There was a four point blind judging criteria according to Saskia Wilson Brown, the founder of The Institute of Olfaction…. First, general impressions. Secondly, from top to drydown. Intentionality was the third criteria and finally, the X factor. I was in the audience when the finalists were announced and  many international perfumers showed a great deal of interest for 2016.

CaFleureBon is a proud media partner for both Esxence  and The Art and Olfaction awards. Congratulations to the finalists. The award ceremony will be held April 17, at 7 PM  PST at the Goethe Institute in LA by invitation only.

  • WOW.

The IAO continues to be a creative and educational new flow in the perfume world, thank you Saskia!

Very honored to know by experience that Dr. Ellen Covey and Woodcut are recognized. 🙂

The most exciting thing, to me, is the opportunity for established perfumers and emerging or very small production perfumers to stand side by side. AND for the recognition of scent not merely as perfume, but when in the hands of scent artists- aroma brings art to life, or inspires a performance out of actor. These are the frontiers of aroma.

The pic of Saksia with so many familiar names brings a lot of joy. Congrats to so many neighbors in this fragrant community!
