Anees Folles is the newest of the four splendidly architectural and stylish fragrances from the niche house  La Parfumerie Moderne, founded by Philippe Neirinck who debuted three fragrances at Esxence -The Scent of Excellence in March of 2014. He has worked closely with the enigmatic Marc-Antoine Corticchiato, the Corsican-born nose behind the sultry and imaginative fragrances for Parfum d’Empires.  The other three perfumes in the collection are the intensely luscious lilac laced Désarmant, a leather entitled Cuir X and the oddly named No Sport. The sleek, deco style bottles are made of coloured glass, which while adding to their undeniable allure, also protects the juice inside. I had the pleasure of meeting Phillipe in 2014 in NYC  for lunch and was incredibly impressed by his vision, taking it slowly with meticulous care to deatil and of course his choice of perfumer. Now Contributor Sebastian Jara, known for his YouTube Channel  Looking Feeling Smelling Great,  and  the popular Facebook Group reviews Années Folles which was created in 2015, once again by Marc-Antoine Corticchiato and was inspired by the roaring 20s, music and an elegant villa overlooking the Mediterranean formerly owned by F. Scott Fitzgerald -Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief

Fantastic review from Sebastian. I’m a beginner fragrance collector and have grown to love fougere fragrances my favorite being Prada Amber Pour Homme and I’m very curious to find out how this one smells. I loved how he described the lavender note in this and how it is a masculine lavender. Greetings from Minnesota, US.

  • I’m not familiar with La Parfumerie Moderne and to be sincere this is the first time I heard about the La Parfumerie Moderne brand. The fragrance sounds really nice and the way Sebastian describes the fragrance instigates us to try Années Folles. I like most lavender dominate fragrance and the notes that this fragrances combines with lavender like tonka bean, patchouli and besoin combines sounds very classic fougère.
Thanks for the draw. I live in the USA.

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews! His description of this fragrance sounds delightful. I love that it has an ambery feel to it, in addition to the clean, dry lavender notes. I am now following La Parfumerie Moderne on Instagram. I’d like to explore the rest of their line.
    I live in the U.S.

  • It seems fougere category is coming back even though I never thought it will happen again. I have known about this brand before and I think Annees Folles will turn out to be one of the best from the line because Marc Antoine has created it. It has lavendar and amber and Marc has cleverly used these ingredients in perfumes under his own brand as well. My favorite from the line is Cuir X. thanks a lot for the draw. I am in the US.

  • Lavender with a powdery, ambery drydown sounds pretty wonderful. I knew nothing about La Perfumerie Moderne, but after clicking on the review of Désarmant, which I must have missed, I will definitely be tracking down samples. I’m in the US.

  • I have not yet had the pleasure to smell any fragrances by the house of La Parfumerie Moderne, however I certainly hope to! Lavender is one of my favorite notes in fragrance and this one is so enticing! I enjoy that Sebastian mentions how this perfume blends old school perfumery with modern scent, the roaring 20’s and all! I live in Tucson, AZ.

  • Sebastian is a great reviewer. he keeps things short and to the point. I really liked the sound of Annees Folles, a re-interpretation of the timeless genre that is the Fougere. I would love to win this fragrance. I live in the Netherlands, EU.

  • I have never tried any of La Parfumerie Moderne, but Sebastian’s YouTube review was very enjoyable like always. I suppose, that it is a very nice fragrance. Thank you for the draw. I live in Europe.

  • Excellent review as always. I have been dying to try Cuir X to see what kind of twist it has compared to Ottoman. This fragrance sounds like it is right in my wheel house and I cant wait to try it.

  • I always enjoy how Sebastian describes the scents. Masculine lavender is intriguing. My only experience so far with the house is No Sport, and that is a nice fragrance as well. I would love to try more from this house.

  • I always like Sebastian’s reviews and this is no exception I also like lavender frags and annes Folles sounds really special with the Amber and skin scent Drydown
I haven’t tried any from La Parfumerie Moderne but I will order samples from Twisted Lily

Thanks for the draw. I live in Europe.

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews. I would love to try this take on aromatic Lavender. The supporting notes make it sound amazing. I’m in the US and thanks for this giveaway.

  • What I like the most about Sebastian’s review is his opinion on fragrances because they 85% of the time are comparable to my opinions, I feel like we have the same taste in fragrances. I do not have any connection to this house but would love to step into. I live in California, USA….. Cheers!

  • Another great review by Sebastian. I’m a big fan of anything he reviews. He puts a ton of time and energy into it and we all appreciate it. I have not heard about this house, but the fragrance does interest me. Hopefully I can get lucky haha. I’m in Canada and thanks for the draw!

  • I hadn’t heard about this release before but now I can’t wait. I liked Sebastian’s description of the lavender overload from start to finish–but more than just that, I’m excited to see (or smell?) how it develops along with the variety of other notes from geranium to vetiver to tonka bean to patchouli. To me, this reads like a fun fougere and I hope the title delivers on the promise of excitement in a bottle.

I’ve tried all of the previous releases of LPM, and gotten a bottle of Desarmant because I could not resist the lilacs. I’d love to try Annees Folles!

    I’m in the US.

  • Sebastian’s reviews have led me to try several fragrances and fragrance houses so why should this house be any different 🙂 I’ve seen a review but haven’t tried Cuir X. So that and now this review are my only experiences with this house. I’m in the USA and thanks as always for your generous giveaways.

  • Great review Sebastian! I want to travel back to the 20’s even if it’s only through this perfume!Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to try anything from LPMyet. I am in the UK

  • Great review. I’m intrigued! I love lavender in everything but perfume. Someday I think I’ll find a wearable lavender – could this be it? Sebastian describing it as “amber-y” makes me this it’s possible. I’ve not heard of this line. The bottle is gorgeous! In the US

  • Wondefrul review! I love the combination of lavender with patchouli in this one. I never smelled anything from the line.
Thank you for the draw! I live in Italy

  • I live in the US and have never heard of La Parfumerie Moderne before this review. The bottle is beautiful and Sebastian makes the fragrance inside seem so too. I love lavender which is known for it’s soothing properties and Sebastian conveyed that as well with his soft tone in parts of his review. I would love to try Annees Folles, thank you for the chance!

  • Great looking bottle and review by Sebastian. I have no lavender fragrances in my collection because I thought it was kinda feminine but if Sebastian suggests it’s a masculine lavender than it’s a must try for me. I appears the bottle color matches the lavender colors so it must look great on shelves. I have not even seen or heard of the brand but will be on the lookout in the future. Mahalo from HI.

  • I think the combination of lavender and patchouli sounds divine, I would love to win in order to try this! Thanks Sebastian and Cafleurebon

  • I’m a fragrance fanatic partly due to watching Sebastian videos. I would love to win this in order to experience this wonderful scent! Thanks all.

  • Great review Sebastian. I love how you describe the fragrance it’s very simple in a way we can easily understand. The fragrances sounds a awesome lavender fragrance, that I typically love. I will try this fragrance when I get the opportunity however this is would be my first experience with this brand.

  • Parfummaniac says:

Great review and so passionate told by Sebastiane. I have tried several lavender fragrances and all are so different. Comparing seems impossible, but like Sebastiane says: a classic in a modern version. Yes I love to try this one!
    I am from the Netherlands

  • Another discovery by Sebastian. I love lavender and weather masculine or feminine all lavender makes me happy. Never had the chance to smell anything from this line. Thanks. From the US

  • This is the first time I am being informed about La Parfumerie Moderne.
Annes Folles fragrance must smell divine for I love lavender with a powdery, ambery dry down!
I loved the colored glass bottles with the heavy caps, very artistic!
Great review! Thank you Sebastian for introducing to us this new perfume House!
I am a registered reader living in EU, Greece.
Thank you for the lovely review and draw!

  • Sebastian mentions lavender, tonka beans and patchouli. He hot me at lavender and tonka beans even it he said in the review that is the masculine type of lavender. I always love how Sebastian is creative and sincere.

I hope I will be lucky to try any of La Parfumerie Moderne creations.

I am a reader from the EU.

Thank you very much! Wish you all the best!

  • Great job Sebastian. He does very good at describing fragrances and the notes that most stand out. I have not had the experience to try any fragrances from this house.

I’m a Canadian reader and thank you very much for the draw.

  • Sebastian is amazing & helpful as ever! I love Art Deco, The Great Gatsby & lavender so this sounds right up my alley! Very excited to be introduced to this fragrance!

  • A masculine, roaring 20s lavender?! Sounds like the perfect counterpart to my latest treasure, Vero Profumo Kiki! I appreciate that Sebastian showed off the bottle and acknowledged the brand’s aesthetic towards the beginning of the video: a nice presentation makes a fragrance that much more covetable. I’ve never heard of this line before but I’m glad I heard about it here. I’m in the US, thanks for the draw!

  • Thanks for the draw. Agree completely with Sebastian that this is more of a masculine fragrance, but that could be worn by women. It really is an incredible perfume and would love to have a full bottle. Thanks again. I am in the U.S.

  • Thanks for introducing me to a new scent and a new house, Sebastian! I’ve not heard of La Parfumerie Moderne before, but I like the sound of this 20s throwback fragrance. I love lavender in scents (no matter how masculine), and this one sounds delicious – plus the crisp, clean design of the bottle is lovely! I’m in the US and would love to try it.

  • I love how Sebastian explains how Lavender is both masculine and feminine. This is very important becasue it took me a long time to warm up to this idea. I always assumed florals were for women…including lavender. However after watching Sebastians channel I realized how many fragrances I was missing out on and how masculine lavender fragrances can be. I love how he easily describes the fragrance and the feelings it can evoke. This review really makes me want to try this wonderful sounding fragrance. And the bottle looks superb as well!!!
I live in Canada so this would be a great opportunity to get a fragrance that I don’t have available to me.

    Thanks for the contest

  • Suvirnath says:

  • Cortichiato is one of my favorite perfumers (Ambre Russe being a fave, Cuir X my favorite suede); La Perfumerie is great to work / order directly with. Amber has been a renaissance mission lately, yes? Would love another one of Cortichiato’s works of mastered Mediterrean understatement. I live in US.
