Lucien Ferrero Parfums Seringa Blanc Review + The Scent Of Heaven Draw

Lucien Ferraro Seringa Blanc

Seringa Blanc by Ermano©

With over forty years in the fragrance industry, and creations like L De Lubin, Itasca, Le Vetiver, for Lubin among others, Maitre Parfumeur Lucien Ferrero introduced his own range at Esxence 2019. Of the three new scents presented, it was ultimately Seringa Blanc that piqued my interest, fueled my imagination, and ultimately stole my heart.

Lucien Ferraro Parfums Seringa Blanc review

Marc Chagall Blue Rooster and White flowers 1957

Although possibly better suited for early Spring when Mother Nature is awakening and unfolding her fragrant cloak for a new year, I discovered my own heart awakening and bursting with joy with Lucien Ferrero Parfums Seringa Blanc in the middle of a daunting Summer season. With medical issues rearing their ugly heads, by early July my fragrance mojo and desire felt irrelevant, tapped out, and stunted. It took just a few wearings of Lucien Ferrero’s Seringa Blanc to snap me out of my funk, lift my head, and climb back up onto my scented steed. Seringa Blanc (commonly referred to as mock orange, not to be confused with Syringa which is a lilac bush) as interpreted by M. Ferrero is a heady, joyous, and slightly narcotic white floral guaranteed to make you smile. This is a scent that is all about pale and creamy blossoms deftly blended into a melange that works so well as a whole that you might struggle picking out specific notes, which is a fine thing indeed. It is all things at once; citrus, floral, and verdantly green. Lemon, neroli, and tangerine floral notes create a warm-weather lusciousness which is beautifully tempered with a slight pink grapefruit pithy, bitterness. Lily-of-the-valley and jasmine add an almost wedding bouquet or Hawaiian lei-like vibe, and cyclamen donates a dustier and furry feeling, that grounds the whole composition into a floral composition that is just flat-out lovely.

Notes: Neroli, Lemon leaves, Pink Grapefruit, Lily of the Valley leaves, Tangerine flower, White Syringa, Lily of the Valley, white Cyclamen, Jasmine abs., Orange abs.

Disclosure: Thanks so much to Kaon the distributor of Lucien Ferrero Maitre Parfums for Seringa Blanc. The opinions are my own.

Robert Herrmann, Senior Editor (Emeritus) received late September 2019 and written on August 11, 2019 one day before he was airlifted to the hospital.

I would live to win Seringa blanc fragrance for the amazing review: a narcotic white floral guaranteed to make me smile. Regards from EU

Robert Herrmann, last post from hospital. What can i say about it? What i liked and what appealed the most.
The guy was doing what he loved the most even in the hospital. I read this article almost 4 times.
strength to his husband who would surely be doing the same, reading all of his articles back and forth.
I remeber, Vanilla & The Sea Collage by Irina review by robert as i loved the bottle and the way he explained.
I was in India then and it was 2017 if am not wrong.
why i want to win, Seringa Blanc?? It’s a beautiful bottle and the way Robert described it during his last moment i really want to win it as a gift from him.

  • Wow such a powerful and heart tugging review may he rest in peace. I would like this bottle for the fresh florals notes.USA

  • I would love to win this bottle to remind me of Robert Herrmann RIP – so sad to read this news. I never met him but always loved reading his reviews. He always looked so happy and friendly. My condolences to Robert’s partner and his family circle –
    – from the UK. thank you.

  • Such a beautiful review and tribute to Robert Herrmann. This is especially poignant for me as we were e-mailing about seringa and syringa only a couple of days before he was airlifted to the hospital. I would love to win this fragrance in order to share what Robert experienced as a scent from heaven.

  • This fragrance truly seems to celebrate spring with its abundance of citrusy, floral, and green notes. I am already quite impressed by Par Amour Pour Elle so I would love to try this one too. The images are beautiful. I didn’t know Robert Hermann but I was saddened by the news of his passing yesterday. Thank you for the opportunity. I live in the USA.

Passing my condolences to family and friends.
This does sound like a beautiful scent of heaven.
    California, USA.

  • Gorgeous review and imagery!
Ever the consummate professional and lover of beauty, Sir Robert. Heaven smells divine because he populates it…

Please, don’t enter me; I couldn’t bear to wear it.
I’m grateful enough to read this.

  • Rest in peace Robert Herrmann. That is so sad, that this is his last article… Condolences to his family…

I would very like to win Seringa Blanc, because Robert described it fabulously. Thank you for the draw. I live in the EU.

  • Robert was a kind and generous man with a great smile and a wicked sense of humour. We swapped often, and shared similar tastes, so I will need to try this one.
Please do not enter me as I live in Canada and am not eligible for this draw.

  • I would love to try a perfume that was able to snap a very ill man ‘out of (his) funk’…a scent so hopeful, so cheerful, so joyful and lovely that it could have affected Mr. Herrmann at that place in time. Condolences to Ron and all who loved Mr. Herrmann. Thank you for the chance..I am in the US.

  • Tragic news of his passing. This review is a beautiful elegy. I love that this fragrance awakened his heart which was bursting with joy upon experiencing it. Condolences to his friends and family

  • wallygator88 says:

I would like to experience Mr. Herrmann’s love of florals and perhaps reminisce about his thoughts, while he smelt this perfume, and penned perhaps what he knew to be his final review.

The only memories I have of Robert will be through his reviews of the fragrances that he so loved.

    Rest in Peace!

    Love from Madison, WI

  • I’m sorry to hear about Mr. Hermann. Death is truly an enemy. I don’t believe that I heard of him previously. The reason I want to win Seringa Blanc is that it is a perfect storm of citrus, floral and green. And with its notes woven seamlessly, it will be truly powerful smelling. And THAT is a fragrance worth having. And I want it………sent to me in Waldorf, MD, USA. Pls and thank you.

  • fazalcheema says:

This draw is special because it is the last one with Robert Hermann’s input. Seringa Blanc seems particularly suited to spring. i have Lubin itasca, a creation of Monsieur Ferrero. As I wrote yesterday, it was clear to me how much Robert loved all thing Guerlains including the classics such as L’Heure Bleue. I am in US

  • I was going to say that I would love to win because of my love for florals and because Seringa Blanc has a “Hawaiian lei-like vibe”. While that’s true, I realized it’s not the main reason. It would be a reminder of a lovely man and his “scent of heaven”. I’m not a religious person, but I wish Robert happy reunions and beautiful scented clouds – incredible scents we cannot even imagine.
    USA

  • My condolences to Mr Robert’s family. I would love to experience the white flowers with the pink grapefruit note. Thanks for the opportunity! USA

  • I’d like to try this because I could use a smile – and this one is guaranteed! Sadly I did not know Robert, but his smile says so much. Beautiful review; Chagall! I live in NY.

  • This is a lovely last article of Robert’s. His writing and thoughts are a beautiful tribute to him. I would love
to have the fragrance he smelled and wrote at his last days. Maybe the lovely flowers help transition. Rest in peace, in the heavens of floral scents. USA

  • I’d like to win since it sounds like a fresh, clean, and uplifting scent. Although “white floral” can sometimes sound feminine, this sounds decidedly unisex, and great for day wear.

I recall Robert’s articles were short, sweet, and to the point, but also descriptive and vivid. A balance between saying what one wants to say, while also not saying what doesn’t really need to be said. RIP

  • I’ve been a friend of Robert’s (indeed, who hasn’t? Such was the size of his oversized heart) for a very long time, and I was always a fan of his writing. Seringa Blanc checks all my own favorite boxes; white floral, verdant, spring-y. Robert had most excellent tastes, and his judgment could always be trusted. From DK.

  • My heart is truly broken with the passing of Robert. He was special in so many ways, the least of which was a wonderful way with words. He will be keenly missed.

  • What a scent can do, may he rest in peace. Fortunately we can still embrace this narcotic white floral. Wonder what heaven would smell like…? Living in the EU

  • Condolences, but he died doing what he loved. What could one wish for more?
The review had me with the green and citrussy scent, this would be lovely in warmer weather and spring. I live in Germany

  • Robert’s passing has touched me more than I thought it would, given the fact I didn’t know him or much about him. I have spent the past two days re-reading some articles he wrote with a more attentive eye, and his viewpoints were clear, relevant and true. He also seems to have been a bubbly, colorful, kind person. And his love for white florals resonates with me. Hope he is in a beautiful, scented white flowers garden now.
I’m from the EU and would like to remember him by smelling this perfume.

  • I would love it if I won Seringa Blanc it sounds like a happy fragrance. I am afraid I don’t have any memories of Robert because I am a new member but I pass on my deepest condolences to his loved ones. Thanks from UK

  • I would like to win Seringa Blanc because of the floral and green notes. I don’t have any memories of Robert but want to learn more about him and his favourite perfumes. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Thank you from the UK

  • It’s touching to read this review while Robert H. is passed away… it’s like bringing him back for some minutes, for some happy minues with a smile brought on his face by this white flowers perfume. I never met him, but have read his reviews and I’m extremly curious about Ferrero’s creations as I read about how the collaboration between he and Kaon began and it intrigues me.
    I’m in EU.

  • Hope this is the scent he is surrounded by in Heaven. By the review and the notes it does sound as a perfume that makes you smile. Ana, Romania, EU

  • Trying to read more about Sultan Pasha I discovered Robert Herrmann’s interview: Meet the man behind the bottle and Cafleurbon.
I’d like to win Seringa Blanc because of the floral and green notes that make afresh, clean fragrance.
    I am from EU

  • Much strenght to his family and beloved ones in these hard times! May he rest in peace!

  • I’d love to win this fragrance because the combined notes remind me of a special moment on holidays with my mother , so to have ano olfactive representing of that would be wonderful.

Sláinte to his friends and family ( it’s an Irish blessing )

    From the EU.

  • This so heartbreaking and I truly want to send my condolences to the immediate family and Robert Herrmann’s family at Cafleurebon. I would love to win this fragrance as I like the joyous notes and that scent profile which was beautifully described. Many blessings to Robert Herrmann’s family. I live in CA, USA.

  • Rest in peace!I would like to try this perfume for the fresh-floral notes.Thankyou for the draw.I’m from E.U

  • I’ve never met this man, and yet read many of his Words. I wish him and his family all the best.
I would love to get my nose into Seringa Blanc.

  • Strongness and gentleness : citrus, floral, and verdantly green. For a new member, Seringa Blanc would be a true gift . Thank you , Sr. Editor Emeritus Robert Herrrmann.

  • I did not know Robert but he is the reason why I want to win this fragrance. For it was he who wrote, “It took just a few wearings of Lucien Ferrero’s Seringa Blanc to snap me out of my funk, lift my head…”. Though I don’t have the dark days I’m sure Robert had, I could use a fragrance like this for the days that I too struggle. Thank you for the opportunity. USA

  • Thank you, Robert, for your last review. If this is how you perceive the scent of heaven, I’d like to smell it, too. This is my favorite from this review- ‘It took just a few wearings of Lucien Ferrero’s Seringa Blanc to snap me out of my funk, lift my head, and climb back up onto my scented steed.’ This must be an amazing fragrance for you to snap out. May you rest in eternal peace, Robert. Thanks for this draw, Cafleurebon. – CA, USA

  • I never met Robert, but I always loved his writing. Amazing that he was able to complete this review. That this fragrance lifted his heart and got him back on his “scented steed” while going through serious health issues is why I would like to win this perfume. I have been going through some health issues myself and feeling in quite a funk. USA

  • This fragrance sounds so beautifully made and kindred to a beautiful life. I always enjoyed reading Mr. Herrmann’s reviews. Seeing his name heading a review signified a lot of good things to look forward to when reading that particular article. May he rest on. (Commenting from USA)

  • It is a beautiful gesture to organize this draw as a homage to one of the pillars of cafleurebon and the perfume community. I have also noticed his new “title” and I hope he can see it from wherever he is now. If this perfume managed to bring a smile to his face and lift his spirits even while struggling with health problems, it must be a special one. So i’ll thank him and cafleurebon for the generosity and truly enjoy Seringa Blanc, should I get to smell it. From the E.U.

  • redwheelbarrow says:

My condolences to Robert Hermann’s friends and family. Thank you for sharing his last review with us.

  • Such a beautiful and yet final review from one who was loved by so many. Grateful to have access to all his and Tama’s many reviews on CaFleureBon.
We all need something to get us back up on our scented steed and this one sounds perfect in oh so many ways.

  • doveskylark says:

I am so sad that Robert has passed away. I loved his reviews.
Here he writes: “it is all things at once.” I think this could describe life. I’m happy that Robert could enjoy an exuberant fragrance such as this before he passed away.
    I live in the USA.

  • Our prayers go out to his family and indeed the title seems appropriate to the times. This seems like a floral scent with a hint of citrus, also a perfect choice. Thanks for the draw. From USA.

I want to win Seringa Blanc because it sounds like a grgous and clean scent with a aromatic and floral feel ! It seems like a truly charming fragrance and I did not know Robert Herrmann. Robert Herrmann has touched many lives and done so much good, perhaps behind the curtains.

  • I love the idea of a citrusy white floral. I’ve gotten a lot of bad news lately so I could definitely use a mood booster. This fragrance sounds stunning.
My heart goes out to Robert Hermann and those who knew him.
    CA, USA.

  • bigscoundrel says:

  • What a powerful review. Seringa Blanc reads like an ode to spring: a time of renewal and rebirth. Condolences to his family. I’m in the US

  • Rest in peace Robert. My condolences to the Cafleurebon team and Robert’s partner. I enjoyed reading his reviews. This sounds like a lovely fragrance based on the note list. US.

  • so sorry to hear the bad news about robert. hurts my soul. i want this perfume because i adore white florals. thank you for the opportunity. usa

  • RIP Robert Hermann.
I would like to win seringa blanc by Lucien Ferrero because I love the smell of one true flower as in En passant,Lys Mediterranée, Ostara and Muguet Porcelaine.

  • I love blossoms. I liked Robert. He was a kind man to a friend of mine. I thank him for that. His last fragrance review from his bed. May the petals fall upon him. I’m in USA.

  • Dubaiscents says:

What a perfect last review from Robert. I love that he had found a new scent to make him smile before his departure from this world. Even though I never met him in person he was always so kind and funny. He would always comment on my FB posts or just ask how I was doing over in the Middle East. He will be missed! Thank you for the draw. I’m in the US.

  • The fragrance community has lost one of its beloved members in Robert. My heart goes out to his family and to his husband. This fragrance sounds positively beautiful. I love the notes and the way that Robert wrote about them. I would love to win it as it would be a treasured memento. Thank you for a generous draw. May Robert’s spirit soar.
    I’m in the USA

  • I’ll love to win because of Robert. Although I have no memories or encounters with him, his reviews are only what I have to remember him by. I also love Lily-of-the-valley and jasmine. Rest on peacefully.
    I live in USA.

  • Unfortunately, I am new to this site so I don’t have any memories of Robert. However, it appears that he was a very important contributor to this site and world of perfumery. May his soul RIP.
As Robert wrote, Seringa Blanc lifted his spirit while dealing with his illness. If a perfume does that to a person, I would want to have that perfume. I live in USA.

  • So sad news! Sometimes I imagine what will I do if I’d be really ill, will I still find joy in life? I hope so – Robert Herrmann reviewing fragrances in his last days, finding joy in wearing Seringa Blanc – this is a life lesson for me. I love his reviews and writing about fragrances, he was such a cheerful and optimistic guy. May he rest in peace. My condolences to his family and to his many friends!

  • Maren Wilbur says:

I read this knowing I would love it, and then to read it was Robert’s last review…. I would love to try this!

  • How evocative it is that this was Robert’s last review. I am so glad he found joy in this scent and that maybe his heart lifted from his troubles for a moment. I know that feeling, to smell a scent that gives a burst of joy and it is a wonderous thing. Robert’s beautiful words will be missed by Cafleurebon readers. I had only one interaction with Robert (virtual interaction). I had written a post on my blog from an interview with Louise Penny, a writer of a popular mystery series. In the series she occasionally mentions the scent worn by her lead detective, the smell of sandalwood mixed with the rose from his wife’s perfume. Robert wrote me that he enjoyed the interview and how Penny was one of his favorite authors. He said that the little town he lived in, although all the way across the country from where the mythical Three Pines of Penny’s story was based, seemed to mirror the village of eccentric characters. His words were kind and encouraging and meant the world to me, as I admire his writing so much. Even though I never met Robert, I feel great sadness that I’ll never read his words again, so this last review was indeed Heaven Sent. Thank you.

  • Sad news and shows how much he loved this by writing this before the hospital. Also over 40 years in the fragrance world is a long time. Would like to win this bottle. Thanks, Ca

  • IvanVelikov says:

I was not aware of Lucien Ferrero , but Lubin I’m a big supporter.
Classy floral fragrance with natural smelling citruses, spring is calling for me.
I hope Robert Herrmann is in a better place now.
    Thank you. USA

  • It is both heartbreaking and beautiful that someone would call their last review ‘The scent of Heaven’. I hope it managed to bring him joy and peace in his final days.
I would enjoy smelling the notes just to see if heaven has a universal smell or it differs from person to person. I live in the EU

  • It’s shocking to learn of the passing on of Robert and I wish his family, friends and the fragrance community in general strength and comfort. The written word lives on and this review is a poignant reminder to enjoy the moment. I still smiled at the idea of a scented steed 🙂 I almost wish I didn’t win this giveaway but would still like to give Seringa Blanc a spin. I’m in USA

  • Michael Lynady says:

Such sad news, but the love & dedication is obvious by his last review. God Bless.

  • patrick_348 says:

I don’t have memories of Robert Herrmann, but from the reactions on line here, I wish I did! He sounds like a super guy. I like the described balance between citrus, floral and green notes. It sounds completely unisex and the idea of owning a scent by such a master perfumer is most appealing.

  • Michael Prince says:

Seringa Blanc sounds like a beautiful and fresh citrus/floral fragrance that would be perfect for the spring and summer. I don’t have any memories of Robert Herrmann except his review on here…I am very sad to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace. I am from the USA.

  • Gabrielle Baechtold says:

Robert’s review makes me want this scent quite badly. He always has a way of making thing ever so intriguing and desirable.
I knew Robert since the days of Basenotes long ago. I will truly miss reading his reviews, reading his FB posts and seeing his wonderful smile just radiating from all the photos he posted.

  • m.r.everything says:

This review will be a review to remember! Robert will be deeply missed in this world. He graced us with his fragrant pleasure every day! I enjoyed reading his articles, checking out his posts, and just hearing him talk about things in general…. he was very joyful and respectful, yet he would say what was on his mind, in his own RH fashion! Like most that have left comments on here, I would be honored to win a bottle of Seringa Blanc just for this being Robert’s last review alone! However, the fragrance really sounds divine and I am sure is beautiful as the title of the article alludes! My heart goes out to you, Ron, and all of the CaFleureBon team… you are all in my thoughts and prayers! Thank you for this gracious opportunity! I live in Delaware, US. Rest in Peace Robert!

  • Lots of flowers and lots of citruses is always a fresh, and uplifting combination suitable for the spring days.
When I think about Robert, RIP I always think about floral fragrances . He was known for his love for white flowers.
    Thank you.
Back and forth between USA and Scotland, 1 week in US -> 1 week in Scotland, and so on. Basically both USA and EU/UK at the same time

  • It’s comforting to know that Robert was able to find a sense of peace and comfort with this fragrance. It’s a reminder of how smells can help evoke or set our moods. The fragrance itself sounds beautiful too. I didn’t know Robert but I certainly enjoyed his contributions. I’m from the USA. Thanks!

  • Since I’m relatively new Cafleurebon subscriber , all I know about Robert RIP, is he was found out of fresh and flowery scents, and reading about it, I’m not surprised he really liked Seringa Blank.
    Fingers crossed.
    Thanks USA

  • I could be wrong of course, but I always thought of Robert Herrmann as a gentle soul. I’m sorry he’s not amongst us anymore.
My girlfriend is really into happy white flower fragrances , I’ll give her the bottle If I happen to be the winner.

  • LORI e LAWS says:

Excellent review by Robert and his fragrant writings will always be with us! Seringa Blanc sounds amazing and if it lifted his spirits while he was sick, I can only imagine what it’s like. My favorite part of the review was: “It is all things at once; citrus, floral, and verdantly green. Lemon, neroli, and tangerine floral notes create a warm-weather lusciousness which is beautifully tempered with a slight pink grapefruit pithy, bitterness. Lily-of-the-valley and jasmine add an almost wedding bouquet or Hawaiian lei-like vibe, and cyclamen donates a dustier and furry feeling, that grounds the whole composition into a floral composition that is just flat-out lovely.” Robert is an angel that we know by name and I can only imagine how he is scenting his angel wings. Thanks for giveaway and I live in the US!

  • Like my late grandma used to say “Live your life to the fullest, and really start living it, before it’s too late” .
Robert seemed like a person, who took a similar approach of life, and enjoyed it.
A lot of citruses and a floral punch is a classic combination, that never gets old.
    Thank you for the opportunity.

  • We lost a good person, and Soul no doubt about it. Being on Cafleurebon for decent amount of time I know most contributors tastes , that’s why before reading the review, I always check who wrote it first. Some do like powerful and long lasting fragrances, some close to the skin and ethereal smells, some do like animalics , and some clean and fresh , and so on.
Robert may God rest his soul, was known for his passion for florals, and especially white floral fragrances.
I was told by a friend of mine, also fragrance lover for years, about Par Amour Pour Lui , and when I saw Lycien Ferrero draw I was expecting tobacco draw, but when I saw Robert name I knew he wouldn’t chose it as his favorite of the 3.
I do admit I have love-hate relationship with white florals and especially jasmine. Some I adore, but some I can’t stand. If it really indolic, it’s not my thing.
Green and citrusy part of Seringa Blank is intriguing, especially the grapefruit bitter one.
Thank you Robert for all the joy, and for the passion you shared with us.
