I love the Oscars and always watch them. I would love to walk on the Red Carpet with the celebrities and be a star. Just once. We found out from Mark Behnke what many of the celebrities may be wafting for the 83rd Academy Awards. This is Hollywood, world of dualities, haute fashion, haute jewelry but a love for natural foods and cars that run on solar energy.
It makes 'scents' that many bold face names would wear a natural fragrance and Ajne Perfumes gets the award for Best Natural scent worn by A-Listers, including Kate Hudson, Kate Walsh, Felicity Huffman, Terence Howard (Hustle and Flow won a Best Song Oscar for 'Its Hard Out There For a Pimp') and so many more celebrities.
One of the fragrances seemed to call my name…Lakshmi which was created for our very own Editor-in Chief- Michelyn Camen. I wonder if she ever dreamed that Kerry Washington and Molly Sims would be wearing her personal scent. According to Academy Award Winning Marlee Matlin and (Children of a Lesser God with William Hurt) ,"Molly Sims was so friendly and really complimentary. She tried on and liked a number of scents and ultimately selected Lakshmi".
Lakshmi. was named by Michelyn for the Hindi Goddess of prosperity, generosity and charm. Her four hands represent four spiritual virtues as she sits on a fully blossomed lotus, a seat of divine truth.. An aura of divine happiness, mental and spiritual satisfaction, and success surrounds her.
A fitting name for such a beautiful fragrance.
Actress Molly Sims
Lakshmi is the most expensive fragrance in the Ajne line. According to Jane Hendler, the perfumer and owner of Ajne,"Lakshmi was created sparing no expense" to honor Michelyn's passion and love of fine fragrance, no matter the price tag, The best of every ingredient was a MUST!
After trying Lakshmi several years ago, before my affiliation with CaFleureBon, it became a signature scent for me.
Lakshmi is an absolutely gorgeous yet, complex fragrance. When I wear Lakshmi, I am whirled into the scent of quality and passion! It starts out with a chiffon blanket of a dark blood orange that deepens as my skin absorbs this scent of a goddess! Ever so gently, my inner chakra is awakened with middle notes of delicately scented petals of Bulgarian Rosa Damascena dusted with a light layer of Indian Lotus and Magnolia. As I am pulled deeper into the grasp of Lakshmi, I am surrounded in the warmth of Sandalwood, African Cacao, Orris and Amber and a touch of Vanilla, a final wave of a slightly floriental bliss!
Lakshmi is such a beautiful fragrance. Being in the presence of such a high quality scent will lift you to your highest self as it helps you open yourself to life's never ending journey! The scent is like a fine jewel, enveloped with beauty and admiration. The ingredients blend so smoothly together. From the top note of Blood Orange to the base notes of Sandalwood, African Cacao, Orris, Amber and hint of Vanilla, I was gently transitioned deeper into this fragrance nirvana!
Lakshmi compliments my skin perfectly, as it warms my soul with a unique combination of ingredients and leaves all passersby wondering why they become instantly addicted to the beauty and warmth of such an inviting scent.

Editor’s Note: No I had no idea celebrities would wear Lakshmi; I had hoped that it would be worn by everyone so they would understand the opulence and complexity in a natural fragrance. I met Jane when she opened her boutique at Bergdorf Goodman and was instantly attracted to her amazing personality. We kept up our friendship through email and through hugs at Sniffapolooza events. I also chose this cuff by my ex boss Kimberly McDonald, who has created jewelry worn by Kim Cattrall, Sara Jessica Parker and for Halle Berry, the first African American actress to win an Oscar (for her performance in Monster Ball). Kimberly shares many of the same principles as Jane and is a strong believer in Chakra Energy. In fact her line originally was called “Rock-ras”. Molly Sims also appeared on the February cover of More magazine, whose Editor in Chief is ex colleague Lesley Jane Seymour!!! SUCH ABUNDANCE
"Om shrim Maha Lakshmiyea Swaha" is my personal mantra.
Our draw is for one sample of Ajne’s Lakshmi and one sample of Bella (Ajne's latest) to one commentor.
Please leave a comment about Natural fragrances, Jane Hendler Ajne perfumess, Your personal mantra or favorite Hindi Deity Kerry Washington, Marlee Matlin, Molly Sims, Your pick for Best Actress, More Magazine or Kimberly McDonald. Draw ends Monday February 28, 2011
