One of the most prolific perfume houses is Laurice Rahme’s Bond No. 9. The abundance of Bond No. 9 fragrances means there is one that should appeal to every perfumista. There are certainly fragrances amongst the collection that I believe have attained “new classic” status. The number of choices can make it tough for a newcomer to the line to know where to start. My best advice when asked about where to start is to ask to try the fragrances that have Andy Warhol in their name. There have been five Andy Warhol fragrances released and the first one, Andy Warhol Silver Factory, is one of those “new classics” I was speaking of earlier. It is one of the shining stars of the entire Bond No. 9 universe. Because of the ongoing quality of this Andy Warhol series these are my most anticipated releases from Bond No. 9.
On December 1st the sixth Andy Warhol fragrance Andy Warhol by Bond No. 9 will be released. This new fragrance is closest in character to Success Is A Job In New York. It shares much of the warmth of that fragrance but it has a fruity zip provided by peach and plum all surrounded by spicy woods. This makes it an ideal fragrance for colder weather.
Andy Warhol starts with that peach note and it is very lively. Peach is not often one of my favorite notes because it usually just sits there being sweet and fruity. The peach here has more pop to it than I expect. The choice of adding a spicy rose to go with it makes this a singular fruity floral opening. From there a drop of honey, a pinch of patchouli, and a ration of resins make up the heart of Andy Warhol. This group of notes turns the warmth up and adds depth. The base is softly sensuous amber and sweet sandalwood, those are standard finishers to many fragrances but there is one more note that makes that familiarity very interesting. The listed note is called mulled plum and how it smells on my skin is as a rich mélange of nutmeg, clove and dried plum. It adds intensity to the final part of Andy Warhol’s development that really made a very good fragrance into something special for me.
Andy Warhol by Bond No. 9 has outstanding longevity and above average sillage.
As I said at the outset the Andy Warhol collection is an outstanding subset of the entire Bond No. 9 collection. Andy Warhol by Bond No. 9 only increases my admiration of this group of fragrances.

Editor's Note: Mark and I don't usually agree on many fragrances, but we do on Andy Warhol. Andy Warhol's Debbie Harry painting circa 1980 (aka Blondie) just sold for 13 million USD at Sotheby's
1980 was the year Debbie Harrie's Rapture was released and was one of the first rap songs to crossover. Rapture pretty much sums the scent up for me.
