HSN has become a new destination for some excellent fragrances at affordable prices. After all, they launched the successful Dita Von Teese perfumes. Another glamorous woman is introducing a new scent, actress Sofia Vergara (who is said to be a fan of niche perfumes from Hermes and CREED). Instead of a straight licensing deal, the Latina bombshell has entered into a strategic partnership with Parlux, so she could maintain creative control over her first perfume, Sofia and what will most likely be a series of scents. Sofia Vergara the star of the Award Winning TV show "Modern Family" enlisted a perfume star, International Flavors & Fragrances Bruno Jovanovic (Thirdman, Dries Von Noten for Frederic Malle, A Lab on Fire Transparent Blue).
Pantone has named Radiant Orchid as the color of 2014, and Sofia’s notes of blackberry, sparkling cassis buds, plum, purple violet, Colombian Rose and Colombian Orchid (nod to her heritage) sound right on trend. Notes of earthy woods, vanilla and sandalwood are at the base.
Sofia will be found exclusively in the US at HSN until July, and will come in two versions: a 50 ml bottle retailing for $48 and 100 ml at $55. A 200-ml. Body Shimmer will also be available for $30. After July, the new 'Sofia' perfume will also become available at U.S. department stores. The ad campaign photographed by Carter Smith for the new scent featuring the star will be released in fall.
I love Sofia Vergara’s unabashed sexy style and admire Bruno Jovanovic so I will be dusting off the HSN card for this one. On a personal note, she is a role model for Latinas everywhere and according to research studies Latina women wear fragrance 6 days of week. I hope its not just another run of the mill celebrity scent.
