New Fragrance: Serge Lutens L’Orpheline (2014)

serge lutens l'orpheline perfume

Elisabeth de Feydeau, interviewed Serge Lutens about his new perfume L'Orpheline -The Orphan.  It is a very interesting post.    I do not have notes for the new fragrance but incense and musk is listed on Serge Lutens Facebook site. I am going to guess carnation will be in it as well. If this helps, on Sergelutens.com the caption appears:Friable mais entière. A demi-mot, son nom se fêle. Avant la brisure, les deux premières syllabes portent le nom du poète qui même pouvait charmer les pierres.Serge Lutens (Friable but whole. Implied his name cracked. Before the break, the first two syllables are named after the poet who could charm even the stones.Serge Lutens)

Serge Lutens L'Orpheline is available now in Paris at the Palais Royal – Serge Lutens; 50 ml Eau de Parfum €99 and is available on their site. It is an export, not bell jar perfume and will be available at retailers worldwide in September.

There will be another fragrance released Serge Lutens – L'Incendiaire, which translated from the French means The Arsonist.  I will update this post when I have more information.

  • I think almost anything Serge Lutens puts out is worth sniffing. I can’t wait for the worldwide release.

  • friable but whole. oh dear. 😀 and ok, before the brisure it’s orpheus, but after? what’s the -line? something shimmering like musk? interesting purple prose at any rate. ad yes, like any lutens, i’ll try it (i counted them recently, and i have 12 !!! bottles of different lutens fragrances. definitely the house i love the most.)

  • Cynthia Richardson says:

    “Fragile but whole.
Its name hints at a break but before the fissures show, its first two syllable conjure Orpheus, a poet who could charm even stones.”
    Can’t wait to try it.

  • Fazal Cheema says:

always wait for Lutens releases…trying to acquire Profundis for a while even though it has been few years since its release
