    I love that Steven said this is even fresher than the original. With the heat right now the fresher the better. A pepper opening is intriguing to me. I love a citrus perfume and this one sounds perfect for summer.

    I think what I really enjoyed about Steven’s review was his ability to break down the original and the new intense fragrance and ensure those who are interested in the fragrance know they are two different fragrances and not one being intense of the other. He really broke down the fragrances to allow their uniqueness to shine for both. Amazing review!

    Really excited by the darker direction with the Cambodian Oud. But he describes it as a vacation that continues to pop hours later. I need that as I line in 9 months of heat. I have not tried the original. But its the same as Red Tobacco. I went straight for the Intense version. But I was really surprised by Aoud Lemon Mint. Which I purchased after Steven’s review. So hoping to add this to my collection. It will sit between Aoud Lemon Mint and Cedrat Boise on my shelf. Maybe I can finally win here. If not will certainly look to purchase in the future.     As always Steven’s are my favorite reviews to watch. I can’t say strongly enough how this sounds to be exactly what I’m looking for right now. Citrus, Oceanic, with just a touch of depth. I love that he clarified it isn’t overly oud-y, even though I do love a good oud.

    Big fan of summer vacation scents utilizing ouds. Steven mentioning this is actually fresher than the original is surprising considering intense renditions tend to be heavier. As usual, he is able to paint a very detailed picture that allows me to imagine the scent before smelling it.

    I like how Steven mentioned that it was citrus with a dark twist. I haven’t tried the original, but I have tried Cedrat Boise, and know that Mancera does citrus fragrances very well. I live in Maryland USA.

    I was not familiar with Mancera until I watched Steven’s video for the Mancera Intense French Riviera. I gravitate to very fresh citrus forward fragrances so I am very excited about this fragrance. I have followed Steven for a while and have purchased many fragrances based on his reviews. I have been very happy with all of them. Steven has an amazing nose!!

    I really enjoyed Steven’s insightful breakdown of how Intense French Riviera manages to remain incredibly vibrant and citrus-forward despite the introduction of black pepper and Cambodian oud.     I have never had the chance to smell the original but like the name suggest, I have a rough idea of what it smells like and how this one takes it up a notch. This sounds like a dream vacation scent but with intensified version right before our eyes. Black pepper adds a bit of spicy that combined with the citruses gives and extra kick for those hot summer days. I’m intrigued Steven finds this one fresher than the original, in an atmospheric French Riviera landscape. Montale fragrances truly have a strength to it that others envy and whenever I see an intense version of an original, you really have to take a second look as they’re nuclear. A new summer staple.     Really great description and comparison of the two. I have the original and I do enjoy it, but its a little too foral for me. I actually like the idea of the intense being a fresher, more citrusy take on the original. I also like inclusion of the black pepper note. I do have a few Mancera with Cinque Terre being my favorite. I follow Steven on all the platforms and love his reviews and top lists! USA

    Glad Steven could provide us with a comparison! Sometimes it’s good to do a side-by-side with the original, especially if you’re only considering one. Interesting that it would be fresher than its predecessor though. Definitely nice that it didn’t lose the casual vibes. A lot of flankers to citrus florals used to try and outclass the originals by spicing them up with a peppery material. Sounds like this one is a pleasant but modest deviation. From my experience, Mancera certainly a brand that delivers on longevity too. Appreciate the take! VA, USA.

    With Intense French Riviera, Mancera does go darker somewhat but even so, the intense version for him feels fresher in the opening even with the inclusion of newer notes like black pepper, Cambodian oud and Tiaré. It’s not daring and the oud doesn’t really impact the citrus forward notes standing out, while black pepper and Tiaré do make a difference. The stars of the composition are the OG citrus waves of bright bergamot, lemon and mandarin. What sets Intense apart is the addition of Tiaré flower and black pepper in the mix. It gives it a subtle, dark twist that plays on the fresh, beachy summery Mediterranean French Riveria vibe of the original. So, yes fans of the original would love the Intense version as well because it imparts the same serene and laid-back vibes, not being a huge deviation from the original. Another perfect summer scent to enjoy.

    Mancera Intense French Riviera sounds like a lot of fun on relaxing summer days (or just when you wish it were, on a beach somewhere). The “twist of black pepper in the opening” is an interesting note of distinction and the longevity of the citrus is impressive. Like Steven says, the sea spray and floral heart sounds “beachy”, but I was surprised to hear he finds this version fresher than the original. “Refreshing citrus cocktail” sounds fantastic.

    Steven got me with the almond flour accord. I love that smell as well as oud. I haven’t smelled it but I can imagine what this scent brings. Fresh and dark is what I’m imagining.
