Viktoria Minya
In 2013 Hungarian Perfumer Viktoria Minya introduced a singular perfume –Hedonist. It lived up to its name as the scent was one of the most sensual and intoxicating new perfumes I had encountered that year and I have gone through a bottle.
Parfums Viktoria Minya Hedonist, Hedonist Rose and Hedonist Iris
At Pitti Fragranze 2014, Viktoria debuted three new perfumes; two are extensions of the original Hedonist –Iris with notes of bergamot, pink pepper, blackcurrant, iris, cedarwood, cocoa, labdanum, musk and Hedonist Rose which is composed with notes of Lemon, clove, peach, rose, amber, musk, vanilla, and "a cold glass of wine". Hedonist Iris and Rose are contained in the signature stunning flacons filled with hundreds of Bohemian crystals. Both are available in 45ml 155 Euros
The third new fragrance, Eau de Hongrie is the one that fascinates me. Viktoria was inspired by Eau de la Reine de Hongrie (The Queen Hungary’s Water) while still in perfumery school. The original Eau de la Reine de Hongrie is steeped in legend dating back to Medieval Times around the early 1300s. The perfume was believed to possess secret ingredients that restored youth and beauty to the wearer and when the aging Elisabeth wore it, the Polish king fell in love and married her. Viktoria Minya uses a very unusual ingredient in Eau de Hongrie; Hungary’s world class wine the Tokaji Aszú ( Tokaji Essence ) which is said to have a delicious flavor and medicinal benefits. Eau de Hongrie is presented within a finely designed bottle, an ode to Tokaji wines and is enclosed within a handmade wooden box recalling Viktoria Minya's signature packaging. Eau de Hongrie notes: lemon, grapefruit, clove, jasmine, honey, sandalwood, immortelle, labdanum, musk, tonka bean and Tokaji Aszu wine and is available in 100ml for 120 Euros. To order check out Viktoria's site or Luckyscent
Since I am not getting any younger, please pass me the Eau de Hongrie
