Three years after Bottega Veneta’s eponymous first scent, the luxe Fashion Company introduces Knot, a fragrance collaboration between Creative Director Thomas Maier and Coty Prestige.  Knot was  composed by Daniela Andrier of Givaudan, and  takes a  different  direction  than its chypre predecessor that featured strong leather notes.  Bottega Veneta Knot perfume opens with a clementine accord, adding mandarin, limette, neroli and orange flower to the mix.  Aromatic lavender is at the heart and rose and peony provide floral touches to contrast the earthier musk and tonka beans at the base notes.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the flacon  is topped with a matte gold cap in the shape of a knot —  referencing Bottega Veneta’s best-selling Knot clutch.  A print and digital ad campaign featuring Australian model Julia Nobis is planned for in store and point of sale.

Available in late August, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman in the U.S. and Harrods in the U.K. have an exclusive launch ahead of the international September rollout, and Knot EDP will also be available in all Bottega Veneta boutiques worldwide.  The target markets for Bottega Veneta perfumes include the U.S., Italy, Germany, the U.K. and the Middle East as well as Asia.

Knot will be available in 30-ml., 50-ml. and 75-ml. bottles, which will retail for $90, $125, and $160, respectively, in the U.S. Ancillary products of body lotion, shower gel and body cream will be offered as part of the collection.

Great bottle! I love the first Bottega Veneta, it’s a go-to scent that always feels right, but I haven’t tried their second one yet. Always so much to smell ☺

  • So far, I’ve liked Bottega Veneta, BV Eau Legere and Essence Aromatique. I haven’t tried BV Pour Homme. I have high hopes for this one too, though lavender isn’t a favorite note. As long as it isn’t too prominent or harsh, I might enjoy this.

  • This sounds and looks like another one I must try. The bottle is fantastic! Love the notes in this one. Like Melissa Lavender is not a favorite note for me either, but if it’s tuned perfectly with the other notes in the composition it is beautiful, and very harmonious.

  • I promised myself to never buy fragrance based on the bottle alone, but this one is pushing me in all the right directions. The scent sounds lovely, too.
