Azzaro Pour Homme Review (1978) + Powerhouse Fougere Draw

Azzaro Pour Homme Ad

Some designer fragrances are standards and every man should have in their collection. Our fathers wore them and perhaps our relatives as well. Azzaro Pour Homme is one example of a classic. Azzaro Pour Homme, the second Azzaro fragrance in the line, was introduced in 1978 and is an example of powerhouse cologne from the late 70s and a great example of fragrance that stands the test of time in the world of here today and gone tomorrow.  The brand was started by Loris Azzaro, a French–Italian fashion designer born in Tunisia who wanted to capture the scent of the Mediterranean in his parfums. Azzaro Pour Homme has been the base of many flankers over the years, but it is the fragrance to own if you want to explore the modern fougere category. Azzaro Pour Homme is a great place to begin as it has some aspects of the Paul Parquet’s masterpiece Houbigant Fougere Royale, but updated with a spicy twist star anise.-  Michelyn Camen, Editor in Chief.

  • Admittedly, I haven’t tried this classic from the 70s. I know this fragrance is on many lists of fragrances to try due to its iconic role. Sebastian always gives informative and concise reviews that I enjoy. Although I haven’t tried Azzaro Pour Homme, I have tried Azzaro Wanted and Chrome. Wanted is a little too sweet for my taste, but Chrome is nice during the warmer months. Cheers from CT.

  • I love this fragrance. I think Sebastian’s review was spot on, though I never really noticed the vetiver as much. Now I’d like to pay attention to it again

  • After Sebastians informative review I would definitely like to try this classic. I don’t have any colognes from the Azzaro house so I think this would be a good start. Thank you for the giveaway. I’m in the United States, New York.

  • Love his reviews and thanks for this giveaway. I haven’t smelled this fragrance but many seem to like it. So hope to get a chance
    Thanks. From California

  • I love this one it’s a classic cologne and I love the review. Sebastian knows what he’s talking about and I learned what fougere is. I wore Azzaro Chrome in the mid 90s. I would love to win a bottle. Thank you in California.

What I enjoyed about Sebastian’s review is his love for this classic which I admire because I have an appreciation and love for certain classics as well, despite the fact I’ve never tried this one. I’m a big fan of fougere’s and have my sights on this one. I am familiar with Azzaro pour homme because of reviews I’ve seen and read. Thanks for the opportunity. New York, USA.

  • Sebastian is right Azzaro is a must-have and a classic. I have vintage version of Azzaro Pour Homme in my collction but have not tried the latest version. thanks for the draw. I also love Azzaro Acteur and original Azzaro for Women which came in that black circular bottle. i am in US.

  • Loved the review. Sebastian really did a great job and I never knew it has star anise. Is that licorice? Azzaro Pour Homme needs to be mine

  • I always enjoy Sebastian’s reviews. He has such a natural way of reviewing scents that make me want to run out and buy the fragrance!
I love spice notes in my perfumes, so I really think I’d love this perfume. Star Anise is a great fragrance note!
