L’Artisan Parfumeur Re-Releases Jour De Fete Perfume in Spring 2014

JourdeFete

Earlier this year, when speaking with Nick Steward the Creative Director of L'Artisan Parfumeur, one of the questions I asked him was why so many classic and adored L'Artisan Parfumeur perfumes were being discontinued. His answer was to make way for the new. Yet the Company has a rich history which they will not abandon dating back from Jean Laporte and is sympathetic to those who loved past fragrances. Each year discontinued L'Artisan Parfumeur fragrances are brought back as a limited edition. For 2014, Jour de Fete, composed by Olivia Giacobetti in 2003 will be available once more. Jour de Fete  means Festival Day in French and it is an ode to the sweet confection known as "la dragee" and  contains notes of  almond, iris, wheat and vanilla.

Available  March 2014 at www.lartisanparfumeur.com and select stockists

 100 ml/ $105 USD

With all the "noirs" and "ouds" that represented so much of 2013, it will be nice to bring back a bright, innocent fragrance in the New Year.

-Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

Editor's Note: L'Artisan will be celebrating the anniversary of two of its most iconic fragrances in 2014, more information coming soon

  • Almond and vanilla. Sounds yummy!

It’s like women’s gourmand or something.

But L’Artisan is known for their strange direction. And they’re actually good at it. I’m saying this could be earthy-woody almond + vanilla combo with dry wheat note and earthy iris. slightly sweetened or something.

I’ve never smell this one before. And never heard of it before.

This is interesting to know. Great news!

  • Its a beauty, I used to own this and used it all the time, shared some with my mom and I think I will definitely need this when it comes out again 🙂

  • Giocobetti is one of my favorite perfumers. I’ve been watching ebay for a bottle of Jour De Fete without any luck, so this is great news!

Sorry to be a party pooper, but this whole ordeal with discontinuing and re-releasing makes me think of drastic reformulations. I would love to be proven wrong on this though.

I will certainly try this one. Since I didn’t know it in its previous incarnation, I won’t know if it was reformulated, but I would like to think that it might be the same as before. But then, I still believe that someone somewhere is going to release a scent that smells just like vintage Opium! Santa Claus thinking indeed.

    isn’t that the truth!

  • I’m no fan of gourmands, but this sounds heavenly and I might have to nab a sample of this to see if it is full bottle-worthy. 🙂
