September 2017 Spilled Perfume: “Monsters Under The Bed” + Nine No Tricks All Treats Halloween Draw

We live in times that can often feel unsettling or even frightening.  Perhaps that is why so many horror movies (do not see Mother! or Life, if you jump out of your seat or are prone to screaming), books and TV series are doing so well, because they are not real. Fear is a deeply personal emotion and begins when we are children and continues with most of us as adults. Halloween is nearly upon us, so let’s look at what frightened or terrifies the team at Cafleurebon.  Correctly match the 13 editors and contributors with the imaginary (or were they?) fear and win.

Sandi Lundberg, Associate Contributor: That there really was a monster under the bed

Clayton Ilolahia, Guest Contributor: Zombies

Hernando Patrick Courtright, Sr Contributor: Aliens

Ermano Picco, Contributor: A statue of Jesus when young

Sebastian Jara, Sr. Contributor: Imaginary Tree Monster

Gail Gross, Senior Editor: Clowns

Lauryn Beer, Senior Editor: Ventriloquist Dummies

Ida Meister, Senior Editor: The movies "The Omen" and "Amityville Horror"

Danu Seth-Fyr, Contributor: A haunted house they lived in that needed to be exorcised

Aaron Potterman, Contributor:  Scary sounds from old houses near where they lived

Robert Herrmann, Senior Editor: wolf packs

Elise Pearlstine, Editor:  Clown faced diaper bag

Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief: Talking doll given when young that repeated the same phrases over and over and over

AT my age, not much really scares me any more–except spiders and snakes. As a child, I was afraid of the dark and fog.

If I win, I would most love to try DSH Pen Voile de Parfum of Habibi, the Fitzgerald & Guislain sampler set, and Shay & Blue Parfum Nashwa Extract of Parfum. I live in the US, thank you for this chance!

I’m not sure what type of monster is hiding under my bed, but I have to sleep with my toes covered by a blanket or sheet no matter what, just in case. Monsters can’t nibble toes unless they’re left exposed at night.

I’m in the US, and I would choose Shay & Blue Parfum Nashwa, Shalini Jardin Nocturne, or Parfums Dusita Fleur de Lalita. Thanks!

  • How neat, thanks! I’ve heard the Habibi is great, or I’d love to try the samples of Fitzgerald & Guislain, or Woody Mood. I was more afraid of a closet in my house, but I always find weird random things I’d lost under my bed, so I’ve got a healthy fear of it, lol! It always felt like something was putting things under there; I was probably dropping them on the floor absentmindedly though!

When I was a kid, I saw a horror film that was a Frankenstein type movie and the main character what struck by lightening. And after he was struck, his whole body was just bones. From the point forward, I became terrified of lightening storms, fearing lightening would break through my bedroom window while I slept and strike me. As an adult, I don’t have any “fears”. But I definitely am not a fan of horror films because they do cause me nightmares!

Habibi, Sea of Grey, and Jardins Nocturne appeal to me most at the moment. I was afraid of my Mattel Drowsy doll. It had pink pajamas with white polka dots, and talked in an awful voice when I pulled the string. I hid her under my bed or at the back of my closet so I wouldn’t have to see her. Thank you for this look into the monsters that haunt CaFleureBon and for the very generous draw.
