Amouage Bracken is the newest fragrance in Creative Director Christopher Chong’s Midnight Flowers Collection, which also includes one of my favorite perfumes of 2014 Amouage Sunshine Woman. Bracken is a collaboration with Master perfumers Olivier Cresp and Fabrice Pellegrin of Firmenich.
According to Christopher Chong in an exclusive quote for ÇaFleureBon, he took his inspiration from the hippie culture of the late 60s and early 70s. The new fougère is inspired and named after Bracken, one of the oldest and most resilient ferns in history."Unveiling an aromatic freshness, the fragrance begins with vibrant top notes of Lavandin, Nutmeg, and Clove. With a spectrum of light caressing the woods, both Lemon and Bergamot open this fragrance by blanketing a sensation of brightness over wet earth. Geranium, Cinnamon, Cedar wood and Sandalwood come together to seduce the earthy character of Musk and Patchouli in the base, an aura of which lends a retro touch” The flacon picks up on the motif with gold foil illustrations of a fern leaf surrounded with swirling vines and the white cap is accented with a peridot Swarovski crystal.
I love the box. The retro –“Etro-esque” paisley is a departure for Amouage with removable inserts and is meant to store mementos and jewelry.
