Immortelle perfumes evoke the holidays for us- Immortelle flower aka everlasting flower (its botanical name is Helichrysum – named for the golden color of the sun) is grown on dry, rocky or sandy ground around the Mediterranean and is prized for its silvery leaves and bright yellow flowers. Immortelle is a shapeshifter and can smell like maple syrup, smoky tea, burnt sugar, a little salty, like fresh hay or golden tobacco depending on how the perfumer uses it and what other ingredients are in the composition. I asked Editor Sebastian Jara to take on our annual Thanksgiving post and he chose three immortelle perfumes to wear into late Fall.
