Maison Martin Margiela’s “Untitled Fragrance”: Debuts at Saks USA April 2011

Maison Martin Margiela’s “Untitled”: The label’s first fragrance launched in Europe is finally coming stateside, and will be available exclusively at Saks for a year, starting this April 2011.

Claudia Kroyer chose it as one of her favorite fragrances for Spring !

According to Claudia , " I tremendously enjoy and wear often Untitled by Maison Martin Margiela. The composition is created of Boxwood, Galbanum, Bitter Orange, Incense, Jasmine, Cedar and Musk. The fragrance reinterprets aromas of greenery after rain. Perfumer is Daniela Andrier. It’s a lovely fresh fragrance and always fits the bill when I want to wear a green fragrance".

A representative for the House told WWD: “The unique nature of this scent–it is a very different juice–has the capacity to build loyalty. It is so unusual that it is difficult to move on to another scent.”  I have never smelled this so I am eagerly awaiting its arrival, and  according to sources: ostrich feathers will be used in  the display.  No word yet about its retail price.

Now that is what i call fabulous news……..welcome to the US Maison Martin Margiela "Untitled" i love the way you scent my skin. You will be in my collection forever 🙂

  • Always good when something's available without 'mules' or shipping from Europe.
I wanted to test this asap when it was launched and kept a vial but swapped my decant away because for some reason I get  a very odd, almost "ashtray" type of smell from it. I wanted to love it. I wonder if it would ever grow on me — I want to get what Claudia gets. At least there's plenty of perfume in the world, and it's good that we don't all love the same things!

  • yeah, what Joe says—I want to get what Claudia gets!  ….and since i haven't tried it yet, I just might!  It just makes no sense for any fragrance to not be available in the USA almost immediately upon release —-what an incredible market this is! why would anyone eschew it?

  • Ruth, I think one of the things is that if you're a small house (especially if your main business isn't perfume), think of the amount you'd need to produce to make enough stock even if it's a Saks exclusive or something. I can see the ramping up business model, and glad that this product is finally able to do it.
I'd offer to send you some if I had kept more than one tiny vial for reference. 🙁

  • no worries…samples find their way to me….eventually.   Gotta love perfumistas, right?
ah, but if I were a small indie house….why not contact a place like Indiescents and make yourself known? Or open a small website?   I need for these people to make a bigger effort to get their perfumes where I ….er , I mean , us Americans….can get them!
