Headspace Parfums Acacia (Julien Rasquinet) 2025 + First Light of Spring Giveaway.

Headspace Acacia

Perfumer Julien Rasquinet’s Extraits perfumes for Headspace Parfums are objects of scented beauty. I’ve written about Tabac, an exceptional autumnal coffee tobacco. Acacia is a different mood. Rasquinet captures mimosa in bloom, as the sun’s first rays of spring makes its blossoms unfurl. Acacia feels like poetry, with Julien Rasquinet shaping materials rather than words into a delicate beautiful form. Acacia is like wearing like Spring’s sunlight, a floral vanilla warmth glowing with a refined elegance and grace.

Acacia blooms with a bittersweet warmth, as a delicious berry and plum liquor effervesces on your skin. Flashes of herbal chartreuse greens and fruity dark purple brandy tones are captured in a l golden glow of dark vanilla rum. If this was a cocktail, I’d drink it. It’s joined by honeyed aromas, which with the herbal greens give Acacia a complex mouthwatering richness, one that pairs elegantly with the bittersweet davana facets. It’s relaxed and comforting, as its scent flows through your nose and you feel the mimosa start to flower from this delicious cocktail.

Mimosa flowers

This moment is memorable; you can feel the subtle dryness of the flower– tonka bean giving it this slightly crunchy yet delicate texture. Think somewhere between dry rice and powder, then puff, the soft hazy sensation of the gorgeous mimosa quietly envelops you. The image of dappled sunlight through tress gently swaying in the wind kept coming to mind when I’ve been wearing Acacia. That first light of spring’s gentle radiance. Julien Rasquinet has composed a stunning mimosa accord here, capturing the “headspace” for Headspace of experiencing this small yellow flower. The nuances are stunning, honeyed tones keep the warmth of the boozy opening, while the tonka bean and plum fruits shift into an almond bitter cherry fruitiness. He also captures the airy greenery around the flower with violet leaf adding a whisper of verdancy and pale woods, giving the mimosa space as a watery kiss of cucumber feels like spring air drifting over your skin. Acacia feels fresh and light with a quiet elegance, forming a powdery haze as the golden dust shimmers in pale sunlight. The coolness dries as more tonka been arrives hinting at the next stage of this flower and perfume’s life.

The mimosa flowers change as Acacia’s final dry down arrives, they turn brittle and crack into a softly smoky woody vanilla that leaves your skin coated in an aura of floral powder. There’s a nod back to classic powdery perfumes, but Julien Rasquinet keeps Acacia contemporary. Ghost vapours of the boozy rum opening haunt the edges, giving a rounded feel to the sandalwood and vanilla, as opoponax’s balsamic facets glisten like memories of the captured fragments of sunlight. It’s also adding a subtle smokiness to the woody vanilla giving it body as the sandalwood turns the flower’s petals into a crushed velvet texture. Tonka bean’s coumarin side adds to this feeling, capturing the delicate texture of the mimosa flowers as they dry. The powdery floral amber is delicious on your skin, holding the pale light of the final days of winter and early spring close to you… the mimosa’s time of bloom. Acacia is an evocative ode to this flower and an elegant take on vanilla.

Notes: Rhum, Plum, Davana, Mimosa (HEADSPACE), Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Opoponax.

  • Oooh how amazing!! Springs sunlight sounds gorgeous. And the notes of plum liquor, herbal chartreuse greens and opoponax’s balsamic facets are my jam. This sounds so intriguing and beguiling. Rasquinet has never let me down, I am located in the U.S.

  • The poetic capture of mimosa blooming in spring sunlight, with boozy plum and herbal greens evolving into a smoky vanilla drydown, sounds elegantly evocative and unique. I live in Poland, EU.

  • A scent that transitions from the cooler months to springtime, Acacia is a soft, airy, boozy, plumy gourmand that has a complexity with interplay of its most prominent notes; Davana, Mimosa, vanilla, rum, plum, and resinous Opoponax, to create a complex, well-rounded scent that delights.

  • J’s review completely transported me — the way Acacia moves from that boozy plum-rum opening into a honeyed mimosa glow sounds mesmerizing. I’m especially intrigued by the contrast between the bittersweet davana and the soft, powdery tonka bean, and how the mimosa shifts from luminous spring sunlight into a smoky, woody vanilla drydown. The imagery of dappled light and crushed velvet petals makes it feel both nostalgic and modern at once. I love fragrances that evolve with texture and atmosphere, and this sounds like poetry on skin.

I’m located in the United States.

  • Love Julien’s work! Also been wanting to smell more mimosa perfumes. Powdery floral amber is my favorite category. This just sounds like a definite love.

  • This lovely article almost made me nostalgic…mimosa transports me straight back to my years in Italy, where mimosa is the classic present for Women’s Day (8th of March, which also happens to be my birthday). I remember I had not smelled mimosa before that period of my life, and suddenly, come spring, I would see it everywhere, in stores, gardens and people’s hands, bringing them to women they loved. Its fragrance brought comfort, a feeling of lightness, warmth and coziness.
According to J, the mimosa in this fragrance seems to be bolder and rounder, with a coating of rhum and vanilla and the depth of plum and balsamic, woody and velvety textures. Reminding us that every mother, at the end of day, was, and is, a woman.
    Greetings from the EU.

  • I’m a huge fan of Headspace. I liked the description – “the tonka bean and plum fruits shift into an almond bitter cherry fruitiness”. On my wishlist it goes. MI USA

  • This sounds beautiful. The mix of mimosa, rum, plum and tonka feels warm but still light which is exactly the kind of spring scent that works best. Really like the idea of that soft powdery drydown with vanilla and sandalwood, especially if it keeps a little hint of the boozy opening. It sounds elegant but still easy to wear.

  • My interest sparked reading of the changing mimosa note as it turns in the dry down to a soft smoky woody vanilla. US

  • Julien Rasquinet’s Acacia captivates with its masterful evocation of mimosa in bloom, translating the delicate unfurling of spring sunlight into a symphony of boozy plum, honeyed greens, and tonka kissed powder that feels both comforting and quietly radiant. What draws me most is the perfume’s textural poetry, from the effervescent berry liquor opening to a hazy floral core and a contemporary smoky vanilla drydown that nods to classic powder while remaining luminously modern. The idea rendered makes it sound less like a simple floral and more like an emotion you wear. This is olfactory storytelling at its most refined, a fragrance that wears like dappled light through swaying branches.

  • Based on J Wearescentient’s review I know I would adore Headspace Acacia. Vanilla, amber, tonka and mimosa sound wonderful together. I did try kirsch and loved it. “Crushed velvet petals and rum – and Julien Rasquinet? Yes please. USA reader

  • So this is how I find out that acacia and mimosa are the same thing! Julien Rasquinet is a god amongst men so I’m sure this is so beautiful, I love a springy floral but the vanilla and tonka bean really makes this an interesting composition. Sounds like the perfect fragrance to wear during the transition between winter and spring! Have to get my nose on this ASAP. I live in New York City!

  • I’m pretty sure Julien Rasquinet has created if not all most of the fragrances and that lets you know we’re in for a treat. These are not like beast mode fragrances however the quality and artistry jumps out with each. They are very unique and like the name of the house, it places you in a very specific headspace. This one for example contains sandalwood so it’s a floral scent with those woody and creamy sandalwood touches. This also has plum and rhum which adds that boozy touch. I’m intrigued with the whole line and house. I’m located in the US.

  • I really like the notes in this one and, to be fair, I have little to no experience with mimosa, but the combination of rhum and plum, plus sandalwood and vanilla sounds really appealing to me. Thanks! Good luck to everyone!

What grabbed me is how mimosa is handled with depth and control. The boozy plum, one of my favorite notes of all time, gives it richness, while rum, tonka, and woods keep it grounded. It feels like wearing early spring with quiet strength, smooth, textured, and confidently refined. I live in New Jersey, USA.

I want to wear poetry on my skin. Truly, that’s a great image. Thank you to Julien Rasquinet for creating a fragrance that inspired J,

  • J’s review of Acacia is pure poetry—э, I could feel the warmth of that first spring sunlight just from reading his words. What sparks my interest most is his description of the fragrance as “like wearing Spring’s sunlight, a floral vanilla warmth glowing with a refined elegance and grace.” After a long, grey European winter, the promise of a perfume that captures “the first light of spring” feels almost magical. The way he paints the opening, a “delicious berry and plum liquor effervescing on your skin” with “flashes of herbal chartreuse greens and fruity dark purple brandy tones”, sounds like a cocktail I want to bathe in. But it’s the moment the mimosa unfurls that truly captivates me: “you can feel the subtle dryness of the flower… then puff, the soft hazy sensation of the gorgeous mimosa quietly envelops you.” That transition from boozy warmth to floral powder, with “dappled sunlight through trees gently swaying in the wind,” is exactly the kind of sensory experience I crave. I’ve never tried Headspace Parfums before, though I’ve heard wonderful things about Julien Rasquinet’s work. The concept of capturing the actual “headspace” of a flower in bloom, that moment of unfurling in the sun, is incredibly compelling. Acacia sounds like an elegant, contemporary take on both mimosa and vanilla, and I would be honoured to let its “golden dust shimmer in pale sunlight” on my skin. I am a registered reader in Germany and would be thrilled to win Acacia.

  • AromaAdventurer says:

J’s review transported me straight to the south of France in late winter, when the first mimosa trees explode into clouds of yellow powder and the air turns golden with their scent. What sparks my interest most is his masterful description of the fragrance’s evolution, from that intoxicating “berry and plum liquor” opening with “herbal chartreuse greens” to the moment the mimosa itself “starts to flower from this delicious cocktail.” The way he captures texture is extraordinary: “somewhere between dry rice and powder, then puff, the soft hazy sensation of the gorgeous mimosa quietly envelops you.” I can almost feel that delicate, powdery haze settling on my skin. The mention of “watery kiss of cucumber” adding freshness, and the final drydown where the flowers “turn brittle and crack into a softly smoky woody vanilla,” promises a fragrance with real narrative depth and transformation. After reading about Julien Rasquinet’s work for Headspace, first Tabac, now Acacia, I’m convinced this house understands the art of capturing a moment in scent. Acacia sounds like an elegant, sophisticated tribute to spring itself, and I would love to experience its “golden glow” firsthand.

Love the work of Julien Rasquinet. His work always has an exquisite sensibility, they are like liquid poetry. J’s description of a golden honeyed mimosa bouquet with a warm vanilla, coated with a boozy plumy liquor gourmand veil sounds very intriguing. What sparks my interest is this particular sentences: “honeyed tones keep the warmth of the boozy opening, while the tonka bean and plum fruits shift into an almond bitter cherry fruitiness” , while there is an interesting contrast of bittersweet davana facets and airy greenery with the note of violet leaf. “Acacia feels fresh and light with a quiet elegance, forming a powdery haze as the golden dust shimmers in pale sunlight”. This sounds absolutely delightful, an elegant composition with a lot of texture and atmosphere.
Thank you for the wonderful review and generous draw! Greetings from Germany 🙂

I love Julian’s work and this sounds fantastic. The shimmering and dusty vibes this evokes sound delightful. I’d love to win this and live in Indiana. The things that intrigues me most is I’ve never smelled a headspace perfume

  • I like all the notes listed in this fragrance and I really like that it’s described as a mimosa flower and elegant vanilla scent. In the USA.

  • I like the comparison of acaccia flower as a little head of sunlight and the mention of all those notes – especially vanilla and coumarin tickle my fancy. I live in the EU.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for the fresh and luminous review! Headspace Parfums Acacia feels like the very first light of spring — that tender moment when chilled air begins to soften and blossoms tentatively unfurl. I imagine citrus and delicate florals waking on the breeze like pale sunlight through budding branches. What really stood out to me is how the green, almost dewy facets balance with subtle creamy warmth in the dry-down, giving it a sense of quiet renewal rather than overt sweetness. It evokes early morning walks through a blooming orchard… lightly refreshing, lightly hopeful, and beautifully poised between cool clarity and gentle warmth. I’d love to try Acacia!

  • After one foot plus of snow on the US East Coast, I’m ready for spring scents. There are a few florals that automatically conjure feelings of the season for me; lily of the valley, jonquil, magnolia and mimosa. The headspace technology Rasquinet uses for Acacia ensures a true, complex experience which changes as the fragrance dries down and wears on the skin. The inclusion of rum, vanilla. and sandalwood rounds out the florals and gives a modern feel. USA

  • Wow, this sounds so delicious, it’s hard to parse out just what catches me more. The smoky vanilla, the headspace mimosa, the deft handling of the notes…I adore true mimosa so I suppose that is the star that I want to try most. I live in the US.

  • I have smelled Headspace Santal, also by Julian Rasquinet, and loved it. J’s review of Mimosa invokes spring, and I am SO ready for spring. So please, bring on this powdery floral: it sounds like exactly what I want right now. Thanks for the opportunity!
    I’m in WV, USA

  • This is a very interesting fragrance framework, a combination of depth with rhum and plum with a crunchy floral texture from mimosa and the vanilla smooth powdery facets makes this a fantastic pairing of notes that I would love to get my hands on.

  • These parts of J’s review really sparked my interest:
“Acacia is an evocative ode to this flower and an elegant take on vanilla. It’s relaxed and comforting, as its scent flows through your nose and you feel the mimosa start to flower from this delicious cocktail. Acacia is like wearing like Spring’s sunlight, a floral vanilla warmth glowing with a refined elegance and grace. We’ve had a brutal winter by NYC standards and I’m so longing for spring to lift my spirits. This sounds like just the salve I need! The Hanks for the lovely review and generous giveaway. From Brooklyn NY

  • I was surprised to read how mouthwatering Acacia is, not expecting a floral to have the richness and complexity of a fine aperitif. And interesting that the mimosa takes a beat to enter the stage: “This moment is memorable; you can feel the subtle dryness of the flower– tonka bean giving it this slightly crunchy yet delicate texture. Think somewhere between dry rice and powder, then puff, the soft hazy sensation of the gorgeous mimosa quietly envelops you.” Lovely way of highlighting this flower’s attributes.

    I’m in the USA.

  • “It’s joined by honeyed aromas, which with the herbal greens give Acacia a complex mouthwatering richness, one that pairs elegantly with the bittersweet davana facets.”

As someone who grew up in a place where Acacia grows, this is the time of year when it starts to bloom, and the smell of it fills the air. Nighttime walks are a must during the spring. It’s one of my favorite smells in the world, and this fragrance sounds incredible.

I’m located in the United States.

  • The transition to the dry down- “softly smoky woody vanilla that leaves your skin coated in an aura of floral powder” sounds absolutely divine. I’m a big fan of Rasquinet’s Bois d’Ascese which creates such an uplifting aura in the dry down, and this review has me excited to experience the journey with this one. I’m in the USA.

I’m a fan of Rasquinet’s work and a mimosa fragrance by him for Headspace is very exciting!! J’s review also heightens the excitement from their description. I love mimosa (have some in an arrangement in my apt currently!) and am a big fan of perfumes that explore bittersweet, medicinal shades, so the full profile of this creation is right in that sweet spot for me.

    I’m in VA, USA.

  • I love this fragrance house! As spring is beginning to stir in my corner of the US, this feels like a celebration of warmth and light. Acacia sounds sunny and delicate with a bit of creaminess in the base that draws on that winter coziness as the season ebbs away.

What a lovely way to welcome the new season! I’m in the US.

I am intrigued with the plum note that opens up Acacia. What a delicious introduction to the mimosa that soon opens up. The mimosa sounds so radiant. I loved the image of spring air drifting over skin. The woody vanilla, along with the sandalwood and opoponax, sounds velvety indeed. I’d love to have this beautiful fragrance in my collection. Thank you for the giveaway opportunity.

  • Mimosa, green violet leaf, sandalwood and vanilla, this sounds just wonderful, dappled sunlight and all. I would love to try this, I’m in the us.

  • A floral cream and a dream. Pleasant notes staggered without overdoing it. Mr. Julien is an expert perfumer and the simplicity isn’t overly complicated but smooth and I gather from its description that it could be an year rounder for all seasons. Headspaces’ house name in itself is unique and is far from gimmicky or tacky. Niche and indie truly represent the craft and passion of true connoisseurs. Would cherish this delight and use sparingly if i was the lucky winner. From USA.

  • i just have to leave my comment & pray because this fragrance is one that sounds absolutely divine & perfect for spring! the plum, tonka bean, vanilla, mimosa— it sounds absolutely terrific! i continue to add to my wishlist thanks to these amazing reviews, but, at the same time i feel like I experience the fragrance as i read such detailed & amazing words. i love a powdery ambery floral- my idea of perfection! i am in the united states.

  • Ok come on now, this perfume is described beautifully here. I love the notes described as liquors and mixed together into a cocktail. Each of the ingredients are some of my favorites on their own, but I love the description of them together: soft and hazy, warm and then cool, subtly smoky and woody. This sounds lovely.
