One of my favorite discontinued fragrances is Absinthe by Slatkin & Co. which was created by Christophe Laudamiel (and given to me by no other than Chandler Burr) before Harry and Laura Slatkin sold the company to Limited Brands in 2005 (which also owns Henri Bendel, Victoria’s Secret, and Bath & Body Works). Since then, Harry Slatkin has continued to develop Slatkin & Co. candles, with a range designed exclusively for Bath & Body Works, while Laura started Nest Candles in 2009. About four months ago in a conversation with Nest executive Tim Rossi he hinted that Nest would be entering the fine fragrance market soon.
According to Women’s Wear Daily there are three perfumes in the Nest Fine Fragrance collection: Amazon Lily, a blend of lilies, Brazilian lime, tangerine, bergamot and driftwood; Midnight Fleur, infused with exotic woods, patchouli, black amber, night-blooming jasmine and vanilla orchid, and Passiflora, which features passion flower, hyacinth, lily of the valley and an “overdose of green notes,” said Slatkin of her personal favorite in the range. Each eau de parfum will retail for $115 and will be available in Mid-September exclusively at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman.
Perfumer Christophe Laudamiel created Amazon Lily and Passiflora, while Jerome Epinette of Robertet composed Midnight Fleur
Maybe they will bring Absinthe back?
