New Fragrance: Taken by Jane Booke “Designing Woman”

The promise of a great  vanilla fragrance always gets my attention; add an entrepeneurial  and indie fashion designer whose  creations are known for their fabulous vintage vibe and have been spotted on A listers like Angelia Jolie, Vivica Fox, Sophia Loren, Raquel Welch, Nicole Kidman and, most recently, on Portia DoubleDay, who was featured on the cover of Nylon magazine's Young Hollywood edition and you have this fashionista perfumista's possible  sweet dream  fragrance(at  the very least I was Taken by the promise of a indie scent to love).

 

When Los-Angeles based fashion designer Jane Booke became inspired to create a signature scent to wear in her everyday life, little did she know that it would become one of her newly coveted creations. “I was followed by people wanting to know what perfume I was wearing,” Jane says. “One man even followed me into several stores and a café to find out what perfume it was and where he can get it for his wife. That day, I started the process of making my perfume"

Jane’s debut fragrance TAKEN is a luscious blend fit for the ultimate vanilla lover.  Notes include a fruity blend of mango, peach and bergamot orange, with subtle hints of jasmine and muguet. Base notes include various vanillas and patchouli blends.

    Jane is gorgeous! I belive that any man would follow her in cafes! The fact that her beasuty extends through perfume to speak to others in a stimulating awy is alll the better. When beutiful people smell good all is right int the world:)

    Thanks for profiling independent perfume artist. With IFRA restrictions on perfume materials, independents are becoming more important.
    This perfume sounds lovely, i like perfumes with a judicious peach note

    Ah….vanilla: such a comfort scent to me. Most of my favorites have vanilla in the base but this one sounds like an uber-vanilla that I would adore, especially as the weather gets dreary and cold here in the Northeast.

    Taken includes all of my favourite ingredients and I’d loooove to try this one!

    Also, until recently, I thought IFRA restrictions included the indies, so thank you for that clarification! The big releases all smell somewhat the same to me. 🙂
