New Fragrance: Huitième Art Aqaysos (Pierre Guillaume) 2017 ~Crystalline Wood

The inspiration for Aqaysos, [a-kwa-i-zos], Pierre Guillaume’s newest addition to the Huitième  Art  collection, is the penetrating, multi-faceted and brilliant character of crystal. “Pierre Guillaume plays resonances between the ingredients, to distort our perception as a prism diffracts the light … Between fluidity, transparency and sensorial impact; Aqaysos is an explosion of rising and fruity notes, on the rhythmic pulsations of a woody vibration. The perfume opens with a duo of lime and bergamot, whose explosive fresh notes blend in an organic and metallic duality with the aromatic accents of coriander.  The sansho berry, which fusing notes evoke pepper and lemon, give a crystalline spicy aspect to the fruity sweetness of blackcurrant. In the dry-down, the bitter wood character of cocoa beans, as an ultimate olfactory illusion, plays a contrast between clean and dirty with a blend of woods and a cocktail of white and animalic musks.”

Notes: Lime, Coriander, Black Currant, Sansho Berry, Woods, Musks, Cocoa beans

M. Guillaume introduces a new flacon as well. In addition to the classic Cyclops ( upper left) flacon, the line offers “the shadow bottle” which is a blend of colored glass and ceramic.

50 ml/Cyclops 110€ and 100 ml/ 160€

50 ml/standard (shadow) 98€ and 100ml 146 €

  • Woah… this fragrance is so interesting. Something created from the idea of crystal sounds stunning! I would love to try this out. I am really interested in that citrus duo of Bergamot and lime!!! Sounds right up my ally

  • Sounds really intriguing. Love anything with cocoa. Loving their new bottle design as well. Will have to get my nose on this.

  • I wonder if the Cyclops bottle is too expensive. I love it (including Monsieur), in your own hands it is a beauty of touch and feel, the cap sits perfectly.
