There is an old proverb that says “good things come to those who wait”. After three years of patience (Thé Noir 29 was the last offering in 2015), Le Labo fans have something to celebrate. For the new Le Labo Tonka 25, the company has enlisted Daphne Bugey of Firmenich who has  collaborated  with  Creative Directors Fabrice Penot and Edouard Roschi since they founded the company in  2006 (our Modern Masterpiece Le Labo Rose 31 (2006), Bergamote 22 (2006), Neroli 36 (2006) and Lys 41 (2013).

Le Labo Tonka 25 ingredients

According to co-founder Edouard Roschi about the new Le Labo Tonka 25 “We wanted to work around Cedar Atlas and make this ingredient, a favorite of ours, emerge over time. Tonka felt like a good partner in embracing this wood with a dark and sensuous embrace… This one is dark. A good, addictive, warm dark, as if the humid summer underwoods, their seeds and resins, were sprinkled with layers of musks and sweetened with drops of vanilla. The perfumer’s notes say orange flower absolute, the unique cedar atlas, styrax resins, absolute tonka and musks… We say Le Labo Tonka 25.”

Le Labo Tonka 25 is the 17th fragrance for the company and will be in the Classic Collection (no scent mules to exotic cities required)

Available at Le Labo boutiques, online at select stockists  and  widely available wherever Le Labo is sold as of October 15th.

Size: 100ml / 50ml / 15ml/Price: 270 USD / 184 USD / 80 USD

Are you looking forward to Le Labo Tonka 25?

  • I love cedar and Tonka
It should be interesting isn’t this the first since they went to Lauder
    I own rose 31

  • I am VERY excited for this one. There isn’t a note listed in the release that I don’t love, Cedar Atlas especially! Thanks for letting us know about it!

  • I own Rose and Tea, so this is definitely on the list of testers to get. Yesyes, can’t wait.

  • Just Add Light says:

This looks like an absolute cracker! As a layering piece – fantastic, but as a stand alone, even better. A super sexy bedroom scent. Oh baby…

  • Oh yay, no “scent mules to exotic cities required 😉 I’m certain that the Tonka entices the Cedar to expose it’s finer less appreciated self.

  • Cedar is always tricky on my skin – sometimes it works well and other times it’s too strong and insistent. If this is the good kind for me, it sounds like it could be really great!

  • Monica Beaton says:

This fragrance sounds interesting, but I too worry what will happen with this innovative line now that it has been acquired by Lauder. Cedar Atlas, from the notes listed, would be wonderful – balancing the sharpness of cedar with vanilla and tonka, and the brightness of orange flower. This absolutely sounds like something I would wear and can’t wait to sample.

  • Need to sample! I’m a very late comer to a love affair with tonka and it’s just so perfect and dreamy for this season!
