rose fragrances and the addition of labdanum and styrax bolsters the complexity. I love Michelyn’s discussion of A Place in the Sun and makes me want to rewatch the movie. I’m in MD, USA.

  • I love the reference of this fragrance being fitting with “ A Place In The Sun” and the plot of a love triangle. Those words truly give a feel of where the fragrance goes. From Sebastian’s video I love how like always he breaks down the fragrance notes, but most of all I love how he said if he had this when he did his top 10 Roja Dove fragrances this would be at the top of his list.

  • From Michelyn’s intro, Parfums de la Nuit #3 is described as “exoticism” -perhaps carrying the wearer away to somewhere exotic – take me away. In Sebastian’s review, most appealing is how the rose complements the soft leather note. Favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is also one of my favorite childhood movies – Courage of Lassie.

  • Fragrancenewbie says:

I loved Micheyln’s the tribute article. I do have to make a few corrections. Elizabeth Taylor was 69 not 79 years when she died. She would have been 88 not 84 years old today.

My favorite Elizabeth Taylor film was Giant with Rock Hudson.

Sebastian’s reviews are always captivating. I can almost smell the fragrance based on his description.

  • Fragrancenewbie says:

I loved the tribute article. I recognize the article was written 4 years ago. I would suggest it be updated to correct that Elizabeth Taylor was 69 not 79 years when she died. She would have been 88 not 84 years old today.

My favorite Elizabeth Taylor film was Giant with Rock Hudson.

Sebastian’s reviews are always captivating. I can almost smell the fragrance based on his description.

  • OscarCastellanos says:

One word.. Sexy. Back when seduction was done with a look and a smile. That is all a beautiful woman truly needs.

Sebastians review was very descriptive and telling on how Roja engineers his fragrances to be complex yet smooth and long lasting just like true classics in all genres.

  • Ms Meister does a great job of taking everybody to a more simple life where love and innocence was so much purposeful than today. Sebastian’s description of Roja’s de la Nuit #3 highlights leather, cumin, and envelopes a sexy. Sex in a bottle?

  • Justin Pohleven says:

Boy would I LOVE to win a bottle of this scent! Very intrigued by Sebastians review and would love to try it.

  • I enjoyed – and am intrigued – by the comparison between this fragrance to Elizabeth’s “…exotic beauty”. And am very curious to see how the cumin plays a part with the rose.

  • The story simply increase the desire to smell the fragrance and the passion of Sebastian makes me want to feel and experience what he tells.

  • I’ve only tried Enigma from this house but would love to try more. I tend to like smooth, opulent fragrances which Sebastian mentions about this one. Elizabeth Taylor movies are not my thing.

  • Wow I just watched Sebastian’s video and I haven’t seen him this excited talking about a fragrance in a while. He seems to genuinely love this one. Sounds fantastic! Cumin has always thrown me off but Sebastian says this Cumin is the best he’s ever tried. I’m also intrigued by the plethora of base notes. Crossing my fingers for some Cafleurebon luck!! Thank you for this amazing opportunity to win such a unique and expensive fragrance.

  • dextercharles85 says:

Can’t say I’ve watched many Elizabeth Taylor movies but my mom was a huge fan. I recognize who she is and as Michelyn mentioned based off her “exotic beauty.” Loz Taylor was one of those superstars that looking into her eyes makes you feel warm inside. Sun kissed skin with the most beautiful blue eyes, I would love to smell PDLN 3 after the way Sebastian describes it. The way he breaks it down is how I see Liz Taylor, exotic, warm, sweet, sexual but very elegant soft and smooth. Wow! Tampa, FL, USA

  • Kimberly Phong says:

I love how you tied the elegance of Liz Taylor together with the beauty of the perfume! I can always rely on Sebastian for great in depth reviews. I have never watched any of Liz Taylor’s movie but she is an absolute icon!!

  • I can’t imagine Liz wearing this, but the labdanum that runs through the series would be wonderful. Sebastian did a good job describing this fragrance and how the cumin fits in and isn’t like B.O. Cleopatra is of course the best Liz movie. Oh, those violet eyes. I’m in USA.

  • hautebrother says:

Michelyn’s introduction was a great tie in to a perfumer as luxurious as Roja Dove. I could imagine Roja creating a fragrance inspired by Elizabeth Taylor’s grandeur. As she once said, “God is in the details” and this certainly applies to Roja Parfums. Sebastian’s excitement was infectious during his review and I was all in. I saw his rating of Roja fragrances and one of my favorites, Danger, was right near the top. I love the cumin note in fragrance. When you add the leather, rose de mai and amber accords, this fragrance sounds like a fragrance clouded masterpiece. I would certainly give a few sprays before watching Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, my fav Elizabeth Taylor film.
    Many Thanks from Brooklyn, NY!!

  • The introduction listed laudanum as the key ingredient in each of the fragrances in
Parfums de La Nuit Collection. Sebastian also briefly described it which I like. This sounds interesting because he said it’s like sex in a bottle. And even though it has some rose, it’s not a rosy fragrance.
I don’t have any favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie as I haven’t seen a lot of it.
    I live in USA.

  • ThatMulattoDude says:

Sebastian paints a really vivid scent picture of this fragrance. I can tell this would be a shock to senses were I to get my nose on this…pleasantly so. The complexity in the dry down is what is most intriguing…man would I like to get my hands on this! Appreciate the opportunity this giveaway. -Virginia, USA.

  • As a HUGE fan of old films, I loved the reference of A Place in the Sun to this fragrance! Its one of my favorite films with Elizabeth Taylor. The underlying chemistry between Elizabeth and Montgomery Clift was easy to see. She was indeed an exotic woman. Combine that with Sebastian’s description of Parfums De La Nuit #3 as being an ultra warm fragrance of a sexy, elegant, smooth leather with smoke, sexy cumin spice and rose I can picture the scene where Elizabeth is in that beautiful white dress with a floral bodice dancing closely with Monty. Off to the side there is a cigarette burning unattended in an ashtray filling the air with a sexy trail of smoke. Sex in a bottle indeed!

  • Michelyn’s introduction beautifully captures the magic that is in this fragrance and the comparison with Elizabeth Taylor only strengthens that magic. Sebastian’s genuine enthusiasm for the fragrance is infectious and makes me want to experience it myself. Elizabeth’s performance in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? was spectacular.

  • Got a lot going on in this fragrance. If Sebastion says this is sexy, I totally believe him.
Would definitely love, love, love to have a bottle of this. USA

  • Elizabeth Taylor is one of Hollywood’s most glamorous actresses. Michelyn’s Intro was a great reminder of that! Being Egyptian, I have to go with Cleopatra as my favorite Liz Taylor flick.

Another great review from Sebastian! I loved the explanation of the different laudanum sources. I always thought they were the same as well. Again, Sebastian does a terrific job! Cheers!

  • Cleopatra is my fave Liz Taylor movie! Would love to have this fragrance after hearing Sebastian describe it. The combination of rose, vanilla, leather, AND cumin? That’s sounds extremely intriguing and hope to be able to try it!

  • I always enjoy what I learn on this site, from Michelyn ‘s intro I went a looked for Liz Taylor’ s movies, and I didn’t realize there were so many! I think i have seen Giant, but I should really view more, she was/is such an icon. As for Sebastian’s review, he is so enthusiastic. I like spicy Orientals, and with the leather thrown in, it sounds really wonderful. Thank you for the draw and the review! In the us.

  • Wow! This sounds like an amazing fragrance. I enjoyed how Michelyn connected it to equally amazing actress. And I always trust Sebastian’s taste, so if he says that Roja’s Parfums de la Nuit 3 would have topped his list, I know I’ll love it. And let’s be honest, anything refered to as “sex in a bottle” can’t be bad. As for Elizabeth Taylor movies, I think I’d have to go with “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” She did a phenomenal job!

  • I loved her when I was growing up and cumin, I love anything cumin especially when Roja does it so well. TN USA

  • #3 is a variation on amber theme that employs leather. Sebastian also seems impressed by how the cumin has been incorporated in the formula. I am in US.

  • Hi all! This is my first post, although I’ve been watching Sebastian for a while now. Sebastian seemed really excited about this fragrance so I would love a 50ml of it. I recently purchased some discovery atomizers from Roja and have been mulling over another purchase from the site.

I enjoyed Michelyn’s introduction because it gave a brief synopsis of Elizabeth’s life. I haven’t had much experience with watching Liz’s movies, but what I have seen reveals how truly talented she was. It’s hard to believe that such a complete package could exist between natural beauty and talent.

  • Wow! I would love to win this! Sebastian’s reviews are always awesome. I don’t think I could ever afford this perfume. Love the smell of cumin. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie Scent of Mystery. Go figure.

  • perfumelover1977 says:

Well what I love about Michelyn’s introduction are all the lovely photographs of Elizabeth and Montgomery and all the nostalgia for these classic films. My favorite film of Elizabeth Taylor was Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. As far as Sebastian I love the way he holds the bottle of perfume every time he smells it pinky finger slightly bent seem so classy is that weird ?

  • polaroidcaesar says:

I love Ida’s reviews and how she can conjure up images very easily. Very atmospheric writing. Also love Sebastian’s reviews because, as usual, they are short, sweet, to the point, but yet highly detailed. The idea of a leather and rose fragrance with cumin sounds ooohhhh so grand. I don’t have a favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie but after reading this write up I’ll go check one out! Alabama, USA.

  • Not a lot, if any, places that sell niche fragrances in Maryland. Hopefully I can win a bottle of this.

  • Crystal Caicedo says:

I always love Sabastian’s review. Of course, what caught my attention. Is that he says this is like sex in a bottle???? Well, if it’s that good I’d love to try it! Who
Wouldn’t? A fragrance enthusiast heightened olfactory sense can be sure to go in overdrive with a good bottle of juice. I’ve never been lucky thus far to try Roja perfumes, so I’d appreciate a free sensual bottle.

As for the introduction of the famous Elizabeth Taylor by Michelyn, it encompassed important facts. I almost forgot she was and AIDS activist. Her movies were before my time, but I do remember watching cleopatra several
Times with my Grandmother. She loved Mrs. Taylor. In fact, they looked somewhat similar. Also, I believe she was the first celebrity I had seen with a perfume after them. She was definitely a force of strength, beauty and presence and from the synopsis given by both Sebastian and Michelyn, this was a perfect pairing. Therefore, I HOPE I will win a sniff of this bottle.

  • My favorite Taylor movie would be, “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.” I enjoyed being reminded of this great artist. I enjoyed Sebastian review as I’ve never tried cumin notes in any of my collection but peeked my interest.
    Pennsylvania, USA

  • Mohamed Tarek says:

Very enticing review. Made me very eager to try it one day. I’d love to enter the draw.
    Best regards from Kentucky

  • Appreciate the review. Although not smelled it, even if I don’t win, I’ll order a sample to experience the scent.

  • Elizabeth Taylor is the epiphany of beauty, my favourite movie was Cleopatra. This fragrance plus her beauty and exoticism is commendable, this fragrance is also a love for me and Sebastian as always manages to give a full comprehensive review which is very informative. That introductory speech Sebastian made keeps resonating deep inside.

  • Hi-
I love the tribute to Taylor on her birthday! I’m going to find and watch that movie right now, if I can! If Sebastian says, where has this been all my life, you can tell it’s going to be really good- I would love to win and it would be the fanciest thing of my entire life so far. 🙂 Thanks!

  • It seems obvious but Sebastian’s reviews really make or break these scents for me. Just by his excitement I know how much he likes a scent and his breakdown is so concise yet precise. I saw the video before coming to the page and while Michelyn take was different is also fleshed out what Sebastian had said by adding more of a dreamy aspect whereas Sebastian provided the technical aspect. I liked Elizabeth Taylor in Cat on a hot tin roof. I know you didn’t ask but coming in hot from NYC

  • Good Introduction by Michelyn’s. Definitely heard of Elizabeth Taylor dont know much about her so it was a interesting bit of information. I dont believe I have seen any moves with her may have to watch one. Sebastian always has really in depth reviews and a way of describing fragrance to where you can try and almost imagine what they smell like. As always he does awesome reviews. thanks for the chance to win this giveaway. From GA USA

  • I love how excited Sebastian gets me about a fragrance I have never smelled before. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is Cleopatra. I am from Los Angeles and I’d love to be entered to win the tester! Thanks!

  • Andrei artimon says:

Really captivanting review for one of my favourite house done by my favourite reviewer , new york , usa .

  • Labdanum is everything, cumin is sexy and well illustrated by Who’s Afraid of Virginia Wolfe. Sebastian is not afraid of perfumes with classical dna which is now considered difficult. I’m a fan!

  • I find it kind of hard to not get excited over a new fragrance I haven’t heard of when Sebastian is giving it so much praise. An oriental leathery fragrance sounds so amazing I have to get my hands on one!

    Based in California USA

  • This one sounds very good. Usually when sebastian gets really excited about a fragrance I end up loving them. I’m a big fan of leather style fragrances and would love to try the cumin in this one. Thanks. NY, USA

  • Unfortunately, I haven’t seen too many Liz Taylor movies but I’ll have to check ‘a place in the sun’ out! I wasn’t aware there were two ways to process and use labdanum! Just like Sebastian mentioned, one of my favorite parts of this hobby is learning (and sniffing) something new. I’m located in the USA.

  • What I enjoyed the most out of Sebastians review, is that he almost ran out of breathe, describing how sexy this fragrance is! Really made me want to buy it…I agree with what is said of “A place in the sun” such a sensual film and one’s of Elizabeth Taylor best.

  • Favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie would probably be the iconic role of Cleopatra. Nice job in the intro pairing a movie with the fragrance. I always think those are interesting exercises…pairing a fragrance with a song, book, movie, etc. Sebastian gave a great descriptive review as always. I loved how he didn’t hide his conclusion at all, but instead opened with how much he loved the fragrance. He has me excited to try it. I’m located in Illinois, USA.

  • Intriguing this fragrance is and Michelyn must have chosen A Place in the Sun for a good reason- I look forward to experiencing Roja Parfums Parfums de la Nuit #3 for myself, very excited! #3 may not be a match for The Comedians but I enjoyed that movie and Giant as well. Sebastians’ passion always shows in his reviews but he has caused me to spent more than I ever should have!

  • Wow, this must be an intoxicating exciting scent and I can hardly wait to try it. Sebastian’s review is delightful I can almost smell it. Thank you for the generous giveaway!

  • what can i say about Seb that has not been said already. His reviews are thorough and helpful for the viewers. Elizabeth Taylor’s infamous Cleopatra!
    -Sanat Dangol from
    Brooklyn, New York

  • “Parfums de La Nuit #3 represents exoticism” – I’m sold! I’ve been watching Sebastian’s reviews for a while now. I trust his nose and his knowledge on fragrance is insane. This is not a hobby for this man, this is his specialty.

“Sex in a bottle” I’m sold. Also, #3 happens to be my favorite number. I think this perfume and I are meant to be.

Elizabeth Taylor’s favorite movie? Cleopatra, hands down.

  • Both Michelyn & Sebastian have painted quite the picture for this fragrance. It sounds so deep and sexy. I’m intrigued to see how the rose, cumin and the leather play out. If it’s anything like i’m picturing then it’ll be a stunner. Thanks Sebastian for introducing us to these amazing gems. Keep up the great work!

  • My favorite fragrance youtube reviewer Sebastian, his reviews are always on point. Honest, and describes the fragrance as if I’m smelling the perfume in front of me. I’ve tried a sample of parfums de la Nuit #3 and fell in love with it. I want to have that full bottle but it’s too expensive.

  • I really enjoyed reading the explanation of the De la Nuit series of Roja Parfums provided by Michelyn. It seems like all three are masterpieces. Just the way Sebastian describes the sexiness of that combination of balsamic notes, cumin, and rose makes my nose itch to try De la Nuit #3. Cumin is a perfumery note that has always worked well with my skin, but combining this with resins and rose, two of my favorite notes? Now I’m really interested! I don’t really have a favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie, but she is definitely an icon of early American cinema. Thanks for the review and for the chance to win! I’m in Oregon, US.

  • Andrew Mattox says:

This sounds like another great fragrance from Mr. Roja Dove. Sebastian is so passionate in his reviews and got me started on my fragrance journey!

  • Sebastian’s excitement describing this fragrance is like no other I have heard. Right?! So, it must be amazing fragrance. I want to have it and analyze it, and love it and wear it. Yes please! Rose as connecting note – sounds perfect. I love rose in any form. Chicago, IL USA

  • Armando Esparza says:

When Michelyn used the term “exoticism” to describe Roja Dove’s Parfum de la Nuit #3 and Sebastian mentioned this would undoubtedly make it it to the top of his BEST of Roja Dove’s list, i knew that this is a winner. Hopefully, I too, will be a winner.
    South Gate, Ca. USA

  • Thank you for the giveaway. This perfume sounds divine. I absolutely adore base heavy fragrances, and actually have yet to find a beautiful cumin that works with me (like Sebastian said it’s cumin heavy). My favorite Elizabeth Taylor film would be Cleopatra, as it was the first one of hers I saw and holds a sentimental value. California.

  • I liked how in the intro it was explained that PLDN #3 represents “exoticism” and #1 our “inner predator”. I did see a video where Roja described the 3 from these series as sort of 3 different people or characters. From Sebastians review I loved his breakdown and that he explained cistus being the oil from laudanum and laudanum referring to the absolute. I dont have a favorite Elizabeth Taylor film sorry. Thank you so much for this incredibly generous draw!

  • the leather and rose with th cumin as described here sounds amazing and I can’t wait to get my nose on this one. Maybe I will learn to like cumin finally

  • Thank you for amazing introduction Michelyn Camen and great review Sebastian❤️

  • Almost all of Roja Dove’s fragrances scream sophistication and elegance. Though never owning a bottle of my own this seems like it might be a good first step into the world of Roja Dove. Sebastian’s my go-to fragrance reviewer and there is definitely something about his review and this fragrance that makes me want to own one. The introduction has actually taken me in to the culture and never knew how much history a fragrance can have.

Thank you so much for the giveaway

  • I enjoy learning the differences between labdanum and cistus notes in Sebastian’s review.

As for Michelyn’s intro I did not know that was the origin story to her marriage to Eddie Fisher. Quite a dramatic love triangle.

Only saw Cleopatra so I guess that’s my favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie.

  • I love “A Place in the Sun,” it is one of my top 3 Elizabeth Taylor movies. My mom educated me on all things Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift. I knew I was gay from watching him in the then old movie, “The Misfits” as a youngster. Nothing is sexier than Liz & Monty together.
I also love Mr. Dove’s idea of each note in this fragrance being ceated to represent the hour at sunset (that free, unchained moment between light and dark).
I also love Sabastion’s enthusiasm and description of the fragrance. Am very happy to have my hat in the ring to be drawn for this dreamy fragrance.

  • Love how Sebastian describes this scent and he makes this sound like a fragrance I need to try; right up my alley! Greetings from South Carolina, USA

  • alialdujaili says:

I’ve tried parfum cologne line and it didn’t break the ground for me, but Sabastian’s description for De La Nuit #3 took my nose to a different level of Roja and it’s so nice that the giveaway shall be dedicated to E. Taylor on her Birthday, I remember Doctor Faustus and her role were never spoken a word the whole life of the movie

  • Hong Kai Heng says:

Lincoln, Nebraska – I’ve been searching for a perfect Cumin fragrance for the winter and when Sebastian mentioned it as one of the greatest, I’m beyond intrigued!! All the notes sounds sexy to me!

  • Justin Hinckley says:

I love the narrative behind this and how these fragrance matches with narrative. Often fragrance evokes reality and is symbiotic, adding context and meaning and relevance. So that when you smell it, you cant help associate it with a time, place person or film!

  • So this packaging looks dope. I also love Sebastian’s view points and love for fregrances. He honestly make me want to get my noise on this really bad. The rose sounds interesting because it’s not so much on the forefront.

  • I like how Michelyn relates Roja Parfums de la Nuit #3. to a classic movie. Sebastian review is always very helpful and in depth. Parfums de la Nuit #3 is his top Roja favorite which makes me more curious to try. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor’s movie is The Flintstones.

  • I like Sebastian’s fabulous note breakdown of this sexy fragrance. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is Cleopatra. She was so gorgeous. Thank you for an amazing draw! CA, USA.

  • The only movie i have ever watched of Elizabeth Taylor was the Flintstones many years ago when i was about 12 years old. Al though her roll there was smaller than her other films, she did an incredible job. I can see why this fragrance was picked to “represent” Elizabeth Taylor. Sebastian described this fragrance as a “sexy” cumin fragrance. Although i have never tried a cumin heavy fragrance, the way sebatian describes it will no doubt have me sampling this fragrance. I can see this being very cozy and warm, something i would enjoy. Thank you for your great reviews Sebastian. Commenting from California USA

  • I appreciate Michelyn attaching a link to her Elizabeth Taylor tribute. I always enjoy reading about the stars classic Hollywood. And I’m glad Sebastian stated the cumin wasn’t the body odor kind, which is unfortunately what I get from a lot of cumin-dominated fragrances (example: Cartier Declaration). My favorite Liz Taylor movie is Cleopatra.

  • Love Roja Parfums, love Elizabeth Taylor and absolutelly love Sebastian’s reviews. The exoticism of Parfum de la Nuit fits perfectly Lizzie’s violet eyes and her astonishing beauty. Would love to own this particular fragrance. Thank You for the draw. Lexa,Brooklyn,US.

  • I’m eager to try this after Michelyn’s comparison to A Place in the Sun and Sebastian’s high praise. I really like cumin and I love labdanum, and this sounds like a particularly complex and alluring use of both. I’m in the US.

  • I truly enjoyed how Sabastian described this fragrance. I could almost smell the cumin. I am a fan of Elizabeth Taylor. Miss Taylor was the epitome of sophistication as well as elegance. I would love to win this amazing fragrance.

  • Never having tried a Roja Dove fragrance, I have nearly no idea what to expect. Sebastian gives the best reviews to help remedy that matter lol! Maybe I just need more cumin in my life. However I’ve briefly heard about #3 before and how fantastic it must smell. I’m also in the same vein about Elizabeth Taylor, pretty and talented, but I’ve personally haven’t watched her films yet (probably because I’m young.)

  • Michelyn’s introduction was very informative and interesting. Sebastians video was awesome as usual and I love Cumin as a note when it’s well rounded as I’m sure this fragrance is. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor Movie….Cleopatra!

  • Patrick Alexander says:

I’m not a bug Elizabeth Taylor fan but Muchelyn’s cinematic tie-in and Sebastian’s adequately descriptive review makes Parfums de la Nuit No. 3 sound absolutely alluring.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s introduction and how the perfume relates to amber sunsets and how it reminds of Elizabeth Taylor. Sebastian’s reviews are always great. His description of the cumin in this fragrance makes me want to try it. I don’t have a favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie, but she’s always been a glamorous figure, and I love her jewelry.
    USA

  • The purpose for the use of amber in The collection gives a good backdrop.
It seems Sebastian was so excited he could hardly contain himself.
I can’t say I’m familiar with any Elizabeth Taylor movies.

  • Was wonderful to hear Sebastian’s description of the cumin, landanum, and benzoin. The “Sexy” appeal here I believe can be attributed to the leather/cumin that can give off a dirty sex appeal. The story from Ida really ties in the sexiness from a timeless star. Great reviews!

  • I really enjoy the reason for the movie choice that Michelyn made. The mention of the love triangle in the movie seems to mesh with what Sebastian is saying in the video because it has such a complex and changing scent as the fragrance develops! I love that it’s primarily a leather-based scent but that the cumin doesn’t come off as body odor smell! I would love to experience this.

I think my favorite Liz Taylor movie is Cleopatra. I am from Pennsylvania in the USA.

  • I grew up watching Elizabeth Taylor films with my parents. I always thought her roles were quite mesmerizing. Something about the way she played out her part was truly astonishing. After watching/reading Michelyn’s introduction and Sebastian’s review of Parfums de la Nuit #3, I immediately wanted to run and get a sniff myself. I’ve considered myself a fan of Roja and I was almost ashamed to say that I just overlooked this particular fragrance. Sebastian’s words almost put the scent right under my nose as if I can exactly imagine what the scent is. Now that Elizabeth Taylor’s role has been compared to de la Nuit #3, I know I have to try it. Sebastian’s recommendations were always smashing hit to me so I know this won’t disappoint me either. Beautiful review & introduction!

  • Wow #3 means exoticism, count me interested, the list of notes looks amazing and is described as warm, sensual, leathery. Nice! And Sebastian review is awesome: sex in a bottle?? Top ten?? Yes please!!!!
    I live in the US

  • I enjoyed that your intro for Elizabeth Taylor was pretty much everything that I remembered about her as a kid in the late 80s and early 90s.

Sebastian’s intro to the fragrance makes me want to pop over to 5th Av and have a sniff!

My favorite Liz Taylor movie is Cleopatra.

Spot on… The exoticism a tribute by Michelyn Camen on Elizabeth Taylor’s birthday and Sebastian’s review of Roja Dove Parfum De La Nuit No 3, sex in a bottle and cumin the major player. Must-have Roja Parfums in collection compels me to participate in the draw if the admin letting my relative address in the NY, US. Never ever have Roja Dove perfume owned so far. Thanks for the draw.

  • Trisha Eure Withrow says:

Me and my uncle used to watch all the older movies before he passed…great memories…
And Sebastian’s always so excited describing the fragrance…I love that!
    I’m from Illinois.

  • Sebastian’s enthusiasm for this is contagious. The “sexy” comments he makes reminds me of another fragrance that he had similar comments and I love that one. Cumin can be tricky to use and he covers that concern well.
BTW “Black Beauty” is a classic E. Taylor movie. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

  • I loved how excited Sebastian got when describing this fragrance! It sounds heavenly and complex! Tennessee USA

  • Have a decant of this and it’s phenomenal. Enjoyed the Elizabeth Taylor tribute and Roja’s use of labdanum in this line as described in the intro. Thought Sebastian did a stellar job breaking down the facets of this rose-leather fragrance. Atlanta GA USA

  • Shannon Gaines says:

In Michelyn’s intro, I was intrigued by how the amber (labdanum) was supposed to be reminiscent of the amber color of the sky at sunset. Being a huge fan of labdanum in fragrance, and loving the color of amber, this description really captured my attention and I envisioned sitting on a terrace that was surrounded by rose bushes watching the sunset. Sebastian’s review also intrigued me because I am also a fan of cumin in fragrance. If Sebastian says a fragrance is a sexy beast, I believe him 🙂 Favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’

  • The note breakdown for this one sounds right up my alley. Sebastian makes this sound amazing. Would love to try it.

  • The note breakdown for this one sounds right up my alley. Sebastian makes this sound amazing. Would love to try it

  • Favorite from the pdln line.Matter of fact one of the best offering from Roja Dove. Another spot on review by Sebastian as always,it is indeed sex in a bottle.

  • As usual Sebastian describes this and all his fragrances with such class and such amazing storytelling. Roja Dove creates such unique and extraordinary in a level all by themselves. This fragrance in particular, seems to evoke a gorgeous, lovely and sexy experience unmatched.
    Thank you so much!

  • I love how Michelyn introduction of Parfums de la Nuit #3 as a must have Roja perfume that represents exoticism. Sebastian’s description of the fragrance as sex in a bottle concisely sums up his useful review. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is Cleopatra. Regards from the USA.

  • I enjoyed Michelyn’s introduction which introduced me to a new Liz Taylor movie that i hadnt seen yet! I also love Sebastian’s review and his breakdown of the fragrance, and his obvious excitement belying how much he enjoys the fragrance.

  • Ha? foreshadowing or directing? Who knows? I like Michelyn’s word choice: foreshadowing.
I have always been a fan of Sebastian. So, I think I am going to be headed to Neiman M. to sniff this if it is available.
Thank you for the intro and review. Texas, USA.

  • No one sells a fragrance better than Sebastian! Never thought I’d want to smell like cumin but he has me sold. Sign me up, please !

  • I do like amber but never smelled any amber from Roja Dove. I’m intrigued of the description of this parfum.. exotic and sex in the bottle. Like to find out if that’s true.

  • Michael Werno says:

Loved his description of this scent, particularly the explanation of the cumin and rose. Favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is Cleopatra

  • Michael Werno says:

Loved his description of this scent, particularly the explanation of the cumin and rose. Favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is Cleopatra. NY, USA

  • Oh my…the base is jam-packed full! Everything happens in the base! Interesting there’s no vanilla but it comes across as there might be. Warm, leathery with a touch of rose and orientals sounds elegantly unique. Obviously, Sebastian is quite taken with this one and it comes across. Michelyn’s intro mentioning Tom was of interest. We have the same last name. USA

  • Thanks, Ms Michelyn, for reminding about legendary Elizabeth Taylor ‘s birthday! We all love her!
I love Sebastian’s review as always! “Sex in the bottle” – WOW!! This is enough for run to shop for testing this perfume, although I do not like cumin in perfumery.
    USA

  • I really enjoyed the review and the clear descriptions about the notes and the overall feeling of the fragrance. As far as Elizabeth Taylor, I don’t think I’ve seen many of her movies (maybe Father of the Bride), but when I think about Taylor in the context of Roja Parfums, I think about the jewelry to be honest.

  • Love the nostalgia for a simpler and more romantic time. Sebastian’s description was in depth and engaging. MO, USA

  • LOVED this review!!! So sexy! I really like cumin notes and all these spicy drydown notes. I don’t own any Roja fragrances and have had so many on my wishlist. This one is definitely going to be my first I purchase.
My favorite Elizabeth Taylor film is “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”.

  • Kelly Atwood says:

Oh my goodness I am SO excited to try this scent! I recently got my first bottle of Roja (Elixir Pour Femme) and am excited to smell the others. Sebastian’s description got me super excited about this one! I loved learning more about Elizabeth Taylor on the blog post as well.

  • Really enjoyed Sebastian’s review for Parfums de la Nuit #3 by Roja Parfums (I have not tried anything from them before). It made the (imagined) olfactory experience very alive for me, though wasn’t sure how some notes would be like. Frankincense, labdanum, leather, patchouli in the base and cistus and rose in the heart sound wonderful, though I am not familiar with cumin, except in cooking 🙂 It would be so nice to check out cumin in this perfume, as it seems to be utilized very well according to Sebastian. Also, it seems the strong sweetness of rose is mellowed or balanced by artemisia – and overall, more than the specific ingredients, it seems the “whole” perfume is much bigger than the sum of its parts.

Michelyn Camen’s choice of Parfums de la Nuit #3 to celebrate Elizabeth Taylor’s birthday, and Sebastian’s video review, speak highly of the quality of this perfume.

Reading these reviews and watching videos is a learning experience for me (I loved Sebastian’s humble approach towards perfumery as a constant learner – it is such a vast field).

Thank you for the draw and introducing so many wonderful perfumers to the world. Writing from USA.

  • I enjoyed Sebastian passion for reviewing, he know how to break the scent piece by piece. And in doing so he gives the viewer an accurate picture of the scent.
I’m not familiar with Elizabeth Taylor movies, I’m too young

  • Camille Sheil says:

Wow! Love that this fragrance has such a heavy base! What a great review! It should be in the top 10 fragrances! Happy birthday to Elizabeth Taylor! I don’t have a favorite movie of hers, but was very interested in her life in general. She had a gene that gave her an extra set of natural lashes! Wouldn’t we all like that?! Love the bottle design as well! Beautiful!

  • Michelyn’s introduction was very informative and interesting, and I love love Sebastian’s videos. We haven’t Parfums de la Nuit collection in our local shop, but Michelyn’s introduction and Sebastian’s impressive description make me to find sample for test this “sexy in the bottle” perfume.
I like labdanum and am intrigued buy combination of labdanum, cumin and civet.

  • Eric Rellergert says:

I like the pairing of a classic movie, and one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, with the allure of this perfume. Sebastian’s review was fantastic as always, I love cumin/leather/rose/spices, so this sounds lovely.
    Thanks for the opportunity!

  • I enjoyed the fact that Michelyn’s review could conjure up such a vivid imagery of a by-gone era to compare to Parfum De La Nuit 3’s mystique. I loved how excited Sebastian seemed about the cumin note in the perfume as cumin is a note I would love to explore more. As for Elizabeth Taylor, I unfortunately only know about her history through the love that my parents had for her in their younger days. Thank you for the opportunity to experience such an exclusive fragrance!

  • Michelyn’s story really captures vintage romance. I only remember Elizabeth Taylor from Cleopatra. New to Sebastian’s reviews and subscribed immediately he knows his notes.
    Kimbert, FL USA

  • Great review Sebastian.

I had a sample of this juice a long time ago. All I can remember is the drydown. Leather, incense and cumin. A flashback of emotional memories of my youth.. That is what you called a “Proustian madeleine moment”… This is exactly what this fragrance does to you. How did Roja manage to create such a juice out of all theses notes?

    Thanks for the giveaway.

    from NY, USA.

  • It is always a delight to get the perspectives of both Sebastian and Michelyn. Sex in a bottle would certainly sell it to many. I really would look forward to trying this.. Speaking of Eddie Fisher,I loved Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra as well as in Giant, the former because it was so over the top and the chemistry between she and Richard Burton was amazing.,and latter because of James Dean. Thanks for a super review and a wonderful draw. My figures are crossed. I’m in the USA

  • I don’t own any leather fragrances yet or any Rojas for that matter but I’ll in the near future. I’m sure that this one must be another great creation from this magnificent perfume house. Thank you to Mr. Jara for introduces us “the newbies” to a wonderful selection of great upscale and fine quality fragrances. Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.
    Commenting from Orlando, Fl USA.

  • Michelyn’s introduction was very insightful. It’s cool to know how Roja was inspired by the color of sunsets to use in his perfumes and using labdanum as one of the key notes in the perfume.
Its always nice watching Sebastian Reviews. He describe this fragrance to be extremely complex, but that its main notes are: rose, cumin, and leather. I love rose and leather notes but I haven’t tried cumin notes to my knowledge. However, knowing the great master perfumer, Roja Dove, it won’t disappoint. I’m very excited for this giveaway.
    I’m located in Georgia, USA

  • Great review as always, Sebastian mentioned the best cumin ever which is not like BO! Very interested to try the perfume out and thanks to Michelyn I need to revisit the movies too , thank you for this great giveaway away and good luck everyone CA USA

  • Love leather fragrances so this one sounds right up my ally and I’m glad the rose isn’t very prominent as described by sebatian. Haven’t tried any from roja dove except Elysium but have heard great things about the brand. Great take on this fragrance by sebatian as always. I would love to win a bottle of this.

  • Bryant Worley says:

I appreciated Michelyn’s connection with Tom Crutchfield, as well as her intimate knowledge of the fragrance, choosing a movie that epitomizes it. Sebastian? I always his reviews, and this one is no different – very thorough and moving. I especially appreciated his statement that even the Cumin is sexy. So, looking forward to getting my nose on this. I like Elizabeth Taylor Films, but have no favorite.

  • Rose, Leather, and Sexy Cumin. I love the way Michelyn talks about the fragrance and moves into the movie , A Place in the Sun. With the beautiful Liz Taylor and Montgomery Cliff, a great movie. Launching the Roja Dove, Parfums de la Nuit #3 on her birthday! Sebastian’s review is great! Sexy cumin! He loves this fragrance and I would love to try this. I have never experienced any of Roja Dove fragrances. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is Cleopatra. USA

  • I came to know about this from Sebastian review. As always I enjoy listening to him describing fragrances and this one sounds intriguing to me. Ms. Michelyn was informative and confirm to Sebastian review. Id love to get the chance to smell this in person.

  • And oh I have not watched any Elizabeth Taylor movie. Um been living under the rock my whole life..

  • haroldmoreno says:

    Hello,

I enjoyed how Michelyn describes the role that Amber plays in Roja’s Parfum de la Nuit Collection; it is not the first time that I hear about how Roja tries to tell a history in his perfumes.
I watch every Sebastian’s YouTube video, but I was impressed how excited he was describing this parfum in particular… I bet it is great. As Sebastian, I did not know the difference between cistus and labdanum… you learn something new everyday.
I have’nt watch many Elizabeth Taylor’s movies, they are old for me, but I remember Cleopatra… so that would be my favourite movie!.
    Greetings from Delray Beach!

  • I too am a sap for A Place In the Sun. Michelyn’s description of ROJA PARFUMS PARFUM DE LA NUIT 3 as “exotic” & Sebastian’s “sexy” have me sold on the parfum. I love a smokey scent & the fact that is described as unisex makes it even more intriguing. Cedar, rose, cumin, frankincense, cardiman – can’t wait to smell it. Sebastian’s review left me drooling; can’t wait to get my hands on it.

  • Michelyn’s introduction is a great!!!
I always say how I love Sebastian’s descriptions.
I love love Roja perfumes and this one sounds very very sexy and elegant. As I understand from this video- this perfume more about labdanum and dry, elegant leather. I adore leather in perfumes, especially if it elegant and not rubbery.
I like Taylor’s role of Cleopatra!
    US

  • Sebastian had me at soft, smooth, elegant leather with rose undertones, with sexy cumin. I would love to own this one! Thank you for the draw!!! I do not have a favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie. US.

  • Emmanual Kreisman says:

I love Roja fragrances …..I haven’t tried La Nuit 3 and would love to win this giveaway I enjoyed Seb’s enthusiasm. Thanks for the giveaway. Sex in a bottle sounds great.

  • I like how more often than not, Sebastian gives a caveat about whether a fragrance has cumin and if it will be off-putting. I cook so I’m familiar with the smell, but I haven’t been repelled by it in fragrance. And I like that Michelyn likens it to the exoticism of Elizabeth Taylor. I recently picked up an exotic cumin forward fragrance in (Aziyade) so I could imagine Roja’s take on it would be next level.

I’m not too familiar with Elizabeth Taylor beyond White Diamonds and Cleopatra, but she reminds me of Alexis Carrington (Joan Collins).

  • Michael Prince says:

Michelyn had a beautiful intro and dedication to Elizabeth Taylor for her birthday being the same day as Sebastian’s review of Roja Parfums: Parfums de la Nuit #3. A Place in the Sun is the perfect sensual movie to represent the sensual nature of Parfums de la Nuit #3, which sounds absolutely amazing. My favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is Cleopatra. I am from the USA.

  • I tried several Roja Parfums in a retail store when I was in New York, and I have one in my collection, but unfortunately not one from the de La Nuit collection. Labdanum – a key ingredient in the series – looks beautiful, I’d like to try. And yes, Sebastian usually shows great videos and reviews, and I look forward to watching them! Well, Elizabeth Taylor is a Hollywood classic – Cleopatra. Thanks Michelin for a great introduction. From Connecticut, USA

  • After watching Sebastian’s review and then reading Michelyn’s piece I decided to actually watch “A Place in the Sun”. Sebastian kept mentioning sexiness and leather and Michelyn mentioned sensual allure, so those ideas had a place in the back of my mind when I watched. My impression was that in the film Elizabeth Taylor’s sensual allure is like a tiger: rare and beautiful but also dangerous.

    There was the first moment George saw Angela and he had an open mouthed bewildered look. Then later when walking out of the factory he saw Angela in her car and showed the same facial expression. The sight of Angela was so rare and beautiful. {my favorite moment of her https://66.media.tumblr.com/1047ae805407c43a7a7b93bd842b1465/tumblr_mn8090obPJ1rv8zdao1_r1_500.gif}
After beginning a relationship with Angela there was a point when George came into his apartment in his leather jacket and had an intense predatory look while the radio played and he deliberated on how to get rid of Alice so he could be with Angela. Angela’s sensual allure was so intense that it led George into danger territory. And in the end for George that exotic allure truly was dangerous; he became like the victim of a tiger.

In the film Elizabeth Taylor wears many different outfits and in all cases she radiates an intensely feminine aesthetic. In this modern day her old school beauty and aesthetic is not something you can easily find. She truly is “exotic”. I have sampled various Roja fragrances and many had an opulent and alluring old school vibe that no other perfumers can seem to recreate. I have no doubt it is fitting to associate Elizabeth Taylor with de la Nuit #3.

My final thought is about this great picture from the film advertisement {https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BMjI4NzI0OTY5Ml5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMTA5OTg0NDM@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,1178,1000_AL_.jpg}.
George has the leather jacket and Angela has her exotic allure, and both are dressed very classy. It looks they they are at a beach waiting for a sunset. Imagine being George next to Angela at the moment right as the sun is about to set. I really wonder how well de la Nuit #3 can represent that moment.

Thank you for this great opportunity.

  • Much enjoyed Sebastian’s video on Parfums De La Nuit #3. He’s so excited about this perfume and I am hoping soon to try the 7 ml spray vial.

Not sure I’d like to win the bottle if it came without the top, though! Wonderful thing.

  • When Sebastian, whose fragrance collection and knowledge I greatly admire, called this one of the sexiest fragrances he’s smelt, that immediately grabbed my attention and didn’t let go. I’m stoked to try this and greatly appreciate Europerfumes for the chance to win a bottle. I also liked Ida’s intro. I do not have a favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie. I’m in USA

  • I am also a huge fan of Elizabeth Taylor. My favorite of her films is “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”. Sebastian’s review and Ida’s seal of approval makes #3 sound like a more appropriate tribute to her than her own White Diamonds. I am in KS, US

  • To me Roja Dove is epitome of niche, and high end perfumery.
Adventurous, classy ,different fragrances going through different phases.
Sebastian is obviously super impressed by Roja fragrances, and we know he’s right. Almost feels like hе is somehow connected with this brand, like it was made for him.
As for Roja Dove the only one I have the pleasure of owning is Elysium Pour Homme – the blue bottle, but because of Sebastian excitement I really want to sample Parfums De La Nuit3
Thank you Sebastian for the fine work, and Europerfumes and Çafleurebon for the gorgeous draw. Whoever wins will be really lucky and happy. I hope it would be me. USA

Sebastian always provides an informative review and this one was no different. I don’t have anything in my collection from Roja and Sebastian has put this on my list of next fragrances to try. • Traian Gheorghiu says:

Elizabeth Taylor is such a classy lady and this is definitely portrayed in her film, Cleopatra. I’d love to see a perfume made by roja dove especially for her and her style just as he did with Diaghilev.
About Sebastian, I’m so thankful that he has put in the spotlight this masterpiece, Parfum de la Nuit 3 and he always shows deep knowledge about fragrances. With parfum de la nuit 3, I got acquainted to this scent on a trip to London in harrods and ended up purchasing a 7.5 ml size in Burlington arcade. Unfortunately, as a med student I cannot afford this fragrance and this giveaway is such a blessing for whoever is gonna win. I still have a bit of that 7.5 ml size but I only use it for intimate dates and special occasions. It makes me feel so classy and exotic and good and this perfume is like my unseen shadow, leaving a trail of my personality in the air for people to perceive.

  • Roja Dove sure knows his job , and no wonder Sebastian puts him on such pedestal.
My favorite Roja Dove is Amber Aoud Absolue Precieux. Mesmerizing scent , but the price tag for 30ml bottle is ….. way too much for me. Let’s put it this way . Elysium Pour Homme Parfum Cologne is my go out fragrance , and also because of Sebasian and his Cafleurebon review i bought Sweetie Aoud Parfum Discovery Atomiser 7.5 ml .
I have not even heard of Parfums De La Nuit #3 before , but sexy leather with amber i’ll gladly wear.
    Thanks for the draw
    USA

  • What I enjoyed about both takes? Everything – especially Michelyn and Sebastian enthusiasm.
Obviously it’s a special one for both.
I only know 3-4 Roja fragrances .From the familiar ones my favorite one is Elysium Pour Homme Parfum , but at the end I got the Cologne version. Even though I prefer both the bottle and the smell of the Parfum , price difference between the two is BIG.
Parfum De La Nuit No 3 is mesmerizing fragrance I’d love to have . “A Place in the Sun” is my favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie .
Such a nice draw. Thank you all.

  • There’s no one better than an icon of Hollywood’s Golden Age , Liz Taylor, to exemplify Roja #3, aka Sex in a Bottle, as Michelyn described in her lovely tribute. Sebastian’s review opened my mind about a note I tend to shy away from—cumin. The very complex base sounds intriguing. Fav Elizabeth Taylor film: National Velvet. Thanks for the opportunity to win this bottle.

  • Highly enjoyable video as usual. I just love Sebastian’s passion for high quality fragrances , follow him since the early days of his old Youtube channel called “Man Loves Cologne”.
Roja Dove fragrances I’m a fan of-own 2 bottles Enigma Parfum and vintage Bergamot Extrait , and i want so much more.
“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” I a movie studded by all students in all Theater and film academies worldwide, for a good reason.
    I do already follow all of you on Instagram @cafleurebon , @lookfeelsmellgreat , @rojaparfums , @official_europerfumes .I also follow @rojadove and @hauteparfumerie .

  • I really love watching Sebastian’s reviews I always so much about fragrances that I did not know, like this fragrance with all its’ base notes. I can’t remember Liz’s movie A Place In The Sun but my favorite movies of hers are Cleopatra and Giant. Thanks for the reviews and the giveaway! Texas, USA

  • I feel nostalgic for times when beauty meant classic beauty: perfect skin, lips, eyes, brows, symmetric face, ‘golden’ rule of harmony. I miss it even though I wasn’t even born. I miss it even though I understand world has moved on and there is no going back to those standards. Still…
I love Elizabeth Taylor in movies where she portrays love/sex starved woman, like “Cat On A Hot Tin Roof” or “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?”.
I’d love to try the perfume that’s, per Sebastian “Sex in a bottle”. Considering the price it really is a kind of unicorn, not too many people got to have this and exclusivity sparks the imagination and the desire even more.
    Fingers crossed. USA

  • I enjoyed how Michelyn related it to Elizabeth Taylor’s exotic beauty and how Sebastian relalyed that the rose and leather accords compliment each other in the fragrance. Cat On A Hot Tin Roof is my favorite. Thank you.

  • Wow Roja Dove giveaway 🙂
Wonderful description. Exquisite rose , and leather fragrance with sexy cumin.
The best Cafleurebon giveaway, since I’m a loyal subscriber.
I don’t have a favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie , but favorite Roja Dove I do Vetiver Pour Homme Parfum Cologne.
    I’m so excited, USA

Sebastian’s reviews are always so vivid in their description. I always want to buy everything that he loves! My favorite Liz Taylor movie: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. She was on fire in that one.

Love cumin in fragrances. Wearing Tom Ford’s, Santal Blush, at the moment, but I don’t think it is as over the top as I would like it to be. Please prove me right and select me as the winner!!

I literally just smelled this fragrance for the first time on yesterday and fell in love. Then, I saw Sebastian’s video which confirmed my experience with this frag, and it is definitely a must-have for any collection. That said, I truly enjoyed the labdanum and cistus.

  • Beautiful vintage noir b&w photos set the backdrop in Michelyn’s beautiful introduction to this Roja Dove offering, and Sebastian’s review as usual does full justice to this fragrance. The notes sound intriguing, and I’d love to try. Cheers from Texas.

  • I watch Sebastian’s reviews every time and enjoy them, sex in a bottle sounded interesting. Labdanum and benzoin are notes that I definitely like. I will be very happy to win a bottle of this! And yes, Elizabeth Taylor is a classic Hollywood. I live in CT, USA.

  • What a high level perfumery Roja Dove is . Sebastian review of De La Nuit No 3 made really curious. I need to dig in more into Roja Dove fragrances.
Creation E I’m happy to have. When i think about it, i imagine hard to get invited into private gentleman’s club , with cognac and tobacco all over it.
Since I’m a Pastry Chef I can’t decide what my favorite Roja fragrance is Sweetie Aoud, or Creation E. I also can’t decide what my favorite Elizabeth Taylor movie is, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and GIANT are equally as good to me.
Appreciate the review , and the giveaway campaign. In US

  • Top notch floriental I don’t know, but I’m eager to try . Also leathery and balsamic.
As a said a couple of times Sebastian to me is the best reviewer , both on YouTube and on Cafleurebon . Bought over 30 niche fragrances because of him. All Roja fragrances I have smelled are deep , and never linear , m y expectations of Parfums de la Nuit #3 are really high now.
Risque for men is in my possession – phenomenal scent , and the best Roja Dove fragrance i’m familiar with , and one of the best fragrance i’ve ever smelled. It’s marketed for men only, but it’s 100% unisex to me-as a woman i don’t have a problem wearing it.In US is known as Creation R….don’t know why?!?
I’m well aware Cleopatra is not the best Elizabeth Taylor movie, but it’s my favorite one, because it will always remind me of my grandma.
Surreal draw, no wonder so many people are entering. Cheers from VA USA

Elizabeth Taylor was such an icon and to have such an iconic fragrance as the draw of her birthday makes Parfums de la Nuit #3 that much more special! I know many people think cumin is such a raw and dirty scent profile and can come off very “body odor-ish”, but that’s what makes it exciting for me. The fact that Sebastian says #3 has the best use of cumin makes me really want to try this one! The basenotes have such a melange of gorgeous notes… it is almost breathtaking! The fact that #3 also ranks at the top of Michelyn’s “must have Roja Dove fragrances” list as well makes this all the more worthwhile! I love Sebastian’s reviews and I value his opinions, but Michelyn… I really value her opinion more than most and if she says something is good, I am on it! It is one I need to check out when Michelyn puts her stamp of approval on it! For that reason alone I would have to check out Parfums de la Nuit #3, but then you throw in Sebastian recommending it, the sexiest cumin note…. oh wow, a stunner for sure and one I must check out! Thank you Sebastian, for your wonderful review! Thank you so much Michelyn, for putting your stamp on this one and for the highly regarded opinion! Thank you for everything you do! A big shout out to EuroPerfumes as well, for this super generous opportunity! I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say that we are all beyond grateful for this opportunity! It is greatly appreciated! Commenting from Delaware, US. Good luck to all! Someone is surely in for a treat! Happy Belated Elizabeth! May you have a joyful fragrant birthday while you watch down on us! (Elizabeth passed 9 years ago on my birthday, March 23rd… may you continue to rest in peace)

  • Favorite Liz Taylor movie? Weirdly, I’m torn between “National Velvet” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”…probably because they’re so similar. 😉 I didn’t know that Amber was integral to each scent in the collection: Amber is a favorite note, so I’d be thrilled to sniff a fragrance that both Michelyn and Sebastian think so highly of! (If I’ve learned anything, it’s that Sebastian really, REALLY know his Roja!) I live in the U.S., and thanks for the draw!

  • Enjoyed the review and well described by Sebastian. Sounds like a sexy fragrance. Like the chance to check it out. Thanks, Ca

  • Excellent review by Sebastian and oh how I miss Elizabeth Taylor! I loved the way Sebastian explained the notes and said this is “sex in a bottle!” The cumin, rose, and leather mentioned intrigue me. This fragrance sounds exquisite. My fingers and toes are crossed on this one. Thanks for the generous giveaway and I live in the US!
