New Fragrance: Parfums MCDI Chypre Palatin by Bertrand Duchaufour

Phote: Luckyscent

Parfums MCDI is one of the truly independent niche houses and is based in Paris, France. Claude Marchal is the owner and founder and has consistently introduced fragrances of the highest quality, using some of the world's greatest noses including Pierre Bourdon, Francis Kurkdjian and Patricia De Nicolai. Several months ago M. Marchal told us that the next perfume would be an oriental chypre by Bertrand Duchaufour (who created their last fragrance La Belle Helene).

The notes for Chypre Palatin include hyacinth, clementine, aldehydes, cistus essence, galbanum, thyme, lavender, rose, jasmine, iris concrète, prune, gardenia, benzoin, styrax, leather, vanilla, tolu, castoreum, costus, oakmoss and immortelle.

Parfums MDCI Chypre Palatin is available in the USA at Luckyscent (60 ml Eau de Parfum $250 or in the Renaissance inspired bust edition for $375).

  • I finally broke down and bought a bottle of MDCI Un Coeur en Mai 2 weeks ago and let me tell you: it was worth every penny! MDCI frags are so well done! This is the 1st time I’ve ever bought such an expensive frag, but they have such high quality ingredients, are so long lasting on skin, have such great sillage… and MDCI has the best customer service.

I really can’t recommend them enough!

I haven’t been able to try La Belle Helene yet and now want to buy another sample set so that I can try both of these!
