I first came across EastWest Bottlers via our CaFleureBon Profiles in American Perfumers Series. Matt Moore, the co-founder, is a bestselling novelist and musician from Georgia who along with his ex-fraternity brothers started EastWest Bottlers, an authentic line of indie fragrances. His first memories of scent are those of his grandfather, a veteran of the Second World War. Matt fondly remembers “Giddy”, getting ready in front of his wooden armoire splashing on colognes such Old Spice. Splash colognes aren’t as popular as they were but they evoke a 40s Old Hollywood type of every day elegance that I really like.
