There are many niche, mainstream and designer fragrances on the market and many pair vetiver and patchouli. Editor Sebastian Jara has chosen a new release Montale Vetiver Patchouli as a great example of a perfect partnership The long, deep roots of vetiver grass reach into the soil gathering earthy green scents combine with the earthy woody, smoky qualities of patchouli.  Did you know that bathing in vetiver is used to  attract love and/or sex is also common in some cultures.  There is folklore and tales that adding vetiver oil to a bath and then air drying will make you more attractive to the opposite sex and legends that  patchouli is also used as an aphrodisiac.  Add carrots and zesty bergamot and you have a winning fragrance.

 

In fact Editor Sebastian Jara counts Montale Vetiver Patchouli as one of his favorite Montale fragrances  (with Black Oud probably a tie). -Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

    A perfect balance of vetiver and patchouli sounds like something different. Oftentimes patchouli can dominate. I want to win this and keep smelling myself too. US

    Liked the awesome new backdrop of Sebastian’s jaw dropping perfume collection. Vetiver and Patchouli together sound really interesting, and I don’t believe I have a fragrance with both blended together. From Sebastian’s take, and a huge like, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be fantastic. My favorite patchouli fragrance so far is Incident Diplomatique by Jovoy, also recommended by Sebastian and I blind bought it based on it. I would certainly love to try this one.     Sounds wonderful for summer. For Sebastian to get this excited it must be great! I don’t own anything with the note of carrot but I love Iris. Only have a few patchouli but I love vetiver.

    I felt from the name Vetiver Patchouli that it has quite unusual combination of notes. There were more surprises in Sebastian’s review that he also detects citrusy notes such as grapefruit and then jasmin. Quite intrigued. I am in US

    Have to agree with Sebastian that the vetiver-patch combo is a winner. Somehow, the chocolately nuances of patchouli seem to calm the rooty, spicy or soapy tendencies of vetiver, especially when combined with orientals or florals. He’s absolutely right – it’s an addictive scent. Really enjoyed the description of how the carrot gives the fragrance a turn toward iris. Never thought of that before! The shelves in the background really came together well too. Lookin’ sharp. NC

    Since being a kid my favorite essence has been Vetiver, after discovering the world of essential oil diffusing I got to love patchouli at best, fragrances are quite a joy to smell, they fill your experiences. I hope to get the chance on having this fragrance myself one day.

    What can I say, Sebastian knows how to sell this fragrance. I am already a fan of the Montale house. Was introduced to this house by a representative at Bloomingdales (Aventura FL, to be exact). She sold me on Sweet Vanilla and been a fan every since. Now I have Amber & Spices as well. Keep up the great work folks at Montale!

    I love another of Sebastian’s favorites with vetiver and patchouli, Incident Diplomatique, so this sounds fantastic, though as he says, they’re very different.     I always enjoy when the notes of a fragrance – particularly the notes that the fragrance is named after – are at the forefront of the creation. Sebastian described this bottle in such a detailed manner, and I am tempted to get my nose on it.

    Vertiver and patchouli have become my two favorite notes, which is strange because I used to really dislike patchouli. Can’t wait to smell this one.

    Sebastian’s collection shown behind him is incredible! The blend of patch, vetiver, and white musk on the drydown sounds heavenly and well balanced. Vetiver has a tendency to dominate on my skin, so it would be fascinating to see how much this is the case, if at all, when combined with such a strong note as patchouli. Sebastian’s review also got me interested in the Nicolaï Patchouli Intense and the Jovoy Incident Diplomatique- vetiver and patch might become a new favorite combination! I am in the US 🙂

    I really love the house of Montale. They make some really nice, powerful, long lasting niche fragrances at a really affordable price. I love Vetiver and Patchouli, so I can imagine this is gonna be great! I know Sebastian is a big fan of vetiver and he seemed to be really impressed with this. I cant wait to try this.     I love Sebastian video because I know he digs vetiver. Are you in a store or is that your collection because WOW. I also enjoyed learning that patchouli and vetiver have aphrodisiac properties so if I win I will wear it out to a bar and hopefully meet someone for a change. I like Intense Cafe and Blue Amber

    Currently, two of my favorite notes! Hard to be a blended because one of them usually over bears and wins the fight. I have yet to get my nose on this one, but Sebastian makes everything sound so damn appealing! I am in Michigan, U.S.A.

    Fresh and zingy start , vetiver and patchouli i like a lot , carrot and hints of jasmine? What an unusual combination on notes , but at the same time sounds really good.
    I do agree with Sebastian Intense Cafe is one of the best , if not the best Montale . I own it too . Compliment monster .

    What I like about Sebastians review it’s just a seems to looked it and be I think he has good taste so I hey it’s awesome! Also the prominent be notes get I don’t believe I’ve every owned a fragrance with them so something different is always good.

    If mr. Jara is genuinely impressed by this fragrance, should be a great one. Carrot note I’ve never experienced, do no own , and as far as I can remember never smelled a fragrance with pronounced carrot note. Vetiver and patchouli is a nice combination, with some white floral touches, and bergamot start. I’m intrigued how will the carrot combine with the other notes.
    I love potent fragrances, so my appreciation for Montale comes naturally. Own 5 100ml bottles , and Dark Purple is my scent of the day.

    I liked the overall notes that Sebastian mentioned. The carrot note does seem interesting with vetiver, but ever since Sebastian recommended Encre Noire a l’extreme I’ve grown to appreciate vetiver fragrances. Would like to try this one as it also has patchouli.

    Sebastian’s description of an effervescent, bitter citrus opening that dries to a balanced treatment of green vetiver and earthy patchouli with musk sounds great.

    Montale fragrances and Sebastian reviews are like perfect combination. Both I love – bold , straight to the point , honest , and you do remember both for a long time.
    In my collection there’s 2 Montale’s Mukhalat and Amandes Orientales .
    Both are sweet , long lasting clubbing fragrances.
    Vetiver Patchouli is different- classy and for special occasions restaurant, jazz event, or a date in a small Italian restaurant.

    Montale is one of my favorite houses – atm i do own 11 100ml bottles , but Vetiver Patchouli it probably brand new – never heard of it..Montale’s portfolio is so vast ~150 , or even 160 , and it’s not posible to keep up with all they got.
    If Sebastian claims this patch , vetiver carrot combo is a “match made in heaven” … i need to sample it asap.Bold statement no doubt .

    Every time I think about Montale I think about top performance. Vanilla Cake lasts forever on me.
    Vetiver Patchouli is super interesting because of the carrot. I wonder how well it’s implemented with vetiver and patchouli.

    Sebastian, Montale Vetiver Patchouli sounds like an amazing fragrance with a Sparkling and zesty citrus opening, a carrot note in the heart to smooth things out, and that perfect blend of Vetiver and Patchouli throughout the life of the fragrance. I am from the USA.
