Esxence 2018: Nishane B-612~ New Perfume Review + Welcome to Le Petit Prince’s Asteroid Draw

Creative Directors Murat Kutran and Mert Gurzel of Nishane Photo: Steven

While team CaFleureBon was at Esxence 2018, one of the fragrances that impressed us was Nishane B-612, which was inspired by the iconic book written by Antoine de St. Exupery. According to the novella, Asteroid B-612 was first discovered by a Turkish Astronomer and Nishane is after all the first Turkish fine fragrance house and I had the pleasure of meeting (discovering) Creative Directors Murat Kutran and Mert Gurzel in 2015 at Esxence in Milano.  Sr Editor Lauryn Beer touched on  Nishane B-612 in her Esxence 2018 Best of Show report. Nishane B612 is true to the DNA of the Nishane (Nih-SHAN-Ay) an elegant Extrait de Parfum. It is a unique and luxurious, a woody-aromatic- fougere of the highest quality. Chris Maurice is the perfumer (you might recognize his name from his work with Xerjoff). Creative Director Murat Kutran appeared in Sebastian’s recent Esxence video compilation and gave us some insight into the creation of Nishane B-612.

Loved Sebastian take on the B-612. The Saint-Exupery book exudes naivité and the fragrance sounds just my kind of scent. Maybe I’m wrong but I got a slight barbershop vibe from the note breakdown. I have not experienced this house yet, but would love to in the future. Portugal

  • Just watched Sebastian’s review. Always enjoy his videos. I really would like to try this House out and this one sounds like a God’s fougère. Thanks for this giveaway. California.

  • João Lima says:

From Sebastian’s review, this fragrance sounds to be the next big thing in the fougere type of scents. And it’s funny because today I ordered my very first full bottle of Nishane: Fan Your Flames. A fantastic tropical tobacco scent! Would love to add B-612 to my collection! Thank you for this generous giveaway.
    Lisbon, Portugal

  • I have always enjoyed Sebastian’s fragrance opinions. Articulate with significant fragrance experience. As for the Nishane giveaway. Honestly it would be a treat to receive a high quality niche fragrance without the accompanying cost(since we are being honest!!) An olfactory treat!
    Regards,
    Stephen

  • Just Add Light says:

I’ve never smelled a single Nishane, which is a shame considering everything I’ve read about them. In short, they all look amazing! I really like how Sebastian describes its “sparkly” quality, since I’m a huge fan of uplifting and elegant perfumes that utilize those accords including Moschino’s Uomo and Remarkable People by ELDO. In a sense, they could almost be described as “bubbly” and are immediately recognizable to my nose. The short cut to Murat Katran was also a great touch! Canada / NC.

  • Sebastian review was great as always and this juice must be awesome, i would love to try that. I live in the EU, thanks for the draw.

  • Awesome reveiw as always, Sebasitan! This one really intreagued me – seems like fougeres is the next “new” thing! Would love to try this! Thanks to Sebastian, Nishane and Cafleurebon for making this giveway happen!

    Greetings from Norway!

  • Man, the heart (of many woods) sounds really deep and rich. Nature at it finest. As if the forest wore a tuxedo.
Crossing my fingers on this one. Thanks again Sebastion for this great review!!
    U.S.A.

  • Enjoyed the review. I have a thing for fougeres right now but have yet not tried anything from Nishane. Would really love to try B-612.

  • Its a pleasure to watch sebastian talking. Honest as always. I only know Fan Your Flames and Musiqa Oud from Nishane. I would like to try this one.

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. His style of reviewing makes me want to run out and buy whatever he reviews! I’ve never tried anything from Nishane but this fragrance sounds so nice- earthy and woody. Would love to try a sample.
I live in the U.S (Pennsylvania)

  • Thanks for the draw! B-612 sounds quite amazing! I really enjoyed hearing Sebastian describe the notes so descriptively. I have yet to sample anything by Nishane, but I’ve heard and read lots of good things about the House. Im in the U.S.

  • Cologniano says:

Great thorough review by Sebastian as usual. Very in depth. I love Nishane fragrances. Most notably my new King, Hacivat. I also love and own Fan Your Flames, Suede et Safran, and my newest Boszporusz. I would be so grateful winning this. Thank you for the giveaway. Atlanta, GA

  • doowtnehpets says:

Sebastian always has good descriptions of the fragrances, best part. Never tried any Nishane fragrances. Live in Albuquerque NM USA

  • Thank you Cafleurebon and Nishane for a fantastic giveaway and for Sebastian for sharing such a great review.

I absolutely love the Nishane house, I recently bought the Ambra Calabria and I’m looking forward to try the B-612. I would love to see a review ion Ambra Calabria as well. It’s such a great fragrance. Unfortunately, it’s not being talked about much.

  • David Smith says:

I’ve wanted to get my nose on something from Nishane. I love Fougere and this one sounds great!

  • Armin Figo Dante says:

this one will be a nice niche scent for sure no doubt about it, cause its nishane, thanks for this ww giveaway, appreciate it so much, im in for this giveaway, USA here.

  • Sebastian is very experienced reviewer. He tries so many of different fragrances and I totally trust his nose. I like that this is a different take on fougere type of genre. I have never tried any frothat house before. Thank you for a giveaway!

  • fazalcheema says:

I recognized from notes before Sebastian mentioned that this seems like a fougere creation. Sebastian says it is sparkling and we also get beautiful notes like sandalwood because Sebastian says all notes are noticeable. Nishane B-612 has been inspired by Le Petit Prince and it is a coincidence i was looking at another product today that has been inspired by the same story. My favorite from Nishane is Hacivat. I am in US>

  • Thanks to Sebastian again for his informative review! Nishane B-612 as a fougere sounds to be a refreshing hit. I have not tried any from this house as of yet… I do live in the USA…

  • I think Sebastian’s description of it being a luxurious fougere sounds very interesting. I haven’t tried any other Nishane. US.

  • Eric I Diedrichson says:

Thanks for the opportunity to win this great fragrance. I love all Sebastian reviews

  • Hikmat Sher Afridi says:

High quality, top notch & luxurious….sounds awesome. Thanks for the detail description & video. The notes are appealing. Nishane perfume house delivers & every penny worth as their fragrances are one of the best of the best. My favorite is Nishane Afrika Olifant.
Thanks for the opportunity & draw, count me in please. Pakistan

  • BostonScentGuy says:

This sounds great! I’m a sucker for any fougere, especially a classy modern fougere. Love the emphasis on high quality ingredients Sebastian mentions, as well as how he discusses the emphasis on Tonka, musk, and oakmoss in the drydown. I like the animalic “Afrikaa Olifant” but haven’t had too much exposure to other Nishane scents. Thanks for the draw! I’m in the US.

  • Ketevan chokheli says:

  • Gabriel Gallawa says:

I just enjoy Sebastian’s reviews so much. So well prepared and executed. I live in Montana and have never smelled any Nishane as Niche fragrances don’t exist here but we love the Little Prince in our house and would love to have a fragrance inspired by such a great story.

  • 50footRingo says:

Greetings from Canada. Haven’t had the opportunity to try anything from Nishane unfortunately. Sebastian is an excellent reviewer, always love hearing his thoughts on a fragrance.

  • I love Sebastian’s reviews because I get to live vicariously through him! I would love to try some Nishane scents but haven’t yet! I hear they are quite lovely and luxurious. I’m a lavender convert so this sounds particularly interesting and I love the book! Very cute that a Turkish company based a perfume off a Turkish character. I’m in L.A.

  • The Little Prince is my favorite book and seeing Sebastian’s instagram post while he was in Esxense on the two new scents of Nishane inspired by the book made me sooo excited!! And now this giveaway, just amazing!! I love Sebastian’s detailed description of the notes and trying a new fougere scent is exciting! Thanks for this opportunity.

  • Hello, it was good to see the owner of Nishane talk in Sebastian’s video..
I live in London and tried a selection of Nishane perfumes in Fortnum&Mason, I liked Hacivat.

  • I really liked the passion Sebastian exuded during the video. It made watching it so much more interesting and it also made me want this fragrance even more. If I win this, its going to be my very first fragrance from the house. I am from Canada.

  • Sebastian is a fantastic reviewer! He is very thorough about the perfumer, the house, and the fragrance. His videos are very well thought out, and very methodical in a positive way. His love for fragrance always shines through. The note break down, the description of the complexity of the perfume, and the layers all help when considering making a buying derision when not first sampling a perfume. Nishane appears to be a very creative house, and I love the story behind Asteroid B-612 and Vain and Naive regarding the book Le Petit Prince. Chris Maurice is a wonderful perfume even though I have only sampled a few, his work from Sospiro notably Ouverture and his work with Xerjoff notably Alexandria II are fantastic fragrances.

  • “Luxurious and high quality”. No experience with wearing anything from Nishane as of yet. US

  • olleriksson says:

Really liked how there was a review and also a short meet/greet clip from Esxence! Mixing it up is always a nice addition. My favorite from Nishane (of the few I’ve tried) is their amazingly potent Patchouli scent. Would love to win a bottle of B-612! Commenting from Sweden.

  • It may be a bit old fashioned of me, but fougeres are some of my greatest loves in perfumery. This, along with Sebastian’s brilliant delivery have caused my interest to snag on Nishane B-612.

  • Sebastian’s description of Nishane B-612 makes me want to try this fragrance as I love fougeres and am always looking for good ones to add to my collection. I line in Wisconsin, USA. I haven’t tried any Nishane perfumes yet but I’m looking forward to soon. Thanks!

  • Thank you Cafleurebon for this draw.
I will never tire of saying that I like Sebastian reviews.
I like woody- fougere perfumes, all the more so Sebastian said that this perfume ingredients have hight class.
From Nishane I have tested only Hacivant and I like it.

  • Sebastian always does a fantastic job with his descriptions; his passion and knowledge are not only impressive but infectious, as well! Right now Fan Your Flames is my favorite from Nishane, but I’m excited for this new release, too! I’m in Lake Havasu City, AZ/USA. Thanks Cafleurebon!

  • I like his great passion. i’ve never tried any from Nishane so it would be great to win this. i’m from Denmark

  • Marco Ceravolo says:

Hi from Bologna, Italy, and thank you for this draw. What I appreciate most in the video is Mr. Jara’s passion and also the perfect description of the fragrance, in top, middle and bottom notes, very classic for a fougere, a family I really like. Also, I love patchouli and I have Pachulì Kozha.
    ciao ciao! Marco.

  • Caroline Evridge says:

Thanks for this chance to participate in a drawing. I would love to try this fragrance. I am a beginner but think I would love fougere fragrances as I love the smell of a forest. Thank you from Portland, Oregon.

  • I have never tried anything form Nishane. Nishane B-612 sounds very nicely from Sebastian’s review. Thank you for the draw. I live in Europe.

  • As always I enjoyed Sebastian very beautiful and inspirational discription. I like lavender and with patchouli it will be interesting earthy combination.
Really, high quality, luxurious and top notch epithet- sounds awesome.
I’ve tested only one from Nichane and must to try some other fot telling which one I like more from Nishane.

  • DespinaVnt says:

First of all, I loved hearing that there is another beautiful fragrance inspired by a book written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, apart from Guerlain’s Vol De Nuit.
I loved Sebastian’s focus on the top quality ingredients and the sparkly character of this wonderful-sounding fougere.
I’d love to try it on, it woild be my first Nishane perfume, thank you!
    Best from France, EU.

  • Lord Kelwynne says:

Sebastian’s reviews are always a delight. I am not surprised that he went ga-ga over this scent. This sounds like an exquisite fougere. Lavender and oakmoss are personal all-time faves for me.

Nishane has become a fave as well. I own three of their scents. I was wearing Santalove when I watched the clip. I am an exhibiting artist in Istanbul. I am delighted to wear art from that city in my studios,

I am in the US in Pennsylvania. I would truly love to be considered for this draw. Thank you.

  • I enjoyed very much learning about this new fragrance from what I consider to be one of the finest perfume houses.

  • He’s reviews are very informative, in depth and I like how he puts all the passion in reviewing it. I would surely like to smell it upon the way he described it and the quality of the ingredients! Thanks for the draw, I’m in Europe.

  • NiceVULady says:

The Little Prince has great meaning to me personally. Sebastian’s reviews are always so informative and specific, along with his personal opinions. I don’t have a favorite Nishane fragrance and this one sounds like a beauty. Thanks for the draw. I’m in the USA

  • Quang Pham says:

I followed Sebastian’s YouTube channel to get updates on new released, or introductions to new fragrances like in this case. The fact that he said this is a high quality fragrance, and perfect for the coming season wish that I win a bottle. I am from the USA.

  • I dont have any Nishane frags. Of Sebastian’s review, I liked that he made it seem classy and understated. I also love the scent of cypress. I’m in the US

  • Hello! I have never tried any Nishane fragrances, but I would love to. Sebastian brought back many childhood memories with his review and made me really curious about B-612. All the best! I’m from Northern Ireland.

  • I Love Sebastian’s reviews. He always seems so honest – I trust him! He always gives a good feeling of the scents. I would love to try this!
I’m in the US, thanks for the draw!

  • Cludts pierre says:

I love that sebastian is always professional and honest in his reviews. I currently own zenne and hundred silent ways. I am located in Canada. Thank you

  • I always watch every Sebastians video, he always introduces with new brands, new releases, perfumers and their creations. One of the most favorite channel on youtube.
My favorite from Nishane is no doubt Havicat, incredible quality blend, amazing layers, yes it is similar to Aventus, but Havicat is done better and perfected, stunning longevity, when you get such a quality there is no high price for it. I have only Havicat and only had a chance to try Vetiver which was spectacular as I remember. I am really stoked in trying more Nishane creations and B-612 as I am a lover of patchouli and as it gets so much praise from Sebastian.

  • Roger Engelhardt says:

If Sebastian likes it, it must be good!! Love Aromatic fougeres, always have, always will. This is a good line, although I have yet to sample I have read nothing but very positive reviews!
Would love to be considered in the draw.
    CT. USA.

  • What a draw, thank you, Nishane & CaFleureBon!

I’m a huge fan of fougeres, and since Sebastian said that “lavender [in B-612] is big”, I feel it’s a must-try for me.
BTW, thanks for educating me on how the brand’s name is pronounced, I actually thought it sounded more French.

Haven’t tried any Nishane perfumes yet, but I’m going to, they’re making a lot of buzz.

    Russia.

  • B-Six-Cent-Douze! Makes me smile to say it and I’m sure this inspired scent brings joy as well. Glad to hear from Sebastian that it is shiny and sparkly, a woody aromatic should be both! And the lavender is a perfect nod to Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and the otherworldly, dreamy feeling in the story of Le Petit Prince.

I am in the US, have not tried anything from Nishane, but this one and Vain & Naive have made me curious. Thank you to CaFleureBon and Nishane for the generous draw. Also thanks to Sebastian, I am taking the time to enjoy more videos about fragrance because of the Smelling Great channel.

  • Here is California, USA. I have yet to any of the Nishane line. Sebastian’s reviews are always educational. As of date he has influenced 3 of my frag purchases. Of B-612, the cypress note I’m really interested in because the the cypress where I live has a citrus scent.

  • james weaver says:

I have no experience with the brand Nishane. A classy Luxurious fragrance really intrigues me. I love high quality Fougere fragrances. Virginia USA

  • Sebastian’s reviews are always so good, that you feel like you need to buy most of the fragrances he’s reviewing.Bought 7 fragrances because of him.

I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. Thanks to him I discovered Caflreurebon afterwall.
“Le Petit Prince” was my favorite book in my childhood and I’m very curious to see how Nishane’s artistic interpretation.
I have yet to test any Nishane fragrances, but from the recent reviews PACHULÍ KOZHA seems really interesting.
Thank you for this draw and another great review !
    Greetings from Romania.

Wow Nishane draw… To me this is one the best,if not the best perfume house that came in the last 5-6 years-HUGE FAN.Everything about Nishane is top notch-great presentation, nice bottles, quality ingredients, good longevity, sillage and projection-fantastic….10/10.To be honest i’m not familiar with B-612 , but according to Sebastian’s reviw..should be a great one-fougere iwth a lot of musk, oakmoss and tonka bean.
I do own and love my full bottle of Fan Your Flames , and my 10ml decant of Pasion Choco.
Virginia USA – most of the time and London UK from time to time.

  • bumbuliuki says:

I enjoy every review from Sebastian. I love aromatic fougeres, so B-612 would be perfect. Le petit prince was one of my favorite books when I was a child.
I’ve been reading a lot of great review on Nishane fragrances, but haven’t been able to try any of them. Would love to do that in the near future.
    Thank you for the review.

  • Vasco Trancoso says:

    Hi!

After a flu, I was 1 year without olfactory sense but and now I’ve recovered it. And now it’s better than ever before! Consequently, I acquired a great pleasure in knowing new fragrances and became a lover and collector of great perfumes.
In this case I would be very interested to know this new fragrance Nishane B-612 for the following reasons:
1 – The Sebastian review on You Tube was inspiring and its excellent description made me have the irresistible urge to receive the bottle of B-612 and smell the fragrance. And at the same time get to know a new Brand for me: Nishane!
2 – The history of the Petit Prince was very important to many of us during childhood.
3 – Coincidentally, in my childhood, my first fragrance (in 1957) was an old Portuguese Eau de Cologne (Lavenda Ach Brito) exclusively with Lavender which is a dominant top note on the B-612.
4 – Finally I remembered something that I call “Rosebud Sindrome” – based on what happens in the film Citizen Kane when the personage that Orson Welles represents says, when dying, the name of his first toy: Rosebud. And based also on my life as a doctor. Because I have sometimes been following the last moments of the life of dying persons (one of the most difficult things in a doctor’s life), and those who spoken sometimes told me they are seeing their life from the present to the past and also had scents they perceived in their childhood. In other words, the end is again the beginning.

So, in conclusion because I’m getting older and in consequence of my own “Rosebud Sindrome” I would be very happy to have and try B-612 and to start to know Nishane Brand.

    Cheers
