Tuberose has enjoyed the reputation of being the seductress of the flower world for centuries. During the Renaissance, young ladies were forbidden to walk through the gardens at night because the alluring scent of tuberose was an intense aphrodisiac.  In the 19th century, women put some fresh tuberose under their dresses to attract men.

In her first new perfume since 2011 Royal Lotus (created for the Natural Perfumer’s Brave New Scents Internet Project), according to Anya McCoy of Anya’s Gardens, “In all my research over the years, I have never seen a flower given such incredible powers in aiding seduction”.

  • I love Anya and can’t wait to see what she does with the alluring, seductive tuberose!

I was born and raised on tuberose and am thrilled to pieces to know Anya made this perfume! In Indonesia it is called “sedap malam” which translates “delicious evening”. Walk into any decent hotel in Bali and the first thing that greets you is a huge vase of tuberose stems in the lobby. Sets the tone. I attended the wedding of a Javanese princess whose wedding chambers were decorated overflowing with tuberose and jasmine. Hooray for you Anya!

additional info: I am in New York now and this perfume will no doubt help with the homesickness
