It may be Crazy by name, but The Different Company’s Crazy Tubereuse is definitely more naughty by nature. A lush tuberose blooming as the sun goes down sets the scene for what’s to come. The  waxy plump petals simmer with a creamy sweetness enriched by balsamics that glisten like dark gems on the pale white petals. Black pepper teases out more of the florals natural spicy side adding a darker tone, giving the petals a bodily warmth and a knowing flirtatious wink. Cold glistening aldehydes are a lovely counterpoint, playing as a contrast to the warm spiced florals.     What really caught my attention was the contrast between the lush, creamy tuberose and those cold aldehydes, black pepper, and soft suede-like leather. J’s description of the smooth petals gliding over cool skin made the scent feel incredibly vivid.     Crazy Tubereuse is at 50% oil concentration?!?!?!?!? I don’t believe I have ever smelled over maybe 30%. The way the florals project from the perfume description make this fragrance sound irresistible. I’d love to find and sample this one.

    It is indeed interesting how none of the typical “beast mode notes” have been used in this scent yet it projects like cray. This is exactly what the name announces, a tuberose front and center. By giving it the Extrait treatment the fragrances adopt their most powerful form still keeping the facets that make the original shine. I’d love to get my hands on this one to know exactly how the leather note plays a pivotal role of keeping the scent going and going. I’m located in the US.

    I love tuberose and am always drawn to perfumes featuring the note, but oh my, this description of Crazy Tuberose absolutely took my breath away! I am seriously swooning…I literally want to sit in that garden where “waxy plump petals simmer with a creamy sweetness enriched by balsamics that glisten like dark gems on the pale white petals” and later purr with hypnotic desire. Wow. Yes, please! And with those cold glistening aldehydes adding lightness and complexity, Crazy Tuberose is simply a masterpiece that feels made for me.     Tuberose has already such a big, sensual personality, so aldehydes and black pepper with styrax I’m certain it’s such a beast but in a lovely way. Add in the 50% oil concentration and it’s essentially confidence in a bottle. Obsessed with this fragrance line, and really appreciate the bold approach in a sea of safe releases lately!

    Crazy Tubereuse sounds like a powerful, sensual interpretation of one of my favourite flowers. I love white florals, especially tuberose, so the combination of tuberose, jasmine and black pepper with the cool aldehydes and leather, sounds fascinating and unique.     The bit that got me was J’s image of the tuberose slipping into a sleek leather jacket made of jasmine petals. I’ve never thought about leather and tuberose that way, but it makes sense. I also like that the cold aldehydes work as a counterpoint, because tuberose can turn heavy and sweet on me otherwise. And a 50% extrait that fills a room instead of sitting close to the skin is something I’ve never tried. From EU.

    The Different Company “Crazy Tubereuse” sounds beautiful! Some of my favorite fragrances of all time have Tuberose notes in them. I’ve never had the privilege of owning, let alone smelling any fragrances from The Different Company, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. I’d love to check them out! J’s description of “Crazy Tubereuse” makes me feel like this would make for a great fall and winter fragrance. I desperately need some darker scents, as the majority of my collection seems to consist of freshies that only pair well with warm weather. Crazy Tubereuse sounds like it could be a very versatile fragrance that could be pulled off regardless of the season, which is always a plus!

    It seems simplistic, which is awesome and ai like that, but with an Extrait of 50% all of the facets of the ingredients will come forward in a propably beautiful transition. The Cuir De Russie in particular has so many facets and will propably function incredible together with the Jasmine! What sparks my interest the most is how the leather will smell in combination with the rest. How it sits in the formular. Thanks for the review, J!

    I have enjoyed reading all the reviews (and all the comments) for The Different Company’s new line of extracts. Maddy made me go bake madeleines, Gin-Seng made me call my Chinese relatives and asked for a dose.

    J sets the stage for another nocturnal fantasy wrapped in indolic mystery. Who in the right mind would not be “Maddy” in love with a “Crazy Tuberose” after reading his review?

    I absolutely loved Gin-Seng, it’s just perfect. I love a great tuberose. I wore Misk ar Rum by Hunayn last night and it’s a stunning tuberose.     I read the other two reviews of the Extraits Extremes line from The Different Company on CaFleureBon and was a bit disappointed the tuberose scent was not one of them. Good things come to those who wait, because it’s Crazy Tubereuse turn! Yes, I’m a tuberose aficionado and the 50% concentration has been excited.     Crazy Tubereuse is—as the kids on the internet say—nuclear, with room filling throw and hours of endurance, so it sounds like judicious application is required. But use a little restraint and you’ve got all the creamy-sweet (and a little spicy) white florals you could want, with balancing touches of cool aldehydes and suede deftly applied.     I’m curious about this new series from Different Co, Ginseng and Maddy also look good! I love that the concentration is so high, that’s amazing.
    I love a sultry spicy white floral so I’d love to try a tuberose / black / pepper / leather scent. I’ve also recently fallen in love with the underrated note, styrax, which tends to make scents smell very ancient somehow on my skin – in a good way! I don’t think I have tried a tuberose leather scent yet, but I do like tuberose with spices.
