Angelos Balamis of Angelos Créations Olfactives final release of 2025 is the remarkable E-lectron, a unique and elegant take on the classic amber genre, composed in a way that you have never experienced before. Drawing on memories from the amber resin fossils checkers on his grandfather’s backgammon board and his worry beads, he merges these olfactive memories with his favourite aspects of classic amber accords. I first smelled E-lectron on Christmas Eve last year and it lingered in my mind for days after. This is a kaleidoscopic amber with magnetism.

Invigorating and complex scents swirl over your skin as E-lectron opens, smelling inviting and delicious. Black currant fruity aromas are chilled by an aromatic cardamom as a kiss of apricot gives a playful feel to E-lectron. It’s juicy and refreshing with a dark, rich sweetness that’s balanced by dusty woody warm spices. Black pepper skillfully seasons the fruits drawing out more tasty facets, with a dusting of dried coriander that cleverly foreshadows the subtle incense smokiness revealed at the  drydown of Angelos Créations Olfactives E-lectron. The way the spices play with the fruits makes E-lectron feel like warm skin caressed by a breeze as things start to slowly shift letting more gourmand facets feel flirtatious. As a counterpoint, whispers of classic amber resins linger in the back forming a structure and rhythm for the sweet, spiced melody to play over. Elemi’s fresher facets add flickers of green to the spiced tones and deep rich fruits while bringing subtle incense-like notes out. This gives E-lectron a dry airy feel, almost musky, in an ancient way, cleverly balanced by fresher sweeter facets making it feel very contemporary, with a wink of something wild lurking in the mix.

Amber from the Baltics

Sweet clover blooms as E-lectron dries down, its honeyed hay-like take over from the fruits, smelling almost caramelised, all handled deftly. The openings spices mellow into a dry tobacco while immortelle add a darkly cooked brown sugar sweetness, condensing the fruits and spices of the opening into a hazy richness. Perfumer Angelos Balamis shows off his skills with soft floral contrasts that give E-lectron an ethereal elegance. That apricot from the opening shifts into a more floral osmanthus adding a suede like facet to the amber, imagine warm wisps of smoke from the embers of the spices forming over the amber resins smooth surface. Powdery iris enhances E-lectron, adding a vintage vibe while enriching its velvety texture with more elegance as it weaves its way into the muskier elements.

A delicate dose of ambrarome has been making E-lectron purr in a sexy way from the get-go, a tease across the room, quietly flirting with you, letting delicious cacao draw you closer to feel it’s powdery furs before cool ambered spices sink their claws gently into your skin, never letting you forget. The cacao and iris facets are rather magic here, its aroma is opulent and dark, dusty almost at its edges with a sweeter swirl of white chocolate and tonka bean as patchouli brings out a cake-like facet as you get closer to the skin. This chocolate note has been catching me off guard while wearing E-lectron.  It makes others notice you, yet it’s doesn’t feel obviously like chocolate as it’s paired with a dry bran note giving a savoury edge. In the air it s one you try to chase but as soon as you think you know E-lectron, it changes, seducing you in new ways. The bran gives a golden amber hue to the perfume with a subtle sheep’s wool warmth and touch of waxiness from cistus adding to the textures. Sandalwood enhances E-lectron’s contrasts with a sour creamy woodiness that gives an amber fossil heart its sleek texture. The combination of osmanthus, iris and musks adds a light floral freshness that gives the sensation of sun rays glistening through an ancient amber fossil. It works cleverly in contrast to the drier velvet smoke elements that rises from dark resins. That sleek amber texture and gentle musky haze add depth and fuzzy complexity. E-lectron’s traditional amber take hold, while still maintaining its distinctive qualities.

I know I keep talking about E-lectron in gourmand terminology, but wearing it feels far from gourmand. It stays dry and musky almost like golden incense smoke that cloaks its amber heart, one that reveals its beauty as you get more up close and personal. It’s both airy and dreamy, yet there’s an earthiness to keep you grounded. The combination of all these contrasts handled with a delicate touch makes E-electron feel special and oh so distinctive. Angelos Balamis has created his amber in a way that is uncanny, his compositional use of materials builds an amber accord that feel familiar yet it so not. E-electron is kaleidoscopic, shimmering with fruits, flowers and dark resins… it’s his amber and smells magical.

  • This sounds beautiful. I love J’s mention of the clove note in here, and this being a fragrance that’s almost like incense. I live in Colorado USA

  • TheScentedPage says:

With this review I can almost feel the fragrance shifting in real time. I love how it highlights the tension between gourmand warmth and dry, ancient incense, all anchored by that intimate memory of amber backgammon pieces. J’s review is beautifully told story of scent.

  • I am so glad that Luckyscent carries Angelos Creations Olfactives. Narkissos sounds amazing and Irida too. What really got me about J’s review of E-lectron is that is an Amber like no other. Big Amber fan here.

  • My interest was sparked reading that cacao and white chocolate notes were in this offering. US

  • J emphasizes that although E-lectron leans gourmand, it defies that category with its elements of smoky, golden incense that leans dry; the amber is where it truly shines in its composition: grounded in an earthiness with while being both airy and dreamy.

  • These notes are my absolute favorite! I would love to experience how they interact in this perfume. The whole thing sounds divine. I’m in the U.S.

  • E-lectron strikes me as a brilliantly kaleidoscopic amber – familiar yet utterly uncanny. J’s review highlights how it layers juicy blackcurrant/apricot and warm spices into an airy, almost musky incense haze, then surprises with cacao, bran, and osmanthus that feel seductive and shifting rather than straightforward gourmand. It’s magnetic, elegant, and never settles, blending ancient resin memory with modern flirtation in a way that feels truly distinctive. I live in Poland, EU

Oh wow, this does sound like really complex and special perfume. I love ambers and I really, really want to see how Angelos interprets the genre. Fabulous review, even if I don’t win I will try and get my nose in this. In Brooklyn, NY.

  • Ramses Perez says:

You put a chocolate like note on a fragrance and I am there! This one feels like a gourmand lover’s dream come true. I never imagine Angelos creating such a fragrance when he is typically known for more daring scents but eventually they all succumb to the reign of sweets. Don’t be fooled by the 30 ML bottle either, one or two sprays will have radiating scent rays like the sun. I really need to dig into more indie houses because they are the ones setting the standard and the trends. What a scent! I’m located in the USA.

  • I enjoyed the description of an “uncanny” amber. Thanks for another wonderful review and draw. MI USA

  • It would be hard to pick out what appeals to me most in this review, but it started at cardamom and apricot, perked at black pepper, made me actually exclaim aloud at clover and then decide I better leave a comment at the closing with “magical.” and that presentation is gorgeous, like a priceless artifact! I live inthe US.

  • What strikes me is how E-lectron seems to play tricks on the senses. It is described as “kaleidoscopic,” and I love that it refuses to stay in one lane. The way it balances those delicious gourmand notes is fascinating; it sounds like it’s constantly shifting between being something sweet and something much more ancient and earthy. It’s rare to find an amber that is described as “airy” and “dreamy” rather than just heavy and resinous. It sounds less like a typical perfume and more like a tactile memory, beautifully capturing that tension between a “chilled” spicy opening and a smoldering, velvet-like drydown.

I reside in the United States.

  • Since I’m a fan of both notes, what really intrigued me is how the cacao and iris facets are rather magical here, its aroma is opulent and dark, dusty almost at its edges with a sweeter swirl of white chocolate and tonka bean as patchouli brings out a cake-like facet as you get closer to the skin. This chocolate note makes others notice you, yet it’s doesn’t feel obviously like chocolate as it’s paired with a dry bran note giving a savoury edge. In the air it s one you try to chase but as soon as you think you know E-lectron, it changes, seducing you in new ways.

  • What strikes me most about E-lectron is how Angelos refuses to let it settle into any single identity. J’s description of that cacao-bran pairing is fascinating — the way a dark, opulent note is immediately grounded by something dry and savoury sounds like the kind of compositional move that keeps you second-guessing your own nose. And the image of amber fossil resins as the structural backbone beneath all those shifting fruit and spice layers is exactly the kind of conceptual clarity I love in perfumery. A kaleidoscopic amber that smells ancient and contemporary at the same time — that’s a difficult trick to pull off. I’m in the Netherlands, EU.

  • wonderscent.mari says:

I’ve never tried anything from Angelos Creations Olfactives but these notes of E-lectron are really impressive, I can only imagine how that smells.. What actually strikes me is the sound of a different uncanny yet dreamy amber fragrance with gourmand notes, golden incense, airy musks and grounded earthiness. Sounds absolutely spectacular and I simply must try it.
Thank you for the review and the draw, from EU.

  • Ensorceler says:

What strikes me most about E-lectron from J’s review is how Angelos Balamis seems to completely reinvent amber, not by overpowering it with gourmand excess, but by turning it into something living, radiant, and multifaceted. The idea of merging fruity brightness with dry tobacco, smoky elemi, osmanthus suede, and cacao iris powder sounds mesmerizing, like an amber fossil catching light from every angle. It feels less like a perfume and more like an evolving texture: silky, spiced, and quietly magnetic.

  • I like that the inspiration for this fragrance at it’s heart is tabletop gaming. This sounds like a wonderful experience of cocoa and dry resins alongside some fruity floral aspects. I’m always interested in incense based fragrances and after smelling Narkissos I’m very curious to see what Angelos can do with resins. Also, I love that he offers a 30ml bottle size and I wish more houses would offer this size as well. I’m in the USA.

  • Angelos’ descripn of the interplay amongst fuity black smells being cooled by a cardamom note in E-lectron is quite fascinating. The mention of a savoury edge through a a dry bran note is nat far away!

All of the compositions I tried from him (bought a full sample sets in late 2020 when Anglelos started selling) are, without exception, quite elegant with nods to classical compositions from yesteryear with modren sensibilities. So I wouldd love to try this one too. Thank you.

  • Ooh this sounds phenomenal!! I have almost all of his work, but not this one… and it’s always so gloriously well done. He always does florals perfectly and tbh everything else. Ooh all these notes sound amazing! The orris butter and authentic naturals for the amber accord (thank youuuu) I just know it’s my jam. He’s also such a sweetie about giving free samples with each order. I would love to add this one to my collection, I am in California.

  • libangeddy says:

Lately I have really been into the more complex full bodied multistage perfumes of the amber and chypre variety. This almost sounds like a mixture of both styles and done in a way that no one has before. The way these notes are described as kaleidoscopic is exactly what I would imagine they would be like just seeing the note pyramid alone. This brand is amazing and I wish I owned one bc I baby my little sample of pnoi bc of how amazing and deep it is so this has to be great. Immortelle is my favorite note of all time my vintage sables is tired of me lol. I live in the usa

  • This is a kaleidoscopic amber with magnetism sounds absolutely delightful. Particularly with that chocolate savoury edge. I’m in the US.

  • Marques Burgess says:

E-lectron immediately pulls me in with that magnetic, almost kaleidoscopic amber. I love how it plays with contrast, juicy blackcurrant and spice up top, then shifting into something drier, smokier, and more intimate. The way it evolves keeps me locked in, just when I think I understand it, it changes. That subtle cacao and resinous warmth is addictive. It does not feel like a typical gourmand or amber, it feels personal, textured, and honestly unforgettable. I live in New Jersey, USA

  • LindenNoir says:

J’s review of E-lectron completely shattered my preconceptions of what an amber fragrance can be. What strikes me most is his description of it as “a kaleidoscopic amber with magnetism” not the warm, predictable, resinous comfort blanket I usually associate with the genre, but something that “changes, seducing you in new ways” just when you think you understand it. The personal touch of Angelos Balamis drawing on memories of “amber resin fossils checkers on his grandfather’s backgammon board and his worry beads” adds such a beautiful, intimate layer. J’s description of that moment when “cacao and iris facets are rather magic here, its aroma is opulent and dark, dusty almost at its edges with a sweeter swirl of white chocolate and tonka bean” catching him off guard is exactly the kind of surprise I want from a fragrance. And the fact that it “stays dry and musky almost like golden incense smoke that cloaks its amber heart” rather than tipping into actual gourmand territory is the perfect balance for me.

  • AromaAdventurer says:

The image that struck me most in J’s review is Angelos Balamis finding inspiration in “the amber resin fossils checkers on his grandfather’s backgammon board.” My own grandfather taught me to play backgammon on a worn wooden board with amber-toned pieces, and that sensory memory the click of the pieces, the warm glow of the resin, the hours spent together came flooding back as I read J’s words. What J describes as E-lectron being “both airy and dreamy, yet there’s an earthiness to keep you grounded” perfectly captures that feeling of nostalgia present and vivid, yet softly focused like a faded photograph. The way the fragrance evolves from “black currant fruity aromas chilled by aromatic cardamom” with a “kiss of apricot” to that “dry tobacco and immortelle” with “osmanthus adding a suede-like facet to the amber” sounds like a journey through memory itself. J’s observation that the combination of “osmanthus, iris and musks adds a light floral freshness that gives the sensation of sun rays glistening through an ancient amber fossil” is just breathtaking.
I am from the EU, Germany.

  • J’s review of E-lectron made me reconsider everything. His insistence that despite using words like “cacao,” “white chocolate,” and “bran,” the fragrance “feels far from gourmand” and “stays dry and musky almost like golden incense smoke” is the most compelling endorsement I could receive. The way he describes the chocolate note as “catching him off guard” “it makes others notice you, yet it doesn’t feel obviously like chocolate as it’s paired with a dry bran note giving a savoury edge” suggests a complexity and restraint that most sweet-leaning fragrances lack. The contrast between “warm wisps of smoke from the embers of the spices forming over the amber resins smooth surface” and the “powdery iris adding a vintage vibe while enriching its velvety texture” promises a fragrance of real depth and sophistication. And the fact that Angelos Balamis spent years perfecting this, drawing on personal memories, tells me it’s a labour of love, not a market-driven release. EU.

  • FragranceFrenzyS says:

What strikes me most about J’s review is the sheer complexity and evolution he describes. E-lectron doesn’t just sit there smelling pretty; it performs, it transforms, it “seduces you in new ways.” The opening alone „black currant fruity aromas chilled by aromatic cardamom” with a “kiss of apricot,” balanced by “dusty woody warm spices” and “black pepper skillfully seasoning the fruits” sounds like a symphony of contrasts. The way the spices “play with the fruits” making E-lectron “feel like warm skin caressed by a breeze” is such a sensual image. And the journey doesn’t stop there: “sweet clover blooms… its honeyed hay-like aroma taking over from the fruits,” then “immortelle adding a darkly cooked brown sugar sweetness,” then “osmanthus adding a suede-like facet to the amber,” then “powdery iris enhancing the velvety texture,” then that surprise cacao note “catching me off guard.” Each stage J describes reveals a new facet, like turning a kaleidoscope. Angelos Balamis has created something genuinely unique „his amber,” as J calls it, “shimmering with fruits, flowers and dark resins.”

  • I really look forward to seeing what a talented perfumer can do with a seemingly simple but ubiquitous note. I love amber as a base and Angelos exploration of facets of amber resulting in a dry, musky golden incense smoke sounds fabulous. MD, USA

  • Patricia R. says:

I like the mention of the velvety texture, osmanthus, musks, wisps of smoke, fruits. I like that something ambery, earthy and with dark resins can be still ethereal and airy and I wonder how this is executed. I would like to know the reason behind the name. LIving in the EU.

  • Oh wow, this scent just keeps getting better as J continues describing it’s evolution, from juicy and peppery to the ambery spine, with a peek of fresh clover to caramel-ly warm dried fruit to cocoa, chocolate and sandalwood? It just sounds divine! In the us

  • What strikes me most about E-lectron is how it feels both familiar and completely new at the same time. I love the contrast between the juicy fruits at the opening and the warm, dry spices that follow—it sounds like a scent that keeps evolving on the skin rather than staying linear. It seems elegant but also a little mysterious, especially with those unexpected touches like cacao and iris. Overall, it comes across as a sophisticated and intriguing fragrance that I’d love to experience for myself.
    I’m based in Italy.

  • That’s a full course. The article is well versed in how all things going into it create an enterouge effect. The dryer and powdered tinge is what sparks my interest, the sweet is definitely garnered but a dry orientalesque scent is more alluring. A cool spring, fall and winter sound appropriate for E-lectron to shine brightest. The juice color and packaging are stunners too. From USA.

  • Sorohan Adriana says:

I think the mix of dark fruits, flowers, and resins, along with the amber, makes the perfume smell magical.

  • E-lectron sounds like an unusually balanced amber fragrance that includes a full spectrum of textures, including fruity notes, caramelized sweetness, dry tobacco, powdery iris, and citric-green Elemi along with the expected smoky resins. The chocolate note is the most intriguing here; the “rather magic” combination of cocoa, iris, and cereal grains is powdery and savory as much as it sweets. Really layered composition that “feels far from gourmand” despite what the notes list would suggest. I’d love to try it.

    I’m in WI, USA.

  • cindy.fragrance says:

“The way the spices play with the fruits makes E-lectron feel like warm skin caressed by a breeze as things start to slowly shift letting more gourmand facets feel flirtatious.”
    What a beautiful picture painted!
I had the chance to smell many creations by Angelos Balamis and Danse Lascive, Cuir Fleurissant and Angeliki are my favourites so far…
I would love to try E-lectron…
Good luck to everyone from Germany! 🙂

  • Zoran Loncarevic says:

Whoa, there are quite a few ingredients in there. It sounds like a “not-quite-gourmand” fragrance. Sounds intriguing, and I’d love to give it a try ;). Best regards from Germany

  • Mr. Balami is giving us an exquisite collection of perfumes, and now a new vision of the already classic and kaleidoscopic musk. Mr. J warns us that although his description might lead us to think of this scent as gourmand, that’s not the direction E-lectron takes: it’s juicy, dark sweet with woody warm spices; so it is rich but elegantly and ethereally airy. As a lover of osmanthus, I love how he uses it, along with iris, to give a light floral freshness to this fossil that has fascinated humankind for centuries. I live in Spain, EU.

  • I love how you describe that shifting amber glow, like something alive that keeps surprising me each time I lean in closer. I’m in Romania, and that dusty cacao with the soft wool warmth sounds incredibly intimate and addictive.

  • Finally an amber! I was beginningto think that nobody wears them anymore. I love a good warm, rich amber! And this is an amber that sounds modern and complex, and wearable. I love the layers of fruit and chocolate, that picked my curiosity. EU

  • TobeFrankincense says:

Next to my computer I have baltic ambers that I have found on the beach, so when I came to the part about Angelos grandfather’s backgammon board, I knew that I must try this scent, one way or another! A very transportative review that I enjoyed reading. EU

  • I love Angelos’ perfumes. He really has a love for vintage perfumes and you can tell from the depth and complexity of his fragrances that he has studied them closely . I’m really intrigued by J’s description of E-lectron as a kaleidoscopic amber; a fragrance that has many facets throughout its scent journey. I think this is another stunner from Angelos Olfactifs and would love to enter the draw. Marit Netherlands

  • foreverscents says:

How interesting that Angelos Blames was inspired by his grandfather’s worry beads and the resin fossil checkers on his backgammon board! I am intrigued with the white chocolate note in E-lectron. The pairing with the bran note must certainly add a golden warmth to the fragrance. I love that oamantbhus, one of my favorite perfume notes, is part of the composition. I love how that note add a smooth suede feel to fragrances. E-lectron sounds like it is replete with notes that contrast and compliment. This fragrance is certainly a must-try!
    I live in the USA.

  • Eager to try this one. Samples sold out at LS. I have enjoyed all his creations that I have tried. The combo of the cocoa and iris intrigue me.

  • Resinous perfumes are the apple of my eye and I guess I can’t help it. Every word J wrote about E-lectron felt great and I enjoyed every part of this review. It actually almost hurt reading about something that I only could imagine what it smells like.
    From EU

  • The review is very interesting. E-lectron sounds very good for be from the base of the review and the notes. Thank you for the draw, I live in Europe.

  • wallygator88 says:

Thanks for such a detailed and evocative review, J! What strikes me most about E-lectron is that tension you keep circling back to — talking about it in gourmand terms while insisting it doesn’t wear like one. That paradox of cacao and iris feeling opulent and dark at their edges, paired with a dry bran note that pulls the sweetness into something savoury and elusive, sounds like the kind of amber that rewards patience and close attention rather than announcing itself from across the room. The backstory of Angelos drawing from the amber fossil checkers on his grandfather’s backgammon board gives the whole composition a specificity of memory that elevates it beyond genre exercise into something genuinely personal. And the idea of an amber that stays airy and incense-dry while still radiating warmth — kaleidoscopic is exactly the right word. I’d love to experience how it shifts on skin. Cheers from WI, USA
